How They Met

I'll never forget that day, the day I met her...

The cherry blossoms were in full bloom that day. Their scent could be smelled everywhere in town. The school grounds must have been built on an ancient forest. The trunks of some trees were the size of a large car. The canopy was overflowing with flowers nearly blocking out the sky with wave after wave of pink.

Being the new transfer student to Starsswirl Academy was daunting. Yesterday, Dean Celestia insisted on all day full assembly be called of all school years while she presented me to the school. I tried my best to write a speech to introduce myself but I think I bored half the student body and incurred the wrath of the other by the Dean forcing them to be there.

I got the feeling the Dean was not a woman to be fooled with and her idea of having an assembly and me doing a speech with little notice was her concept of a joke. I hoped she wasn't going to interfere with my day to day life here and the students would quickly forget me. I didn't want be the focus of everyone's pranks and practical jokes the whole semester.

After yesterday, I felt like skipping school. I was too worried to eat and sluggishly dressed this morning. I even waited for the rush of students leaving the dorms to die down before I peeked down the empty halls and left my room.

Leisurely strolling down the flowering paths, I wasn't going to rush myself on such a gorgeous day. Plus being late meant the usually clogged paths were empty. I had space and time to look and smell the blossoms.

A slight breeze wafted the blossoms' perfume. I saw a quiet knoll I could rest at and sleep the day away. I thought I saw a vending machine nearby in a nook. I had just enough money for an iced coffee and a sandwich from the machines. That would last me at least until lunchtime when I could get into the busy cafeteria unnoticed.

I carried my schoolbag over my shoulder as I pondered what to do with my new found freedom. Should I sneak off to the arcade or see that new movie?

I turned the corner and heard a noise. Was the disciple committee back to work the second day of school just to punish tardy students? I ducked behind one of the man sized trees and carefully peeked down the path.

That's where I first met her. She was on her haunches and talking in a mesmerizing, sweet, low voice. A shaft of light came through the trees to the spot she was at. I could see her smiling and brushing her long pink hair out of her face.

My heart stopped when I first saw her smile. My cheeks warmed and started blush. I retreated behind the tree and steadied my back against the trunk. I used my handkerchief to wipe the forming sweat off my forehead. I closed my eyes to forget her, but the image of her smile was burned in. My heart thudded again. I wanted her to smile like that for me.

I snuck closer to see who she was talking to. In the light, her skin was giving off a radiance and her smile melted me to the core. I could now clearly see she wasn't talking to a person at all but to a white rabbit. I lost my grip and my arms flailed as I hit the ground.

She was startled and gave a little squeak. She swiftly turned and in her movements her skirt lifted enough to reveal pink panties with a cute rabbit. My body warmed and tingled. She looked like she was going to run but halted herself and approached me.

I felt a trickle run across my head and blind my eyes.

The girl covered her mouth and gasped, "oh my!" Those were the last words I heard before it went dark.

I slowly woke up on something soft. I could hear a gentle, sweet humming. Something was draped on my forehead, covering my eyes and I felt a hand stroking my hair.

My hands touched the warm, soft skin my head was resting on. My hand travelled up and under some cloth. I explored further and I felt soft flesh give way to soft cloth.

"Please don't touch me there," a soft voice pleaded.

My head jerked, freeing the cloth from my eyes. I saw that girl blushing and looking down at me. Her long pink hair was drooping down and touching me. Her gorgeous green eyes reflecting her soft caring soul within. With great willpower, I broke my gaze with those loving eyes to find my hand. I turned away and felt her hair caress my face. I looked at my hand and saw it had gone up her skirt. The soft cloth I was touching must be her panties! I quickly moved my hand away and struggled to get up.

She pushed me down and looked concerned. "You hit your head, the bleeding was just awful. I've only treated animals before, so you were my first human patient." She beamed her beautiful smile.

I instantly relaxed and stopped my struggle. I looked further and realized that my head was resting on her thighs. I could smell the faint smell of flowery perfume.

"Are you ok?" she said.

I nodded yes.

She took the cloth off my head and moved hers closer to mine. She closed her eyes and pressed her forehead to mine. My heart stopped and I forgot to breathe. She finally exhaled and pulled away.

"You don't seem to have a temperature but you still have a pretty bad gash. Let me help you up," she said. Her delicate arms reached under mine and cradled my chest.

I pushed myself up and my head brushed past her stomach and chest. My head stopped at her breasts. I looked and saw her blush.

She pulled me even closer and finally my arms found their strength. My hands pushed against the grass and I got up.

I bent over and offered my hand to her. She hesitantly looked away and blushed. She peeked through her hair and delicately grabbed my hand and I pulled her up.

I saw the handkerchief in her hand and immediately realized her worry. It was almost completely soaked with blood. I had always bled easily since childhood and it always seemed to take a long time to stop. It wasn't a bad one, but any normal person would have been concerned.

I tried to nonchalantly brush it off. "Oh, I've always bled easily. This amount is normal for me."

She looked me in the eye unsatisfied but eased off once when she felt I wasn't lying.

"Then you should be even extra careful. Still I want you to go to the nurse," she said. She looked away and said in a quieter tone, "I'm worried about you."

My heart thudded again. Such a pretty girl would worry about me? I managed to say a soft, "ok."

She smiled again and this time it was all for me.

My head suddenly swooned. The lack of breakfast, loosing blood and the rush of a pretty girl smiling at me was too much for me to handle.

She quickly moved and before I knew it she was on my side supporting my weight. My reflexes made me move away but her arm circled me and held me tighter. My heart jumped into my throat and I blushed.

"I knew something was wrong. We're going to the nurse now," she said. Her tone was more forceful and more forward.

She pulled me along the path to the main building. Her pink hair brushed against my face. I smelled her hair. Her shampoo smelled like spring and flowers.

"Your breathing is strange too," she said

I blushed and said, "I'm just smelling something beautiful."

"Oh yes, the cherry trees are all in bloom. It smells so wonderful this time of year," she said.

"Yes, very beautiful…I never asked your name," I said.

"Eep," she squeaked. She stopped completely and I jolted into her.

"Well, my name is Fluttershy," she said softly. "I saw you during the assembly when Dean Celestia introduced you. You're BLANK BLANK," she said.

Damn that Celestia, I wanted the school to forget about me and that damn assembly as soon as possible. "Yes the assembly. Now everybody knows who I am. But I don't know anybody and I still don't know my way around," I said.

"Would… would you care to show me around?" I asked. "How about you be my oneesama?" I asked.

Fluttershy blushed. "Oh, no no no. I can't be your oneesama. The responsibility is too great," she said.

I really screwed that up. If she didn't feel I would drop to the ground the moment she let go, she'd have run away already. I had to stop her nervousness.

"How about my onichan?" I asked.

That was even worse. "Your little sister, like we live in the same house?" said Fluttershy. She blushed even more.

I could feel her starting to let me go to run away. I had to do something now.

"How about Shy-chan?" I asked

This seemed to break her train of thought and she gripped me tighter.

"Ooh, I like that!" she said and she beamed a big smile at me.

My knees went weak again at the sight of her smile and she caught me in time.

"Oh dear, no more talking. We need to get you to the nurse," she said concerned.

We slowly came up to the main building. My blush wasn't going away. Soft Fluttershy propping me up and her firm on me guaranteed that.

A shriek and a scuffle could be heard behind us. We both turned to see a small white rabbit chased by three large ravenous dogs.

Fluttershy gasped in horror and screamed, "No Angel bunny!"

The rabbit must have followed us from the trail and attracted the attention of these dogs. The dogs bit viciously at the rabbit but by twisting and turning he avoided their lunges. He came closer and gave a salute. Then he gave a last longing stare at Fluttershy as if to say thank you for everything and good-bye forever at the same time.

Fluttershy screamed again and loosened her grip on me. I pounced on top of the white rabbit and shielded him with my chest and hands. There was a flash of fangs and sprinkles of blood.

Between the blur of dogs I saw Fluttershy's look become intense and powerful.

"No! Stop now!" Fluttershy commanded. The words sent a shiver down my spine and the dogs whimpered and groped at the ground.

I saw her worried look at me before I fainted once again. Blacking out twice in front of a beautiful girl in the same day. She must think I'm weak and stupid. I don't have a chance in hell with her.

I woke with a startle in the school infirmary. The smell of disinfectant and medicine assaulting my nostrils. Someone was holding my hand. I looked up and saw Fluttershy there. She gave me a nervous smile and I noticed a lump in her blouse. A white rabbit's head peeked out.

I chuckled and said, "You have something in your blouse."

She gave me a quizzical look and glanced at her chest. "Oh, Angel bunny," she said.

"He wants to thank you for saving him in time," she said. She cupped her hands and he obediently hopped into them. She brought him closer to me and he held out his right paw.

I chuckled again and put out a finger to him. He enthusiastically grabbed my finger with both paws and shook my finger vigorously. Then he turned and in one leap jumped back into Fluttershy's blouse. She giggled when his feet got stuck and he wiggled in.

Nurse Redheart parted the privacy screen and said, "Good you're up."

She gave a sturn glance at Fluttershy and said, "You better not have brought an animal in here again Ms. Shy."

Fluttershy crossed her free hand over her chest and squeaked, "no."

Nurse Redheart brought her attention back to me. "The lacerations are superficial and will heal quickly. I've already given you a painkiller for that," she said.

Nurse Redheart became even more serious. "I still have to give you a rabies vaccine to be on the safe side. I have to give it to you now, I hope you're ready," she said. Oh no, I hate shots. I accidentally squeezed Fluttershy's hand tighter.

"Ow!" she winced and blinked her eyes.

"I sorry Shy-chan, I…dislike shots," I said and loosed my grip.

"It's ok," she said. "I don't like them too," and smiled.

Nurse Redheart filled a syringe and squirted out the air bubbles.

"This will sting just a moment," she said. She wiped my skin with a towelette and pinched a piece of skin.

I quickly turned away and met Fluttershy's eyes. I panicked and wanted to bolt out of the bed.

Fluttershy read me and patted my head. She softly cooed, "It's ok, don't worry. It'll all be over before you know it."

I felt the sting of the needle and the burn of the vaccine. I winced again and squeezed Fluttershy's hand again.

"See now, I told you not to worry. She's already done," I heard her say. I opened my eyes to see her beaming smile and felt her stroking my head.

I gazed in wonder at her beautiful smile. Maybe the painkillers or maybe almost being maimed made me brave, but I couldn't believe the next words out of my mouth.

"Would you go out with me, Shy-chan?" I managed to say without sounding too nervous.

Fluttershy gave a little gasp and beamed a wide smile again.

The painkillers were too strong for me and sleep began to over take me. My eyelids became heavy and droopy. Idiot, I thought to myself. No girl would want to go out with a loser that keeps fainting and is afraid of shots in front of a beautiful girl.

Before I drifted off into sleep, I thought I heard a loving "yes" and a soft kiss on my forehead.
