A Murder In Ponyville
"Order, order!" Mayor Mare shouted over the screaming crowd.
The crowd either didn't hear her or didn't want to.
A resident of Ponyville had been found mutilated late last night; his body dumped in the alley behind Sugar Cube Corner.  Time Turner was his name, or Doctor Whooves as the rest of the town had grown to calling him.
His cutie mark had been cut from his flank with medical precision and his throat slit open; the killing blow.  Unfortunately for the doctor, the gashes and burns along his body seemed to speak of his torture before his death.  But why was he tortured? And by who?
As the crowd below began to grow more rowdy, a purple unicorn took the place next to Mayor Mare and cleared her voice.
"EVERYPONY CALM DOWN!" Twilight Sparkle shouted, her voice echoing on even after the crowd had grown silent.  She'd have to thank Princess Luna later for teaching her the proper way to use the Royal Canterlot Voice; it was much more than simple yelling.  "Now, I know that you're all very scared but panicking wont help us find the killer.  I've already sent a letter to Princess Celestia, and a small detachment of Royal Guards will be here shortly to help us investigate.  I...I can't promise anything, but if we do manage to find out who did this...Please treat them as if they were any other pony so that they can stand a fair trial."
