"When I grow up, I'm going to be a daredevil!" Rainbow Dash announced, kicking clouds out of the way. She looked around for Cloud Burst, her best friend. "Cloud Burst?" She called.

An orange blur zipped around, clearing clouds and in twenty seconds came to a halt beside Dash. "I'm going to be the best weather pony ever!" She shouted, shooting across the sky. Rainbow playfully followed her, using her wings full power.

She wished everyday would be like this, with Cloud Burst as her best friend.

"Have you reached that dream yet?" Cloud Burst called to Rainbow Dash, zipping around. She'd become such a great weather pony, Princess Celestia's favored in fact.

Rainbow Dash did a loop and asked her friend, "Do you think so? I'm not part of the Wonderbolts yet." She landed on a cloud, bursting it into bits. Cloud Burst snickered and smashed headfirst through at least twelve clouds. "You know, I love days like this. Where nothing will go wrong." Rainbow said, slicing through clouds, chasing her best friend.

Cloud Burst smiled and said, "I think today reminds me the most of when we were fillies." She told her friend, spinning around two clouds, making them whip apart.

"Pegasi rock!" Rainbow shouted! The two hoof bumped. "Hey, do you feel that? It's the north wind!" She said, spinning in circles, attacking clouds and doing tricks.

Cloud Burst looked troubled. She flew south, trying to avoid the wind, make it to safety, as Rainbow did, but her friend was faster. Cloud Burst felt herself become trapped in the wind, suffocating in the wind, air becoming a rarity, her heart jumping around in her chest. As her lungs collapsed, Dash noticed her struggling friend. She shot up to pull Cloud Burst out of the deadly wind. "Go! Cloud Burst! Come on!" She screamed, hoping that her friend was still alive.

The wind began to end, intent of murder gone. The pegasus pony was crashing down to Earth, her pink mane flowing upwards. Rainbow grabbed onto Cloud Burst's tail and flew done to Ponyville. "Are you awake?" She asked her lifelong friend. No response. Rainbow Dash knew it was the end. They'd been friends for so long, it was hard to believe the end was here now. She could feel the wind again, taunting her to come back into the sky, as if to tell her to attempt to claim her friends life back. But Rainbow knew it wasn't true. The weather pony was gone. Here, far away from her home of Las Pegasus.

Rainbow shook her candy colored friend. Orange coat, pink mane, and her closed periwinkle eyes. No longer the favored weather pony. No longer a friend. No longer alive. "We've been friends forever it seems. Remember that time when we stole from my mother's cookie jar? It was two sugar cookies, and we got punished. That was so silly of us. Or remember the the time when Fluttershy and I had that race and before it even started she started crying and you came over and asked her what was wrong? She said, 'FLYING! I hate flying! I want to be an Earth pony!' and all of us started laughing? Jeez, that was funny. It's too bad you never met Pinkie Pie, you'd think you were in heaven." Consoling herself by talking to a corpse. Tears slid down Rainbow's cheeks, realizing that Cloud Burst was gone and would never be back.

"Goodbye old friend." She said, picking a daisy and laying it over her friend's heart.

"May you rest in peace." She said, covering the cutie mark of a cloud with a rose.

"Have a nice afterlife." Rainbow said, placing a lily over her friends eyes.

"Don't forget that I welcome the super natural!" Rainbow stuttered, placing a bluebell over her mouth.

"And that I'll always be your friend." She murmered, stuffing her friend's ears with dandelions, so she would hear nothing.

"Have peace and never forget our times together." Rainbow began to cry over her friend's still body. "Goodbye Cloud Burst! I'll never forget you, don't forget me!"

"I won't, I promise." The wind whispered, tickling Rainbow's ear. Things were right again.
