Chapter 1

Okay so I’m sitting at my computer so I can record a reading and I get a pop-up on my screen. All it said was Portal to Equestria and it asked if I wanted to open it. I just thought it was a link to a website, man was I wrong. Everything happened so fast, first my screen started to expand and take a circle shape. A strong wind began to pick up, anything that wasn't more than ten pounds started to fly through the air, pens, pencils, paper, all flapping and hitting me again and again. Then I was being pulled into the portal, I tried to resist but my efforts were futile in the end I was pulled in and once I was gone everything stopped, almost like It never happened.

(scene change)

Dear Princess Celestia, I've begun research on the creatures you named as humans. Although it will be difficult since I don’t have a human to study, but I will waiting for your gift that will help in my studies of humans. Your faithful student, Twilight Sparkle.

One of Twilights' favorite things to do was send letters to the princess, although one of her previous adventures went very wrong. Long story short, everypony in Ponyville fell in love with her old smarty pants doll after she used the “Want it Need it” spell to make a problem to write about, witch resulted in the princess herself coming to Ponyville and having a personal talk with Twilight.

“Okay, send it Spike.” “Alright Twilight.” With that a baby dragon blew green fire onto a scroll and it vanished into thin air. Today was just like any other in Ponyville, the sun was high in the sky thanks to the princess, and no storms were scheduled for today. Twilight couldn’t be happier.

“Alright time to get studying.” said Twilight in a excited tone, “Right now? But you just sent that letter to the princess shouldn't you wait for that gift?” Spike said a bit annoyed. Spike knew better than any one that if Twilight had nothing planed for a day, all she did was study, even when they went on a trip with the rest of girls, Twilight always had a book with her at all times. Spike would never forget that trip, not because it was fun, but because Twilight misplaced one of her books, that’s when the trip was extended for two days just so they could look for her book. When they never found it, it took weeks for Twilight to recover.

“ I don’t want to waste any time, if I start now the gift will be a lot more helpful when it arrives.”

“ Do you even know what it is yet?”

“ Well....no but I’m sure it will be a lot of help, ummm Spike, did you leave a window open?”

“ No why?”

Twilight never got to answer, because a blinding white light stopped her from doing anything, then she heard yells, it sounded like it was coming from a stallion, but why would there be a stallion in the library right now she closed the library so she could study, and where was it coming from? Her answer came from somepony landing on top of her from out of nowhere although it didn't feel like a stallion.

“Alright....I hate pop-ups.” I said when my head finally stopped spinning. In one moment I noticed two things that were different, one, I was in a library where all the colors in the room seemed to pop-out more than they should, it made me feel good. And two, I was on top of something, something....soft. I quickly looked down and saw a pair of purple eyes starring at me with a mix of emotions in them, confusion, fear, and...interest? I quickly got up and looked around at my surroundings, I saw everything before but not in this perspective, it was usually from my computer screen, but I knew exactly where I was. Just as I was starting to process what had happened, a familiar voice rang though my ears.

“Ummm, hello?” the voice said unsure of what to do next. “My name is-” “Twilight Sparkle” I said as I slowly turned around, still dazed from what happened. She was obviously surprised that I knew her name, but didn’t say anything. Out of the corner of my eye I saw a small purple dragon, who I instantly recognized as Spike,walk towards me. He stood there for a minute before he started to poke me. “Ummm can I help you?” I said as he continued to poke me a bit harder. Ignoring my question he looked to Twilight. “ Hey twilight do you think this is your gift you were talking about?” Spike asked as he stopped poking me only to start grabbing my hair and tugging it slightly. Twilight didn’t move or even respond to Spikes question, instead she stared at me for a minute before asking “What are you?”

fully understanding her question I answered “I am a human but don't be afraid of me, I’m not going to hurt you.” “So that's what a human looks like.”she said, mostly talking to herself. Once she came back to realty she saw what spike was doing to me and quickly said “Spike!, What are you doing to him!”

“Whats it look like Twilight?” Spike said a bit confused. “I'm studying him.” Twilight rolled her eyes and looked to me with apologetic eyes. “I'm sorry about Spike, he was just curious about you.” she said pulling Spike away with her magic. “I'm sure you are too so don't worry about it.” I said with a blank expression on my face. I then realized that I was talking to Twilight Sparkle. My first thought was to tell her she was a cartoon character but then thought better of it, not knowing how she would react.

Twilight looked at me for what seemed like hours. I finally decided to break the silence. “Do you know how I got here?” I asked her not really expecting her to know. “I was hoping you would have known.” she said with a slight chuckle. She then thought back to a moment ago. “How did you know my name?” she asked curiously. That was the question I was dreading to hear, although I was calm through the whole process of meeting Twilight and ending up, on top of her, in her library, I stated to panic trying to think of an answer. I soon gave up and looked her in the eyes and said “Your a fictional cartoon character made for the enjoyment of humans.” I waited for her to start bombarding me with questions or telling me that it wasn't true and I was lying. But she simply got up and walked into the kitchen without saying a word. Spike watched her as she walked away and when she was out of sight he looked at me for a moment before speaking. “Sooo ugh hows it going.” he said nervously. “ Well...” I began, “I was just taken from my home and brought here into Twilights home without even knowing how it happened.” I said with a completely strait face. “Oh so...” “I'm doing great!” I said with a smile.

“Wait, what?”he asked obviously confused by my response. “well like I said earlier, you and Twilight are fictional characters in a cartoon so humans can watch you live your lives, mostly through your adventures.” “So you watch everything we do?” Spike said sounding a bit panicked. “Well not everything, just the interesting parts of your lives.” Spike seemed to have relaxed. “Okay, if you can see all of our adventures, prove it.” he said with a smirk which I returned. “Fine, one day twilight let you sleep in for too long, you woke up to find an owl named Owllicious, you thought he was trying to replace you so you tried to frame him with Opals toy mouse and some ketchup, Twilight caught you in the act and got disappointed with you, you thought she didn't love you anymore and decided to run away. That's when you found a cave that belonged to a full grown green dragon,Twilight fallowed your ketchup covered feet and saved you.” I took a deep breath and finished.”The. End” During the entire story Spikes jaw was dropping lower and lower. If it went any lower it would have probably dislocated completely. It took Spike a second to recover, bet when he did he fixed his jaw and sat down, not knowing what else to say.

We sat there for about a minute in cold silence. I looked to my left and saw Twilight leaving the kitchen with a tray enveloped in a lavender aura. She silently walked over to me, looked me over quickly, and set a steaming cup next to me and sat down in front of me. I looked into my cup, Twilight must have noticed and spoke up. “Its hot chocolate, don't worry, I didn't poison it.” she said without a hint of sarcasm. I then picked up the cup, looked at it for a second, and took a sip.

I quickly pulled away from the cup and spit out the hot liquid that burned my mouth. Twilight just looked at me with a raised eyebrow as she took sip from her own cup.”I guess I should have told you it was hot.” she said sheepishly.”It's okay, I should have guessed, I just didn't expect it to be that hot.” I said taking deep breaths to cool the inside of my mouth. “Do you know where you are?” she asked quietly. “I'm in the Ponyville library in the land of Equestria.” I said acting like it was common sense, as if I lived here all my life. She nodded and took another sip from her cup as I did the same. Noticing that she was having trouble finding her next words. I spoke.”You know, I know a lot more about you than you think I do.” I said without making eye contact. “Like what?” she said trying to keep her composure. “Well for one,” I paused to look at her calender. “Isn't next week re-shelving day?” I asked looking at Twilight to see her expression change. She quickly looked at hes calender and gasped. “It seems that it is.” she placed her cup onto a nearby table. “If you know so much please tell me about me. Talk to me as if I were somepony else.” she said as she rested her chin on her forelegs.

“Okay well I’m going to start things simple, first your cutie mark stands for magic, you got it when you took an entry exam to get into Princess Celestias' School for Gifted Unicorns. That is also where you hatched Spike from his egg. You are one of the Elements of Harmony, your friends make up the rest. You used to live in Canterlot but moved here to check on preparations for the Summer Sun Festival and make friends, which you didn't do until Nightmare Moon came and you had to use the Elements of Harmony to stop her, once you used the Elements Nightmare Moon became Princess Luna.” Twilight looked at me with wide eyes and stood up. “Okay, I'm going to make a test, your going to answer all the questions you can, got it?” “Alright.” I said without flinching. She then walked upstairs to start writing the test and left me to be alone downstairs since Spike had gone upstairs after her a few later. So I did what anyone else would do in a library...I read.

It took a while to find a book that wasn't on spells or how to do things, but I finally found a story book that looked a little familiar, I just couldn't think where I saw it before. I started to read the book when Twilight came down the steps, test in her magic and Spike on her back. “ Are you ready?” she asked “As ready as I’ll ever be.” I said as I shut the book and placed it back in it's spot on the shelf. “Okay” she said “Your test starts...now.”
