Equestria Girls: The Cursed PJs
A GRRRREAT AND POWERFUL ENDING
Previous Chapter“Ok, boys and girls!” Trixie said to a crowd of kids sitting on pillows and pads on the ground as they watched her. The teen was dressed in a white button-up shirt, a black tux, a black skirt, and a top hat. A plastic black wand with a white tip was in her left hand, pointing it at the group of about twenty-five kids. “Now for the GRRRRREAT AND POWERFUL TRRRIXIE’S next trick, she will need a volunteer. For this trick requires an assistant!” The teen said and immediately hands shot up, most of them with kids squeaking in excitement and whispering pick me. “Hm…” The magician mused as she walked back and forth, scanning the crowd before stopping and pointing into the crowd. “My GRRRREAT AND POWERFUL instincts say that you will do!” She declared as she pulled a small gray ball out from her sleeve and tossed it to the ground, making a burst of blue smoke explode on the ground. Grabbing the cape she wore she pulled it across the smoke and when the smoke disappeared Sunset found herself beside Trixie, staring at all the kids in the audience.
“Yay!” Sunset cheered, hopping in place and clapping her hands together and hopped in place. “You picked me! I’m so excited!” She said, making Trixie raise an eyebrow and smile down at her, giving Sunset a silent cool it message.
“Yes, Trixie has a sense of when someone truly gifted with the magical arts is in her audience!” The teen said as she handed Sunset her wand. “Please hold onto this for Trixie as she gets the next trick ready.” She instructed as she turned away. But as soon as the wand was in Sunset's hands the hard plastic turned into a cooked noodle, instantly going limp in her hands and flopping down, the audience of children gasping and giggling. “What? What's going on?” Trixie asked before looking at Sunset and gasping and walking. “What did you do to Trixie's wand?” She asked, grabbing the wand and holding it between two fingers, holding it out to the crowd, and wiggling it. Getting more laughs from everyone watching them.
“Sorry, I don’t know what happened,” Sunset said, kicking the ground a bit trying to look embarrassed.
“No matter!” Trixie said, throwing the limp wand behind her. “What kind of magician would I be if I didn’t bring a spare wand!” The teen said, snapping her fingers and a new wand appeared in her hand. “Now be careful with this one. Trixie only has a few wands.” She told Sunset as she handed her the extra wand, holding her hands up as she slowly walked away from the little girl. “OK, this trick is very simple.” The girl assured everyone as she grabbed a pair of red PJs and held them up, revealing the yellow fives and lizard design on them. “I will toss these… incredibly soft and comfy feeling PJs at you. All you must do is wave Trixies wand while the crowd chants the magic words, ‘Zip zap pajamas on’.” She said looking at everyone before holding three fingers up. “Three… Two… One!” She called out before tossing PJs in the air at Sunset, who had her arms spread out.
“ZIP ZAP PAJAMAS ON!” All the kids in the crowd cheered and in a flash of shimmering golden light, the PJs found themselves on Sunset underneath her outfit, which was her shrunken outfit from when all this craziness happened. Sunset continued to wave the plastic magician wand above her head until Trixie walked over and placed a hand on her head.
“As we see the PJs are now gone!” She announced before lifting Sunset up and placing the girl on her shoulder. “I wonder where they could have gone, if not for here!” The teen said grabbing the girl's black shirt and pulling it up revealing the PJs, instantly getting ‘ahs’ from the crowd and a round of applause. “And one more trick from my amazing trick to be done by my assistant.” She informed everyone as she sat Sunset back down on the ground.
“Now time to change the color of these PJs, red is a nice color. But it's so boring!” She said, gently taking her wand back and waving it around Sunset's head. “How about… Purple?” She asked as Sunset held up her shirt and the Pjs instantly changed from red to purple, getting gasps from the audience as that happened. “Eh… maybe too different. How about orange?” She pondered, waving her wand and the PJs changed to match the color. “Oh, Trixie can’t decide how about all of them?” She asked, the PJs immediately flashing different colors, getting another round of applause from everyone. “I think red worked the best for you.” Trixie decided in the end, waving her wand once more and the PJs went back to their original color. “Give it up for Trixie’s fantastic assistant Sunset!” She said to everyone, reaching down, grabbing Sunset's hand, holding it up, and bowing as everyone cheered for the girl. “Now get down there and enjoy the rest of the show.” She instructed gently pushing Sunset's head away from her. “Now, has anyone seen Trixie’s little bunny?” She asked getting ready for her next trick. Though having watched Trixie’s magic show a few times more than a hundred Sunset wasn’t going to feel like she was missing out by not watching her friend pull a rabbit out of a hat.
She made her way off the stage and onto the yard that everyone was sitting on and immediately made her way around all the children watching the show to a table filled with snacks. Working a children’s birthday party did come with some perks after all, and the snack table was probably the only reason that Sunset agreed to come and do this show with her magician friend. It took a bit of practice to be able to appear on the stage like she did, though, in reality, she was just behind the stage just waiting to jump behind the smoke screen. Thankfully the tricks with her PJs were simple enough and the clothing seemed to be thrilled to be a part of such a wonderful show.
“Good job.” She whispered to the PJs, standing on her tippy toes as she reached up to the table, grabbed a yellow paper plate, and started to grab some food from the table. A little sub sandwich stuffed with light pink meat and cheese, then some brown color potato chips, a little bottle filled with red juice, and finally a slice of cake. But she made sure to whisper to the outfit, that way none of the adults would question her. The PJs seemed to change to a bright pink color as it was blushing at the praise from the girl.
With her meal in hand, Sunset finally joined the other little kids to watch her friend's show, sitting down on a plastic feeling pad that had been provided for the kids at this birthday party so they weren’t getting their clothes dirty. A lot of the birthday celebration stuff had taken place before the show, including cake, and presents, but there would still be some stuff to do after the show. Thankfully Trixie had got the ok for Sunset to be there are participate in the activities, would’ve been a bad time to work at a birthday party and at least not get a piece of cake.
As she sat the girl munched on her food and sipped on the juice as watched Trixie pull off several different magic tricks. Pulling a coin out of the birthday boy's ear, drawing a matching card as another kid, things like that. She made sure to cheer and clap at the proper times just like the other kids until she got to the cake. The girl hadn’t just swiped the first piece that she saw on the table. She made sure to grab the biggest piece that was available, a corner piece bigger than her, admittedly tiny, hand. It was covered in a thick white icing with round rainbow sprinkles on top of it. She hadn’t bothered to grab a fork, opting out to grab the cake and that took the girl's entire attention. She unhinged her mouth as wide as she could and shoved the cake into her mouth, though it wasn’t enough for her to get the cake in her mouth. Well, she was able to get the cake in her mouth, but the icing scraped across her teeth, turning into a white pile that immediately fell. “MHMPHM!” She huffed with her mouth filled with icing-less bread. The worst part was her mouth filled to the brim and she couldn’t shove the sweet frosting into her mouth. She could only chew on the kind of sweet, vanilla tasting, bread and swallowing. Though she needed a gulp of juice to help the block of bread to get down.
“And time for the moment we’ve been waiting for!” She said to herself as she scrapped the frosting off the plate with her fork and popped the plastic fork into her mouth, the unforgiving sweetness of the frosting immediately attacked her tongue making it tingle. Chewing on the ball of sweetness, the sprinkles crunching in between her teeth, the frosting quickly gain the consistency of glue and teaching the girl that the cake balanced out the sticky sweet frosting. It even made the girl wince as she swallowed, forcing it down her throat, making her shutter. She was definitely going to need to brush her teeth later to prevent cavities, or maybe her teeth from dissolving in her mouth all together. But of course at this rate her parents would be probably helping her with brushing her teeth since there was still no fix to this. But what could she do about it, Princess Twilight was trying to find out a fix for this, but with how differently magic worked in the human world it was hard to try and find a guarantee fix to this.
“Thank you for being a wonderful crowd!” Trixie finally announced, grabbing Sunset’s attention, the birthday boy standing beside her with confetti bits sticking out of his head, the two bowing on the makeshift stage. Everyone immediately jumped up to their feet and clapping for Trixie, though Sunset was a bit slower to the draw. Having seen a magic trick a couple dozen times really took to mystical mystery out of the tricks. But she did get up to her feet and gave a light clap for her friend as the rest of the kids started to dissipate, going for the games, cake, or to some adults who had shown up during the act, signifying the end of the birthday party. “There's my magnificent grrrreat and powerful assistant.” Trixie said as she walked up to Sunset, immediate lifting the girl up and tossing her in the air.
“Ah, Trixie!” Sunset squealed with a light giggle, “Yes, here I am!” She said, immediately wrapping an arm around her friends neck.
“Fantastic show out there, Trrrixie is impressed!” She said as she walked to the food area and grabbed he cake, “Maybe you should consider being the GRRRREAT AND POWERFUL TRRRIXIE’S assistant more often.” She said, making the girl roll her eyes at the suggestion.
“Yeah I’ll keep that in mind.” She said as she reached down to the pink plate and swiped her finger across the white frosting and stuck her finger in her mouth.
“Hey, that was Trixie’s thank you very much.” She said, giving the girl a quick glare before handing her the slice of cake, which she gratefully took and new that yeah she was definitely going to have to brush her teeth later, and took another piece of cake. “Aaaaand Trrrixe was talking to the magical color changing pajamas you are adorned in.” She said.
“Oh, of course you were.” She said, using her hand to eat the second piece of cake, this time taking smaller bites, and enjoying it a lot better now that she knew the proper way to eat the dessert.
“Trixie was, its not everyday you come across magical clothing that can change colors and designs on a whim.” She insisted, holding her piece of cake in her hand and shoving the entire thing in her mouth with no issue. “I cwn oose iit oor o any icks!” She declared, her mouth filled making Sunset giggle again.
“Ok yeah you can use them, be careful or might be doing magic shows for new classmates.” She said, curious if the PJs would turn Trixie into a little kid as well. Or if it was a fate merely meant for her.
“Well from the looks of it you’ll be in the audience.” Trixie pointed out as she dropped the girl down to the ground, sticking her nose in the air at the comment.
“Yeah…” Sunset said, blushing a bit as she looked down at herself. It was going to be interesting to see all the change that were about to come. Were her parents going to allow her to continue going to high school? It wasn’t like they could ignore what had happened to her, and unlike most everything else that happened concerning magic this was going to follow her home and she wasn’t gonna be able to hide it. She looked like the little girl that was in the picture that hung in the hallway that the magic that followed her to the world had placed her in. Maybe it wouldn’t be so bad seeing that childhood come to reality.
Then as if to really sprinkle salt into the wound a light brrr could be heard as her pants pocket shook, making the girl reach down to her pocket to where her phone was. She had hardly touched the device since this had all happened, one this had all been really distracting, and two what was she going to do at this point, text in the group chat with her Hey girls, still small, thought you should all know? That seemed like a waste of everyone's time. But checking her phone a text from someone named Mom in her phone texted her saying We’re a few minutes away making the girl sigh. She had texted her parents saying that she was going to be helping Trixie that day and that she may be home a bit later, in hopes of getting an extra few minutes to try and figure out a fix. But her loving parents who wanted to see her just had to say they would swing by and pick the girl up after the show was over and would wait for her. What was the girl suppose to say to that, how was she suppose that without sounding super suspicious? No thanks mom, I got it, totally not trying to figure out another magical disaster that's left me in a unrecognizable form, call Sunset crazy but that just seemed like a really bad idea since she didn’t want her parents to freak out. But it seemed like that charade was about to come to an end as Trixie sat her on the ground.
“Keep yourself entertain, Trrrrixie must go pick up her pay.” The girl said, her voice soft and high pitched and smirking as if she was devising some sort of evil plot and went to talk to one of the parents.
“See ya.” She sighed, which immediately followed with her clothes feeling a bit more lose as the PJs got themselves off of her, a bunch of question marks decorating it, wondering what was wrong with Sunset. “Oh hey…” She said, her eyes glaring at PJs at the reminder they were the whole reason she was in the mess. But she took a deep breath in and held it before letting it out. “My mom and dad are going to be here and they are going to freak out. They were really hoping that I would be ok while they were gone, and not sure if being turned into a kid counts as ok.” She confessed to the PJs, who rubbed one arm with its other arm as if feeling a bit sheepish about the whole thing.
“But hey, we’ll get through it I guess.” She said, playfully slugging the PJs arm, which instantly just caved in and popped back out. “Not like there's a fix to this.” She sighed, the question marks on the PJs moving around as she said that. “Well I mean I can’t just toss you away, wouldn’t do me any good anyways, you can find me anywhere.” She said, recalling when the PJs jumped her at Rainbow Dash’s soccer game. But the PJs moved the neck hole like a movement, showing that's not what it was asking about. Suddenly the stick figure of her showed up on the PJs, one bigger with an arrow pointing to the little one, then another arrow pointing to another big stick figure.
“Oh, well no one has been able to find a fix.” Sunset sighed, “And it’s not like you can fix this, right?” She asked, smirking as she rolled her eyes, letting them look up in the air for a couple seconds before looking back at the PJs, jus for her mouth to drop down. The PJs had both of its hand up in the air.
“W-wait, you can fix this?!” She asked, shock filling her face as the PJs shook its arm in the air. “Wha- Bweh- Gah? Why haven’t you done it yet?!” She asked, grabbing the PJs by their arms and shaking, not stopping until it started to change to a shade of lime green. “Oh, sorry, but why haven’t you fixed this then?!” She asked it, groaning as she tapped her waiting for the PJs to stop swaying as it returned to its normal color. But as it stood back up the stick figure of her suddenly had some speech bubbles above them with question marks.
“You want me to, ask?” She asked and watched as the PJs attempted to raise its hands, but Sunset didn’t wait for the answer. “Can you please fix this?” She asked with a sigh, “Please make me normal again!” She begged, getting a shoulder shrug from the PJs as in a flash of sparkles that were back on her. At first nothing happened, making Sunset pop her bottom lip out in a pout. But than her body felt tingly, as if something was gently tickling her, and the world around her started to shrink, or more precisely she started to grow. In a matter of seconds she was suddenly back to her old age and she gasped as she looked down at her self, rotating her head to look at her entire body. “I-I can’t believe it, I’m back to normal!” She cheered, jumping up and down, not noticing the group of people watching her.
“I can’t believe all I had to do was ask,” She muttered, getting control of herself as she looked down and saw the footie facing her, its neck craned up as if it was trying to look up at her. But she reached down and lifted the clothes up as if it were a little kid. “Ok, so rule number 1, do not do that again unless I say so.” She said walking away from the party and to the front yard where her parents would be.
The PJs instantly had more question marks pop up on it before the imagine of themselves appeared and beside it a GOODBYE? This made Sunset shake her head no, there was no way she was going to let the PJs go off on her own. For starters they were magic and the PJs might cause issues if she just let them go off on their own. But she remembered the memory form the PJs, being lost in the cold unsure what was going to happen next. It was a feeling she was all to familiar with and she wasn’t willing to let the PJs go through it again.
“No, you’re sticking with me.” She said, the question marks and wording instantly changing into explanation points as it immediately wrapped its arms around her. “Yeah yeah yeah don’t strangle me. And there's gonna be some rules you need to follow, but you don’t need to worry about being alone again.” She promised the PJs, watching a black car pull up and stopping in front of her. Taking a deep breath in she walk towards her parents car, this was going to be fun to explain. It wasn’t like she was going to be able to hide the living PJs in her arms… but its not like her family had to know the full truth, right?
