King Sombra has conquered half of Equestria and he is looking to make Canterlot his next target, controlling his formidable slave army to lay siege to the capital, however, he is met with a staggering force of Princess Celestia and Luna's army, who had come to the Crystal Empire to seemingly put an end to the tyrant's cruel ambition.

The purpose of taking the fight to Sombra himself was to buy time for the celestial sisters; a reason none of the soldiers truly understood, but they trusted in their rulers. The army fought valiantly, but it was for naught, as they were wiped out by King Sombra's forces.

Among the dead bodies of his comrades and friends, a single soldier stands as the final opposition to King Sombra's ruinous march to the heart of Equestria's capital, Canterlot.

He needed to buy time until his princesses arrived, and he was more than able and willing to do so by any means he could, even at the cost of his life.
