Author's Note

This takes place in an alternate storyline of Season 9 Episode 4 "Sparkle's Seven". Also, this is my first FiM fanfiction, so please let me know of any problems in the feedback.

Chapter 1: The Deviation

As Twilight's owl "Owlowiscious" keeps calling through the night, she rocks back and forth on her bed, seemingly sleepless from sheer excitement. It all began when Shining Armor told her about a surprise last night, which really got her hooked up. Just as the sun rises, she almost immediately jumps out of bed and begins calling for Spike.

"Spike! Spike! Wake up its sunrise already!" Twilight says with excitement.

"Ugh, what time is it, oh 6'o clock, well I better go back to sleep." Spike says, clearly sleepy.

"Oh you stupid little dragon, I won't take you at Celestia's if you don't wake up!" Twilight says, a bit calmer than last time.

"(sigh) Fine." Spike says, still dazing.

Twilight immediately starts to prepare for the visit, while Spike keeps lagging behind. She wears her crown, a beautiful robe gifted by Rarity, and a tiny present for Shining Armor.

"Wake up you sleepyhead!" Twilight says, a bit annoyed.

A few moments later, Spike coughs up a letter, and Twilight snatches it even before Spike could react, and reads:

"Dear Twilight, here's a crown, symbolizing..."

"Spike, you know what this means?" Says Twilight.

"Yeah yeah I know." Says Spike, after which Twilight exclaims:

"He has invited me for the sibling supreme battle!"

Twilight quickly drags Spike along as she trips over the stairs, before getting back up, and continuing her sprint.

"Uh Twilight, can't you just, you know, teleport?" Says Spike.

"Oh yeah, totally forgot." Twilight says before using the spell to teleport in front of Celestia's castle. She then enters with excitement, but her excitement quickly hangs low as she sees Shining Armor wearing it, before exclaiming:

"Wait what, you're wearing it!?"

Twilight then engages in a little argument before being stopped by Princess Celestia. She then talks about how the castle was reinforced by Shining Armor due to the return of King Sombra, after which Shining Armor gloats about his "impenetrable three-line defense" system. He then exclaims that:

"If (Twilight) you can break into the castle, steal the crown, and get out without being caught, then you'll be sibling supreme forever."

"For-ev-er." Says Twilight in a mildly hypnotized tone.

"But! If you fail, then I get to-" Shining Armor tries to say but gets cut mid-sentence by Twilight; who says;

"Okay deal."

Princess Celestia then informs them that she will be representing their parents authority. Twilight then quickly leaves to return to her castle.

"Uh, Twilight, the spell?" Says Spike.

"Oh yes the spell" Says Twilight, before teleporting back to her castle to hatch a plan.

"Okay so, Pinkie, you will be distracting the guards by throwing a party." Says Twilight.

"Mmm, sounds fun!" Says Pinkie.

"And Rarity, you will-" Twilight gets cut off mid- sentence by Spike's coughing. He then coughs up a letter.

"Dear Twilight, hope your plan is not, Pinkie distraction, Rarity costumes, Rainbow Dash... He guessed your whole plan."

Twilight grunts. She then tries to say something but is stopped by Rarity, who says:

"If Shining Armor expects your plan, then we should do it the unexpected way."

"And how do you plan something opposite of this plan that has already been made?". Says Applejack.

"You guys brainstorm ideas, I'll be the judge of which plan will be part of the main plan." Says Rarity.

They all then brainstorm ideas before they all gets a part in the plan, all except Twilight.

"Guess I'm the only one who doesn't have a plan (nervous laughter)." Says Twilight.

"Oh darling, that is the plan, you'll do nothing."

After the plan has been settled, they all head towards Celestia's castle.

"Twilight, the-" Spike gets cut of mid-sentence by Twilight; who says:

"Yes yes, spell." Before teleporting everyone to Celestia's castle.

As the plan begins, Fluttershy and Spike hops into Pinkie's air balloon; Rainbow Dash goes with Rarity; Twilight just stands there; and Applejack uses her alter ego "Apple Chord" to distract. However, just as the plan starts to work out, All Goes Wrong.

Fluttershy and Spike falls through the trap pit before blacking out as they hit the ground, Rarity and Rainbow Dash opens the hole leading to the trap room by a lever, before entering the area and getting locked out, while a gas knocks them out, while Twilight is led by Shining Armor himself into a trap while the guards bring Pinkie and Applejack hostage.

Twilight finds herself trapped in the dungeon-like room; being strapped-tight into the walls using tight belts that are well placed to prevent any escape attempts. She tries lighting up the room using her magic, but finds it very hard. After trying multiple time, she manages to finally spark a dim light from her horn, but it almost immediately gets extinguished. However, that short period of lighting allowed her to see the layout of the room, and see that her friends are also here.

She sees that she is next to Spike, so she decides to call him and inquire him about what happened.

"Spike, Spike, are you there?" Says Twilight in a fearsome tone, trying to retain her sanity and composure. However, in return, she gets no response.

Twilight continues to keep calling for Spike for a long time, until she finally gets exhausted. She shuts her eyes again for a break, before unknowingly drifting away to unconsciousness again.

A few hours later, she regains consciousness, this time being called by Spike.

"Twilight, Twilight. Twilight." To which she responds:

"Yes Spike, I'm awake. Where are we, do you know anything about this?"

"No, do you know anything about this or why are we even stuck here and why are you not using your horn to just magic us out of here?" Says Spike in an annoyed voice.

"I.. I just can't." Says Twilight in a worried state

"What do you mean by that, you're an Alicorn princess here in Equestria, if nopony can't, then you can." Says Spike.

"I don't know Spike, I've tried many times. I just can't." Says Twilight, now sweating and shaking.

It took a lot of encouragement from Spike to finally convince her to retry, however, she still failed.

Just then, a compartment opens up, a shadow emerges from it, and a familiar voice says:

"Welcome back Twilight."
