Ten years, ten years since the fall of the outer colonies. Ten years after the awakening of the Equestrian Empires warrior slaves the Kleese and the reactivation of their fleet. Ten years since the Lankies reignited their war with Humanity, the human backed Free Species Alliance.

Ten years since the disappearance of the Coalition flagship, the super siege breaker Galactic and her escorting fleet. Ten years of war has seen the destruction or subrogation of dozens of former human colonies. Ten years since the Galactic disappeared into the black never to be seen, its crew never to be heard.

Until now. Alone and in the black on a routine rock hop to locate ore for the war effort goes wrong. As the Equestrian captain and her collard crew find a massive hulk floating near a moon of the slave homeworld of Tymer. Deciding to investigate they inadvertently awaken a monster that will change the face of the Orion arm forever.

Disclaimer: I'm no longer the biggest fan of Marko Kloos's work. And I wanted to say that while I enjoyed his books when I was younger, around my early to mid 20s, Frontlines, the series that inspired the Rules of Engagement, isn't something I've followed in years. I've decided to take the story in a new direction, keeping the plot of the original story intact while using this as an opportunity to expand my own universe's lore.
