PonyField: Equest

"All right, remember the mission, get in, capture Shining, get out. Remember that the princess wants him alive, only kill if absolute necessary."

Several weeks ago, Shining Amor had contacted the princess for the first time. He had changed a lot. A patch on his left eye, some weird accent, and his coat had faded from white to a dark gray. His demand was to hand over Canterlot to him, or he would take it by force. He had said all of the continent will be his, starting with it's largest country, Equestria. While the 40 second message was broadcast, recon satellites had been able to track down a rough area of his location. Stealth team "Gamma 7", a group of 5 of the best trained military assassins had been sent to this location to capture Shining Armor.

"Right, let's get this over with" Capson had replied to their commander codenamed "Smitty"

He thought the mission would be easy, every one of their missions was as such. They had been on a lot of missions, taking out some of the world's most wanted men. The world had changed in the last 12 years, it had changed a lot. Their location was a small fortress in a jungle, it was dark and raining and Gamma 7 were all in Camouflage suits that they had made from natural leaves and grass. Worked very well, enemies could never see where the fire was coming from. Of course their guns were also draped in a leaf blanket and had attached silencers.

The team advanced, taking small pauses to crouch and check for enemies through their scopes. When the military was created, Shining Armor had engineered a ring-like device that could be attached to the outside of a hoof, there was a small mount that held a gun of choice and could rotate 90 degrees vertically and horizontally, for ease of transportation. A small curved metal beam would be attached to the trigger and wrapped around the ring and attached to the bottom of the hoof, a strong push would spring the beam and fire the weapon.

When they made their way to the entrance of the fortress, Argo placed a small but silent explosive charge on the handle of the door, with their night vision goggles on, they detonated the charge and barged inside. Nothing. Putting their guns down but their guard's up, the team walked through the first corridor and found a metal staircase spiraling downwards.

"It's way too quiet, this could be a trap" Joel said. They all had headsets tuned into frequency that only the 5 members of the team used, it was almost impossible to crack. The microphones amplified their voices so they could whisper and stay quiet, but if someone yelled "Grenade!" the microphone would deafen their voices so it wouldn't hurt anyone's ears.

"Were a stealth team, we don't get discovered, that's why it's so quiet" muttered their commander

"Yeah but, usually we can hear people talking or walking or something"

"Relax Joel, we'll be fine"

They slowly made their way down the staircase, none of them uttering a single word until they made their way to the bottom. "Oh my god" said Lester, "What the hell is this place?"  Suddenly back in Canterlot where Gamma 7 was being monitored, their frequency went blank, their heartbeat's stopped.

"Smitty, Smitty, do you read me?" General Zeis said into the microphone. Their only reply was static. "That's it" he said. The princess was in complete shock, Gamma 7 had always completed their missions flawlessly. She knew that what they were dealing with was far beyond what she had thought. Thus war began.
