New Friends And New Beginings
Riding up a hill on a red bicycle was a girl with short blonde hair wearing a blue top with white shorts and a blue fanny pack. She looked like she was having fun.
“Hi my name is April from Petalburg City and I'm on my way to Littleroot Town to get my starter Pokemon and begin my journey. I feel like I'm in for the journey of a lifetime but what I care about most is traveling around this region of ours and beyond, “April said to herself as if she was narrating her own story. As she was riding a Duskell came out of nowhere and startled her which caused her to hit a tree and her head. “I should have worn a helmet. She then fell limp for a while before continuing. “Truth be told, being around pokemon can make me feel nervous. She soon stopped on top of a cliff overlooking the ocean where a ship was sailing towards what looked like a big city. She looked amazed by what she saw. “But the traveling part gets me quite excited.
Meanwhile on the ship that April saw, our real hero Turquoise and her Espeon were heading towards the Hoenn Region quite excited for their new journey.
“I’m so excited I can’t wait until the ship docks so we can start this journey,” Turquoise said with Espeon sharing her enthusiasm. She remembered something Professor Oak told her before they left.
“Now remember Turquoise when you reach Little Root Town look for Professor Birch. He should help point you in the right direction to at least start your journey, “Professor Oak said before the flashback ended.
“Right Professor Birch,” Turquoise said. Sometime later the ship arrived in Littleroot Town and Turquoise and Espeon disembarked ready to begin their journey but before that a big man in a lab coat was waiting for her.
“Are you Turquoise?” The man asked.
“I am, are you professor Birch?” Turquoise asked.
“I am,” The man said before having Turquoise get in his jeep next to him. He hit the gas and they were on the road. “Tell me Turquoise, what brings you to Hoenn?
“I am here to enter the Hoenn league and the Grand Festival,” Turquoise said.
“Oh so you're a coordinator and a gym challenger. Quite ambitious,” Professor Birch said.
“Thanks I guess,” Turquoise said as they passed a swarm of Beautifly that were flying by as they kept driving.
Back with April she arrived at the lab in Littleroot Town hoping to find the professor but instead was met by his assistant.
“You must be the new trainer April,” The assistant said.
“That’s me, “April said.
“Sorry to say but professor birch is currently away but if you can wait he should be back shortly, “The Assistant said.
“I can wait,” April said before taking a seat on the couch. Ten minutes later the jeep pulls in and Professor Birch along with Turquoise come in.
“Sorry for the delay, traffic in town was a nightmare,” Professor Birch said.
“Professor, the new trainer is here, “the assistant said before referring to April.
“Ah you must be april, nice to meet you,” Professor Birch Said.
“Likewise professor,” April said.
“Well let's get to it, Turquoise, feel free to observe since Professor Oak told me how much you like to learn about new pokemon, “Professor Birch said before pulling out three pokeballs. “These are the beginning pokemon for trainers here in Hoenn. The professor opened the first one which released a green gecko-like creature with two green tails. “First up is the grass-type Treecko. Turquoise decided to test out her new Pokedex on Treecko.
“Treecko, The Wood Gecko Pokemon, Treecko is cool, calm, and collected-it never panics under any situation. If a bigger foe were to glare at this Pokémon, it would glare right back without conceding an inch of ground,” the Pokedex said in a sophisticated female computer voice.
“So cool,” Turquoise said.
“That glare does not do it for me,” April said before professor birch moved on by opening a second pokeball which unleashed an orange chick-like creature.
“Next up is the fire-type Torchic,” Professor Birch said as Turquoise switched the pokedex to it.
“Torchic, The chick Pokemon, Torchic sticks with its Trainer, following behind with unsteady steps. This Pokémon breathes fire of over 1,800 degrees Fahrenheit, including fireballs that leave the foe scorched black,” The pokedex said.
“So cute,” Turquoise said.
“I agree but let's see what choice number three is first,” April said as professor birch opened the third pokeball unleashing a blue fish-like creature with orange bumps on its cheeks.
“And lastly, The water-type, Mudkip,” Professor Birch said before Turquoise focused her pokedex on it.
“Mudkip, The MudFish Pokemon, In water, Mudkip breathes using the gills on its cheeks. If it is faced with a tight situation in battle, this Pokémon will unleash its amazing power-it can crush rocks bigger than itself,” The pokedex said.
“Impressive,” Turquoise said.
“So which one do you choose?” Professor Birch asked. April gave it some thought and then made her choice.
“I chose Mudkip,” April said, which made Mudkip excited.
“Good choice, now here is mudkip’s Pokeball,” Professor Birch said before giving it to April along with five more pokeballs and a pokedex. Now if you two are planning on entering the Hoenn league you're going to need to register at the nearing Pokemon center.
“I believe the nearest one is in Oldale Town,” The assistant said.
“Oldale town got it,” Turquoise said.
“It's north of here. I'm sure April can show you the way,” Professor Birch said. Before the conversation could continue a grabber arm suddenly snatched up Espeon. The arm came from a trio of familiar faces.
“Long time no see Dorkette,” Isabelle said.
“Team Supernova I should have known you creeps would show up,” Turquoise said.
“Now don’t say it like that we have history,” Chris said.
“Espeon use swift. Espeon tried to use swift but when she did she was zapped by the grabber.
“Nice try Dorkette but we came prepared for you,” Isabelle said.
“Don’t you have any other pokemon with you?” Professor Birch asked.
“Espeon was all I had for this journey,” Turquoise said.
“Sandaconda come on out,” Isabelle said as she sent out Sandaconda.
“Go Mudkip,” April said as she called out her Mudkip. “Now Mudkip use water gun. Mudkip was getting ready to unleash water gun.
“Wait, don't attack,” Turquoise said but it was too late as water gun nailed Sandaconda which triggered its sand spit ability and created a sand storm which team Supernova used to make their escape.
“Where did this Sandstorm come from?” April asked.
“I tried to warn you, Sandaconda has the ability sand spit which allows it to create sandstorms when hit by an attack,” Turquoise said.
“They couldn't have gotten far, we can still catch them,” Professor Birch said while grabbing the two remaining pokeballs. The three set off to Route 101 where as luck would have it team Supernova was still above in their hot air balloon with Espeon in a cage below.
“Are you sure it's a good idea to leave the dorkette’s Espeon in the cage? it's weighing us down,” Chris asked.
“It's not an issue,” Meowth said before explaining. “The Twerpette said Espeon was her only pokemon and the new twerpette’s Mudkip is pretty weak compared to what we have. On top of that we are airborne so there's no way they can reach us. Suddenly Turquoise, April, and Professor Birch caught up to them.
“Alright you three give back my Espeon or else,” Turquoise demanded.
“What can you do? without your pokemon you're nothing,”Isabelle shouted.
“But we have some, Go Treecko and Torchic,” Professor Birch said before calling them out. “Treecko use pound to send Torchic flying toward the balloon. Treecko used its tails to fling Torchic at the balloon successfully. Torchic picked up on what the professor was thinking and started pecking at the balloon which poked a hole in it and caused it to fall. As soon as they landed Turquoise rushed towards the cage and freed Espeon.
“Ok Espeon use psybeam on them. Espeon fired her Psybeam and sent team supernova and their balloon flying off into the horizon.
“Nicely done Turquoise, “Professor Birch said.
“I’m curious, how exactly do you know those three?” April asked.
“Simple I had the displeasure of encountering them on my very first day as a pokemon trainer and i did not like them then and still don’t like them,” Turquoise said.
“Do you think we've seen the last of them?” April asked.
“Not likely, those three have the tenacity of a bug-type,” Turquoise said.
“In any case I must return to the lab, keep going down this road and you will reach Oldale town,” professor birch said before going back towards Littleroot town. As for Turquoise and April they continued on the road to Oldale Town. As they were walking they soon saw a creature with a jagged-looking coat that was in two shades of brown.
“What pokemon is that?” April asked.
“Why don’t you use your pokedex to find out, “Turquoise suggested, which April did.
“Zigzagoon, The tiny racoon Pokemon, It walks in zigzag fashion. It's good at finding items in the grass and even in the ground,” April’s pokedex said.
“It's so cute I want it,” April said.
“Then why don’t you try and catch it,” Turquoise said.
“Good idea,let me grab a pokeball real quick,” April said before pulling a pokeball out and throwing it.
“Not like that,” Turquoise said as the ball made contact with Zigzagoon and contained it. A few shakes later Zigzagoon broke out and ran away.
“What gives? I threw an empty Pokeball at it didn’t I?” April asked.
“There is more to it than just tossing a pokeball at a pokemon, you need to battle it to weaken it first then try to capture it,” Turquoise explained.
“And how do you know?” April asked.
“Because I have experience and I made that same mistake and had someone tell me the same thing,” Turquoise said. The two of them kept going and soon found themselves in some ruins.
“Where are we?” April asked.
“It looks like some kind of ruins,” Turquoise said.
“You are correct, miss, these are the Oldale ruins,” a man dressed as an archaeologist said.
“By any chance you would not happen to know where the pokemon center is, do you?” April asked.
“You girls are almost there, it's just over this hill,” He said.
“Thank you,” Turquoise said. Sometime later the girls arrived and Turquoise had nurse joy look at her Espeon.
“Say Turquoise since it is my first time in a pokemon center mind showing me around?” April asked.
“Sure,” Turquoise said. Turquoise showed her around the various places inside and the tour ended with the vid phone/teleporter. Turquoise realized she had to check in with Professor Oak to assure him she arrived safely in Hoenn. She dialed the number and soon Professor Oak appeared on screen.
“Ah Turquoise I was wondering when you would call,” Professor Oak said.
“We had to deal with team supernova on the way to Oldale town but we had it safely,” Turquoise said.
“Oh I assume you found yourself a traveling companion already?” Professor Oak asked.
Sure did,” Turquoise said before having April take over.
“Hi Professor, I'm April,” April said.
“Nice to meet you, April, I'm professor Gary Oak from Pallet Town,” Professor Oak said.
“I know I heard about you over the radio,” April said.
“In any case I need to get back to work, I wish you two the best of luck on your journey,” Professor Oak said before hanging up. Turquoise went to check on her Espeon.
“I am happy to report your Espeon is in good health,” Nurse joy said.
“Thank you nurse Joy,” Turquoise said. “By the way, is this where I register for the Hoenn league?
“Sure is,” Nurse Joy said before Turquoise gave Nurse Joy her pokedex. A few seconds later she was all set and was even given a badge case.
“Your turn, April,” Turquoise said.
“About that, I decided not to enter the Hoenn league,” April said.
“Oh, would you rather do contests instead?” Turquoise asked.
“I’m not sure what those are,” April said.
“It’s ok i’m sure you will discover what it is you want when you see it,” Turquoise said. It was getting late so the girls decided to call it a night before heading towards their next stop which was Petalburg City.

Chasing My Taillow
Today our heroes arrived in Petalburg City which got Turquoise excited.
“Ah, the feeling of visiting a new city in a new region,” Turquoise said.
“To you maybe but to me it's just home,” April said.
“That’s right, you came from Petalburg City,” Turquoise said.
“Well in any case let's go to my house, my mom will want to see my Mudkip,” April said. The girls arrived in front of an average looking house before April knocked on the door. Less than a minute later a woman with blonde hair styled in twirls wearing a simple red dress opened the door.
“April welcome home, how was your trip to Littleroot Town?” The woman asked.
“It was fine mom,” April said before her mom invited both her and Turquoise inside.
“I see you have already made a friend, What’s your name dear?” Mom asked.
“I’m Turquoise,” Turquoise said.
“Nice to meet you Turquoise, i’m April’s mom but you can call me Fiona,” Fiona said.
“Let me show you my partner pokemon,” April said before calling out her Mudkip. Fiona looked at Mudkip before saying something.
“Tell me April what made you choose Mudkip?” Fiona asked.
“Because his charm won me over,” April said before heading upstairs to get something from her room.
“I see,” Fiona said. “Turquoise what pokemon do you have?
“Right now just my partner,” Turquoise said before calling out Espeon.
“I can see the bond you two share, tell me how long have you two been together?” Fiona asked.
“We've been traveling for about a year and a half now but we've been together since I was seven when she was still an Eevee,” Turquoise said.
“Fascinating, what do you feed her?” Fiona asked.
“A mixture of Oran, Pecha, and Bluk berries, the recipe came from a friend of mine who strives to become a pokemon breeder,” Turquoise said.
“Impressive, the oran berries give a balanced flavor, the Pecha berries provide antioxidants, and the Bluk berries make her coat shiny,” Fiona said. “I was a breeder myself back in my traveling days.
“That’s so cool,” Turquoise said.
“Ok, as interesting as seeing the two of you chat is, it's time we got going,” April said while coming down the stairs with a medium-sized backpack.
“Are you sure you got everything? “Fiona asked.
“I’m sure,” April said.
“Where are you girls off to now?” Fiona asked.
“The gym,” April said.
“Are you sure you want to challenge Max right off the bat?” Fiona asked.
“It’s not for me it's for Turquoise,” April said. The girls left and soon they were in front of the gym. As soon as they entered they saw Max.
“Turquoise? Is that you?” Max asked.
“Yes, it's me,” Turquoise said.
“You two know each other?” April asked.
“We met during the raid to take back Saffron City from Team Supernova,” Max explained.
“How is May doing by the way?” Turquoise asked.
“Knowing her she is probably competing in contests in some far away region, " Max said before changing the subject. “But anyway, what brings you here?
“I came for a gym battle,” Turquoise said.
“So you're entering the Hoenn league, that’s nice but I'm afraid I cannot accept your challenge quite yet,” Max said.
“And why not?” Turquoise asked.
“To challenge my gym you need at least four gym badges to show how strong you've gotten,” Max said before continuing. “You may have won the Kanto and Johto leagues but things here are much different.
“So where do you suggest I go to get my first badge?” Turquoise asked.
“I recommend the Rustboro City gym in Rustboro City, “Max said.
“Where is Rustboro City?” April asked.
“Follow route 104 to the Petalburg Woods and it should be on the other side,” Max said.
“Thanks Max,” Turquoise said.
“I look forward to seeing you again, “Max shouted as the girls headed off. While they were walking, April decided to ask Turquoise something.
“Max said you won the Kanto and Johto leagues already. So why are you still traveling, aren't you the champion?” April asked.
“It does not work that way, to become champion two criteria must be met,” Turquoise said before explaining. “First you must win your home league and second you must challenge and defeat the Elite Four that reside in that region.
“So which region are you from?” April asked as they were getting close to the city limits.
“I’m from Pallet Town in the Kanto Region,” Turquoise said.
“And did you beat the Elite four that you mentioned?” April asked.
“Unfortunately no, I challenged them twice already, the first time I did not make it past Prima and the second time I did not make it past Bruno,” Turquoise said before adding something. “However, I did learn some things from them.
“Such as?” April asked.
“Prima told me about my weakness and how I had to overcome it and Bruno told me I lack focus,” Turquoise said.
“What does that mean?” April asked.
“He meant I jumped into the challenge not knowing who my opponents would be and what they might have up their sleeve,” Turquoise explained with the memory of Bruno having an Onix still fresh in her mind. After several more minutes of walking the girls were now in Petalburg Woods.
“Hey Turquoise, how much further do we need to go?” April asked, feeling tired already.
“Heck if I know,” Turquoise said clearly not knowing where to go since her Pokegear does not include a map of Hoenn.
“Well can we at least stop for lunch? I'm tired and hungry,” April said with her stomach growling along with Turquoise’s.
“Your right let's take a break,” Turquoise said before the two of them sat on a couple of stumps. Turquoise pulled out the special bento her mom made for her but was shocked to see it was ruined. “I can’t eat this now.
“I don’t have anything either, “April said to both of their dismay.
“I wish I brought Fluttershy along,” Turquoise said.
“Fluttershy?” April asked.
“She is one of my close friends and an amazing cook, she is currently training to become a pokemon breeder,” Turquoise said as memories of her filled her mind. They decided to keep going despite being hungry and less than a minute later they found apples in the trees. “We are saved.
“Not much but I guess it's better than nothing,” April said. Before the girls could grab some, a whole flock of bird-like pokemon swooped in and took all the apples off the trees and ate them, leaving only the cores behind. “What are those?
“I’m about to find out,” Turquoise said before pulling out her Pokedex.
“Taillow, The Tiny Swallow Pokemon, Taillow courageously stands its ground against foes, however strong they may be. This gutsy Pokémon will remain defiant even after a loss. On the other hand, it cries loudly if it becomes hungry,” The Pokedex said.
“Sorry Taillow but no one gets between us and our next meal, Go Espeon,” Turquoise said as she called out Espeon. “Espeon use swift while spinning. Espeon created her signature swift tornado which dealt a lot of damage to all of the flock of taillow but despite the damage they would not back down.
“The Pokedex was right, these Taillow are tough and resilient,” April said.
“You could have Mudkip help out, you know,” Turquoise said.
“Against a whole flock no way,” April said. Suddenly a mysterious silhouette appeared and tossed a pokeball.
“Cinderace use Pyro Ball,” The figure said as she called out her Cinderace who not only unleashed a Pyro ball but caused it to ricochet off of each of the Taillow which drove them away for now. Turquoise then recognized who it was.
“Fluttershy so glad to see you again,” Turquoise said with excitement.
“Good to see you too Turquoise and I see Espeon is going well too,” Fluttershy said.
“Meet my new friend April from Petalburg City,” Turquoise said.
“Nice to meet you,” Fluttershy said as she recalled Cinderace.
“So how did you find us?” Turquoise asked.
“I followed the flock of Taillow and when I saw the swift tornado I knew it was you and Espeon,” Fluttershy said.
“So is what Turquoise said about you being a good cook true,” April asked while trying not to sound rude.
“Oh, are you girls hungry?” Fluttershy asked.
“Famished, the food I had was ruined and those apples were the only safe things we found to eat until those taillow stole all of them.
“Well luckily for you I always have my cooking gear on me and we just so happened to stock up on ingredients back in Petalburg City,” Fluttershy said before getting to cooking. Turquoise and April looked at her with intrigue. “Um girls you are staring and it is kind of unsettling. Turquoise and April backed off and waited. Fluttershy finished making some sandwiches and after eating the girls were nourished and ready to keep going. Before they could, one of the Taillow from earlier came flying in alone looking ready to attack.
“Come on, what does it want now?” April said. It looked at Espeon with a look that conveyed a burning desire to fight her.
“My guess this taillow wants to battle,” Turquoise said with her Espeon at the ready.
“Of course its pride as a warrior won’t let it rest until a clear winner is decided,” Fluttershy said.
“Then let's do this,” Turquoise said. Suddenly Taillow came in fast with its beak glowing. “Espeon dodge that and use Psybeam. Espeon was able to dodge and fired a Psybeam. Unfortunately Taillow was fast and after dodging was suddenly covered in an orange aura.
“Careful Turquoise that is focus energy Taillow is using,” Fluttershy warned.
“I know,” Turquoise said. Taillow used another Peck and this time not only did it land but it was a critical hit.
“Espeon use Psychic. Espeon used psychic to slam Taillow onto the ground but Taillow refused to give up which resulted in a long battle of will.Taillow was showing signs of exhaustion which had Fluttershy quite concerned.
“You need to end this before Taillow ends up hurting itself,” Fluttershy said.
“How do I do that when Taillow refuses to back down?” Turquoise asked before one of her empty pokeballs fell to her feet which gave her the answer. “Oh I see. Turquoise picked up the Pokeball and prepared to throw it. “Go Pokeball. The Pokeball managed to contain Taillow and after many shakes it clicked which indicated the capture was successful.
“Well done Turquoise,” Fluttershy said.
“Come on out Taillow,” Turquoise before calling out Taillow who was looking quite tired. Fluttershy then sprayed it with a Super potion which stung based on Taillow’s reaction.
“A shot of this and some rest and you will be good as new,” Fluttershy said.
“Now that we have that solved, let's hit the road,” April said.
“Hold it April, we need to pack up first,” Fluttershy said.
“So does this mean you want to travel with us?” Turquoise asked.
“Of course, you girls need me and besides traveling with you was a lot of fun,” Fluttershy said. After packing up the girls plus Fluttershy continued on the path through the Petalburg Woods. After ten more minutes of walking they arrived on the other side safely and found themselves in front of a lake.
“Well we made it through the forest so where is Rustboro City?” April asked.
“Patience April, we will get there, it just takes time,” Turquoise said.
“Besides, do you even know which way to go?” Fluttershy asked.
“If you girls are looking for Rustboro City it's right across the lake,” A nice woman said before pointing them in the right direction.
“Thank you,” Turquoise said.
“Not a problem,” The woman said before taking her leave. With their next destination just a stone’s throw away our heroes are almost at the first goal. What will happen next, stay tuned as the journey continues.

As promised Fluttershy has joined the adventure. i know this one sounds a lot like the episode where ash cuaght his Taillow in and your right since i drew inspiration from it.

Treecko Amigos
Today our heroes are still on the road to Rustboro City for Turquoise’s upcoming gym battle but their travels bring them to a fork in the road.
“Which way do we go?” April asked.
“I say we go left,” Turquoise said.
“I say we go right,” April said.
“No left,” Turquoise said.
“Right,” April shouted.
“Left,” Turquoise shouted. This went on for a good minute until Fluttershy broke it up.
“Girls enough,” Fluttershy said in a somewhat aggravated tone which took Turquoise by surprise since she has known Fluttershy for a year and a half now and that was the second time she saw her act this way. “The more you two argue the longer it's going to take to reach Rustboro City. Before the three of them could decide which path to take, a group of wild Treecko attacked them and stole their belongings. They then ran down the left path which decided which way the girls would go.
“After them,” Turquoise shouted while chasing them with April and Fluttershy desperately trying to keep up.
“Where does Turquoise get this much energy from?” April asked Fluttershy.
“Beats me,” Fluttershy said. Turquoise soon lost sight of the thieving Treecko and stopped in time for April and Fluttershy to catch up.
“Dang it, I lost them,” Turquoise said.
“Relax Turquoise we will find them,” Fluttershy said assuringly.
Inside a hollowed out room beneath a tree stump by an extremely big tree the group of Treecko were looking through the bags that belong to the girls. They also poked around with their stuff. Some of it amazed them.
Back with the girls they kept following the path until they ran into officer Jenny who soon noticed them.
“Where are you girls off to?” Officer Jenny asked.
“We were on our way to Rustboro City but a group of Treecko stole our stuff,” April said.
“You must mean the Treecko Thieves,” Officer Jenny said.
“Treecko Thieves?” Turquoise asked.
“They are a group of troublemakers who tend to ambush travelers and take their stuff. I was in the middle of posting some warning signs along the path,” Officer Jenny said.
“Well, is it possible to get our stuff back?” Turquoise asked.
“If you can find their den then it might be,” Officer Jenny said.
Meanwhile further ahead of the path was team supernova enjoying a lunch break.
“How can you two sit around drinking tea at a time like this?” Meowth asked in an annoyed tone.
“Oh chill out Meowth, The Dorkette’s are bound to come this way, we just need to be patient,” Isabelle said.
“She is right. So for now just have a rice cracker and relax,” Chris said. Unfortunately the relaxation was rudely interrupted when the Treecko thieves struck again and stole all of their food. One of the Treecko went so far as to use its twig to carve a T into one of the nearby trees in a swift motion like an expert swordsman.
“We will get those thieves,” Isabelle said in an angry tone.
Back with Turquoise and her group they were following the path looking for anything that could tell where the Treecko were hiding. As they walked they soon saw a giant tree in the distance.
“Hey what is that tree over there?” Turquoise asked.
“That’s the great tree,” Officer Jenny said before going into details. “Many years ago a group of Treecko lived in that area where there was a dead tree. What you're looking at now was the sprout that was planted to replace it sixteen years ago.
“Do you think we will find the thieves near there?” April asked.
“It's worth a try,” Officer Jenny said. Turquoise ran ahead and soon saw the great tree up close along with a bunch of Treecko living in it. Unfortunately those Treecko were not the ones she was looking for. Just when she was about to turn back she noticed something sticking out of a hole near a stump. After pulling it out it was her backpack which was nearly empty. Before Turquoise could rejoice a small twig was flying towards her and her instincts kicked in which allowed her to dodge it. It was one of the Treecko thieves who fired it.
“If it's a battle you want then bring it,” Turquoise said before grabbing one of the pokeballs on her belt. “Go Espeon. Espeon came out and was ready. Treecko was also ready and even started the battle with a pound attack which despite being lower leveled than Espeon packed quite a wallop. Espeon use swift. Espeon unleashed her swift but Treecko remained calm and unleashed a bunch of leaves which collided with the swift and caused both moves to cancel each other out. Treecko then followed it up with Quick Attack which also packed quite a wallop as indicated by Espeon being sent flying towards the big tree and hitting it. Turquoise could tell that Treecko was powerful and wanted it. The girls and officer Jenny caught up to Turquoise and saw she got her backpack back and was in the middle of a battle.
“Looks like Turquoise found their den,” April said.
“And it looks like she is battling one of the Treecko, “Fluttershy said. Just as the battle was getting good a suped-up bulldozer with the team Supernova insignia on it rammed the tree and captured all of the Treecko except for the rogue ones. The Treecko that Turquoise was battling was next.
“We will take that, Dorkette,” Chris said while cueing the net.
“Espeon use Psybeam. Espeon fired her psybeam which broke the net. “You freaks interrupted our battle and now you're going to pay for that.
“As if you can stop us with just your useless Espeon, “Isabelle said, rubbing the fact they had the type advantage in Turquoise’s face.
“Then how about adding my team into the mix,” Fluttershy shouted as she sent Cinderace and Ursaring out.
“And mine,” April said before calling out Mudkip. The Treecko thieve decided to help out too since their leader wanted to punish team supernova for interrupting his fight.
“Like all of you can make a difference, Go Mightyena, Sandaconda, and Dustox,” Isabelle said while sending all three of her Pokemon out.
“Houndoom, Metagross, and Dustox you come out as well,” Chris said as he called out his pokemon making it an even six. The girls looked overwhelmed with how powerful all of their pokemon were.
“Really wished i had my other pokemon right about now,” Turquoise said.
“Metagross use meteor mash. Metagross came charging at Espeon with its meteor mash until Fluttershy cutted in.
“Cinderace use Pyro ball. Cinderace put everything he had into his Pyra ball which resulted in a critical hit and sending Metagross flying and faint.
“You may have defeated one of our pokemon but let's see how you handle another. Sandaconda use,” Isabelle was about to say until a bunch of leaves which turquoise recognized as the move leafage hit Sandaconda from out of nowhere in multiple directions which caused it to faint. Soon the Treecko thieves made themselves known.
“You guys came to help?” Turquoise asked surprisingly. The Treecko nodded in agreement before focusing on trying to save the others.
“Big deal we won’t lose that easily,” Chris said before having Houndoom at the ready. “Houndoom use fire fang on the Dorkette’s Espeon. Houndoom came charging at Espeon with fangs covered in fire until April butted in.
“Mudkip use water gun on Houndoom. Mudkip unleashed water gun and managed to nail Houndoom with a critical hit and while it was not enough to finish it Turquoise could handle the rest.
“Espeon use Swift Tornado. Espeon spun while using swift which caused a tornado of stars that not only hit Houndoom but the other three remaining pokemon on Team Supernova’s side. The collision caused all four of them to faint. Team Supernova recalled their pokemon and decided to make off with their catch.
“Oh no you don’t. Ursaring use Focus Blast. Ursaring unleashed Focus blast which managed to nail the bulldozer and cause it to explode thus freeing the Treecko and sending Team Supernova flying. The Treecko were all happy and the thieves decided to give the girls their stuff back as an apology for attacking them.
“Thank you,” Turquoise said. Before the good feeling could continue the Treecko Turquoise was battling earlier got her attention by shooting its twig at her. “What was that for? Treecko looked determined and fluttershy could tell why.
“I think Treecko wants to finish that battle you two started,” Fluttershy said.
“Very well but we won’t be caught off guard this time,” Turquoise said as she and Espeon stood at the ready with all the other Treecko observing from a safe distance. Treecko started the battle off with a powerful pound like last time but this time Turquoise was ready. “Espeon use psychic. Espeon successfully caught Treecko with her psychic before levitating it off the ground. Treecko decided to use Leafage to throw off Espeon’s concentration which worked.
“Why did Espeon stop her attack?” April asked.
“Because that leafage was meant to throw off Espeon’s concentration which is extremely important for the move psychic,” Fluttershy explained.
“Then let's try something else, Espeon use swift while spinning. Espeon unleashed the swift Tornado which managed to entrap Treecko who tried to use Leafage to escape but failed as he took damage. Once the tornado subsided, Treecko was down which was turquoise’s chance to act. “Go pokeball. The pokeball made contact and contained Treecko. It shook a bunch and then clicked shut which meant the capture was successful. Turquoise grabbed the pokeball before raising it over her head in triumph. The Treecko went back to their normal lives as Officer Jenny was showing them the way back.
“If you take the right path it will lead you straight to Rustboro City,” Officer Jenny said.
“Looks right you were correct April,” Turquoise said as the three of them went down the path. As they kept walking, April decided to ask Turquoise something.
“Hey Turquoise, the next pokemon we meet, do you think I can have it?” April asked.
“I suppose so, but it's not really about who calls dibs on a pokemon, it's about forming a connection with them,” Turquoise said.
“She is right,” Fluttershy said. “Pokemon are autonomous creatures like us and we can’t force them to do something they don’t want to.
“Fair point,” April said.
“By the way how much further until we reach Rustboro City?” Fluttershy asked.
“Should not be long now,” Turquoise said as they exited the forest and reached what looked like a building that was on the outskirts of a big city but what was most noticeable was a bunch of trainers with their pokemon.
“Excuse me but how much further is Rustboro city?” April asked a random trainer.
“You're already there, this is rustboro hall,” The trainer said. Soon Turquoise saw what was going on and looked excited.
“All right, my first contest here in the Hoenn Region,” Turquoise said.
“You mentioned them before, what are they exactly?” April asked.
“A contest is kind of like a performance where a pokemon shows off its moves in a very dazzling and exciting way,” Turquoise explained.
“Oh you're planning on entering too?” A random Trainer with a kantonian Vulpix asked.
“I am,” Turquoise said.
“Then you better hurry because spots are limited,” He said before Turquoise took off almost instantly. Soon Turquoise was at the registration desk.
“Hi I would like to enter the contest please,” Turquoise said while presenting her contest pass from Johto.
“I’m sorry miss but your pass is no good, however I can issue you a new one,” The lady at the desk said.
“Please do that,” Turquoise said. A few minutes later Turquoise was all set with her new pass.
“Now I noticed you had a Johto pass so allow me to explain the rules for contests here in Hoenn,” The lady said before continuing. “Coordinators may only select one pokemon and that pokemon will take part in both rounds of the contest and combinations will be scored on a point based system.
“Got it,” Turquoise said. Turquoise decided to enter with Espeon since right now that was her only pokemon that was ready for contests since Taillow and Treecko were new and untrained.
“Alright, you're all set, “The lady said. Soon Turquoise reunited with the others.
“So did you make it?” Fluttershy asked.
“I did but it took a bit longer since I needed to have a new pass issued,” Turquoise said.
“How do these contests work anyway?” April asked.
“I think it will make more sense if you watched rather than trying to explain,” Turquoise said.
“Or you could enter and try it for yourself, “The boy from earlier said.
“Nah, I think I will observe for now, “April said.
“Pardon me for not introducing myself earlier, I’m Adrean and this is my partner Vulpix,” Adrean said while holding his Vulpix. April decided to use her Pokedex to learn about it.
Vulpix, Kanto form, The fox Pokemon, It controls balls of fire. As it grows, its six tails split from their tips to make more tails,” April’s pokedex said.
“Kanto Form?” April asked.
“There are some pokemon that have what is known as regional variants meaning that while a pokemon may have an appearance in one region will look different in another. For example the Kanto variant of Vulpix is the norm but in the region of Alola there is a white variant that is an Ice-type,” Turquoise explained.
“That's impressive how you knew that,” Adrean said.
“Thanks,” Turquoise said before it was time for her and her two friends to introduce themselves. “I’m Turquoise.
“I’m April,” April said.
“And I'm Fluttershy,” Fluttershy said.
“Well best of luck in the contest,” Adrean said before taking his leave. And so the girls finally arrived in Rustboro City and right on time for Turquoise’s first contest. Will turquoise win or lose? Stay tuned as the journey continues.

Rustburo At Last
Last time our heroes arrived at Rustburo hall just in time for Turquoise’s first contest in the Hoenn Region and right now she was showing off her new contest dress which was a black and white suspender dress with hints of blue along with a blue bow by the neck area.
“Nice dress, where did you get it?” April asked.
“My mom made it for me, she borrowed the pattern from a dear friend from Viridian City,” Turquoise said, referring to Serena.
“Ok but is that really necessary?” April asked.
“Very necessary, at least according to my friend Rarity,” Fluttershy said.
“Besides I would do it even if it wasn't,” Turquoise said as she put Espeon’s pokeball inside a capsule.
“What is that?” April asked.
“This is called a ball capsule, it adds some pizzazz to a pokemon’s entrance when called out of their pokeball,” Turquoise said while applying a star seal to the capsule. “And these are the seals that do it, you can get different effects depending on which seals you use. Before Turquoise could go into more detail it was time for all the coordinators to go backstage. April and Fluttershy followed the crowd of spectators to the stands. As for Turquoise she and the other coordinators were now backstage waiting for the mc to appear. Sometime later a woman wearing a formal pink and fuchsia dress with the same orange hair styled the same way as the other two contest mc’s Turquoise has seen so far appeared on the screen and spoke.
“Welcome everyone to the start of another contest season here in Hoenn, I am your mc for the Hoenn region, Vivian and now allow me to introduce the judges,” Vivian said before the camera’s focus shifted towards the judges who by now Turquoise recognized as Mr. Contesta, Mr. Sukizu, and the local Nurse Joy. Soon the contest began and Turquoise observed how things were done here in Hoenn. It looked more scaled down from what Turquoise was used to since so far none of the contestants did anything that was bold or flashy, just standard things like using props to show off moves. Soon it was Turquoise’s turn and she was intent on doing this her way. “And now our final contestant, all the way from Pallet Town in the Kanto region, give it up for Turquoise. She walked out and pulled out her pokeball.
“Espeon, let’s dazzle them,” Turquoise said while doing a spin and tossing Espeon’s pokeball into the air where it popped open and unleashed a bunch of stars with Espeon somersaulting through them before landing gracefully. “Let's start with swift. Espeon unleashed Swift upward in a spiraling fashion, “now use Psybeam. Espeon fired Psybeam which ricocheted from one star to another inside the spiral until the result ended with some dazzling fireworks. The judges were very impressed with how well Espeon entered the stage and with the amazing combination Turquoise and Espeon came up with as indicated by the perfect 30 she received.
“A perfect 30, impressive, it looks like we have a professional among us, “Vivian said, also quite impressed. As soon as Turquoise returned backstage, Adrian approached her.
“That was impressive,” Adrian said.
“Thanks, Espeon and I have been in many contests over the course of our journeys,” Turquoise said.
“Even so don’t get too overconfident because I can guarantee the others will not go down that easily,” Adrian said. Soon Vivian appeared on the screen.
“Sorry for the wait and now here are the four coordinators moving on to the second stage,” Vivian said before Turquoise and Adrian's pictures appeared along with two other trainers who barely squeezed by. The first battle was between Turquoise and Adrian and April was watching very closely.
“So how do these battles work exactly?” April asked Fluttershy.
“Just like with how the beauty of the moves are scored the same goes for this round as well,” Fluttershy explained.
“And now our first match will be between Turquoise and Adrian, five minutes on the clock, go,” Vivian said before both sides pulled out their pokeballs.
“Espeon, Let’s dazzle them,” Turquoise said as Espeon came out in the same way as before.
“Roselia, your on,”Adrian said as he threw his pokeball which popped open and while not as dazzling as with the ball capsule Roselia still looked quite dazzling coming out. “Roselia use magical Leaf. Roselia fired its magical Leaf from its roses.
“Espeon use Psychic. Espeon used her Psychic to stop the leaves which resulted in Adrian losing points.
Adrian: 90%
“How come Adrian lost points?” April asked.
“Because even though Roselia’s magical leaf looked nice Espeon stopped it which caused it to fail thus costing Adrian points,” Fluttershy explained.
“I see now, so the goal is to reduce your opponent’s points to zero,” April said.
“That’s just one way to win, coordinators also win if they have more points remaining then their opponent when time runs out or by knocking their pokemon out,” Fluttershy added. As she explained it, Turquoise and Adrian were done to eighty perfect of their points and they were close to the four minute mark.
“I admit you are pretty good Turquoise but I'm not giving up," Adrian said.
“You're good too,” Turquoise said.
“Roselia use Solar beam. Roselia began to charge up energy which left an opening for Turquoise.
“Espeon use Psybeam while spinning. Espeon unleashed her psybeam which formed a counter shield around Roselia. Before the first hit Roselia unleashed Solar Beam which pushed against the counter shield but failed to break through. Once the move ended roselia fainted which caused the judges to hit their buzzers.
“And it looks like with that dazzling finish Turquoise moves on to the final round,” Vivian said.
“Return Roselia,” Adrian said as he recalled Roselia. He approached Turquoise. “You're quite formidable and even though I lost today, next time we meet I won’t lose.
“I’m looking forward to it,” Turquoise said. The next battle went by fast and the final one ended quickly with Turquoise’s victory.
“And that’s it everyone, the winner of the Rustboro ribbon is Turquoise,” Vivian said. Soon everyone gathered as the award ceremony was about to start. Mr. Contesta approached Turquoise with the ribbon.
“That was an impressive display young lady,” mr. Contesta said as he gave Turquoise the ribbon. Once Turquoise changed back into her street clothes it was off to the Pokemon Center. Before they could leave, Adrian caught up to them.
“So where are you girls off to now?” Adrian asked.
“The Pokemon Center to find out where the gym is,” Turquoise said.
“I can show you the way but first I must ask, do you have any other pokemon besides Espeon?” Adrian asked.
“I do,” Turquoise said before calling out Treecko and Taillow. “I still need to train them since I can guess the gym leader won’t be so easy to beat.
“Well if it's training you need I just so happen to know a good spot in Rustboro City to do so,” Adrian said before showing them the way. Sometime later the girls and Adrian found themselves in front of a building that looked like a training center. “This is Don Frank's training center. If you need to train your pokemon then this is the place to do it.
“I remember encountering a place like this in Johto,” Turquoise said.
“That saves me the trouble of explaining things,” Adrian said before they went inside. Right away Turquoise got to work with Treecko who was doing some target practice with Leafage. Treecko was getting better with each shot but Adrian had an idea.
“Say why not try and teach Treecko Bullet Seed,” Adrian suggested.
“Sounds good, Treecko, are you up for it?” Turquoise asked with Treecko nodding yes.
“Alright,” Adrian said before calling out Roselia. “First a demo, Roselia use Bullet Seed. Roselia fired a bunch of seeds from its mouth which all hit the bull-eyes on the target. “The key is to build up energy and then expel it from your mouth like you're spitting seeds out of it. Treecko gave it a try and managed to get a single seed out but could not put enough power behind it to make it go far. Treecko kept at it for a while and eventually worked its way up to three seeds but could not get the power right.
“That's some good progress Treecko now rest,” Turquoise said before recalling Treecko. Next up was Taillow who was put through the wind tunnel to increase its endurance and speed. After about thirty minutes of training Taillow managed to learn quick attack. It was now back to Treecko who after another thirty minutes managed to get Bullet Seed down. Turquoise planned to head to the Pokemon center until April stopped her.
“Wait,” April said before Turquoise stopped.
“Yes, april?” Turquoise asked.
“After watching you train I want to battle you and make Mudkip stronger too,” April said.
“I guess we could battle since we got time,” Turquoise said. Turquoise and April proceeded to the battlefield and took their positions before Don Frank took his at the ref spot.
“Each trainer will use one pokemon and the battle will end when either side's pokemon is unable to battle,” Don Frank said.
“Got it,” Turquoise said.
“Now if both trainers are ready? Start,"Don Frank said.
“Go Mudkip,” April said as she called out her Mudkip.
“Go Treecko,” Turquoise said as she called out Treecko who looked raring to go.
“April will have the first move,” Don Frank said.
“Mudkip use Tackle. Mudkip charged at Treecko almost like a bullet.
“Dodge and use pound. Treecko dodged and then unleashed pound on Mudkip who took a good amount of damage but was still able to continue.
“Mudkip use water gun. Mudkip fired his water gun which was heading toward Treecko.
“Dodge and use Bullet Seed. Treecko tried to dodge but Mudkip's water gun hit before he could. Treecko was still in this since he had some resistance. “Now use quick attack. Treecko charged at Mudkip really fast. Suddenly the fin on mudkip’s head glowed orange which was a new move he used to send Treecko back while fending off the quick attack.
“What was that just now?” April asked.
“That was Rock Smash,” Fluttershy said.
“Awesome Mudkip learned Rock Smash, “April said with joy. Treecko got back up and was now covered in green energy which was an indication that its overgrow ability was triggered. “What is happening with Treecko?
“That would be its ability Overgrow which activates when a pokemon’s hp is less than a third and it makes all their grass-type moves stronger, “ Turquoise explained.
“No matter we will still win, Mudkip use Rock Smash. Mudkip’s fin glowed orange before charging at Treecko.
“Treecko use Leafage. Treecko used its move and summoned a lot more leaves than usual before sending them flying at Mudkip who was able to knock some of them away but there were too many leaves which resulted in the move landing and causing Mudkip to faint.
“Mudkip is unable to battle, Treecko is the winner which means Turquoise wins the match,” Don Frank said before pointing his right arm at Turquoise. April looked bummed that she and Mudkip lost.
“Hey you did quite well for your first official battle,” Turquoise said.
“But we still lost,” April said.
“A lot of trainers don’t win on the first try so it's ok, and besides Mudkip got stronger and that’s the important part,” Fluttershy said assuringly.
“Exactly,” Turquoise said. “Keep training and I'm sure you will win your next battle.
“I will,” April said before recalling Mudkip. The girls decided now was the time to head to the Pokemon Center. As soon as they got there they saw a woman with brown hair wearing a gray dress with a white blouse waiting by the counter. Soon Nurse joy came out with two pokeballs.
“Your pokemon are all healed and ready for your next challenger ms. Roxanne,” Nurse Joy said.
“Thank you nurse Joy,” Roxanne said. Turquoise was quite surprised by what she heard but decided to ask just to be sure.
“Are you the Rustburo City Gym Leader?” Turquoise asked.
“I am and I'm assuming you're a gym challenger,” Roxanne said.
“I am,” Turquoise said.
“Well the gym is closed for the day but if you still want to challenge me I will be waiting tomorrow,” Roxanne said.
“I look forward to it,” Turquoise said before Roxanne left. The girl had their pokemon healed before calling it a day. What awaits turquoise in her gym battle? Stay tuned as the journey continues.

sorry for the wait. been hoping more people would take interest in this story. but regarding the next chapter its going to be awhile since i'm going to be out of town for the next three months starting on the 9th.
