Potato Plot (Suddenly Potatoes)

"Time for some slide bowling!" PInkie hopped to the top of the tubular slide in the gym and lined up a ball. Twilight placed down 10 multicolored pins at the end of the slide and tapped her hoof 2 times to signal a ready. She threw the ball down which managed to a few loops around the tunnel, so when the ball came out the other end it hit a blue pin on the edge making it shake but it didn't end up toppling over.

"Since that pin didn't fall that's a gutter ball" Twilight informed writing a 0 on the notepad, the earth pony tried again this time by going down the slide herself head first, even though she ended up getting a strike, it also gave her a red bump on her head.

"Ow... okay i'll admit that was a lot more painful than I thought, think I got a minor headache" she remarked rubbing the back of her head and the lifting part of her mane to rub the red bump with her hoof making her jolt back in pain "You know Pinkie how about we try a different, safer game." Twilight said putting down Pinkie's mane, empathizing the safer part, she then walked over to her box of plastic food collectibles.

"While that bump heals, how about you count you collectible with a...counting rhyme" the unicorn suggested "Great idea Twi, 1 collectible, 2 collectibles, 3 collectibles,4...5 collectibles, 6 collectibles, 7 collectibles more!" she eventually decided on the cupcake collectible, before she could continue her counting rhyme and pick out another toy the alarm went off "You think you'll be able to get to the control room?" Twilight asked her friend

"Yeah I mean it's just a bump and headache!" she responded before following behind the unicorn superpony. They both made their way to the control room "Alright putting whatever's going on screen"

Fluttershy turned the alarm off which then deployed and turned the screen on, it showed a few potatoes somehow rolling down a grassy hill seemingly out of nowhere.

"Potatoes?" Rainbow asked extremely confused "You know everypony i'm not one who goes to investigate weird problems but this is one is at least 20% weirder than normal so i'm going out but just to make this a little less weird Fluttershy you're coming with me to the launcher!"

"We've got a problem, what should we do?" The pegasi slid down into the launcher

"Who's going out there? Who do we choose?" the yellow pegasus ends up bumping into the blue one while both were being scanned

"Here's a problem need to fix!" All the cutie marks light up one at a time

"Who's going out there? Superpony 4 and 6!" The 2 pink butterflies and rainbow lighting bolt lights up, Fluttershy hopped in her pod and finally loaded into the launcher, Rainbow and her pod shortly behind "Ready Rainbow And Fluttershy?" Twilight asked "Ready as we always are!" The rainbow pegasus replied "Then off you go!" Pinkie exclaimed

"5,4,3,2,1,0!" the 2 remaining ponies counted down in union, Pinkie pressing the release button whcih turned Rainbow into a trail of rainbow colored lightning bolts. Twilight flipped through a few residents and random locations, before starting to flip through different hills, like one on a football field, in a random field, one with a water well on top, one on a soccer feild, before landing on a hill with a playground on top and a large swing not far from the bottom.

"Alright Fluttershy let just watch for some rolling potatoes?" Superpony 6 informed but once she got to rolling potatoes here tone turned from confident to somewhat confused. They look up at the hill, nothing they wait a few moments, nothing. "Maybe there's no more potatoes to roll down the hill. " Superpony 4 suggested "There has to be some trace of these rolling potatoes." Rainbow countered

"How about we relax a little over that pile of white cotton." The yellow peagsus suggested pointing a hoof at said pile. They both trotted over to it but when they placed their back against it rather than a soft, comfortable feeling they instead felt a mushy weird feeling. "EW! That is not cotton!" the blue pegasus exclaimed

Fluttershy scooped some up and tasted it "It's mashed potatoes sorry about that Dash didn't recognize it's texture at first. Guess you're right there is traces that potatoes had rolled down this specific hill."

"Pinkie from base here Twilight told me that maybe you two could try singing my counting rhyme, and by that I mean sing the counting rhyme 1 Potato, 2 Potatoes, mines was just a variation"

"Worth a shot, come on Flutters" Rainbow responded, shrugging a little "1 potato, 2 potatoes, 3 potatoes, 4, 5 potatoes, 6 potatoes, 7 potatoes, more!" Both superponies then saw a potato roll up a slide, a piece of equipment from the playground on top of the hill.

"Looks like more potatoes are coming." the rainbow maned pegasus announced "Those are some pretty big potatoes" the yellow mane peagsus commented "Those are GIANT POTATOES JUMP OUT THE WAY!" Dash warned before jumping left and Flutters jumping right both out the way of the giant rolling potato.

"It's gonna crash into the swing set!" the pegasi watched as said vegetable crashed into the swing set breaking a few chunks of it off and causing all the swings to rattle loudly.

"What in Bulletproof's name is making all these giant potatoes?!" Rainbow eagerly asked knowing whoever was causing this will be spotted and her hunch was right, cause both then heard a distorted laugh "Look up in that tree it's The Shadow King!"

"Twilight from base putting The Shadow King's information on screen!" the unicorn then pressed a random button in the control room
if you spot a thorn of rock, guess what that thorn can cause? (Uh-oh!) he's the malicious, evil-filled Shadow King

"Sliced, diced or mashed, those are the ways you'll get these giant potatoes." The stallion taunted followed by distorted laughing and finally capped off by the stallion shooting a beam of green magic which hit the op

"He's thorned another potato, it's rolling up the steps." the sometimes shy peagsus started now able to see the black thorn on the giant vegetable "It's rolling down, IT'S ROLLING THIS WAY! JUMP!" the adventerous pegasus yelled tackling her firned out the way, just barely avoiding getting crushed by the gigantic potato, said vegetable rolled past the swing set.

"It's heading for the fence! *SPLAT!* ohhh sliced and mashed" the yellow peagsus remarked "What a mess" the other one added

"Hey it's 3 from base, I know a way to get rid of these potatoes, notice how the first rhyme counts up from-" she was suddenly interrupted "Be careful Pinkie!" Twilight warned fearing that The Shadow King might hear her due to how close the pegasi were to him.

"1 potato, 2 potatoes, 3 potatoes, 4, 5 potatoes, 6 potatoes, 7 potatoes, more!" the pink pony whispered to the 2 pegasus "So you're saying that we have to sing a rhyme that counts down?" Rainbow asked "Yeppers and don't worry I've already come up with one it goes 6 potatoes, 5 potatoes, 4 potatoes, please go, 3 potatoes, 2 potatoes, 1 potato, 0!"

"I'll send you 2 some magic to count all those giant potatoes to 0!" Twilight announced "Quickly! We can see more giant potatoes coming." Fluttershy whispered the pegasi having spotted a whole line of potatoes waiting to roll down the hill. The unicorn then trotted over to and pressed the button to activate the magic producing trampoline.

"6 potatoes, 5 potatoes, 4 potatoes, please go, 3 potatoes, 2 potatoes, 1 potato, 0!" Twilight and Pinkie repeated as they jumped in the trampoline releasing the blue stream of magic through the sky as one of the giant potatoes rolled down the slide, onto the hill and retained to wreck the swing set or hit the 2 superponies.

"Got the magic!" Both pegasus said in union both are now glowing blue, "6 potatoes!" they both zapped the first potato, which got surprisingly close to them turning it back to it's original size "5 potatoes, 4 potatoes, please go, 3 potatoes, 2 potatoes, 1 potato, 0!" they completed the rhyme zapping all the potatoes that were heading for them the wings and the fence for a long distance.

"Done it but what about smudge head?" Rainbow asked, although all the potatoes were returned to normal they still crashed with enough force to get a chunk of them broken off "I've got an idea 6 thorns, 5 thorns, 4 potatoes, go away, 3 potatoes, 2 thorns, 1 thorn, 0!"

"Lets count this Shadow King down to zero" Rainbow declared both ponies having caught the magic "6 thorns, 5 thorns, 4 potatoes, go away, 3 thorns, 2 thorns, 1 thorn, 0!" they release the magic on the stallion, he starts yelling unintelligibly as he shrinks eventually disappearing into nothing.

"We've done-HEY I TOLD THEM NOT TO STEAL MY POTATOES!" the pegasi heard a male voice yell, they walked over the hill and hid behind a slide's leg in the playground, they saw a red dragon in gardener attire staring at an empty potato garden, with holes in the dirt.

"Looks like the Shadow King was using those dragons potatoes to make trouble." Fluttershy whispered and having put together "But all his potatoes were turned giant which were sliced or mashed or got chunks of them broken off" Dash added

"Don't worry I got this" Pinkie said "1 potato, 2 potatoes, 3 potatoes, 4, 5 potatoes, 6 potatoes, 7 potatoes, more!" the yellow peagsus cuaght the magic and used it to re fill the dragon's garden, he looked around a little "Swear I saw something or someone." they heard him say before he started to place the potatoes into a basket

"We've done it!" Twilight and Pinkie cheered "Come on back you 2 pegasus!" the pegasi were turned into their cutie marks which flew out of the hill, through the hill and finally made it back to the counter with the iconic to them castle playset on top.

"Great job Dashy and Flutters!" PInkie congratulated "I'm still confused with how weird that misson was never thought i'll go on a mission involving potatoes.

"The bump on my head is now healed, let's try this again." Pinkie threw another red ball down the slide and although it hit the same pin at the first time it actually knocked it over.

"Wow Pinkie's that actually a pretty good improvement from last ti-" Twilight flinched when she heard the sound of bowling pins being knocked over she looked and saw that Pinkie had gone down the slide again his time fore hooves first and had gotten a strike.

"That was painful but not as much at last." Pinkie remarked once again
