They say that opposites attract and in Equestria it was no different, there were plenty of unlikely couples like Discord and Fluttershy, Rainbow Dash and Applejack, the list went on. They worked because one creature had what the other didn't, Discord was all chaos and fun while Fluttershy was all about tidiness and routine, Rainbow Dash was all about relaxation and speed while Applejack was all about hard work and taking things slowly, they complimented each other perfectly.

There were also plenty of couple that matched perfectly because they had so much in common, like Pinkie and Cheese or Big Mac and Sugar Belle, Pinkie and Cheese connected via their love of bringing the party vibe wherever they went while Big Mac and Sugar Belle connected over their relatively shy demeanors and adoration for cooking delicious food.
