"Whoa." They said in union. "Hey Daniel you out here, oh." Gilda poked her head out the door to the balcony. She started  to back away but Daniel spoke up. "Hey Gilda, whatchya need?" Daniel said, pulling away from Ditzy. "Oh, nothing, I just needed to know where you were." Gilda said, quickly turning around. "Think we should get back to the party?" Daniel asked. "Well she did kind of ruin the moment, didn't she." Ditzy giggled slightly, then stepped towards the door, followed by Daniel. Right before Ditzy opened the door she brushed her tail across Daniel's face, and he stumbled back in shock and surprise, then fell over the balcony onto the ground below. "Uh, sorry." Ditzy said, giggling as Daniel flew back and landed, his wings quickly dissapearing. "Uh, yeah, no problem." Daniel said, shaking it off, they stepped inside. The party had died down quite a bit, and most ponies were gone. The only ones left were Rainbow Dash, Spike, Twilight, and a large red stallion earth pony that Daniel hadn't noticed before, talking with another lighter brown stallion. "Hey, I need to get to bed everypony, so does Spike, so it's time to go!" Twilight called out, the other ponies nodded. **  **  ** "Good night Ditzy." Daniel said, hugging the small pegasus on her doorstep. "Good night Danny, see you tomorrow." Ditzy yawned towards the end, and as did Daniel. She closed the door, and Daniel left, walking towards the park, and jumped into the first tree he saw, and he was asleep in seconds. It had been a long week. Daniel woke to the loud yelling of somepony, he quickly fell out of the tree. "Whoa, wait, what? Who?" Daniel got up quickly, and changed his sword into his tail even faster. looking around him, he saw nopony, so he let his tail change back. "That was wierd." Daniel said, groggily wiping his eyes. He was suddenly poked with a hoof. "It talks?" A female voice said behind him. Daniel rolled his eyes. "It has a name, and it's name is Daniel." Daniel said, turning around, and saw Rainbow Dash. Or at least, Rainbow Dash in greyscale, with a tan coat. "Rainbow Dash? What the heck is up with your coat?" Daniel said, laughing slightly. "Rainbow Dash? You mean that chick from the elements of harmony?" The pony said. "Uh, well, yes, that would be the one I'm reffering to." Daniel said, now confused. "Well, you got the wrong pony kid, maybe you've heard of me, name's Doo, Daring Doo." Daring said, holding out her hoof. Daniel took it. "Can't say I have, but it's always nice to meet somepony new I guess, wait, did you say Doo? You wouldn't happen to be related to a Miss Ditzy Doo, would you?" Daniel asked quickly. "Well, yes, actually that's why I'm in town, she's my sister, she wrote me a letter about some new guy in town, and how she's now dating him, so I came to make sure he was okay." Daring said. "Well, I was planning on heading over there myself, and if my hunch is correct, I think there may be some blue berry muffins in store for us!" Daniel said cheerfully, making sure that Daring still didn't know that this "New Guy" was him. Daniel knocked on Ditzy's door. "Oh hey Daniel! Just a moment!" Ditzy called, in a few seconds the door was opened, and Ditzy stood there. "Wait, you knew he was coming?" Daring said suddenly, and Ditzy jumped several feet in the air out of shock. "Daring? What are you doing in town? Don't get me wrong it's always nice to see a fellow immortal, but what brings you here?" Ditzy asked. "Can't a sister visit a sibling?" Daring said, Ditzy gave her a flat look. "Fine, I came to assess your new coltfriend, to make sure he checks out okay. Oh and don't purple moutains look lovely in the winter?" Daring finished. "What?" Daniel asked, Ditzy stood frozen in fear for some reason. "Daring, if you tell me, you tell Daniel, what do you need." Ditzy said, gulping. "What? I can't tell him! He doesn't even know!" Daring exclaimed. "Show her." Ditzy said. Daniel nodded, and shifted to his pony form, then back again. "Another thing I forgot to mention Daring, I'm the fifth." Daniel said with a smile. "Oh. Well, that explains alot, okay, I need your help Ditzy, a temple has been found deep in the jungle of the Griffin's Empire, I need your help to get to it." Daring said, adjusting her safari hat. "Well, okay, I need a good Daring Do adventure, the demands for the next book have been crazy! okay, let's go, Daniel come on!" Ditzy said cheerfully. "He can't come." Daring said. "He's coming, along with a few others." Ditzy said. "Like who?" Daring asked, now annoyed. "Like my friend Gilda." Daniel said, Ditzy nodded in agreement. "Fine, just hurry up, will ya?" Daring said. She really did remind Daniel of Rainbow Dash quite a bit. Arrogant, cocky, and probably loyal as well. "Glad to see you see it my way!" Ditzy said cheerfully, and then walked out the door. "Oh, and Daniel," Daring said. Daniel nodded, "If you hurt my sister, I'll find a way to end your immortal bucking life." Daring said venomlously. //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter One- The Drunken Dragon //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter One- The Drunken Dragon "Well, here we are!" Ditzy said, standing in front of a door to a place called The Drunken Dragon. Standing with her was Daring, Gilda, and Daniel. "Uh, Ditzy, why are we standing in front of a bar?" Daniel asked. "It's an old tradition to get an adventure started in a bar between the two of us!" Daring said, marching in. Ditzy followed, leaving Gilda and Daniel behind. "You know, I thought the wierdness would have stopped when you killed Bane." Gilda said, stepping inside herself. Daniel chuckled at this, silently agreeing, and stepped inside himself. He was met with a sight that he never expected. An old fashioned bar. It smelled strongly of alchohol. A piano nearby was playing (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p5rhLuFiDlg&feature=relmfu) itself, and all the ponies seemed to be having a good time. It was almost old western style, with several futuristic style lighting fixtures and booths. Daniel saw the other three sitting at a booth, so he walked over, and slid in himself. "So uh, what kind of drinks do they got here?" Daniel asked. "We got everything from sasperilla to rum!" The waitress came up, she wore a tag on her suit that said Applebloom. Her cutie mark was that of a mug with an apple on the side of it, in the mug was a frothy alchoholic drink. The little filly didn't look to be older then ten. "Whoa, aren't you that little blank flank filly from when I saw you last time? What did you call yourself, a Cutie mark invader?" Gilda said. "First of all, it's cutie mark crusader, and second of all, yes. I own this here bar now, and making drinks and running this buisness is my job!" She said cheerfully. "Now what'll ya'll be havin now?" "I'll take a whisky." Daring said. "Just a root beer for me." Gilda said. "I'll take a beer." Ditzy said. They turned towards Daniel. Daniel may have been underage back on earth, but here he was well past the legal drinking age, and he also had a few drinks back on earth every now and again. "Well I guess I'll take a hard apple cider." Daniel said. "Will that be all?" Applebloom asked. Everypony nodded. She left to get the drinks. "Okay, so what's in the temple Daring?" Ditzy asked. Daring chuckled slightly. "I'll tell you when--" "Drinks are here! Oh, and it's on the house for ya'll, thanks ta Daring here saving my bar on her last treck!" Applebloom said, then trotted away. "You were saying?" Daniel said. "Oh yes, well, in the temple is said to be an ancient object, that only the chosen fifth can hold." Daring said, taking a gulp of her rum as if it were water. Everypony at the table turned towards Daniel. Daniel took a sip of his cider, and shrugged. "We'll just have to see, won't we." He said. Suddenly the bar door opened once again, and Rainbow Dash came walking in, passing our booth she stopped, and her eyes grew wide. "Oh. My. Celestia. You're, you're, you're--" Dash was staring directly at, "Daring Doo, pleasure to meet you." Daring stuck her hoof out. Rainbow took it and shook it. "Hey Rainbow! Why don't you sit down and have a drink with us?" Dainel asked. "Whoa, Daniel? You know Daring Doo!?" Rainbow said excitedly. "Just met her today, come on sit down, I think we need you on this mission." Daniel said cheerfully, Daring glared at him. "What? She's great! She's got alot of the same traits as you do Daring." Daniel said. "Fine, she come along as well." Daring said, chugging some more rum. "Awesome! So what exactly are we doing?" Rainbow said, sliding next to Daniel. "Drinking, at the moment, and discussing the plans, there is a temple that I have to go to, along with Ms. K. J Reeling here." Daring said, motioning to Ditzy. "Whoa, wait a minute, Ditzy, you're K. J. Reeling?" Rainbow said excitedly. Ditzy nodded, sipping her beer. "Don't tell anypony." She said. "So you write the Daring Doo books? Should've guessed." Gilda said, laughing a little. "So how are we to get started?" Daniel asked. "Well first we have to get to the Griffin Empire." Daring said. "And how are we going to do that?" Daniel asked. "Easy, we'll get plane tickets!" Ditzy said. Daring nodded. "Plane tickets? That's kind of, I don't know, not so adventurous." Dash said. "Sorry, can't always be danger around every corner, you do realize that I am a college professor, right? It's not always exciting." Daring said. "Right, okay." Dash said. Suddenly the doors opened once more, and in walked Spike, followed closely by Owluicious, and with Peewee on his shoulder. Applebloom looked up from the glass she was cleaning, and set it down. Running up to Spike, she threw her arms around him and kissed him. "Hey Applebloom." Spike said. "Where were you this past week? I've been worried sick!" Applebloom said. "Oh, uh, I was, um, helping out Daniel with something." Spike said. "Well, next time, tell me, alright?" Applebloom said. "Alright, you wouldn't happen to know where Daniel and Ditzy are, would you?" Spike asked, Applebloom smiled and got off of him, then pointed towards our booth. Spike ran over. "Hey! Whoa, wait, Daring Doo? That means one thing!" Spike said excitedly. "And what would that be?" Daniel asked. "You guys are going on another adventure! And I'm coming with!" Spike said. Applebloom overheard, and walked over. "What do ya mean, another adventure?" She said. "Uh, well, I, um." Spike said. "We just recently went on a treck in the Everfree, and had a run in with some Timber Wolves a couple of days ago." Daniel said quickly. Everypony else nodded. Daniel took another gulp of cider. "So what's the adventure this time?" Spike asked. "Well, we are going to be going to an ancient temple never been explored before, probably full of traps, and a reward at the end worth two Ponyville's, and evil dastardly villains around every turn!" Rainbow Dash said excitedly. Spike's smile widened, as did Applebloom's eyes. "Well, now that you two know, you might as well come along for the ride." Daring muttered. The door to the burst open suddenly. A large male griffin stepped in, wearing a tuxedo, and had two thug looking stallions behind him. "Oh shit!" Daring muttered. "We have to go, Bloom, do ya got a back door?" Daring said. "Well I guess, but it's only for emergencies." Applebloom said. "This is an emergecy." Daring said. "Why?" Applebloom asked. "There she is, Daring, give us the map!" The griffin yelled. "No way Coin!" Daring yelled back. "Get her." The griffin said, the two stallions charged forward, right towards Daring, but Daring jumped out of the way, and they hit a table. Daniel jumped in to help her fight, as did Ditzy and Gilda. "Found some friends I see Ms. Doo, not much good, these stallions aren't my normal brutes." The griffin said. The two stallions, earth ponies by the looks of it, stood up on their hind legs, and starting running forward as such, and both aimed large kicks at Daring. Daniel quickly kicked the one on the left, while Daring ducked the one on the right. "Run!" Daring yelled, we didn't need a second opinion. The front door was blocked though. "Where's the back door AB?" Spike yelled. Applebloom ran towards the bar, and jumping over it she motioned us to follow, we quickly exited through a door in the back of the heavy alchohol freezer. They continued sprinting down towards the airport, Daring taking out a huge bag of bits. "Quick I need five tickets to the next flight to The Griffin empire!" She yelled, we were already at the front desk. "And your pets?" The pony at the desk asked. "Just get us carriers!" Daring yelled. The lady went around back, and looking through the glass of the door they had just came through, the Griffin, along with the two earth ponies were running forward. The lady came back and three carriers with her. "Here you are." The lady sat back down. She also passed five tickets towards us. "Only first class, sorry if you can't afford that." She said. Daring threw the bag of bits on the desk, and took the her ticket, and all three carriers. "Keep the change!" Daring called over her shoulder. The lady stared wide eyed at the bag. "I'm rich!" She yelled. Daniel rolled his eyes and went to grab his ticket, but got his hand slapped by the lady. "No, bad, creature, thing." She scolded. "Is that what the third carrier was for? You bitch." Daniel growled, stunning the mare at the desk, and he grabbed his own ticket and ran after Daring, followed closely behind by the others. The ticket called for the second floor of the airport, and just as they got to the escalator, the Griffin and the two stallions burst in and found them. "Shit!" Daniel yelled once again. Daniel, Daring, Ditzy, Gilda, Spike, and Applebloom started running up the escalator and pushed everypony out of their way. "There it is!" Daring yelled, pointing at the way to gates 21-30. They shoved the ponies in line out of the way, and stopped at the metal scanner. The guardspony was about to yell at us for budging in line, but then stopped. "Darin? What is it this time?" He asked. "Jack, you got to let us through, we're being chased!" Daring said to the guardspony named Jack. Jack nodded. "Let them through!" He called, and they ran towards the gate. "NOW BOARDING GATE 22." A friendly, and rather bored stallion's voice said. "That's our flight!" Daring said, and rushed forward to the gate, followed by the others, all shoving the tickets to the mare attendant at the desk in front of the gate, she saw Daring and Ditzy and nodded, not asking any questions, letting them all pass through. They jumped into the plane, and got in their seats. they heard sounds of a fight in the hall, the plane was already filled. "This is your pilot speaking," A mare's voice came on in the intercom, "Please buckle up your seat belts, and remain seated." She said. The plane's doors began to slowly close, and the griffin was running towards it. "Shit!" Daniel repeated loudly in the large space, he got several odd looks but didn't care, the doors to the plane closed, and they were already moving, and the plane took off. they all let out sighs of relief. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------A/N-- Well, here we go, the first chapter, and we are already started! Daring said, laughing softly. "Attention passengers, you are free to move about the cabin." The pilot's voice came on. Most ponies and Griffins unstrapped their seat belts and went out of the cabin itself, and into the other areas. "Where are they going?" Daniel asked. "To eat, use the restroom, play games, that sort of thing." Daring answered. "Wait, what do you mean eating and playing games? That didn't happen last time I was on an airplane. Granted I was only four at the time, but the point still stands." Daniel said. "Then you, my friend, have never flown first class." Daring said, pulling a book from her pocket. (Yes ponies have pockets, don't ask how, cause frankly, I don't know) "Well, I'm going to have a look around then." Daniel replied. Daring just nodded and waved him off. Daniel went to the curtain, and stepped through, he was met with yet another unexpected sight. Another bar. Stepping inside, he sat at the bar itself. "Whoa, what in the name of Celestia?" The bartender, a male griffin, came up. "Hello to you as well." Daniel said flatly. "How much for a drink?" Daniel asked. "Teel ya what, give me a conversation, and I'll give you a bottle of beer." The bartender said. Daniel shrugged, then nodded. "Alright." Daniel said with a shrug. "Name's Blaze." The griffin said, holding out his claw. "Daniel." Daniel met his claw with his hand. "Nice to meet you Daniel, so what brings you aboard this plane?" Blaze asked. Daniel noticed that Blaze's fearthers atop his formost head were yellow. Most had blue at the tips. "Uh, I have a date." Daniel said. "A date? She rich or something? Kind of expensive to take a boyfriend on a first class airline." Blaze said, grabbing a beer and sliding it over to Daniel. "Well, kind of. How do you know if I wasn't the one who paid for all of this?" Daniel said, wondering why it was assumed that a mare had paid for the trip. "Because it ain't right to make the stallion pay for the date." Blaze said. "Really? Because where I come from it's quite the opposite." Daniel said. "Where do you come from then?" Blaze asked. "Well originally, not from Equestria, I came from a different place far away, known as earth." Daniel said. "Glad I can put it behind me though." He added with a sip of the bitter alchohol. "Earth? Hm, never heard of it, what's it like?" Blaze asked. "Horrible, if you ever get the chance to go there, one tip, don't." Daniel said with a rueful chuckle. "Gotchya." Blaze said with a chuckle of his own. "So Daniel, who's your date? If you don't mind me askin of course." "Oh, uh, Ditzy Doo. You probably don't know who she is." Daniel said. "Don't know Ditzy? She rides this airline all the time, sister of Daring Doo, usually goes on adventures with her, sometimes with whole groups!" Blaze said. "Wait, you aren't going on an adventure are you?" Blaze asked. "Why else would we all be on a plane Blaze?" Daring came up and sat at the bar. "Ah, Daring, how ya doin? Been a while! What's it this time?" Blaze asked, leaving Daniel to his drink, which Daniel took another gulp of. "I found the map to the temple of war, and it leads us to the Griffin Empire." Daring said with a happy smirk. "Wait, as in the temple of war? That Faust created to protect the weapon that only the great fifth legendary alicorn of legend can hold?" Blaze said his eyes growing wide as he whispered the last part. "Is there any other?" Daring said with a laugh. "So, is there any room on the team?" Blaze asked. "For you, of course!" Daring said. Ditzy and Gilda walked in. "Whoa, this plane has a bar?" Gilda said disbelievingly. "You betchya, whoa." Blaze stopped talking and smiling for a sec, staring at Gilda. "Gilda?" Blaze said. "Blaze?" Gilda said. "Wow! I haven't seen you in ages! How are you little sis?" Blaze said. "Oh you know, just chillin." Gilda said, sitting at the bar. "So, you going on this adventure as well?" Blaze said. "You know it!" Gilda said. Spike walked in as well, followed by Rainbow Dash. "Whoa, another bar?" Spike said. "Yup." Daniel said, sipping again at the beer. "Well, looks like we got the team fully assembled!" Applebloom said, coming up behind Rainbow Dash. "Yup, good to see you again Blaze!" Ditzy said. "Hey Ditzy!" Blaze said cheerfully. Daniel finished his beer, then dumped it in the nearby trash. "Attention Passengers, we will be landing soon, please return to your seats and strap in your seatbelts." The pilots voice came in. "I'll meet up with you Daring as soon as I get off this flight, wait by the gate doors." Blaze said. And thus, for sure this time, the team was made. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------A/N-- Awe yeah! //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 3- The Bolts //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 3- The Bolts "As I was saying before Spitfire, the game here doesn't have the Shadowbolts signed up. Nightshade told me about training the wierdest thing with wings she's ever seen!" She said it stood on two legs, and could grow its wings on command!" A blue pony said, stepping off the plane with a flame maned one. "I don't believe what your sister said, there is no way a thing like that, other than say a wyvern hydra mix breed or something." Spitfire, the second one said, they both chuckled. "Good point, I mean -- Whoa OOF!" Soran tripped and plowed right into another person. "Oh, uh sorry, when I'm not in the air, I'm such a clutz." Soran said, his head still spinning. "That's okay, but could you get off of me maybe?" Daniel said. Soran rolled off of him, and they both got up. "Well, bye." Daniel said, walking back over to his group. Soran just stood there staring. "Uh, wait!" Soran said. "Uh, okay." Daniel said. "Can you grow wings?" Soran asked. "Uh, yeah, I guess, why?" Daniel was getting a little creeped out now. "Show me." Soran said, taking a step forward. "Uh, okay...?" Daniel's wings flared open. "You're begining to creep me out." "You must be that new recruit my sister Nightshade was talking about." Soran said. "Oh, well that explains alot, sort of." Daniel hesitated a moment. "My name's Daniel." Daniel stuck his hand out. "Soran, any friend of my sister, is a friend of mine. Save for Stratus, he creeps the hell out of me." Soran shuddered. Daniel nodded in agreement. "I agree, I chose from the start to just steer clear of him, although, he reminds me of somebody I know, I just can't place my finger on it." Daniel said. "Finger? What's that?" Soran asked confused. "Oh, uh, these." Daniel said, holding out his hands, and wiggling his fingers. "Oh, well, alright, well, shouldn't you be in the Everfree right now training?" Soran asked, Spitfire walked up. "Oh, crap, well, I'm going to get beaten to a pulp, but it's going to be worth it, most likely." Daniel said, with a chuckle. "So what are you doing here?" Soran asked. "Oh, uh, exploring." Daniel said, thinking of a lie. "Daniel, come on, the map says tha- Oh. My. Celestia." Dash stopped talking suddenly, staring at Soran and Spitfire. "First Daring Doo, now the Wonderbolts? Best day ever!" She finished. "Hey, your Rainbow Dash right? you placed first in the young fliers competition." Spitfire said. "You recognise me?" Dash said. "Well kid, you kind of are one to remember, I mean who could forget the sonic rainboom? It was amazing! Or so I've heard, I wasn't actually awake when I saw it." Spitfire said, rubbing the back of her neck. "That's right, Rarity knocked you out, sorry about that." Dash said. "Nah, it's cool." Spitfire said. "So, are you two on a date then?" Soran said. "Uh, no." Daniel said. "No way!" Dash exclaimed. "Alright no need to get angry, I was just asking, I mean he is kind of cute." Soran said. "Whoa dude, take it back just a little bit." Daniel said, his face getting red. " I don't exactly swing that way, if you know what I mean." He finished, wishing he could just be out of there. "Oh, sorry." Soran said, red showing through his blue fur. "It's cool, I don't really care, besides, my girlfriend is right over there." Daniel pointed to Ditzy who wasa grapping a coffee. "So, Dash, what are you doing in the Griffin Empire then?" Spitfire asked. "Oh, uh, well, tell her Daniel." Dash said. "What, oh, we came, to see your show!" Daniel said. "I thought you said exploring" Spitfire said. Soran, glad for the distraction, spoke up, "What does it matter Spitfire? They would have to be going on an adventure with Daring Doo to make me care." Of all times for Daring to walk up, life chose that exact moment. "Dan, Dash, come on, we have to check in to our hotel." She said. "Okay, now I'm curious." Soran said. "We are going on a treck into the jungle, you'll read about in my next book, most likely." Daring said, trotting away. "See you later." Daniel said with a wave. "Uh, bye, I guess." Spitfire said with a wave of her own. "Wierdest day ever." Soran said. "Uh huh." Spitfire said. "Although that Rainbow Dash is kind of cute." Spitfire said. "You know, I just realized something." Soran said. "Yeah?" Spitfire said. "Both the captain, and second in command of the Wonderbolts, are both about as straight as a rainbow." Soran said, laughing. "Let's go." Spitfire said rolling her eyes. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------A/N--There is a point to this chapter, and that point will be shown later in the story. Also, yet again, this chapter came out as a pile of changeling shit, I rewrote it weveral times, and I still don't like it, oh, and the adventure is begining in a couple of chapters. //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 4- Dreams, beds, and love //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 4- Dreams, beds, and love Daniel began walking along, next to him was Ditzy. She smiled at Daniel. "I love you Daniel." Ditzy said. "I love you to Ditzy." Daniel said. The streets were void of anypony, except them. Suddenly Ditzy screamed, and Daniel began falling. "Daniel!" Ditzy cried out in horrible pain. The scream echoed around in the void that Daniel now found himself falling into. "We know of you." A raspy voice whispered. The voice had a single echo on the last word, that hit Daniel's ears louder than the actual voice. It also seemed to have two echos side by side, right before it actually spoke. "What you seek is dangerous." The raspy voice whispered. "What do I seek?" Daniel asked, fearing for his life now, as he fell down further into the endless void. "You do not yet know, but you will soon find out. Truths will be revealed, loyalties tested, and one, will not make it back." The voice rasped. "What do you mean one will not make it back?" Daniel said, still falling deeper. "Seven of you came, but six will come back, another lost forever." The last word stood out. Forever. It seemed to ring on and on, but at the same time, it was quiet. Daniel found himself in a field, full of green grass, and blue skies. "It knows you Daniel." The voice said. The sky began to grow dark, until nothing but the brightly colored green grass was left. "It knows of what you love, and of what you hate." The voice continued. "What is it?" Daniel asked. Suddenly across the never ending field, was a glow, the glow felt happy, and it beckoned towards Daniel, beside Daniel, once again stood Ditzy. "Daniel, don't leave me, I can't live without you." Ditzy said urgently. "I'm not, let's go together." Daniel said, feeling the warmth beckon him. "I can't, if you go to it, I won't be able to follow." Ditzy said. "What?" Daniel said, but Ditzy was gone, and all that was left was the glow, Daniel ran towards it, but the glow didn't grow, instead it shrank, until finally nothing was left, and Daniel heard Ditzy's scream once more. "Daniel!" She yelled. "Daniel, where are you!" She screamed. "Daniel help!" Ditzy yelled once more. "I can't! Where are you!" Daniel yelled. "Daniel!" Daniel was falling yet again, falling, with Ditzy calling for him, but he could not go. "It knows you Daniel, it knows everything about you. What you are searching for, will change you." The voice said, sounding closer then it had been. Daniel was standing in front of a large stone temple looking building, vines curled up arond on it, and the door was sealed shut. Standing next to him was the rest of the team. "Daniel you need to open it, you are the only one who can." Daring said. Daniel took a step forward, and began falling once again. "Daniel..." "Daniel..." "Daniel..." "Daniel..." "Daniel..." "Daniel..." "Daniel..." "DANIEL!" Ditzy's voice woke Daniel up quite suddenly, and he nearly fell out of the tree that was near the hotel room's window. "Oh, uh, hey Ditzy." Daniel said, his dream slowly fading away to the back of his mind. "You were yelling bloody murder out here, what's wrong?" Ditzy asked a little quieter now. "Uh, bad dream." Daniel said, trying to remember it. "Oh, well, why don't you come inside, my room is sucluded from the others' rooms." Ditzy said, motioning him in. Daniel shrugged, and hopped from the tree in through the window.Inside was a white bedroom, with a bed meant for two ponies. Ditzy went and sat on the bed. "I'm not exactly, comfortable with beds." Daniel said sheepishly. "Come here Daniel, just lye here with me, it's not so bad." Ditzy said with a smile. Daniel shrugged, and taking a deep breath, sat on the bed with her. "Okay, I guess it's not so bad." Daniel said, exhaling. "See?" Ditzy said, laying down in the bed, patting the spot next to herself. Daniel slowly started to lie down next to Ditzy, and found that it wasn't as bad as he remembered. "Okay, this is actually quite comfortable." Daniel admitted. "Told ya." Ditzy said with a giggle, wrapping her front legs around Daniel's neck. Daniel smiled at her, and wrapped his own arms around her, pulling her a little closer. "Have I ever told you you smell awesome." Daniel said with a playful smirk, taking a small whif of Ditzy's mane, catching the scent of blueberry muffins once again. "I think once, when you first got here." Ditzy said, smiling. "You know, this feels right somehow." She said. "What does?" Daniel asked, raising an eyebrow. "Well, just being here, in your hooves, or arms in your case, you know? Just being together." Ditzy said, snuggling up closer to Daniel. "I agree, it does feel right." Daniel replied cheerfully. Ditzy passed Daniel and entered the bathroom herself, about twenty minutes later, everypony was sitting at a breakfast table downstairs, with plates full of food. "Okay, the temple is actually three miles south of here, we should be able to reach it by noon if we leave in half an hour." Daring said. Everypony else just nodded and continued eating. "So, anypony have any good dreams last night?" Applebloom asked inbetween bites of hay bacon. Daniel and Ditzy shared a glance. Suddenly Daring got up. "Time to go." She said quietly, pointing towards a familiar griffin and his two guards. "Ah shit." Daniel said under his breath. They all got up, and headed towards the door, hoping not to get caught, but of course, the griffin turned around at that exact moment. "There they are, after them!" He yelled, and Daniel flipped over two nearby tabels as a roadblock, and the team sprinted out of the hotel. "The train station!" Daring yelled, and they all ran towards it, it wasn't very far from the hotel, as a matter of fact, it was just across the street. The griffin and his two guards burst through the hotel doors just as they reached the train station, luckily the train they needed to board was already in the station. "Talk about lucky." Daniel muttered, as once again Ditzy threw a sack of bits at the clerk, and grabbed her ticket, as the others did the same. They quickly got on the train, and ducked down, the griffin bought a three tickets for himself, but got on a different car of the train. The doors to the train closed, leaving. Then the griffin burst through the doors to the car that the team was in. "Or not." "Daring, give me the map, and nopony on the car gets hurt!" The griffin yelled. "Everypony run!" Daniel yelled, and all the civilians and the workers cleared. "Spike, take AB out of here!" Daniel said, getting ready for the attack, and growing out his tail. "Daring, go with them, you have the map, they can't get it, we'll hold them off." Daniel continued. Daring looked like she was about to argue, but she left, and was followed by Dash. "Get them." The griffin said. the two ponies stood on their hind legs, and ran towards them, Daniel ran towards them, and gave his tail a quick swing, triying to hinder them, but it was easily avoided. "You konw, my strange looking friend, if you want to hurt them, even slightly, you have to try and kill them, that's the beauty of it." The griffin cackled. "Fine." Daniel said dangerously, he jumped in the air, and spun around, trying to decapitate the stallion on the left, he ducked, and swung a hoof in Daniel's direction, Daniel sidesteped it, and swung his tail tryign to cut off the stallions foreleg, instead, he nicked it slightly. The stallion shook it off, and flipped over Daniel, quickly swing his hoof again, the stallion met flesh, and blasted Daniel back a couple of feet. Ditzy ran forward, followed by Blaze and Gilda, they flanked the two stallions. "Daniel go!" Gilda yelled, ducking a hit from the first stallion. Daniel jumped back into action, as did the second stallion, going for a mid-air attack against Daniel, slow motion seemed to happen as they met, Daniel kicked the stallion in the face, but the stallion managed a punch into Daniel's gut. They both got blasted back. The stallion hit a window as another subway train passed by. "Look mama! Ninjas are fighting a wierd looking creature with an awesome sharp tail!" One little colt said, looking out the window. "I see that." The mother said, flabbergasted. "That hurt you silent bastard." Daniel said to stallion number two. The stallion got up, and quickly charged forward, Daniel just stood where he was, and waited, and as the stallion attacked, he flicked his tail, and quickly gashed the stallion, combined with a hard kick the stallion hit the already cracked window, breaking it. He looked to the left, and saw the door, quickly opening it, he went back inside the car, only to jump out of the door. "Daniel, we got this this one, go after the other, make sure it doesn't reach Daring!" Ditzy yelled. Daniel nodded in reply, and swung out as well, on top of the train car, he saw the stallion running towards the next car, but before he could reach it, Daniel caught up to him and landed a blow on his head. The stallion quickly turned around, and hit Daniel, Daniel grabbed the stallion's mask, only to see a very deadly Fluttershy. "F-Fluttershy?" Daniel said surprised, Fluttershy landed a punch on Daniel's face. Pulling her mask back on, she ran forwards towards Daring, Daniel shook it off, and ran after Fluttershy, quickly catching up with her, he quickly forgot who the 'stallion' was. He swung his tail at her, and she quickly flipped over Daniel, who spun around, and threw a fist. Fluttershy opened her wings, and flew down into the train car once again, Daniel dove in after her. "Daniel help!" Applebloom yelled, Daniel spun around to see Spike backing slowly away from Fluttershy, Daniel ran up to her, and swung his tail, quickly cutting Fluttershy in the back of the head. She spun around, rage in her eyes, the only part showing in her mask. She quickly launched several blows, but Daniel avoided them all, and caught the last one. Quickly swinging her around, he threw her across the way, electing several screams of terror from the passengers. Fluttershy quickly hooped up back onto her hind legs, just as another train sounded in the distance, she jumped out yet again, followed by Daniel. "Fluttershy! Why are you doing this?" Daniel yelled. "Easy, Trick Coin pays well." She said with a cackle. She quickly charged at Daniel once again, Daniel waited, and grabbed her by the wing, elicting a pained shout. Daniel held Fluttershy over the train, as the other train started coming forward. "Who's Trick Coin?" Daniel yelled. "The griffin that hired me, you saw him in the train." Fluttershy yelled fearfully. "Why are you fighting us." Daniel hissed. "He's paying me!" Fluttershy yelled. "Please, let me up!" She added, Daniel rolled his eyes, and yanked her back up, just as the other train passed, Fluttershy jumped on the other train. "Goodbye Daniel, we'll see each other again." She yelled. Daniel went back inside the train. "Is everypony alright?" Daniel shouted, there were several nods, everypony seemed fine. Daniel ran off to find the others, and found them all standing together, staring out the window. "They jumped on the other train." Ditzy said. Daniel nodded. "So did the other one." Daniel said, he  was't ready to tell them it was Fluttershy just yet, the train pulled to a stop. "This is the conductor, for those of you in that fight, get off, this is the Jungle Stop." An angry voice came up. "Fine, this was where we were going anyways." Daring said. Running up to them was a large and hideous beast, with three eyes, the tail of a scorpian, the head of a goat, and blood falling from multiple gashes in it's bear like body. "Run." Daniel repeated. Nopony needed another hint. They sprinted down the hallway. "Holy shit! What is that thing!" Daniel yelled, as they ran down the hall. "It's the hope devourer, it eats souls! It was said to be killed during the great battle of Faust and Discord!" Ditzy yelled. The hallway seemed to stretch on for quite a ways further, and The Hope Devourer was quickly gaining on them. "Oh shit! shitshitshitshitshitshit!" Daniel yelled. He looked ahead, and saw a door. "There's the exit!" He exclaimed. They all put a bit of effort in, and sprinted faster, ever so slightly. Daniel yeanked the door open, and dove inside, followed closely by the others, Applebloom dove in, and slammed the door shut behind herself. Daniel opened up t he map, after catching his breath. "Before you read it, there's something you need to know." A voice said, Daniel looked up, and saw none other than trick coin, followed by Fluttershy and the other pony. "We'll be taking that map now." He said. "Get the map." He added, the two ninjas immidiately charged forward. "Not again." Daniel said, as a hoof met his face. Daniel grew his tail and wings out, and tossed the map to Daring. "I'll hold them off, just read me what's next!" Daniel yelled. "Everypony help give Daring some back up!" Daniel ordered, Ditzy and Gilda came up on either side of Daniel, Spike stepped forward as well, cracking his neck, Applebloom stepped up as well, and pulled a bottle out of her bag, and smashed it. Peewee landed on Spike's shoulder, and Owluicious flew overhead. Fluttershy charged forward, and swung her hoof at Daniel, but Daniel held his wing up defensively, then spread it out and blasted Fluttershy back. "Daring! The map!" Daniel shouted. "Uh right." Daring replied, opening the map. Daniel swung his tail at the approaching stallion, fready for anything, he stood his ground, but instead of the stallion getting to him, Peewee flew by, and set fire to his mask, which was pulled off quickly to avoid burns. The stallion charged forward, and this time swung hi hoof, but Daniel flicked his tail just in time to see the stallion's hoof fall off. He cried out in pain. Daniel went in for the kill, but Fluttershy came up, and started to swing out a hoof knife, that strapped to her hooves, Causing Daniel to bleed himself. "It says that  you will have to go across with an enemy!" Daring said. "Everpony grab onto me!" Daniel yelled. They did so, and Daniel grabbed Fluttershy, and stallion number one and ran across the clearing. Nothing happened, until Trick Coin took a step forward himself. The room started to collapse, Trick ran quickly across, and past the others, nopony was fighting now, instead, they were sprinting to the stairs that seemed just out of their reach. "GO GO GO!" Daniel screamed, getting everypony up the stairs, and then followed up himself, lava started coming up. Everypony ran faster. Once up, Daring started reading the map once more. "GET DOWN!" She yelled, everypony hit hte ground, just as a large jet of fire shot over their heads. "Jump!" She said suddenly, everypony jumped off of there feet, just as the floor gave way, it then came back. "Go!" Daring yelled, running towards the door. "Get the map!" Trick Coin yelled, Fluttershy kicked Daniel to break free of his grasp, and flipped over him, Daniel launched himself directly into her going straight up. Fluttershy landed on her back, and Daniel went back down towards her, only for her to roll out of the way and jetison herself back up to her hind legs. She quickly launched a round house kick, which Daniel ducked, and he punched her in the gut, sending her flying back a few feet. Daniel ran, followed closely by both his team and Trick Coin's team. "Get through the door on the right!" Daring shouted, charging through it herself, everypony followed in, Daniel kicked The three hoofed stallion out of the way. "Everypony against the left wall!" Daring yelled, they did so, just as the other wall had spikes shoot out from it. The spikes retracted, only to come out once more. Everypony inched along the wall, and left through the doorway. "Up the stairs!" Daring exclaimed. Everypony save for the three hoofed stallion, Fluttershy, Daniel, and Trick Coin went up the stairs, Daniel flicked his tail at the three hoofed stallion, trying to decapitate him, but the stalion ducked, and Daniel instead grazed the stallion's head. Fluttershy went in for a fatal blow with the knife, but Daniel blocked her with his wing, and once again tried to kill the three hoofe stallion, but, instead cut off the stallion's other front hoof, causing him to once again to cry out in pain. Daring replied. Daniel nodded, and saw five ropes, he grabbed the one closest to him and gave it a tug, lava poured down, and Daniel barely dodged it. "Okay, not doing that rope again." Daniel muttered under his breath, he gave a different rope a pull, and this time an arrow flew past his head. "Or that one." Daniel said. "It's amazing you're still alive." Spike said, Daniel nodded in agreement. Daniel went to the third rope, and pulled it, this time, opening a hidden passage to the left. Everypony stepped through it, just as Fluttershy and Trick Coin made it up the stairs. "Run." Daniel hissed, and once more, they all broke into a sprint, but Fluttershy was on them in an instant, Once again she swung her knife, and Daniel countered with his tail, slicing the knife in half. Daniel flicked his tail, and cut Fluttershy in the front knee, as she went down, he ran, with the others. "Don't move!" Daring yelled. Everypony froze, a large sharp blade swung down, and cut off a few stray strands of hair from Daring's mane. "Okay! Go!" They all ran forward, and the large blade fell once again, this time blocking Fluttershy's way towards them, they all ran forward, and up yet another set of stairs. "You know your girlfriend is a bit of a bitch Gilda!" Daniel yelled. "Well excuse me for not knowing that she was a bucking NINJA!" Gilda retorted. "RUN!" Daring yelled, just as Fluttershy got up the stairs. The roar of The Hope Devourer behind them, they sprinted for the third. "There's two of them!?" Ditzy shouted  unbelievingly. "Yeah, only this one is bigger!" Daniel yelled, pushing forward, Fluttershy close behind them, and The Hope Devourer right behind her. "Oh shit!" Daniel yelled. "You said that already, several times." Daring yelled. "I'll say it again, and again! SHITSHITSHIT!" Daniel yelled, diving into the doorway, followed closely by everypony else, nopony even hesitated to close the door, they just ran up the stairs. Fluttershy chasing after them. "Okay, Daring, what's next?" Daniel asked, surprisingly calmly. "Traps, I'll set them off, then you guys can go." Daring said. "Just one problem with that." Daniel said worriedly. "And what would that be?" Daring replied. "There's a bitch style Fluttershy- ninja- pony on my tail!" Daniel yelled. Fluttershy jumped over Daniel, but this time met with a very angry Ditzy. "You better pray that Daniel's alright. Daniel?" She said. Daniel gave a thumbs up, then fell over. "Bitch." Ditzy swung her hoof, and hit Fluttershy in the chest, she then grew to her full form, and held Fluttershy in a magical arua, when suddenly Fluttershy disappeared. "Alright, that should hold her for a while, let's get going." Ditz said, Daniel got to his feet, feeling the pain subsiding, he sheathed his sword, and converted it back into his tail. "Traps are set!" Daring called. The rest of the team walked across. "Thanks." Daniel grumbled. Daring nodded. They went up the stairs, as the air seemed to both warm up, and freeze at the same time. It also began to stink. Daniel got up, but the stair way door was shut instantly by an unseen force, and a grumbling, almost a growl seemed to come by. Daniel looked up, and growing very slowly out of the ground, was none other than himself, only darker. Daniel said, and swung his tail, only to have it met by Dark's tail. "But it isn't. Heh heh heh." Dark chuckled. Dark swung his own tail, and daniel met it with his own. "Never easy is it." Daniel muttered. Daniel slashed his tail several more times, only to have Dark block it. "I can hear every thought you have, so tell me, how's Ditzy?" Dark said. "I don't know how to react to what you just said, but I'm guessing Ditzy is fine." Daniel said. Daniel swung his tail out once more, only to have it met by Dark's. "Fine." Daniel said, he shifted his tail into his sword, and grew out his wings, Dark did the same. Daniel charged at Dark intent on swinging his sword, but at the last moment, he sliced his right wing across, and cut into Dark. Daniel gave a twisted smile. "Found your weakness." Daniel said simply. He cleared his thoughts, and fought completely on instinct, swinging his sword to the left, Dark met it, but Daniel sliced his wing once more, Dark tried to avoid it, but didn't have the time, Dark swung his sword, and it left a gash in Daniel's right leg. "That was my good leg you bastard!" "All's fair in love and OOF" Daniel hit him with the butt of his sword. Daniel was on him quickly, he brought his sword up, and upon swinging, Dark rolled out of the way, Dark charged at Daniel, Daniel morphed into his full alicorn form, Dark stayed the same, Daniel waited until Dark was just out of his reach, then fired an arcane blast at Dark, Dark stumbled back, and Daniel charged forward, and stabbed Dark, who fell, his sword falling from his hands. Daniel drove his tail in deeper, and Dark chuckled. "You know, I forgot to mention that the only way to kill me is to decapitate me." Dark said, grabbing his sword, and flipped back off of Daniel's tail, Daniel went back into his human form, but kept his wings, his tail though was a different story, he shifted it into his sword, and charged at Dark. Dark waited, and then swung his sword, Daniel met it with his wing, then swung his own sword, almost hitting Dark, but Dark's own wing met it with a quick glance. Daniel quickly used his other wing to swing at Dark, and got him by surpirse, blasting Dark back, Daniel charged forward, and grew his horn, using a binding spell, he pinned Dark to the floor. Standing above Dark, Daniel raised his sword up, ready to kill his evil self, the sword in his hand began to go down, but stopped at Dark's neck. "No. That's not the point, I will not kill you, for you are me. You are already a part of me, and therefore, I have no need." Daniel said, sheathing his sword, and letting Dark go. "Very good, you have passed the final challenge, I will always be part of you, no matter how hard you try to kill me, to bury me, to get rid of me, for I am not your weakness, I am only another part of you." Dark said, then he disappeared. "We will meet again." The voice whispered. "Well, that was certainly interesting." Daniel said. Suddenly the water and the island was gone, and instead stood a large room, the stairway opened once more, and Ditzy, along with the others burst in. "We're here to help you fight!" Gilda yelled, bursting through last. "Sorry, to late, I already did." Daniel said with a chuckle. "Daring, what does the map say?" Daniel added. "I don't know, it's written in some odd language that I don't understand." Daring said. Daniel grabbed the map, it was written in english, plain as day. "Only the fifth can read this." Daniel read. "Well that explains alot, you have found yourself, and passed the barriers, now awaits the great power beyond the door, you have done well my creation." "Okay, so we just go through the door than?" Daring asked. "Pretty much." Daniel replied, stepping towards the door, and pushing it open, stepping inside, he seemed to disappear into the darkness... ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------A/N-- Short chapter, sorry. //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 10- Unwanted Power //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 10- Unwanted Power Daniel stepped through, and was encased with Darkness. Suddenly a voice sounded out, "Only one more may enter, for the purity cannot be tainted." Trick Coin came running up out of nowhere, and dove in before anypony else could even try. "Ha, now the ancient weapon is mine." Trick said. "Why do you even want it!?" Daniel said, about ready to kill the cocky griffin. "Why wouldn't I? I would be able to hold Equestria in the palm of my claw!" Trick smiled largely. Suddenly many torches lit, and revealed what lay in the room. In the center, there was a small glowing orb of energy. Both Trick Coin and Daniel walked towards it. "Welcome Daniel, Trick." A voice potruded from the orb. "Uh, hi?" Daniel replied. "If you want the power, touch me." The orb said, Trick Coin reached out immidiately, but the moment he touched it, he burst into flames. "Argh! What is this!" Trick screamed, then collapsed, the fire went out, and it smelt of burning feathers. "Why did he burn?" Daniel asked. "He was not worthy." The orb said simply. "Am I worthy?" Daniel asked. "We will find out, but first you must hear my story. My name, is Faust." It said, Daniel's head nearly exploded from shock. "W-wait, as in, the Faust, creater of this wonderful place?" Daniel said. "Yes, now let us begin. In the begining, there was nothing, except for a great being, even greater than I. This being created the world you know as earth, the being as well created myself, and gave me permission to shape part of this universe myself. So I created Equestria, it was almost perfect, almost. It had trees, grass, and wind. I added a sun, and a moon, but they did not rise and fall on their own, so I had to keep them in balance. The world was lovely, but I had nopony to share it with, until one day, I myself went to it, and found my soul seeping into the air, the ground, and the beauty. For a while this went on until another being was created, this being called herself Celestia, guardian of the sun, and over the years I came to know her as my daughter. Over a longer period of time, a different being was born, she called herself Luna, guardian of the moon. They took over for me, and as I walked the ground of Equestria, four more minor beings came into existence, two earth ponys, one female named Growth who cared for the plants, and the other a male named Breathe, who cared for the animals that the two beings Luna and Celestia had created. Two unicorns, a female named Magic who took care of the invisible length that connected the mind to the soul, and a male named science, who looked into the reasoning behind all thoughts and decisions. Two pegasi, a female named Sky, who created the wonders of the daytime sunlight and splendor, and a male named Storm, who created the weather. And Two griffins, a female named anger who managed the irrational behaviors, and a male named Deppression who managed all emotions dealing with sadness. Over the years, I shrank as other beings came into existance, until I stopped my sould from leaking, and left the prophecy. I sealed myself away, in wait, knowing you would one day come here." Faust finsished. "Why did you wait for me to come here?" Daniel asked, slightly confused. "There are a few powers I wasn't ready to relinquish to anypony, for nopony was worthy. You are the only one who can be worthy." Faust said. "What kind of powers?" Daniel questioned. "The power of deciding when somepony will die." Faust said. Daniel's eyes widened. "And also deciding when somepony can give life." Daniel felt dizzy. "Uh, no thank you, it's a kind offer, but, I don't want that kind of power." Daniel said. "If you don't take the power, then Trick Coin will recieve it." Faust replied. "So let me get this straight, it's either take a power that I don't want, and probably would never use, or throw this world in chaos because an idiot has unspeakable power?" Daniel started, " That's not very fair!" "Fairness is never the case when you live as long as I." Faust said calmly. "Your choice." "I- I'll take the power, but I won't use it!" Daniel grunted. "Then touch me." Daniel reached out his hand, and felt a bruning sensation across his body, his mind seemed to expand, as the power was transferred into himself, Then, suddenly, Faust was gone, along with the pain. Trick Coin got up, rubbing his head. "What happened, did I recieve the weapon?" Trick asked. "No, nor will you ever, for it was me who got it. Trick Coin, you will never be aloud to hurt anypony again, I condemn you to death." Daniel said, Trick Coin fell, he was dead before he even hit the ground. "That was the first, and last time I will ever use that power." Daniel said, promising himself. He stepped out. "Daniel! Are you okay?" Ditzy asked. "I'm fine." Daniel said, nodding. "Did you get the weapon?" Daring asked. "No, there was no weapon, there wasn't anything, it was destroyed." Daniel lied. "Daniel, what's wrong? We couldn't hear anything that went on in there, and where's that Trick Coin fellow?" Spike asked. "Nothing is wrong, and Trick Coin is dead." Daniel plainly. "So what now?" Rainbow Dash asked. "We go home, and forget this horrible place." But I am going to take a break from the dark shit that this series will have, and give Daniel a life in Ponyville. //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 6- The Temple Part One //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 6- The Temple Part One The team followed Daring, as she ran towards the beach. They kept running, far past the city, and into the more unused part of the beach, until she came to a stop at the base of the jungle that met at the beach. There was no way to get inside. Daring whipped out a map, and read out loud. "Hooves can not open the path, but the hand of the fifth will get us through. What the buck is that supposed to mean?" Daniel rolled his eyes, and held his hands out, brushing some vines away, he saw that there was a stone, with the imprint of a hand. Daniel put his hand in it, and found that it matched perfectly. The jungle cleared itself, and revealed a path. "That answer you question." Daniel said, stepping into the jungle. The others followed. Standing in front of them, was a large temple, that went almost as high up as the canopies that stretched even further, it was also quite large in terms of girth, it stretched for what seemed like miles, Daniel just stood there and gaped at it. "My fellow companions, I give you, the temple of war." Daring said, gazing at the temple. She turned towards the map. "Wings will help, but hooves will hinder, to open the gate one must grab the pearl, but magic cannot be used here." She finished. Daniel looked up, and sure enough at the top of the temple, was a large orb, most likely a pearl. Daniel grew out his ings, and flew up to it, he examined it closely, wondering if it was booby trapped, then taking his chances, he shrugged, and took it, flying back down, he got rid of his wings. there was a divit in the ground that was roughly the size of the pearl. Daniel set it in, and sure enough, the door to the temple opened. "There's no turning back now." Spike said, and walked through the doorway, followed by everypony else. Ditzy turned towards Daniel, and kissed him, then went inside herself, and Daniel followed in last. It got dark, quite fast, until, suddenly, a voice began to speak. "I will warn you one last time, great fifth, what you seek is here, but you must be careful, for if you look for it, you will find it." The voice was gone, and torches began to light up the path. Daring held out a hoof to stop everypony. "What does it mean, one last time Daniel?" She said. "I think I heard it in a dream once." Daniel said, shrugging, Daring nodded. She then reached into her bag, and pulled out a small marble, and rolled it across the ground, and came to a stop. "What are you doing?" Spike asked. "I was checking for booby traps, you never know, I think we're fine." Daring replied, and stepped forward, everypony else followed, going by the marble, Daring picked it up, and they all began walking forward once again. Only to hear a very large stone dropping, and falling, and rolling directly towards them. "Oh shit! Run!" Daniel yelled. "Every temple has to have this exact trap!" Daring yelled, the giant rooling ball was gaining. "What does the map say!" Daniel yelled. "I don't know! It's in my pack, I don't have to grab it now!" Daring shot back. Daniel opened her pack, and reached in, grabbing the map. The boulder was getting closer. "What does it say?" Daring yelled. "Uh, magic of a unicorn cannot protect, but that of an alicorn will help." Daniel said. "That doesn't even rhyme!" Daring yelled. "Does that really matter?" Daniel retorted, he instantly shifted into his alicorn form, and put up a defense shield, just as the boulder came down on top of everypony, but instead of killing them, it obliterated itself. "Holy shit." Daniel repeated, morphing back into his human form. "That was close." Ditzy said, getting up and dusting herself off. "No kidding." Spike said. "Never a boring day with you, is it Dan?" Gilda said. "I guess not." Blaze said. "What did I get myself into?" Applebloom said. "Well, what does the map say now?" Spike said, Daniel pulled it out. "The first task has been completed, but next will be worse, three paths there are, but only one will not hurt. You got your damn rhyme, Daring." Daniel added, now slightly annoyed. "What's that even supposed to mean?" Daring wondered outloud. Daniel looked ahead, and sure enough, there was three doorways. "There is three doorways, and one of them won't hurt, it's simple. Yet, frightening." Daniel said plainly. "Which one do we take?" Applebloom asked. Daniel shrugged, and stepped towards the one on the far left. He stepped inside, and called back. "This one is fine, come on!" Daniel called over his shoulder. "Oh, cool, how did you know this was the correct one?" Spike asked. "I didn't." Daniel replied cheerfully. Gilda exchanged a worried glance with Ditzy. Nobody questioned Daniel's judgement outloud from that point forward. "What does the map say next?" Daring asked worriedly. "First of seven levels complete, step up the stairs if you wish to continue." Daniel read aloud. "It doesn't-" Daring was cut off. "I know it doesn't rhyme, and it doesn't have to." Daniel said, rolling his eyes. Daniel saw stairs, and began climbing them, followed by everypony else, the second floor of the temple now coming closer. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------A/N--Done with the first set of traps, consider this a warm up... The next Daniel book will be him living in Ponyville, no big quest, no big adventure, just him in Ponyville, going on little adventures with friends.
