Chapter 37 - Ponyville

It's been a month since the start of Mike and Rara's multi-dimensional tour. During that time, they've been preparing their move to Miami. They have been able to relocate most of their personal stuff to the new home and with the help of the Mane 6 and Sapphire Shores' money, they were also able to acquire new furniture and appliances for the new home, considering the fact that it is a mansion. Sapphire even placed an order of new furniture of her own so that Mike and Rara could have 'elevated comfort'. Also during that time, Mike's racing season slowly continued and was now halfway through, scoring a 13th in Chicago, a 10th and 8th at Iowa, and a 5th at the Brickyard 400.

Currently, the sun was rising over Ponyville, the second stop for Mike and Rara's multi-dimensional tour. Rara wanted to see Applejack one last time before her she and Mike moved to their new home. While the Mane 6 have been helping them with their move, it didn't change the fact that Rara and Applejack now had to see each other in a different city on Earth.

As Princess Celestia's sun continued to rise over the horizon, it's sunlight eventually shone through the window of a hotel room at the Hay & Stay Hotel, specifically, Mike and Rara's hotel room. Mike had been unfortunate to face the window as the sunlight glared into his face. He woke up with a loud, prolonged groan.

"Damn you Celestia! Tone down the light a little," Mike said as he turned himself over to face Rara. Once again, he was treated to the adorable, irresistible, and amusing sight of Rara sleeping. She breathed slowly and silently, all while letting cute, delicate snores as she slept. Mike smiled in amusement, he really loved nothing more than to see the beautiful mare sleep.

However, all good things must come to an end as Rara began to stir. "Mmm," she groaned as the hotel room began to illuminate more and more with the natural light. "Morning," Rara said before yawning.

"Morning, Rara," Mike replied.

Rara smiled before laying on her back and stretching her arms. She then stood up from the bed and continued stretching herself. Because she was only wearing a black sports bra and running shorts, Mike couldn't help but look her over. Rara noticed this and made a half-lidded smile. She walked over to the bathroom door before looking at Mike. "I'm gonna take a morning shower. Are you just gonna lay there and wait for your turn?" Rara asked while giving him a naughty wink.

Mike just playfully rolled his eyes and stood up from the bed. "You should know by now that I will NEVER miss an opportunity to see you naked," he replied.

Rara giggled before beckoning Mike to follow her into the bathroom, which he did.

As soon as they entered the bathroom, Mike closed the door while Rara walked over to the shower to get it ready. "You go ahead and strip down. I'll make sure the water is nice enough," said Rara.

Mike watched Rara turn on the shower and feeling the water. Rara suddenly jumped back at the water being cold. "Want me to help you?" Mike asked.

"No, no. I got this," Rara replied as she checked the water again. This time, it was getting warmer. "Alright, that's it." She then looked at Mike. "Didn't I tell you to undress yourself?"

"Well, you are always the first one to do so," Mike replied.

Rara then walked over to Mike and wrapped her arms around his neck. "Yeah, but this time, it's on you," she whispered.

"In that case," Mike chuckled before letting go of Rara and gripping his white v-neck shirt.

Rara just stared with half-lidded eyes as Mike lifted his shirt up and over his head before tossing it aside and gripping his shorts. Rara smirked wide as he pushed them down before stepping out of them and tossing them aside. "Not bad. Not bad," Rara said as she looked over Mike's naked body.

"Look, we've already seen each other naked multiple times, so why are you saying that?" Mike asked.

"Oh, just to turn you on," Rara chuckled as she gripped her black sports bra and lifted it up and over head.

At first, Mike went wide-eyed, but his expression then turned into a smirk when Rara turned around and pulled her shorts down. Rara then kicked her shorts aside before turning around and face Mike in all her nude glory. Mike couldn't help but wolf-whistle at Rara, which made her blush lightly.

"Looking sexy as always," Mike retorted.

Rara giggled. "Thanks," she said simply as she walked over and opened the shower door and stepped in with Mike following her.

"We're here because of the fact that this will be the final time you and Applejack will be seeing each other here in Ponyville and in Equestria," Mike explained while putting on a pair of jeans. "While you two will more than likely still visit each other every once in a while, it doesn't change the fact that you two won't be seeing each other as often anymore, given that you're gonna be living with me in a completely different world. So maybe you can sing that song as a parting gift or something."

Rara looked down at herself and realized that Mike was right. They weren't just here to perform a concert, they were also here to say goodbye to the mare that had been their biggest supporter. "You know, you're right," Rara said as she put on her silver skirt. "That song was meant to be a thank you to AJ after she exposed Svengallop and helped me realize who I really am. But now I think that song will mean much more given what you just said."

Mike nodded in agreement as he put on some socks and tennis shoes. Now that the two were fully dressed, they stepped out of the hotel room and made their way to the lobby.

"Morning, you two."

The two looked over and saw Coco sitting at a table of the hotel's cafe. "Oh, good morning, Coco," said Rara.

"What are you doing here?" Mike asked.

"Oh, I'm helping with the stage that AJ and her friends are building for tonight's concert," Coco explained. "They're getting help from the backup dancers too."

"Really? The concert doesn't start until 10:00pm," said Rara.

"Well, apparently, Applejack wanted to take advantage of the sunlight so that they can get the stage built before the sun begins setting. That way, when it's nighttime, they won't have to worry about not being to complete the stage in time."

"Well, that's smart of them," said Mike.

"AJ is actually helping around in her farm right now, in case you two want to talk to her."

"Sure thing, though we're gonna need some breakfast first," said Rara.

The three friends shared a chuckle as they began to wait for their waiter.

After breakfast, they left the Hay & Stay Hotel. Mike and Rara went to Sweet Apple Acres to see Applejack while Coco went to help the Mane 6 with the stage they were building. As Mike and Rara began to make their way across Ponyville, they couldn't help but notice the amount of human visitors that were walking around amongst the ponies. This wasn't much of a surprise as Ponyville has become THE top tourist destination in Equestria ever since the Earth-Equestria relations began.

The humans, including Mike, were also getting stared at by a certain mint green unicorn mare who had a massive and somewhat creepy smile on her face as she stared at every single human that was walking around town. That unicorn mare was none other than Lyra.

Soon, Mike and Rara arrived at Sweet Apple Acres. When they arrived, they saw Big Macintosh helping out just like he always does and Granny Smith napping on rocking chair. They then found who they were looking for.

"AJ!" Rara called.

"Rara?" Applejack questioned before seeing her childhood friend and Mike walking towards her. "Rara! Mike!" Applejack ran over to them. First, she hugged Rara. Then, she hugged Mike. "I'm so glad you two decided to come here," said Applejack.

"Hey, it's all we can do before we depart for our new home," said Mike.

"Yeah, I'm still trying to get to the fact that you two aren't living here in Equestria or Nashville, anymore."

"Well, we might as well spend some time with you and the other girls as our way of thanks for helping both of us," said Rara.

For the next few hours, Mike and Rara spend some time inside the Apple Family's house. AJ offered them some non- alcoholic cider and they gladly accepted the offer. They then spent the few hours conversing about everything that has happened over the past few weeks. During the conversation, Mike had to use the bathroom and excused himself from the two mares. After he left, Applejack noticed Rara looking at Mike as he walked away and she was doing so with an expression she recognized.

"Uh, Rara?" AJ asked.

"Huh, what?" Rara jittered in puzzlement.

"Are ya alright?"

"Y-y-yes, I'm fine."

Applejack wasn't buying it but then she noticed the massive blush on her face. That, combined that she was deep in thought, made Applejack realize something. "Rara?"

Rara looked back at Applejack.

"Have you and Mike..." AJ paused, not knowing how to say it. "...mated?"

Rara's entire face went deep red in embarrassment and she looked down, avoiding any more eye contact with AJ.

"Hey, Rara. There's nothing to be ashamed about," Applejack reassured.

"But it's still a sensitive and indecent topic," Rara replied. "Short answer AJ, yes. Mike and I had sex. Twice."

"Come again!?" Applejack replied with shock.

"We've mated twice," Rara said, looking up at AJ with the massive blush still on her entire face. "The first time was when we went to Belgium for one of his races. The second time was actually... just... this morning." Rara looked down at herself again.

Applejack looked at Rara in disbelief. She didn't think she would want to do the deed with Mike this early in their relationship. "Well, how did it feel?"

Rara looked back at Applejack, not expecting to talk about something that's taboo. "It felt... great," Rara replied as a small smile was starting to creep on her face. "I feel... different. I don't know if it's the fact that I'm no longer a virgin or if it's the fact that he actually made me feel good."

Applejack looked at Rara with a smile. "Well, let me tell ya something, Rara. I actually feel happy for ya."

Rara looked at AJ with disbelief. "Y-you are?"

"Of course. I've known Mike for half a year now and you know what? I think you've earned yourself a great lover."

Rara smiled at Applejack and hugged her. "Thanks, AJ," she said.

"Anytime," Applejack replied.

Just then, Mike returned and the three continued their interaction as normal.

After their time at Sweet Apple Acres, Rara and Mike decided to check out the stage. When they arrived, however, Rara was in complete shock. The stage was exactly the same as the one in the Helping Hooves Music Festival.

"Figured I make the stage look like it did when you came to town last year," Applejack said.

"AJ, I-I have no words," said Rara.

"Well, it's the best I could do for the both of ya. Anyways, I should probably go help the others," Applejack then walked off to the stage to help the Mane 6, Coco, Starlight, Spike, and the backup dancers set it up.

Mike looked up at the stage's design. "Why doesn't surprise me that AJ designed the stage like an apple?" He asked.

"Well, she IS an apple. AND she's an apple farmer," Rara replied.

Mike looked at Rara with a puzzled look. The two stared at each other for a few seconds before laughing at Rara's comment.

For the rest of the day, Mike and Rara walked around Ponyville with Rara giving her signature Hoofsies to her adoring fans. As the sun began to set, Applejack invited Mike and Rara to Vinyl Scratch's night club. By the time they got there, lots of ponies were already dancing or sharing drinks while Vinyl had a song playing.

Ever since the Earth-Equestria relations began, Vinyl had been taking an interest in Earth songs from Earth artists and BOY did she love some of them.

As Mike, Rara, and AJ took their seats for a drink. They started conversing before a waitress came with 3 glasses of beer. "NO! NO, NO! NO!" The 3 of them shouted at the waiter in unison.

"Water, please. Water," Mike told the waitress who smiled kindly before walking away with the beer. There's a reason why they decided to not drink any alcohol; the concert was just a few hours away and they all needed to be in the right mindset.

A few minutes later, the waitress came back with 3 glasses of water. They thanked the waitress before she left. As they began sipping their drinks of water, they continued their conversation. "So, have you two seen your new house yet?" Asked Applejack.

"No, we haven't," Mike replied. "Apparently, Sapphire said she's gonna show it to us when it is time for all of us to move in and when all of our stuff has arrived there."

"Even still, the fact that it's a mansion just makes me think of my old home during my time with Svengallop," said Rara.

"Well, at least you won't have to stay with somepony else," said AJ. "It's better than nothing."

"I guess you're right," Rara replied.

Just then, the song that was playing ended and Vinyl took the microphone. "ALRIGHT EVERYPONY!!!" She announced. "I hope you're all ready for the next song because it has become one of my absolute FAVORITES!!!" Vinyl then turned the song on and the moment it started, Mike immediately recognized it.

"Oh, man. I love that song," he said.

Every single pony that was present immediately took the dance floor. Rara especially found the song very catchy and decided to join the group of dancing ponies with Mike and Applejack not noticing that she stood up and walked to the dance floor. Eventually, Mike and AJ noticed that Rara was no longer at the table. "Hey, where did Rara go?" Asked Applejack.

Mike and AJ looked around before Mike spotted Rara on the dance floor. "Oh, there she is," he said while pointing at her. They saw that Rara was really enjoying herself as the song's catchy tune caused her to make some very adorable dance moves.

"Wow, I don't remember the last time I've seen her having so much fun," said Applejack.

"Maybe we should let her be for the time being," said Mike as he and Applejack watched Rara dance on the dance floor.

Eventually, the time for the concert had come. It was 10:00pm by the time the stage was set up. Ponies and people were gathering up near the stage, ready for the performance to begin. Behind the curtain, Mike and the backup dancers had their instruments at the ready, while Rara, who was in her tone down version of her countess outfit from the Manehattan concert, joined them. "Alright, places everyone," Rara said as they all got into position.

Soon, the lights dimmed and a single spotlight shone on the curtain as Twilight walked through them. The crowd cheered at the young Alicorn princess. "Welcome everyone and everypony to the second stop of the multi-dimensional tour of 2 very talented artists," Twilight announced. "Now, we're not gonna keep you waiting so ladies, gentlemen, and ponies! Please welcome the one and only COUNTESS COLORATURA!!!"

The crowd roared as the curtains parted revealing Rara, Mike, and the 6 backup dancers. They all smiled at the crowd before they tuned their instruments and began their performance.

As soon as the song ended, the crowd roared and cheered as the curtains closed. As soon as it did, Rara headed off to the changing room while Mike and the backup dancers prepped the stage for Rara's 'surprise parting gift' for Applejack.

Soon, Rara returned from the changing room back in her black sleeveless shirt and silver skirt and the stage was prepped and ready with the Canterlot Orchestra and Rara's piano, which Coco and the backup dancers helped bring from Manehattan after Mike and Rara told Coco about their idea during breakfast. "Is everything ready?" Rara asked.

"Yes, everything is ready," Prance replied before he and the others nodded at Mike. Mike nodded back and gave a thumbs up to Twilight who nodded and went back through the curtains. "And now ladies, gentlemen, and ponies. We have another treat for you tonight," Twilight announced. "Countess Coloratura is leaving Equestria for Earth in a few weeks and she has a friend who she has known since childhood who actually lives here in Ponyville." The crowd started murmuring at each other while Applejack, who was in the front of the crowd, was looking around in confusion as she knew that Twilight was talking about her. "Therefore, she decided to give said childhood friend a surprise parting gift before she leaves Equestria. So ladies, gentlemen, and ponies! Please welcome back to the stage. Countess Coloratura!"

The crowd cheered as the curtains parted revealing Rara in the same outfit, with the same piano, and the same plain backdrop that she had during the Helping Hooves Music Festival.

Applejack went wide-eyed as she realized what her 'surprise parting gift' was. 'No, she's not gonna...' But that was all she could internally say as Rara began playing her piano and singing.

During the song, Applejack teared up and Mike, who was standing in the sidelines, smiled at Rara's performance. As soon as Rara finished, the crowd cheered.

After the concert was over, Mike and Rara were at the train station waiting to hop on a train back to Manehattan to pick up the last remaining stuff from Rara's bedroom in Coco's apartment and move it to their new home in Miami. As they waited for their train to arrive, the Mane 6 came to say goodbye to them.

"Well, this is it," said Rara.

"Yeah," said Applejack.

"Look, AJ. I know it's gonna feel weird seeing us in another city in another world, but just so you know, you are more than welcome to visit us," said Mike.

"And YOU are more than welcome to visit US," said Twilight.

"Twilight's right, darling," said Rarity. "Besides, I do have a business of my own in Miami, so you two might be able to see me around."

"Just make sure to be careful," said Rainbow Dash. "I've heard Miami has a huge crime rate."

"Every large city has a large crime rate, even Nashville," Mike said bluntly. "Besides, we're gonna live in a mansion and from what I've researched, those things are heavily guarded. So it's not like we're gonna be a victim of burglary."

They all shared a laugh. Just then, a train whistle sounded and a train stopped at the station. Down the platform, Coco and the six backup dancers were helping to get Rara's piano onto the train.

"Well, here we are; the tough part," said Rara.

As passengers began boarding and disembarking from the train, Mike and Rara started to make their way to it.

"Rara, wait!" Applejack called.

Rara looked back at Applejack, who was giving her a tearful smile.

"I-I just wanna say thank you. Thank you for the gift. I loved it," Applejack said.

Rara smiled back at Applejack.

"ALL ABOARD!!!" The conductor shouted.

Rara looked back at Applejack and the two childhood friends shared one last hug.

"Bye, Rara," said Applejack.

"Bye, AJ," Rara said, unable to keep herself from tearing up.

Once they separated from their hug, they shared one last look at each other before Rara followed Mike onto the train. The train then blew it's whistle and began to pull out of the station. On board Mike and Rara were waving at the Mane 6 while the Mane 6 waved back at them until they were out of sight.

Once the train was out of sight, the Mane 6 began to leave the station, except Applejack. She stayed on the platform for a few minutes staring into the direction the train went down. She was sad that her childhood friend and one of her newest friends were no longer gonna be in places she knew, but deep down she knew that they were happy. With that thought in mind, Applejack let out a deep sigh and left the train station.

On board the train, Rara couldn't help but feel sad to leave her childhood friend behind, but she knew that she had Mike with her and she couldn't help but feel happy every time she was around him. With that thought in mind, she leaned onto Mike's lap and dozed off.

Mike smiled. Rara's sleeping form never failed to amuse him. He looked out the window and let out a sigh as the train made it's way out of Ponyville and onto the countryside.
