Equestria Ninja Titans: Blue Beetle
On a peaceful afternoon at Titans Tower, in Batman’s universe, Teen Titan member Blue Beetle, a.k.a. Jaime Reyes, was currently on monitor duty while the rest of the Titans were away on a mission. The monitors showed nothing happening in the city. Blue Beetle crossed his legs on the desk.
Just then, the back of his suit started beeping. It was the suit itself, Khaji-Da, talking to him, “It appears all is quiet,” Khaji-Da said in Jaime’s head.
“Thanks, Khaji, I haven't noticed,” Jaime told the suit sarcastically.
But Khaji-Da didn’t get the sarcasm, “Perhaps you should learn to…”
”That was sarcasm. I just can't believe that I have to stay here on monitor duty while the others are on a mission,” Jaime voiced in frustration about missing the mission.
“According to Nightwing, this mission was personal for the original team members, and they needed someone here,” Khaji-Da reminded Jaime.
“And I'm the new guy, not one of the founders like them. So I get to stay here while they're hunting Slade or Deathstroke or whatever name he's going with,” Jaime pouted.
Just then, one of the monitors beeped. Beetle knew what that meant. He pressed a button, and a group of people appeared on the screen: his parents, Rocio and Alberto, his younger sister, Milagro, his uncle, Rudy, and his grandmother, Elena. Beetle removed his helmet so they could see his face.
“Holã, mijo.” Rocio greeted her son.
“Hey, son,” Alberto said to him.
“Hi mama, guys,” Jaime greeted his family.
“So good to see you, mijo,” Elena said to her grandson.
“How are you doing, kid?” Rudy asked.
“Great, stuck on monitor duty while the other Titans are on a mission,” Jaime said with annoyance. “Just me and the Scarab.”
Milagro suggested, “You know, we could come over again if you want, like when your friends went to Dakota.”
“Yeah, that was fun checking out the Tower so I can take a look at Cyborg's sweet ride of his,” Rudy suggested.
“Thanks, but I'm alright,” Jaime reassured. “And Cyborg made it clear not to touch his ride.” He stated while Rudy was disappointed.
After that, Jaime then felt something against his leg: the giant Moth larva, Silkie. Jaime picked him up and presented him to his family. “Oh, I almost forgot. Silkie is here with me too.”
“Oh, hola, Silkie. How's mi favirote pequeña larva de polilla doing?” Elena asked while adoring the little pet. Silkie cooed in reply as Jaime put him down.
“Anyway, we saw Traci last week,” Milagro pointed out.
“How's she doing?” Jaime asked, thinking about her.
“She's fine. Though I still don't understand why you two broke up,” Elena wondered.
“We broke up because we weren't clicking anymore,” Jaime admitted.
“I'll never understand the human concept you call love,” Khaji-Da pointed out.
“What did it say?” Alberto asked, knowing the Scarab spoke.
“Nothing important. Anyway, Traci and I broke up. It was a mutual decision,” Jaime insisted.
“Well, either way, now that you're dating out with Jenny Kord…” Rudy said, making Jaime blush.
“We're not dating, Uncle Rudy. She's just helping me figure out the Scarab,” Jaime insisted.
“So you say,” Milagro said with a smirk. “You two are just like Maria la del Barrio. And you're the Maria.” Milagro then started singing, “Ya muncha honra.”
The rest of Jaime’s family joined in on the singing, “María la del barrio soy. La que de escuincla quedó resola. Y pa' cambiar su suerte.”
Jaime was utterly embarrassed, but he couldn’t help but chuckle. But then, Jamie noticed something’s going on with one of the security monitors, and it was jammed. So, he took it as a sign that something wasn’t right.
“Sorry, guys, but I have to go,” Jaime insisted as he disconnected the call.
“Mijo?” Rocia asked in worry.
“Jaime, what's going on?” Alberto asked.
“I'll speak to you guys later. Los amo, familia.” Jaime disconnected the call.
Jamie then turned off the monitor, put his face plate back on, and turned to the security feed, which was being cut.
Khaji-Da warned Jaime, “Jaime, I'm sensing hostiles in the tower.”
“I'm getting the feeling as well,” Jaime agreed as he put his helmet place back on.
He then heard something down the hallway and turned his arms into cannons, getting ready to attack whatever’s coming at him.
Down at the Boiling Isles, at the Owl House, Luz, Amity, Eda, King, Hooty, Willow, Gus, Hunter, Ed and Em, Lilith, Raine, Vee, and Camilla were all lounging in the Owl House. It had been months since Belos was defeated for good.
“After some work on the Isle, it's good to relax,” Gus said, feeling chill.
“That's right,” Willow agreed.
“Here, here, goops,” Eda agreed as well.
“I think a day like this is what we needed,” Lillith said.
Hooty then stretched and gave Lillith a cup of tea. “Here you go, Lu-lu.”
“Oh, thank you, Hootsifer,” Lillith thanked the house demon.
Luz, on the other hand, wasn’t thinking about relaxing. “I don't know, guys. Maybe we should get back to work on the…”
“Luz, mija, today is a day of relaxation,” Camila told her daughter.
Amity got close to Luz, “Camila's right, batata, we're relaxing.” Amity kissed Luz on the cheek, which calmed her down.
“You're right, today's a day of relaxation.” Luz then turned to Vee, the basilisk. “How are you holding up, Vee?”
“Just fine,” Vee said. This is only her second time coming to the Demon Realm after she first left and joined the Noceda family.
“We're really proud of how you're managing, Vee,” Camila praised the basilisk.
“Thanks. One step at a time.”
Then all of a sudden, they heard a beeping sound.
Raine asked, “What is that?”
Eda went to the crate filled with her stuff, which was recovered from the Scouts. She rummaged through it and found the Kraang Portal Device.
“The Kraang Portal Device. You still had it?” Luz said.
Eda nervously chuckled, “Yeah, but it hadn't worked since we left New York.”
Camilla questioned, “You mean this is the device that took you to that other New York?”
Luz answered, “Yeah, that's the one. But what's it doing?”
Just then, Luz accidentally dropped the device on the floor, which activated and opened a portal underneath their feet, causing them to fall in. Everyone screamed, and the Owl House gang was in for a wild ride.
Meanwhile, in New York, the Turtles, Rainbooms, April and Casey were hanging out in the lair.
“When are we gonna get some action?” Raph said while hitting the training dummy.
“Let's not rush into anything, Raph,” Sunset advised.
“Sunset's right, we can’t be too hasty to find trouble,” Leo agreed.
“By the way, where are the others?” Pinkie asked, noticing fewer numbers than usual.
“Karai is out on a training exercise,” Leo informed her.
“Shini said something about meeting with some old school friends,” Mikey pointed out.
“Keno's helping his dad at his dojo,” Casey also pointed out.
“And the others are doing their own thing. So it's just us,” April said.
Just then, they heard a beeping sound coming from Donnie’s lab.
Rainbow asked, “What's that sound?”
The Ninjas ran into Donnie’s lab, where they found the source, the Titans Communicator that he got from Nightwing.
Donnie said, “The Titans Communicator.”
Twilight wondered, “How is it sending a signal to our dimension?”
Donnie answered, “After our mission in Dakota, Cyborg gave me some tools to upgrade them so we can communicate through dimensions.”
Raph called, “Right. Now let's see who's calling.”
Donnie activated the Communicator, and they heard a voice.
“Come in, this is Blue Beetle of the Teen Titans. Sending in an SOS.”
“Blue Beetle?” April said.
With the loud noises from the call, Blue Beetle continued his message. “I am surrounded and outnumbered! Requesting backup, I repeat, request... ooh...”
The message just stopped, leaving everyone worried.
Fluttershy feared in worry, “Oh no.”
Sunset suggested, “We need to help him.”
“The message also had Blue Beetle's coordinates.” Donnie read.
Leo told his brother, “Donnie, upload it to the Dimensional Transmitter. We’re going to help our friend, Blue Beetle!” Donnie nodded and Leo informed the rest of the Ninjas, “Everyone, gear up!”
The Turtles, Rainbooms, and Casey geared up and they were ready to go and help their friend as Donnie activated the Dimensional Transmitter and everyone entered the portal to Batman’s universe.
