Twilight goes to help.
Load Full StoryNext ChapterTwilight arrives at Canterlot palace to be escorted up to a tower. The guards tell her to walk up the spiral staircase and she will arrive at the Princess's room. However, as she walks up she kept wondering why she was there. She had known that Princess Celestia had gone into isolation, but not why, or from who. Why would the Princess, the same Princess who raises the sun every day in Equestria, go into isolation? Spike had given some random idea of a zombie attack on Equestria and maybe the Princess was bit, but Twilight knew better than to listen to Spike, he only is a baby dragon afterall. Over time she finally reached the door to the tower, a door she has never seen before. The door was crimson, with a black shield embedded in the middle of it. Not recognizing the oddness of the door Twilight entered the room. After she has entered the room she soon realized that it was pitch black, excluding a small circle in which the Princess stood in, facing the small lavender pony. "Hello Princess!" Twilight greeted as the door closed behind her.
"Hello, my loyal protege." Celestia responded, a smile on her face. "I've been waiting a long time, Twilight Sparkle, and I'm glad that you finally showed." As the Princess spoke, Twilight noticed that the Celestia's colors had faded, causing her to have a light shade of grey covering her colors.
"So, what do you need, Princess?" Twilight asked, "Is something wrong?"
"Yes, Twilight, but more importantly, do you know the history behind Alicorns, and why you don't know Luna and my parents?" Celestia spoke with her natural firmness, and Twilight could only shake her head at the fact that she didn't know the history because absolutely none of it was recorded in Pony History. "Well, back before history, my parents ruled over this land, and the mortal pony afterlife. However, as my parents grew old, They decided to leave this world and resume their rule over the afterlife, were they would never die." She paused, to let the history sink in for Twilight. "In result of their leaving, they left us in charge of the mortal ponies, and they only left me and my sister on this world."
"This is all so interesting, Princess, and I mean it, but why does this revolve around me?" Twilight said with curiosity.
"Because Twilight, Immortality comes with a price, sadly, that price requires me, and my sister, to do something that we, to this day, hate to do." Celestia paused, letting suspense fill the air. "We are forced to kill our Proteges, or anypony we take chose, but first it's our Apprentices." Celestia stared at Twilight Sparkle with sadness as her horn filled the air, removing the darkness and revealing the walls of the room. The walls were covered in colorful skeletons of long dead ponies, and some still rotting corpses of newer dead ponies.
"H-how long have you done this!" Twilight said, then started throwing up on the ground, letting out all of the contents of her stomach. She looked up as she felt something wet hit her face. She noticed a familiar grey pony with a yellow mane. She didn't remember her name, but she recognized the wall-eyed mare, however, she had a hole in her chest that was were the red liquid dripped from. "This, this stuff is b-"
"Blood. Yes it is, my apprentice. And I will always regret doing this to you." Celestia said, as she approached the pony she had trained since she was small.
"B-but what about my friends?" She asked, "What about my friends, and my family?" Her eyes began to fill with tears as the looked at the Alicorn that towered over her. "Please, please Princess! Don't do this!"
"I'm sorry Twilight, I have to." She was clearly sad, "Your friends and family will only be told that you have left on a long trip that I sent you on alone, and that you will be gone for a very long time, and that Slowly I'll send each one of them to you." Her sadness turned to happiness as she grinned maniacally at Twilight. "Aren't you happy for me? Your color will join my rainbow! And I'll live longer, with your soul at my side!" Celestia's magic lifted Twilight up, spreading her arms from her chest as she pinned her to the wall. "And I have a special idea for your body, my dearest apprentice." With that, Celestia lifted her right foreleg and with a slow push, she moved her hoof into Twilight's chest, slower and slower. Eventually Twilight's blood covered the Princess' arm and the blood started to move into Celestia's coat. The last thing Twilight Sparkle saw was the evil grin on Celestia as a new shade of lavender formed in Celestia's rainbow colored hair.
....
After Celestia had cleaned up the mess she pulled out a piece of parchment and began to write.
Dear Twilight Sparkle
I am so sorry that I had to do this to you, as I don't regret doing it I will tell you this,
I will ALWAYS keep your body by my side.
Your Princess,
Celestia.
She grinned at her work, and she waved her arm and turned around and handing the letter to the pony behind her. "Here you go, my dearest protege. And remember, Twilight Sparkle, wear that armor vest at all times." The lavender pony stared at her with a blank expression, her eyes flashed bright yellow for a split second, then she responded.
"Okay, Princess! May I go back to Ponyville now?" Twilight responded.
"Yes, as long as you never reveal that hole in your chest, and leave that vest on."
"Yes Princess." With that, Twilight Sparkle left the tower, and went back home in Ponyville.
