Hecarim's Arrival in Ponyville

Hey guys! This chapter was a bit of a challenge for me, it took a while for me to figure out how this chapter would turn out. Anyway, enjoy and be sure to tell me how I can improve. Also, congratulations to TPA for winning the League of Legends Season 2 World Championships! They really came from nowhere and surprised us all with their 3-1 victory over Azubu Frost, what a thrilling conclusion to Season 2, see you guys next season!

Hecarim Finds a Rainbow

Getting ready to clear the skies of clouds, Rainbow Dash soars across Ponyville. As she flew through the skies and over the houses of her friends she spots an unfamiliar object near Fluttershy's cottage.  It was surely worth it to check out whatever it is, who knows, it could be a friend of Fluttershy. Rainbow floats down towards the ground and flies towards the animal. A large armored ghostlike pony lay before her. Anypony else would have been intimidated by the slumbering creature's appearance, but not Rainbow. She spotted it's weapon and immediately decided the creature to be hostile, "Whatever this thing is, it's obviously going to hurt Fluttershy!" As she looked around she spots an empty basket with a note, "So, this thing is another one of Fluttershy's animal friends? Maybe I should wake it up, I want to see what it actually does. Fluttershy won't mind, right?"

Valoran is engulfed in an eerie mist, silence fills the land and humanity is nowhere to be found. Every tree or plant has withered up and died, cities have fallen and The Institute of War is no more. Hecarim stands above the land with his weapon held high, "THIS IS THE TERROR OF THE SHADOW ISLES, ALL WILL EMBRACE DEATH. Demacia, Noxus, Zaun, Ionia, any city, village, or land has fallen to the champions of the Shadow Isles. The war is over and the victors remained after the bloodshed. "DEATH IS ONLY THE BEGINNING, RESURRECT AND SERVE AS A SOLDIER OF THE SHADOW ISLES. YOUR LIFE WILL END OVER AND OVER AGAIN FOR ETERNITY. Laughter echoed across the darkness. As Hecarim turns around he sees a summoner. "STILL ALIVE?" Hecarim readies his bladed weapon and prepared to impale the unfortunate summoner.

"Wake up." The tip of Hecarim's blade almost met the summoner's throat before he paused.

"WHAT?"

"Wake up..." The summoner's voice slowly faded and was replaced by a female's loud voice.

"HEY WEIRDO WHY ARE YOU ON FLUTTERSHY'S GARDEN? HEY! WAKE UP!" Hecarim regains vision and quickly sees a cyan, multicolored Pegasus flying above him and yelling.

"FOOL, YOU HAVE DONE WRONG TO AWAKEN ME." Obviously angered by the interruption of his slumber, Hecarim reaches for his weapon and points it towards the Pegasus.

"Cool, how do you use that? I bet it looks really awesome when you swing it around!" She's obviously not intimidated by Hecarim.

"YOU ARE... FLUTTERSHY'S ACQUAINTANCE? The Pegasus mentioned Fluttershy's name before, so it would make sense for them to know each other.

"Yeah! Fluttershy cheers me on while I practice, well she tries to at least." Hecarim notices her wings and gets an interesting idea.

"PRACTICE... MY STRENGTH IS NO DOUBT WEAKER THAN BEFORE, I MUST REGAIN MY POWER. HOW WOULD YOU LIKE TO HAVE A RACE? To Hecarim this was just a way to test how much strength he has left, but to Rainbow Dash this was a challenge.

"Oh yeah? Bring it on! I never lose a race, I'm the best flier in Equestria! Just make sure you can keep up." When a challenge is presented Rainbow never backs down.

"INTERESTING, WIN OR LOSS THIS IS SURE TO BE ENTERTAINING. Due to Hecarim's loud voice, Fluttershy awoke and walked towards the two.

"You met Rainbow Dash? That's wonderful!"

"Oh, hey Fluttershy, guess what? Me and your animal friend are going to have a race! You should cheer me on and be the referee!" Rainbow is obviously excited for the race, barely able to hold her excitement.

"Oh... well if you really want me to, then I guess I could. Hope you two have fun!" She runs off to find a suitable area to have the race. Hecarim stretches and places his weapon back against the fence, while Rainbow Dash relaxes and gets ready for the race. After a bit of stretches, Fluttershy returns with news. "I found a large plain you two could race along and I could watch you from start to finish." The three walked to the makeshift starting line, which was really just a line drawn into the ground with a stick. "Rainbow Dash this is where you and Hecarim will start, run straight forward, you'll eventually see the finish line. I decided to make this a long race because I thought that would make it more fun for the bot of you."

"Good job Fluttershy! I wouldn't want this to be a short race, it was really smart of you to stretch out the course! Well then Hecarim, hope you don't mind losing, let's get this started!" Hecarim is a war beast, crossing the battlefield in a flash, he is considered one of the fastest champions in the League, this race would determine if he still has his speed, or if The High Council took that away as well.

"Ready? Set... Go!" Fluttershy's soft voice was very soft, but you can tell she tried to be loud. Rainbow Dash bolted through, galloping across the field with quick speed. She was sure to have this in the bag, louder hoof-steps could be heard right behind her and as she turned around she saw Hecarim coming up and overtaking her. Pieces of grass flew around left and right as Hecarim launched himself across the field, his hooves leaving prints onto the soil, it was easy to keep going at this speed, but he could definitely go faster than this. Just as he thought Rainbow was gone she soared across the sky above him, Hecarim smiled at this, he knew that if she was serious about this race she would eventually take to the skies. This was perfect, now that Rainbow is flying, Hecarim can truly test if he still has his speed and stamina.

"You're not beating me that easy! When I'm in the sky nopony can beat me!" Hecarim's ethereal body flashed and soon a light blue trail followed behind him, he was now on the same speed as Rainbow. Rainbow Dash flapped her magnificent wings brilliantly, never messing up eventually she spreads her wings out and glides across the sky and gains the lead. Hecarim's speed keeps increasing and soon a thin white line outlines in front of Hecarim, as his speed continues to rise the line starts to bend around Hecarim as a cone and he begins to pierce through it. Soon enough a loud boom is heard across the land and a shock-wave can be seen as Hecarim bolts across the seemingly never ending plain.

"MY SPEED... I HAVEN'T LOST IT! COME RAINBOW DASH, RACE AGAINST ME IF YOU CAN!" Rainbow Dash was in awe, she had to win, she did NOT want to lose this race. Her speed gradually builds up and she desperately flaps her wings, she is soon met with a white line of her own. Her body begins to be engulfed with the visible line of air and in no time she pierces through. The legendary Sonic Rainboom is accomplished as a loud boom is heard across the land accompanied with the trademark rainbow shock-wave. Rainbow's body flies through the air and soon meets Hecarim's with the finish line finally visible, the victor was about cross. Two blurry objects bolt pass the finish line, one large with a ghost like trail, the other smaller with a colorful trail. Unfortunately, the two were going too fast for an average mortal's eye to see the result. Because Equestria doesn't have advanced technology, or any of the inventors of Valoran, the race was settled as a tie.

"That... was... AMAZING!" After a race like that, Rainbow Dash somehow has the energy to yell out like that. Fluttershy said she could see the race from start to finish, but she never explained how. "Hecarim, you're really awesome! That race was just amazing, I had to pull off a Sonic Rainboom just to catch up! And when you-" A large pink and purple hot-air balloon's landing interrupted Rainbow's sentence. Fluttershy walked out of the basket and congratulated the two racers.

"YES... THIS TEST WAS VERY SUCCESSFUL, I WAS ABLE TO CONFIRM THE AMOUNT OF STRENGTH AND SPEED I STILL HAVE." Because Hecarim is a creature no one really knows about, it wasn't that strange when he appeared full of energy after that race. Something is strange, there are 2 other creatures near Hecarim, but he can sense a third. He stays on his guard and cautiously looks around the area around him.

"Hey, you're new here aren't you!" A pink blob of hair pops up in front of Hecarim, surprising him. Hecarim looks down and sees a small pink pony with a poofy mane. "Wow, you're massively tall! What do you eat? I bet you eat lots and lots and lots and lots and lots and lots of sweets!" What is the creature, and what is it even saying?
