Chapter one: Sisters Reunited
canterlot castle, Day of the summer sun celebration
On this bright and sunny day, all was busy especially in the castle, they were ponies rushing to send messages, there were ponies hanging decorations, and the kitchens were filled to the brim with heat and the aroma of baking, Because today was not like any other day, Today was the summer sun celebration, a day When everypony celebrated the work and effort the Solar Princess does for the country, It was a day of celebration and of relaxation for everypony.
'where is that fucking mad mare' Well almost everypony Thought Raven inkwell Personal aid to Princess Celestia.
Raven marched down The corridors of the castle, looking for said solar matriarch, 'I swear to harmony, If I catch her eating cakes in the kitchen again I'll put her on a diet for a month!'
Raven respected the princess, she really does, but by harmony the solar matriarch makes it hard to do so sometimes, on Some days she feels more like she's the princess's babysitter then assistant.
Marching through the corridors as respectfully and quickly as she could, the well dressed unicorn Notice a Pegasi guard On duty, ''Excuse me, but have you seen the Princess'' Spoke inkwell.
Being addressed by the princess's aide, the Royal Guard straightened up His posture a bit more and answered her ''Yes I have Miss Inkwell, I saw the princess Walking to the east tower of the castle, With oddly enough a bucket and some mops''.
This news causes her eyebrow to rise slightly, ''hmm very well thank you for the directions, As you were'', She said respectfully while turning and heading to the east tower
A few minutes into her journey there, She began to notice strange things, the solar iconography that is usually so commonplace In the castle, has been greatly altered. The gleaming white and gold Banners that displayed Celestia's proud sun, Have changed to display A brilliant crescent moon Surrounded by blues and silvers, the more she walked the more she noticed the changes.
'I'm definitely going to have to ask her why the sudden changes' She thought simply filing her curiosity away for later, reaching the stir away to the tower She quickly ascended and sensing her lady's magic at work up there She slightly increased her pace even more.
Reaching the door of the tower, she first gives herself a quick once-over, making sure her attire are still neat Noticing that it is she took a deep breath and was about to knock, ''You may enter Raven'', said a melodious voice from behind the door That caused her to pause slightly.
'Why does she always do that' ,She thought with slight irritation, quickly after regaining her composure, she opened the door and entered the room, and as she entered she noticed that, it was completely void of any dirt or dust despite this tower rarely being used and that the solar iconography was also replaced Here leaving the new the Lunar one taking its place All of this made the once unused room completely Immaculate.
But the greatest thing she noticed, Was the massive eight feet and a half tall figure, of the alicorn princess with hands covered in dust, Just sitting on the master bed of the room, staring at a grandfather clock Seeming to be waiting for something, ''Hello Raven, sorry for the trouble, I just had to prepare this room''. Princess Celestia said.
''No apologies needed your majesty'', Spoke Raven while giving a bow ''but why? if you needed this room prepared, I could have organised some of the maids to do so Your majesty''.
''Yes but sadly this needed my personal attention'', She said standing up from the bed and walking towards Raven, a look of apology clear on her ivory furred face, ''Again sorry for the trouble Raven''.
Looking up at the Solar princess, A little bit of Raven's irritation melted away, just a little bit, ''Ok then Seeing that the room seems Sufficiently prepared, We need to prepare you for the summer sun celebration your majesty'' She said respectfully.
This statement caused the princess, to Look back at the grandfather clock, ''Could you please wait two minutes'' she said While observing the time.
''And why your majesty?'' Raven asked in confusion
''Because if all is well, I'm supposed to receive a warning'', She answered matter of factly
''a warning my lady,'' Raven's voice hitched slightly from the Strange reply, ''From who and about what?''
''From my student Twilight and about what you probably find out tomorrow'' She said while still looking at the clock
''Your Highness could you please be more clear, how does lady twilight know of an inco- '' Before Raven could finish her sentence, exactly at the two minute mark, The princess received her message , and With a desperation Raven hasn't seen from the princess, she snatched the letter from the air The instant it materialised from dragon fire, quickly The princess began to read, And as she read Raven saw her monarch's face, Become a strange mixture of relief and fear, a thing again Raven never Thought she would see from her Princess.
But then something she did recognise came from the princess, resolve and courage Made themselves known on the Solar matriarchs Features, And it was with those features That she turned to Raven and gave her orders ''raven Inkwell You have served me well for years, And it is because of that service you have earned my trust And hopefully I have earned yours'',
''thank you your majesty and of course you have my trust, But what is this warning about your majesty?'' She said urgency clear as day
''Then it is with this trust, that I must ask you Follow my orders without question quickly and immediately Without the slightest deviation do you understand''
Raven looked into the solar princess's eyes, the usual humour and compassion In those eyes were gone, and all that was Left was pure authority '' Yes your majesty I understand'' Raven said without hesitation
''good I am gonna send Twilight and spike to ponyville, an hour after they leave the castle is gonna be filled with gas, do not worry it will be harmless It is Just meant to cause an evacuation to empty the castle'', Raven listened intently, Immediately after the castles empty you must find captain shining armour give him this letter, ''Lighting up her horn The Solar Princess conjured the letter with the royal seal and handed it to Raven, ''This letter contains orders for him to follow Immediately If the sun does not rise tomorrow, do you understand''
''Yes your Majesty'' Answered Raven
Nodding her head the solar princess's expression softened a little bit ''Sorry For the secrecy but I'll explain everything tomorrow'' Said the solar matriarch
Giving a quick salute Raven left to fulfil her duties, Leaving the Solar princess alone In the room No longer looking at the clock But at the images of the crescent moon With an unreadable expression on her face
Throne room, Thirty minutes before moonrise
In the now empty halls of the castle, Princess Celestia sits alone on her throne, holding a tiara in her hands, Staring at it, as if she was afraid it would disappear if she ever looked away, Despite what it was made of the tiara seemed like nothing special, Except for a name engraved on the tiara a name written in old equush, a name that flung her mind back a thousand years, Property of Princess Luna Solaris Nocturne.

(Start of flashback Two months after exile)
''PRINCESS!! PRINCESS!! PLEASE OPEN THIS Thrice Damned DOOR!!!!,'' Pleaded A unicorn healer, with all his emotional and magical might as he tried to telekinetically Rip, the magically sealed door off its hinges to Celestia's chambers, but it did not matter how hard he pushed or how Loudly he pleaded, His Pushing was found Wanting And his pleas landed on deaf ears, as the heavily bandaged mare on the other side of the door, With blood pouring out of her eyes, ears and nose Stared into time itself.
[Future 10031: Celestia finally brought herself to kill her, sister After 300 years of war After she returned from the moon]
''NO'' Said Celestia Rejecting another
[Future 10032: Nightmare Moon kills Celestia, After Celestia fails To separate the nightmare from Luna through magical experimentation]
''NO''
[Future 10033: Celestia and Nightmare Moon After warring for one thousand years End up killing each other]

''NO NO NONONONONO'' She screamed, so desperately she inadvertently used the counterlot voice that shook the entire room Before she could discard this future, And look into another one, her little remaining strength leaves her withered Form As she collapses onto the ground, Gasping Breathing in the month old air.
''why why why can't I save her,'' She said in a voice so hollow it Couldn't even fill the empty room '' Somebody anybody Tell me why, By harmony Somebody please tell me why.''
She pleaded as she laid on the ground, being covered by month old dirt, Ignoring the roars of her stomach for food, how could she even think of eating when her sister is locked in the moon with that monster 'what am I missing there has to be a way to save her and equestria there has to be, she thought,.
drawing on the little strength she has left, she forces herself the peer into the future again 'What variable am I not accounting for?, There has to be something, something I have missed?',
But then she saw it, the lavender star of magic not being wielded by her but by Samepony else, some pony far into the future and this image for whatever reason, filled her heart with hope

Taking a deep breath, the solar mare Tried to come her nerves the best she could, but the universe seemed to have other plans, She felt it move, through the lay lines Of the world She felt to the moon move, without her influence, and not long after that, She was not alone in the palace anymore.
''Hello sister'' Said Celestia to a seemingly empty throne room.
In response to her greeting, A beam of dark blue magic Was fired from the shadows, And the Solar Matriarch Let it hit her, Allowing her heart to be destroyed As the beam passed through her chest ''now Cough is that Any way to great a sibling''.
The image of nightmare moon emerged from the shadows, Like a shark breaking the surface of the water, ''For a sister who banished us for a millennia, yes we do believe this is appropriate'' said nightmare moon with bitterness dripping from every word.
it took all the discipline Celestia possessed, not to be crushed by the guilt the nightmare's words invoked, ''Fair'' said she in a voice she hopes sounded confident ''i'' She stuttered, ''I thought the elements would have helped you, not send you away I am sor''
''Silence!!!'', Shouted the nightmare Cutting off Celestia's words, As she marched towards her ''We do not care for your falsehoods, Our only care is for the crown''
''Luna please, I'm speaking the truth'' She begged hoping her sincerity, would reach her sister ''I do not care about the crown, You can have it but as yourself, not as This thing''
''I thought we demanded, that you cease with your honey words,'' Nightmares spoke through Bird fangs ''we are nightmare moon, Not that weak little sister you pretended to care for''
''Now who's speaking falsehoods,'' said Celestia in defiance ''I do not care what lies that parasite told you, I love you Luna and I will not fight you''.
With the instant speed of teleportation, Nightmare Moon appeared before, her hand striking at Celestia's chest, she saw it coming, no light left her horn to defend herself, and no muscle twitch to stop the blow.
''Then this conversation is over'' Said the nightmare staring into Celestia's eyes, with her hand embedded in her stomach began to freeze Celestia inside out.
Celestia did not wince in pain, she did not struggle Even though her insides were being frozen By her sister's hands, She just looked into her sister's eyes, And said words so true to her, That everything else she ever said before felt like a lie ''I love you Lulu I always will''
And for a brief instant, The cat like eyes of nightmare moon Filled with so much Envy and hatred, Vanished into eyes filled with sorrow and regret but only for the previous of moments She saw the eyes of her sister, And seeing those eyes causes Celestia to have a vision of the immediate future.
[Twilight and her new friends, strike Nightmare Moon with the power of harmony stripping the parasite away from her sister allowing for Luna the sister she loves so much to return.]
Seeing this vision, a small smile appeared on Celestia's face before being frozen completely
