Floomp!

‘Aha! Here it is!’
Twilight pulled the book of the shelf. It was titled Oops! A Unicorn’s Guide to Miscast Spells. She rushed for the stairs that led down to her lab, floating it along behind her.
‘Now I need to hurry and fix everything before…’
Suddenly, a strange sound came up the stairs. Twilight sighed.
‘I’d better go see what happened."
She hurried down the stairs two at a time and opened the door at the bottom. What greeted her was a strange sight.
Spike, her assistant, was leaping into the air, trying to grab Pinkie Pie’s back hooves. The pink pony herself was hanging from the ceiling, one of her front hooves inside of the small black hole that Twilight had accidentally made.
“Pinkie Pie! I thought I told you not to touch anything!” exclaimed Twilight. She went over to the only table that hadn't been disturbed and set the book down. She began flipping through it furiously.
“It’s not my fault!” Pinkie replied, “I was trying to keep one of your tube thingies from getting sucked into the black hole, but it was too sucky," she rocked back and forth as she waved her other arm around, "One moment, Spike and I were trying to keep your stuff from getting pulled away, and then next thing we knew, ‘Schwoop!’ So now I’m stuck up here.”
“It’s true,” Spike added, “She didn’t do it on purpose.”
Twilight just shook her head.
“I know you meant well, Pinkie, but I did ask you not to touch anything. I could have easily ordered more lab supplies," she turned a page, "Oh, and by the way, it was more like a ‘Fwoosh!’”
“I’m sorry, Twilight," Pinkie Pie looked up at her hoof, "But I’m pretty sure that it made a ‘Schwoop!’ sound.”
“No, no, I heard it loud and clear from the stairs, and I’m sure that it was a ‘Fwoosh!’”
“Actually,” said Spike, “It sounded like a ‘Schloop!’ to me.”
"No way! It was a 'Schwoop!'" argued Pinkie Pie.
"Well, you were busy flying through the air to hear it and even though you were right next to it, I..."
Twilight rolled her eyes.
“Look, we can figure out what sound Pinkie Pie's hoof made when it was sucked up later. However, right now I need to get her down and I think I have the correct counter spell right here,” Twilight said, placing her hoof in the middle of the page she was on.
She read the instructions closely, and then read them again to make sure she understood what they were saying. Closing her eyes, Twilight concentrated. There was a flash, and the black hole was gone.
Pinkie Pie fell back down to the ground. She stood up and started dusting herself off.
“There, now that I’m down we can do it again,” she said, shaking her hair out of her face.
“What?!” exclaimed Twilight.
“You said that we could figure out what sound my hoof made when it entered the black hole later, and it’s later now! So, let’s figure it out by making another black hole, letting my hoof get sucked into it again, and then listening to what sound it makes.”
Twilight looked at Spike.
"Nothing bad happened, so I don't see what it could hurt," he said, giving a slight shrug.
Twilight looked back at Pinkie Pie.
"I guess we could do it again,"
So Twilight made another black hole by casting the spell that she had messed up earlier. However, this time she messed it up on purpose. As had happened before, there was a slight breeze that steadily grew to a gale. At the same time, a black dot appeared on the ceiling. It grew larger as the wind’s intensity increased until it reached the size of a small plate.
When the black hole reached maximum size, Pinkie Pie grabbed up a large flask and held it up. She then moved steadily closer and closer to the black hole, until…
“There! Did you hear it?” She asked excitedly, swinging a little by her outstretched arm.
“Yes, I did,” Twilight replied, “I guess it wasn’t really a ‘Fwoosh!’, was it?”
“I told you.”
“But neither was it a ‘Schwoop!’”
“And it definitely wasn’t a ‘Schloop!’” admitted Spike.
Twilight nodded.
“Yes, that’s true. It actually sounded more like a ‘Fl…’ ‘Fl…’”
“’Floo…’” said Pinkie Pie, trying to help Twilight figure out the sound.
“‘…mph?’” Spike suggested.
“No, not ‘…mph’” said Twilight.
They all sat there, trying to remember the last part of the sound.
“‘…mp!’” Pinkie Pie shouted suddenly, “That’s it! It made a ‘Floomp!’ noise.”
“You know what, I think your right,” agreed Twilight, “It was a ‘Floomp!’”
“Okay, so now that we have that sorted out, what next?” Spike asked.
Twilight looked up at Pinkie Pie, then back at Spike.
“I guess the first thing to do is get Pinkie Pie down again,” she said. Twilight closed her eyes and cast the counter spell. Once again, there was a flash and Pinkie Pie crashed down to the floor.
“Now,” Twilight said, turning to a table where she had lined up various test tubes, “Time to return to my experiment.”
“What was it again?” asked Pinkie Pie.
“I was trying to see if I could use magic and chemicals to turn water beige,” Twilight answered, pulling one of the racks close to her.
“Oh yeah. In that case, I think that I’ll just go back home now.”
Pinkie Pie turned and started towards the door that led back upstairs. However, about halfway there she suddenly turned back around.
“I wonder if we get a completely different sound when my hoof gets sucked into a black hole on the wall?” she said out loud, tapping her chin.
Twilight looked from her experiment, to Spike, and then to Pinkie Pie.
“Let’s try it and see.”
