Chapter 1 - Defeated
This week is one of the worst of my life. Seriously, I really mean it, one of the worst! I wish everything that happened at that moment was just a miserable, pathetic nightmare so I could laugh in my face later and leave to lead my entire Hive. But the reality is... very different.
I wanted to believe that it wasn't real, I begged that it was just another nightmare, but no, they really destroyed me that day, they gave me a blow that I couldn't even do in the "Canterlot Incident", and that blow changed my life even more, my life always changed when something like this happened, and this was no different, all my subjects turned against me, against the one who raised them, the one who took care of them, the one who gave them everything , especially that traitor, Thorax.
I should have known that he had always been fearful, but no, I just preferred to let it go.
The only thing I did with my life was to take care of my subjects, I tried hard to find at least a small portion of love to give them, and well, sometimes some creatures crossed the border into my kingdom and, of course, I took the opportunity to get all their love, if it was a bigger creature, all the better for me, I'd even have some more to eat the next day. As for Canterlot's wedding, it was one of the best plans I'd ever planned, the disguise was difficult but it worked, I wasn't very lucky that day, the love was stronger than me, and in this last plan, I captured Twilight and her friends and all the other royalty, but I'd only forgotten about four others - Discord, the traitor Thorax, one I'd never seen and especially the one that ruined my life: Starlight Glimmer.
I hate her! Really, deep down in my chest, she ruined my life together with Thorax, with the stroke it had, she made my subjects revolt, with such grotesque, sentimental and disgusting words, I can't take it. She said she was also a leader like me (from what I understand), tsk, nothing to do with it! No one will ever be like me. Now what I want for her is for her to die, in some way, to be burned, frozen, tortured, imprisoned somewhere, starved to death, in any way.
When I saw that all the changelings were transforming, the glow that was coming was intense, I was just paralyzed, staring straight ahead with my eyes fixed on a part of my throne room, at the end, boom , I was thrown up from my seat, I'll admit it, I thought it would be the end of me right there, the end of my life, so I had closed my eyes, wondering what would come next, what my fate would be.
After waiting a few minutes, I didn't hear anything, until I opened my eyes again and I was standing on, what was it, the walls of my throne room, I started to hear what was around me, they were breaking out of their cocoons, everyone I captured was leaving, my plan was once again... ruined. And again I could say that I was defeated. I didn't want to believe it.
Another thing I hate is defeat. Being defeated is a really bad feeling, and when you have it, the only desire that comes to mind is the beautiful word that all heroes and villains hear: Revenge.
I got up from the rags that were now useless and I did what most changelings would do, hiss. I didn't want to accept this defeat, not ever, but life is cruel to me, everyone looked at me and I looked at them, their faces were all the same, it was anger, another feeling I'm used to, since every time a subject of mine made a mistake, they were punished in some way, and I didn't feel bad, I learned never to have compassion. That was life after all. After looking at the others, I sat down again, looking at the ground that belonged to my kingdom, another feeling was coming over me at that moment: anguish and sadness, and in order not to be weak, I controlled myself, I didn't like being seen sad by others.
And in the next scene, I began to look up quietly, and I also began to see the pony that had ruined my life, Starlight Glimmer, who, unlike the other ponies, didn't have a single hint of anger on her face, and I couldn't understand why she wasn't angry with me. The answer came when she lifted her hoof and put it on the ground. I remember to this day the only conversation she and I ever had...
"When Twilight and her friends defeated me, I chose to run away and seek revenge "
At the time I hadn't thought about it, but then I asked myself recently, was she evil? Like me? No! As I said, no one is like me, I'm different from the others and I'm proud of that, I'm not like the Equestria ponies where they say that friendship is magic, Starlight Glimmer is the same, isn't she? Also, she's the pupil of the Princess of Friendship herself, something must have happened to her in the past, but who am I to care, right?
"You don't have to! "
I was still looking at her at that moment, her face was either worried or sad, I couldn't tell at that moment, and she has the capacity to tell me what to do! How annoying! I wanted at that moment to throw a strike in her face, who does she think she is! It's a good thing she doesn't know anything about my life, if she did, she'd be in trouble. The desire for revenge is the greatest desire of every villain who is defeated, I saw it once in a story I read, and it was coming true in me.
"You can be the leader your subjects deserve "
She finished her words by looking at me, at this moment I was just looking at her with a certain anguish, I was weak and defeated, otherwise I would have attacked her anyway, she was actually insulting me with such sentimental words, how disgusting, as I said earlier, she doesn't know anything about my life and I bet she doesn't know anything about the changelings, and if she does, it's because of that fearful Thorax. I think Starlight was taking too many risks at the time, honestly, she hadn't thought about the consequences.
At the time, I had thought about what I could have done, I looked down at the ground again, still with a touch of angst in my eyes, I hated it, I didn't like being sad at all. I hadn't mentioned it, the wind was ruffling my hair at the time, if I hadn't been angry, I would have liked it. A few seconds later, I felt something close to me, a kind of vital force, but no, it was just Starlight's hoof moving towards me, and by then I was surprised and still distressed, surprised because... she was giving me a chance to "change". As if I could change into a better changeling, ha!
I went back to looking at Starlight Glimmer, who was now in a different mood, with a confident smile from what I saw, she really thought she could change me right then, it was her chance after all. I was starting to think in different ways, like if I had become a changeling like them or what my life would be like if I accepted that offer. Now I wasn't looking at the ground anymore, but at my hoof, half-soaked in dirt, I was nearly surrendering because of a pony. To this day I don't understand why I was thinking that way, wasn't I evil?
I was about to make the most stupid decision of my life. Just at that hour. In the same place. I was going to embrace the magic of friendship.
Decisions are hard to take, as I looked at her again I began to slowly lift my hoof closer to my face, and then, I would let my soul be given over to that idiot Starlight. My hoof would slowly move closer to her, time passed slowly for me, then I had some more time to think, think and think, deep down in my chest, deep down, there would be one thing that would stop me from doing this, and I knew it. The time had come to seek revenge, after all, I was defeated.
It was very close, very, very close, I wouldn't give in, my eyes were no longer as anguished as before, now they were filled with anger, the strongest feeling inside me was coming out, I controlled my whole body again and, in the end, I raised my hoof again and slapped Starlight's hoof. I admit it was glorious, but it wasn't time to think about it. I saw that she was surprised at that moment, so I didn't care too much.
This was the time to say a few words to the pony who beat me, the pony who ruined my life, Twilight is an exception, but for Starlight, it's even worse. My whole life has been for the only family I've ever had, basically.
"There is no revenge you could ever conceive of that will come close to what I will exact upon you one day, Starlight Glimmer!"
And for the last time I saw the surprised look on Starlight's face, thinking she could change me, I stepped back, and back, instead of the wedding, I would run away, leave what was my kingdom, the blow would be complete. My life would change again. In the end, I jumped, still on my back, the most tense jump of my life. It was the end of my reign, which had been for many, many years. Now came a new era for my former subjects. What a shame.
I hadn't looked back since I jumped, I just kept going, looking for some shelter for myself, and then food and water.
Soon it would be my time again, the time that all these ponies would suffer in my paws, bowing down to me, I never give up, I take risks and I always go for what I want, all my rage will be destined for them from then on, I always come back, I always attack, I always do, it's not for nothing that my name is Chrysalis, the changeling who made history, the changeling who doesn't have love inside her body.
And I will always be a QUEEN .

Hi guys, well, this is my first fanfic about My Little Pony, and I hope you liked it.
First of all, I'm not an English-speaking guy, I'm from Brazil, speaking Portuguese, so I had to use the translator to help me with that, hehe.
Secondly, the fanfic comes from one that's on another site in Portuguese, it's already in the fourth chapter, so I decided to translate it into English.
Thirdly, I warn you that this story begins a little after the events of the season 6 finale (To Where and Back Again).

Chapter 2 - Reflection
It was another evening and the sun was already going down.
Luna's night was already beginning to be seen from the sky.
A pink unicorn mare was arriving at her great home, the famous Castle of Friendship in Ponyville, her name was Starlight Glimmer. She and Discord, the Lord of Chaos, Thorax, now the leader of the changelings and the first to be changed for the better, and Trixie Lulamoon, her best friend, saved Twilight and her friends and the royals from being killed by the tyrant who had already attacked Equestria at the wedding of Princess Cadance and Captain Shining Armor, Queen Chrysalis.
That was one of the biggest defeats that ever happened, and it really has gone down in history.
Starlight was on a walk with her friend Trixie, the day was very tiring as they went to different places and had fun together, even after that day, the two are going out almost every day. Anyway, when she arrived at the castle, she pushed open the door with her magic and went inside, found Spike walking with a book, which was actually a comic book, he was going into the kitchen and Starlight started talking to him.
"Good evening, Spike!"
"Oh, good evening to you too, Starlight!" Spike said, a little distracted "Dinner is almost ready"
"Good, I was getting hungry" Starlight said looking at her belly and Spike just laughed a little.
"Well, that's great, because dinner is going to be very good tonight" Spike said happily and Starlight got excited.
"Oh nice! I'll wait for the call then, see you!" Starlight said and Spike just nodded.
Then, Starlight went to her room to wait for dinner, it wasn't long to gallop there, so she went into her room and started reading some book she'd picked up from the castle library, to pass the time when she was bored or to wait for something, like lunch or dinner for example.
Minutes later, a noise was heard from the Starlight, it was time for dinner.
"Hmmm," Twilight enjoyed the food "I have to admit, Spike, the food is amazing"
"And I have to agree, you nailed it" Starlight admitted.
Dinner was nothing less than pasta with various sauces including apple, tomato, orange and others. It was very good.
"Oh, come on!" Spike was embarrassed by their compliments "It was no big deal"
"No big deal?" Twilight said and glanced at Spike "Spike, if Rarity were here, she would say the same thing"
"Perhaps that's true..." Spike said as he thought.
"I agree with Twilight, it was very tasty food, Spike" Starlight simply agrees with her mentor.
The three of them began to talk about how their day had gone after dinner - it was normal and typical for them to do this.
Three hours after dinner, it was almost midnight, and the three of them decided that the time they all loved had come. Bedtime. They were looking forward to sleeping after a long, exhausting day.
"Uaaaaah!" Spike yawned "Well, it's time for bed, I guess"
"Yes, Spike" Twilight began to yawn too "I'm very tired"
"Absolutely" Starlight said, not yawning but still tired as well.
"Well..." Twilight continues "Shall we sleep?"
"Yeah" They both say at the same time.
"Then good night!" Twilight said and all the others headed for their rooms.
And so it was, Spike, Starlight and Twilight went to their rooms, after a exhausting day, Starlight was only thinking of resting right now, because tomorrow would be a new day in Ponyville, as it always was and always would be. After Starlight closed the door, she went to her bedroom window to look out at the stars that were glowing that night - as usual, they were fantastic and magnificent - and only then did she lie down and start to sleep.
Suddenly, Starlight's eyes began to open, instantly, and she wasn't looking at her room, it was another place, not known to her, that meant one thing. It was a dream.
"Wait..." Starlight starts to look around and says "Am I dreaming?"
One thing Starlight didn't do very often was dream about anything, every time she went to sleep, she didn't dream about anything, and she's used to that, but it seemed that today would be different.
"Oh great... What's going to happen now?"
Starlight was wondering what to do now that she was in a dream, and every time she had a dream there was something haunted or dark, turning it into a nightmare. Looking around her, there was an empty plateau, there was no one around, but the scenery was beautiful by the way, after looking around, Starlight decided to gallop to see if she had any clues as to what this dream was about. Little did she know what to expect.
After looking in many places in the dream, she found nothing, no clues, no noise, except for the relaxing winds that were passing by, so she decided to go to a small lake near where she was and sat down, looking at its reflective face.
"Now I'm wondering what time it is. From how much I've looked, I guess it must be already morning..."
Starlight spoke to herself, there was no one around her really, it wasn't like anyone was around now, was it?
*CLACK*
Starlight finally heard a noise, now it would be the beginning of the dream, she started to hear this noise several times coming from a direction that led to a mountain, she would have to climb the whole mountain to know what she was waiting for. It wouldn't be long now. The weather was starting to get a little wetter than usual each time she climbed, which was strange, because it was actually supposed to be colder, not wetter, for example.
After a few minutes galloping up the humid mountain, she was almost at the top, where her destination would be, then she saw a yellowish light that was in her way, maybe it would be the second clue to find the creature she was going to meet, the sound of *clack * stopped the higher she went, a little more galloping now she finds a green glow and a blue glow, Starlight wondered what it could be but decided to continue on her way, and when she reached the top, the light and the glows came together to form a heart, and in the heart were the three colors, yellow, green and blue, with a touch of red in the middle of it, getting more and more doubtful, she decided to ignore these symbols and then finally reached the top.
When Starlight reached the top, the first thing she did was close her eyes for a second and then take a breath, she was tired after galloping too far, it seemed so real to believe that she had managed to climb a mountain so quickly, when she slowly opened her eyes, she suddenly began to be extremely surprised by what she had just seen. She seemed to be a changeling, she had a light green body with light blue hair with yellow sparkles. And she was crying.
The only thing Starlight could do was to see what was happening to the changeling after all.
"H-hi!" said the unicorn nervously.
"Oh..." the changeling started to look at Starlight and said "Hello"
"Why are you crying?" Starlight asked.
"About that, I don't know..." the changeling said while looking down again "All I know is that I'm nothing in this world"
"Oh, if you want, we can talk," Starlight said and sat next to the stranger "My name is Starlight, and yours?"
"Oh, sorry," the changeling turns around "I have not spoken to anyone in a while, my name is Chryssalide "
"An?" Starlight gets confused and asks "Could you say your name again?"
"I'm sorry again!" again the changeling apologizes and corrects "I forgot you don't speak that language, my name is Chrysalis"
Starlight, after hearing her name, starts to get nervous, but she tries to control herself again and then asks.
"Can you repeat it again?"
"It is Chrysalis!" the changeling shouted loudly and then said "Oh, I'm sorry if it was too loud"
"Oh, don't worry!" Starlight said nervously.
"Eh... Are you alright?" Chrysalis asks.
"Of course I'm alright!" Starlight said with a twisted face.
"Okay, then..." said Chrysalis, who then looked down at her reflection again.
At a moment, Starlight tried to calm down, she was talking to one of the most dangerous creatures in Equestria, but it didn't look dangerous in her eyes for some reason, and she looked different than when she first saw it. She remembered it was a dream later. Starlight decided to talk to her again.
"So," she starts "Why do you think you're nothing in this world?"
"Oh, it's a long story," Chrysalis said, bored "But can I ask you something?"
"Y-yeah," Starlight said a little unsteadily.
"What do you think about me?" Chrysalis asks.
"Wait, what?" Starlight said distractedly.
"Just tell me what do you think about me, pony," Chrysalis said again, looking into the unicorn's eyes.
"Well..." Starlight let out a sigh before answering "You're very beautiful and nice, in my view"
"Really!?" Chrysalis gets a little emotional when she hears this.
"Yes, Chrysalis," Starlight said a little more confident than before.
"Gee, no one has ever said that to me before..." Chrysalis said, a little sadly.
"Really? Why?" Starlight asked Chrysalis.
"They think I'm a monster, a freak, and I'm already used to it," said Chrysalis, sighing later.
"But you're not! Who says that to you?" Starlight asks with concern.
"The ponies themselves... Didn't you know?" Chrysalis asks the unicorn calmly.
"No! I swear!" Starlight exclaims.
"You have come here to call me a monster too, haven't you?" Chrysalis starts to cry.
"No! Why would you think that!?" Starlight was becoming more worried.
"Because I AM A MONSTER!" Chrysalis starts to transform into the form Starlight had seen at least one time before.
The transformation wasn't the same as Cadence's wedding, but it was more dark, terrifying, creepy, seeing a good creature turn evil is very bad for Starlight's eyes, after Chrysalis transforms, she says.
"And now, pony ?" she continues, glaring at the unicorn "What do you think about me!?"
"Chrysalis?" Starlight tried to speak, but got too upset.
"Remember, pony ," before leaving, Chrysalis touches Starlight's shoulder and says "Life is not always fair for everyone "
After that, Chrysalis begins to flutter her wings and flies away to some place in Starlight's own dream, the unicorn just looks at her and becomes more sad than she already was, and concerned.
"Chrysalis!"
She started to chase the changeling, jumping all over the mountain to try to reach her, the terrain was too difficult to run, luckily in the dream you can do unimaginable things, like Discord for example. Starlight galloped faster and tried to caught Chrysalis.
"Chrysalis, please come back!"
It was no help, the changeling just flew further and further away, at such a speed that it was impossible for Starlight to reach it, she tried to use teleportation but it didn't work. She failed again in Chrysalis. Starlight started crying again in an open place in the forest, failing was terrible for her, then suddenly, the dream was shaking, everything was shaking, and finally, the last thing Starlight said was:
"CHRYSALIS!!! "
The dream is over.
"CHRYSALIS!!!"
In the same room as before, Starlight woke up extremely surprised, worried and terrified, a perfect dream that had turned into a terrible nightmare, not that it was usual, but it was with her "enemy". Fortunately, the scream didn't wake Twilight Sparkle and Spike, Starlight took another breath before quickly getting up and heading to her bedroom window. Opening it, she looked out at the great sun of Celestia shining all over Ponyville, it seemed to be about ten o'clock in the morning, which meant that the dream had lasted much longer than imagined.
Starlight reflected on everything, the dream seemed to be an alternative reality in which Chrysalis had become much better, that she led at the side of Thorax, that she had the affection and love of her subjects, that she would be like this because of him. The unicorn thought of one thing: what if it was her past? It was a very clever option, but it would have to be confirmed in some way. How?
Looks like the unicorn had a great idea.
"Don't worry, Chrysalis. I'll help you. I promise."

Chapter 3 - Exploration
Chapter 3 - Exploration
Today I'm asking myself: what day is it?
Recently, I keep asking myself what time it is, what day it is, what year it is. It's getting very strange, I've never felt this way before as far as I can remember, could it be the effects of defeat? One day I'll find out.
These days I'm just exploring all the place I have left after the "Big Blow", and I admit I'm feeling strange things coming from this forest, once I had seen a spirit that was laughing at my face, even if I tried to haunt it too, it was no use, it was too resistant, the other day I saw a tree being killed by a pony that was giant, I wonder if it was my imagination, and I'm thinking that's what it is. Why is this happening to me? Defeat isn't enough, now I'm seeing hauntings coming from an abandoned forest. I was in a cave which, luckily, didn't have any creatures in it, it was near a misty mountain, I say that because it was always so foggy that you couldn't see the top of the mountain, that's not common, on the other side there was a valley, which by the way had red, green and yellow flowers, the forest has three lakes, two of which are near the misty mountain, the third was in the right part of the valley, and led to a beautiful river.
During the day, it's not very complicated to live, not least because no creature is seen by me, I think I must be the only one in this forest, I don't even know which direction I went after I left my Hive. Normally the sun shone a lot, it just didn't shine on that mountain and in some parts where it leads close to a plateau, that's nature. At night is when the nightmares begin, spirits appearing from some unknown place, some whispers coming from trees, lakes making sounds that seem to be strong waves, false landslides, and on special occasions, blizzards that can be sand or others. The place may be beautiful, but it's bizarre.
I've had another problem since I left the Hive: hunger.
Usually, when I wake up, I start to feel my stomach rumbling and I always hiss when this happens, it's like waking up from a nightmare. I hate it when that happens, feeling hungry is the worst thing a changeling could have, and for me it was no different, when I was still leading the Hive, I would eat a portion of love at least every four days, and now since there are no creatures or ponies in the forest, I wouldn't eat any love, why did I get myself into this place...
Combined with the effects of defeat, the ghoulish forest and hunger, it's my worst phase in many, many years of my life, and I swear that one day I'll get out of this place to have my precious revenge on everyone who betrayed me, and especially Starlight Glimmer, that pony...
Today I would wake up in the same way as the rest of the days, scared, distressed and with my stomach rumbling with hunger, as I said, waking up like a nightmare. After opening my eyes, I got up and looked at the day, it was nothing much, just Celestia's sun shining on the entire forest, even though I hated it every morning, I had to put up anyway. I started walking through the forest to see if there was anything new, first by the two mountains, and there was nothing but a dry wind and the eternal fog, then I went to see the three lakes, and all of them, incredible as it may seem, were completely clean, I found it strange since at least one of them was dirty with something, and yesterday I heard the sounds of waves coming from one of the lakes, but continuing on, I passed the plateau that led to an immense darkness, and there was nothing wrong there, and finally, I went to see the valley, and I found something that could be useful, it seemed to be the blood of a creature that had passed through here. It would be time to look into it.
I smelled the blood and the creature seemed to be a manticore, which was interesting, it could be my first prey, I started to follow the trails that went down the valley, it wasn't long before I found the manticore, I was surprised to see that it was already dead, I started to get a little frightened, but I put it aside and went to drain its love, it wasn't much either since it was dead, I was kind of satisfied and eventually, I started to hear voices. These voices were recognizable, but I had to make sure they were. The voice began to speak.
"Chrysalis!!! "
That was the exact moment I realized what this voice was, I started to get very angry and reluctant, it was the pony I hated the most in my entire life, Starlight Glimmer.
"REVEAL YOURSELF! "
"Oh, darling... " The voice said with a slight laugh. "You don't have to be so angry! "
Is it serious that a voice was taunting me in the broad daylight?
"I'm not joking, so where are you!?" I asked, still annoyed.
"How can you not know!? Try to find your little friend, hehe, " the pony's voice said.
"You are NOT my "little friend"!" I said, lifting my hooves at the last word.
"So that's how it's going to be, huh...Chrysalis. "
The only thing I could do now was run away from this bizarre forest, it could be my turn to be killed, I started flying fast down the valley and heading to the plains, but the voice was chasing me.
"Chrysalis! "
I tried to see if there was a voice, but there was no one, as if it were a ghost or an invisible spirit haunting me, I was getting close to the plain and the forest was becoming darker in the face of the bright sun. There's something wrong.
"Chrysalis! "
The voice was still repeating my name as I went down, I reached the plain and headed in a straight direction, I just wanted to get out of this forest and go somewhere safer, even though it's beautiful to stay there, it's dangerous too.
"Chrysalis! Come back!"
Flying for minutes, I reached a sandy plateau, it wasn't the same as the other one, but it seemed to be a division, I stopped to see a little more, there was a small river passing by and another forest ahead, being a little clearer than the one I was in, and it seemed to be a little familiar too. It was my chance to get out of this forest for ever.
"CHRYSALIS!"
And in the end, I jumped, flew down and then passed very close to the river, until I started flying up again and landed in the new forest, no more nightmares in the other forest, fortunately. Time to see what we have here.
When I entered the forest, I saw that there were some lighter and darker parts, just like the other, but I started to explore a little more and realized that there were some places that had creatures, at least this one wasn't abandoned, I found some common ones and some dangerous ones like the Ursa Major, there were also the Cockatrices, which just draining their love wouldn't be a problem for me. Until when I entered one of the open parts of the forest, I came across an isolated structure located after a small bridge, and I recognized what it was.
"The Castle of the Two Sisters"
Having said that, I went inside the castle, there were several things that were still standing, such as parts of the roof, the princesses' rooms, dark and empty hiding places and finally, the library, I smiled at that moment because I would find something useful for my sweet and great revenge. I'd come back later to see more.
Most importantly, I already knew where I was, and my revenge would begin from now on, I will dominate all of Equestria, I will take revenge for everything they did to me! And I'll be queen again, whatever it takes.
Now I was going to stay in the Everfree Forest.
