Zephyr Breeze
Zephyr strolled down the hallway toward the cafeteria when he realized he didn't have his phone.
My phone! Did I leave it in class? My locker? I'll just go check my locker. He thought as he panicked, It's fine, I'll find my phone I just left it somewhere, I'll just retra-
BANG!
All thoughts about his phone left him as he froze, unable to look away from the bleeding student on the floor.
Trixie Lulamoon
Trixie was busy hyping herself up in front of the bathroom mirror, "I am great and powerful! I am the best magician this school has ever seen!"
Three students rushed in out of breath.
Trixie turned to face them and before she could ask what was going on, Bon Bon whispered, "There's a school shooter," as she clutched Lyra's hand.
Photo Finish spoke, “Quick, into the last stall. If we’re quiet we might live.”, as she pointed with her finger.
They hid while gunshots could be heard coming closer.
The girls waited silently for death to come knowing full well the bathroom didn't lock from the inside.
Octavia Melody
Octavia was eating and chatting with Vinyl Scratch during lunch. When they heard screams and saw students fall to the ground. Everyone was either hiding under tables, frozen in fear, or trying to run. Screaming and gunshots continued as Octavia called the cops.
"911, what's your emergency?", the operator picked up.
"There's a school shooter," Octavia hurriedly said, "At Canterlot High."
"The police are coming, okay, it's going to be okay. Can you tell me how many there are?"
"One in the cafeteria, I think she's a student."
"Can you tell what she looks like, what she's wearing?"
"Green hair, long. Light blue jeans, and brown and yellow striped sweater."
"Can you tell me what weapons she has?"
"Two handguns."
"The police are on their way. Do you think you can get somewhere safe?"
"No."
"Stay on the line with me. What's your name?"
"Octavia."
"Okay, Octavia, can you tell me what the girl is doing?"
"She's at the front of the cafeteria. Shooting."
"Where are you?"
"In the back, please hurry."
"The police are almost there, do you have any friends with you?"
"Yeah."
Zephyr Breeze
He stood there frozen as time seemed to slow down, not fully registering what was happening. He felt a searing pain in his chest as he fell back against the lockers. He slid down to the floor and the locker was streaked red.
Tears filled his eyes as he brought a hand to the pain, I'm gonna die, I'm gonna die, I'm gonna die… He squeezed his eyes shut bracing for another bullet but nothing came. He opened his eyes to see the shooter making her way toward the cafeteria.
Trixie Lulamoon
As the gunshots got louder and louder Trixie bit her shirt in order to not make a noise, her heart was pounding and her hands were shaking as she tried unsuccessfully to text her dad. The gunshots stopped but the footsteps echoed loudly as they went past the bathroom.
The girls embraced crying silently, relieved that they survived so far. After three very long minutes, Photo Finish peeked out of the bathroom, “It’s clear, we go.”
The four girls silently tip-toed in the opposite direction of the footsteps they heard earlier and found a few injured students near the entrance of the school. Bulk Biceps informed them that he already called the cops and that they needed to help stop the bleeding.
The four of them joined their other able-bodied peers and Nurse Redheart in assisting the wounded.
This is insane, thought Trixie as she tied a scarf around Silver Spoon’s stomach.
“I don’t wanna die…”, Silver Spoon cried while Trixie felt her heart clench.
“The ambulance is coming, okay? You’re gonna be okay, okay…”, Trixie repeated while hugging her not knowing if it was for Silver Spoon’s sake or hers.
Soon the sirens could be heard drawing closer.
Aftermath
Nine injured, two deceased.
Canterlot High School shut down for a week.
Fluttershy Breeze
Fluttershy would only leave her bedroom to use the bathroom. She wouldn’t answer her phone or her parents knocking. Her friends came every day but still, she didn’t make a sound.
“Fluttershy,” called Mrs. Breeze, “I brought you lunch. Won’t you come out?” She waited in vain, sighing, she replaced the empty dishes in front of the door with the ones full of food.
Diamond Tiara
Diamond Tiara was quiet and she was never quiet. She ate her meals in silence and stopped her complaints and demands altogether. So when three girls claiming they were in Diamond Tiara’s class showed up at his front door Filthy Rich had hoped that maybe these girls could get his daughter to feel a little better or at the very least show a bit of emotion.
Applebloom, Scootaloo, and Sweetie Belle went up the grand staircase to Diamond Tiara’s room.
“Are you sure this is a good idea?”, Scootaloo asked, “I mean she doesn’t even like us.”
“She lost her best friend, we should at least check up on her.”, said Sweetie Belle.
“Sweetie’s right, it ain’t easy losin’ a loved one.” Apple Bloom said as she knocked on Diamond Tiara's door.
The door opened to reveal an irritated Diamond Tiara, "What are you three doing in my home!?"
"We…we wanted to see how you were doin'," Apple Bloom replied, now second-guessing herself.
"Why? So you can pity me!?"
"We were worried about you, Diamond Tiara.", Sweetie Belle explained.
"You can take your worry and leave!", Diamond Tiara slammed her door shut.
…
"Well that went better than expected, guess we should get going.", Scootaloo said, walking away.
"Not yet Scoot.", Apple Bloom said as she grabbed her friend's arm.
"Why? She literally just slammed the door in our faces."
"Because she's hurtin' that's why."
"Maybe we could write her a letter and slide it under the door?", Sweetie Belle suggested.
"Great idea!", exclaimed Apple Bloom
After the letter was written they slid it under the door. It wasn't until after the three girls had left that Diamond Tiara went to grab the letter.
Those girls are annoying and nosy, we aren't even friends, she thought as she unfolded the paper, no matter how mean we…I was they still keep trying to be my friends, ugh.
Hey, Diamond Tiara,
We know we aren't friends but we're still worried about you. We wanted to check up on you and see how you were holdin' up. Yeah, we wanted you to know that we're here for you if you wanna talk or just hang out if you want. We promise to come back tomorrow and maybe we could try being friends?

Those girls are stupid and annoying, Diamond Tiara thought as she wiped her eyes and began saving the numbers in her phone.
Trixie Lulamoon
Trixie couldn't sleep because of the recurring nightmare. Only it wasn't a nightmare, it was a memory she had to live over and over again every time she closed her eyes. She could hear the gunshots. She could see the blood on her hands and the smell…Trixie ran to the bathroom and threw up. She wouldn't be falling asleep anytime soon.
Octavia Melody
Once school was back in session Octavia hesitantly made her way past the horse statue to the front doors of Canterlot High.
Be realistic, there won't be another shooting right after one just happened, The thought did nothing to ease her mind as she made her way toward her locker flinching at every small insignificant noise. She unconsciously scanned the area for exits and suspicious students. She made it to her locker unharmed. She took a deep breath and began taking out her notebooks when she felt a tap on her shoulder. The unexpected tap caused her heart to beat faster filled with adrenaline as she whipped around only to be met with Vinyl Scratch.
"You…scared me.," Octavia said, relieved.
Sorry, Vinyl Scratch moved her hands to sign, I wanted to see you. I don't feel good about coming back to school.
"It's fine, I don't wanna be here either. I just feel…vulnerable."
Let's ditch, We can go to my place and practice our instruments, my mom will get it.
"I'd like that.", Octavia shoved her things back in her backpack.
As they walked out of Canterlot High Octavia didn't know if she would ever be okay, but she knew one thing for certain…
School was no longer a safe place.
