The Scooby-Doo! Mysteries: Scooby-Doo and the Alien Invadersby CrashGuy41ChaptersStranded in the DesertLesterClose Encounters of the Scooby KindCrystal and AmberStranded in the DesertIt was late one night outside of Scorpion Ridge near Roswell, New Mexico. Three members of SALF were monitoring the stars for alien lifeforms when suddenly a huge auditory blast came over the headset of the operative at the control panel. The man's name was Max. He wore a blue shirt and a blue baseball cap. His partner, a woman with brown hair tied in a ponytail wearing a yellow shirt named Laura, asked him what had just happened. "I got a blast from something," Max said, rubbing his left ear from the pain in his eardrum. Laura walked over to the console and confirmed that Max was telling the truth. "It's over 120 on the meter," Laura said, concerned. Max put his headset back on to try to pick up the signal again, but it had already vanished. Just then, a man walked in the station with a white popped collar shirt and blue-green vest. His name was Steve and was with the other two people. "What's going on?" Steve asked chuckling. "We just got a reading," Laura explained. "A loud one," Max said, pointing to his headset. Steve couldn't believe his ears and checked Max's sonar monitor, but there was no signal. "Whatever it was, it's gone now." Steve mentioned that despite them wanting to work another shift, that all three of them need to get their rest. "Well, we've earned our pay from Uncle Sam today," Max informed, handing the headset over to Steve. "Who knows? We might've actually reached someone out there," Laura said confidently. "Maybe they're already here," Steve said smugly as a blip appeared on the sonar monitor. ***** Meanwhile, out on the dusty New Mexico roads was a rainbow-colored bus with seven emblems on the side. The bus had looked like it had seen better days, though, as it across the desert landscape with its driver being their lead vocalist, Rainbow Dash. She had the radio tuned in to a rock and roll station with the volume turned up very loudly. "Rainbow Dash, would you mind turning down that insidious racket? I am trying to get some sleep!" Rarity hissed as she angrily lifted up her sleep mask. "Way to spoil my fun, Rarity," Rainbow groaned, turning off the radio. "I was going to wake you guys up anyways. We're coming up towards a town, which means that they could have some good food there!" "Rainbow, we just had dinner a couple of hours ago," Sunset yawned, looking at her phone. "I know, but the food wasn't even tasty and the service was absolutely terrible," Rainbow groaned as the dust storm started picking up. As she continued driving, the storm eventually got so bad that she couldn't see where she was going. She eventually turned off the road and onto a rocky path in the desert that was actually private United States government property. "What is... with... this road?" Twilight asked between the bumps while trying to keep her glasses in place. "Oh, my goodness! What is that awful screeching sound?" Rarity shrieked, covering her ears upon hearing the ominous sound. Suddenly, from out of nowhere, bright lights appeared outside of the bus. The lights were coming from what appeared to be a giant alien spaceship. The lights eventually blinded the girls as the ship flew away, causing Rainbow Dash to veer the bus towards a guy wearing a green t-shirt and his giant Great Dane, Scooby-Doo. The two of them barely managed to get out of the way as Rainbow Dash veered the bus straight into a rock, bringing the bus to a complete stop. Thankfully, the airbags barely managed to save her life. "Is everyone alright?" Applejack asked. The other six girls in the bus replied to her that they were all okay. Soon, the whole group exited the bus and were curious as to what the flying craft that they saw was. "Well, at least the tour bus is okay." Applejack gently patted the bus, which eventually caused the entire thing to fall to pieces. "Or rather it WAS okay until you decided to not bring any tools along," Sunset retorted, folding her arms. "Yeah, guess I thought she could handle one last road trip before we'd have to make any repairs," Applejack said, chuckling nervously. From the shadows, the teenage boy, named Shaggy, and his pal Scooby-Doo, emerged from their hiding spot and started walking towards the seven girls. "Like, wow! That's even worse than the condition of the Mystery Machine, eh, Scoob?" Shaggy asked. "Ruh huh," Scooby replied. "Well, looks like we'll have to go in to that town over there and ask if anyone can fix it, because I'm not getting any signal on my phone," Twilight said, pointing towards what appeared to be lights in the distance. "Like, hello," Shaggy said walking towards them with Scooby-Doo. Sunset took one look at Shaggy and immediately felt as if her heart stopped. Her face became bright red. Her knees began to knock and her palms became sweaty. She knew in an instant that she had fallen in love. "H-H-H-H-H-Hello," Sunset stammered. "W-W-W-W-W-Who are you?" "Like, I'm Shaggy, and this here's Scooby-Doo," Shaggy said, introducing himself and his talking dog. "Wow. Spike would be impressed. If he wasn't back at home being watched by my parents, that is," Twilight said, feeling embarrassed. "Like, who's Spike?" Shaggy asked. "Oh, Spike's my dog. He's a lot smaller than Scooby," Twilight replied. "I'm Twilight Sparkle, and these are my friends. Applejack, Fluttershy, Rainbow Dash, Rarity, Pinkie Pie, and Sunset Shimmer." Sunset let out a nervous wave as she continued to blush. "Pleased to meet all of you. Scoob and I are watching the Mystery Machine while the gang went into town to get help on fixing it," Shaggy said. "Fix it? Is something wrong?" Twilight asked, feeling surprised. "Like, the radiator's busted, so we can't leave to get back to Coolsville until it's fixed," Shaggy said. "We're headed into town ourselves for help on our tour bus. If we come across your friends we'll tell them that you're still here," Twilight said as she and the others trailed off towards the town of Roswell, New Mexico. As they were walking, Applejack tried her best to keep from laughing. "What's so funny?" Sunset asked sharply. "Nuttin'," Applejack giggled. "Adorable," Rarity said in a sing-song voice. Unbeknownst to the girls, however, something extremely creepy was about to go down in their first true mystery with Scooby-Doo and the rest of the gang... LesterAuthor's Note For those that might be confused, in this universe, the Equestria Girls characters are just normal everyday girls with no magic abilities. In fact, the geodes that they wear are just normal gemstones that are like jewelry accessories. Everything that they do with Scooby-Doo and the gang ties in with the crook-in-a-suit plotline that's been in most iterations of the iconic Hanna-Barbera franchise since 1969. Hopefully this clears things up. Now then... ON WITH THE STORY! Lester The Rainbooms eventually made it into town and ended up in a place known as Sergio's diner. Inside, they met Fred, Daphne and Velma, the friends that Shaggy had mentioned. Fred was a tall young man with blonde hair, blue jeans and a white shirt. Daphne was a slender girl with orange hair wearing a purple tank top with pink shorts. Velma had brown hair with bob cut. She had on glasses just like Twilight and wore an orange short-sleeve t-shirt with a red skirt. Twilight was fascinated at how smart Velma was with an IQ similar to that of her own. Rarity was interested in the fact that Daphne had a real knack for fashion, much like herself. Applejack, who had just met Fred, was waiting for him to reach someone that could possibly repair both the Mystery Machine and her friends' tour bus. Sunset, however, was still fawning over Shaggy, due to the fact that she had just fallen in love with him. "You've got your own lab in an entire shed?" Velma asked. "Uh-huh. It's just a little room about the size of this restaurant," Twilight explained. "It's nothing like those big laboratories in those huge science facilities, but it's decent enough for me to perform my various experiments." "Jinkies! That sounds interesting." Suddenly, both Shaggy and Scooby-Doo tumbled into the restaurant having just been running away from something terrifying. "Shaggy, what happened?" Sunset asked. "You look like you just saw something terrifying!" "We did. L-L-L-L-Like, aliens are after us," Shaggy said, shaking in fear. "Reah! Raliens!" Scooby replied in fear. "Shaggy, there are no such things as aliens!" Twilight berated, putting her hands on her hips. "You think that maybe you and Scooby were just imagining things?" Fred looked outside the restaurant, but didn't see any trace of extraterrestrial life that might've been chasing Shaggy and Scooby. "I don't see anything," Fred said, confirming Twilight's suspicion. "It's true!" Shaggy said fearfully. "They were green and slimy and had big bug-eyes!" Scooby inflated his head with his thumb in order to mimic the appearance of the aliens that both he and Shaggy saw out in the New Mexico desert. "They were eight feet tall and glowing and had long, creepy fingers!" Scooby growled to make himself look as scary as the two aliens that chased them towards the restaurant. Upon hearing this, Fluttershy immediately hid her face behind her long, pink hair in fear. "That sounds scary!" She said fearfully. "It was!" Shaggy said, but then he got distracted by the donuts in the display case, which caused Scooby to revert his head back to normal. The two of them started gobbling up the donuts leaving the waitress, Dottie, and the owner, Sergio, pronounced Serge, to look at each other in confusion. "So, what about these aliens?" Fred asked, feeling curious. "Ain't no big deal, darlin', lots of people have seen 'em," Dottie explained, causing the teens to gasp in shock. "That's why we all don't go out much after dark." "Have you seen them, too?" Velma asked. "No, just the strange lights and the funny sounds at night," Dottie replied. She then pointed to an old man named Lester eating soup at a table and quietly explained that he was taken aboard the aliens' so-called ship. "I told you they're real!" Lester warned. "Them aliens are here to take over the world!" Rarity let out an awkward smile as her left eye twitched in her concern. "Um, darling... Who is that, exactly?" Rarity asked nervously. "That there is Lester. He's a little tetched," Dottie said, tapping her forehead. "Lester, I told you to keep it down or you'll have to leave!" Serge berated, waving his ladle. "Always have to keep quiet," Lester grumbled, sitting back down. Serge walked out of the kitchen and explained that Lester believed that aliens experimented on him. "Experimented?" Shaggy asked fearfully as Scooby swallowed his bite. "About a month ago, some local cattle vanished overnight without a trace," Serge said as he walked behind the counter. "Lot of folks moved out of town," Dottie said in agreement. "Y'all sure that the cattle weren't just being rustled an' the culprits just covered up their tracks?" Applejack asked. "It's possible, but the way the locals described it makes it highly unlikely, young lady," Serge said. "Hmm... Sounds mighty suspicious to me." Serge then brought out two freshly baked desserts. A delicious pie and cake, much to Shaggy and Scooby's delight, as well as Pinkie Pie's. "You like to eat, no?" Serge asked delightedly. "Excuse us, sir. But we understand that you've had some contact with these 'aliens,'" Twilight said, walking over to Lester with her friends and the gang. "That's right, young lady," Lester said, confirming her suspicion. "Took me aboard their ship, they did!" The teens were amazed at what they heard, while Fred was a little bit suspicious of his claim. "Sit 'er down." Fred, Daphne and Velma sat at Lester's table while Twilight, Applejack, Fluttershy, Rarity, and Rainbow Dash sat in the booth next to them. "The aliens looked just like your friend said. I was out one night." Lester started to recount his close encounter with the aliens that Shaggy described earlier. ***** Lester stood out by Scorpion Ridge in the middle of the night looking at the beautiful rocky New Mexico landscape. "By Scorpion Ridge. There was this loud humming sound. And a bright light came up from behind me." An ominous bright light suddenly started engulfing Lester from behind as it closed in on him. "And the light got brighter and brighter, and then..." Lester gasped as the light drew in closer towards him, eventually causing him scream in fear. "I blacked out." When Lester had awoken, he was staring at three green eight-foot-tall aliens with metallic suits. Their heads were shaped like broccoli and they had bulging red eyes that screamed of something out of a 1980's science fiction horror film. He was strapped to a metallic table inside their ship as the aliens carried on a quick conversation. "I woke up strapped to a cold, metal table inside a spaceship. And these aliens were looking down upon me. They stuck a bunch of wires to my head." One of the aliens stuck an electrode wire, often used in hospitals, to Lester's head as he fearfully struggled to get free of the straps that held me down to the table. "They told me not worry, 'cause they just wanted to ask me some questions." ***** Curious about his encounter, Velma asked him what kind of questions that the aliens asked him. "Like, who I was and what I'd seen that night." As Lester continued his story, Rainbow Dash rubbed her right arm as she showed clear signs of fear from how he described his encounter. "Oh, man. That is, like, the scariest thing I've ever heard," Rainbow whimpered. "You're telling me. I just hope those aliens don't come after me," Fluttershy cried as she nearly burst into tears from being terrified of Lester's story. "But what happened after that?" Rarity asked. "I don't remember much after that," Lester admitted. "I woke up the next morning outside my house." Scooby, Shaggy and Pinkie listened to Lester as they stuffed their faces with Serge's desserts. Sunset couldn't help be raise an eyebrow to Lester's story, however, due to how incredibly vague it was. "Has anyone else in town had this experience?" Fred asked. "Don't know. If they have, they's ain't telling me," Lester said. "Brrrrrr! That's creepy!" Daphne shivered. "So, you young'uns better watch out," Lester warned as he stood up. "Or they'll take you aboard they're spaceship too!" As he spoke, his right forefinger accidentally hit Dottie's serving tray, knocking it out of her hand. "Sorry, Dottie. It was an accident." "Oh! What a mess!" Dottie groaned, gesturing to the hamburger that had splattered on the floor from Lester knocking the tray out of her hand. "Don't worry. Scooby will take care of it," Velma reassured, knowing that dogs like to eat food that's dropped on the floor. As Scooby-Doo made his way to the hamburger, Shaggy beat him to the punch and ate the hamburger first. Scooby folded his paws in jealousy. Sunset blushed upon seeing Shaggy perform this action and couldn't help but let out a cute giggle. "Gotta be quicker on the draw there, Scooby," Velma teased. "Hey, Serge! I finally met somebody who likes your cooking!" Dottie mocked as she walked back behind the counter while Shaggy continued to eat the burger. "HA HA! Very funny!" Serge replied sarcastically. Twilight stood up from her booth and walked over to the gang's table. "Do you even have the tiniest bit of proof that you were even remotely abducted by aliens, Lester?" Twilight asked skeptically. "Yep. I've got pictures," Lester replied slyly. The two groups exchanged glances knowing that photographic evidence is usually what either saves or dooms certain speculations. "Could we see them?" Velma asked. Lester nodded his head, letting the kids know that his pictures might be a big clue into solving this crazy space case. Close Encounters of the Scooby KindLester led the gang and the Rainbooms to his one-story house in the middle of the desert. He flipped on the light switch and walked inside his front door. "Well, come on in," Lester said, gesturing the eleven teens and Scooby-Doo inside. Everyone was amazed when they walked inside Lester's home. Fred, Daphne and Twilight noticed various newspaper clippings on his wall with articles dating back to the 1940's. One of the articles managed to catch Twilight's attention. It was an article from July of 1947 of the Roswell Daily Record when RAAF personnel mistook a crashed balloon for a flying saucer. Twilight adjusted her glasses to get a better look at the article. "I remember my grandparents telling me about this incident here in Roswell. Apparently, the rubber and metallic debris from a crashed military balloon made it seem like a flying saucer had landed on Earth," Twilight explained. "Now, that one I can believe, young lady. That's the only article I don't take all that seriously, since it was the early days of the theory of flying saucers," Lester said. "Have you, uh, told the media about your experience with these green aliens, Lester?" Fred asked as Scooby sniffed Lester's model flying saucer next to a message on the wall that read, ALIENS GO HOME! "Oh, yeah. A number of times," Lester scoffed. "But they think I'm some kind of nut!" "Honestly, I can't imagine why they'd see you as a bit of a nut, given how vague and disturbing your story is," Rarity admitted with her arms folded. Shaggy opened the closet door, causing a green alien figurine to fall off the top shelf. The sight of the doll scared Shaggy, Scooby and Fluttershy so much that they ran in the opposite direction close to a flying disk UFO model hanging from the ceiling. "Be careful with that!" Lester snapped. "Like, is this the kind of spaceship you went on?" Shaggy asked as Scooby and Fluttershy were trying to catch their breath after being startled by the creepy-looking alien doll. "Yep, heh. Something like that," Lester chuckled. "But you said you had pictures," Fred said, reminding Lester of what he told them back at the diner. "You bet I do," Lester confirmed. "Lots of pictures." Lester walked over to an area that was covered in a white sheet. He yanked the sheet away, revealing a plethora of beautiful paintings. "Oh! Paintings," Daphne said, feeling a little bit disappointed, as she was expecting actual photographs. "Yep, I'm a landscape artist," Lester said proudly. Rarity knelt down and started flipping through the middle stack of paintings. "I-I-I-I-I do believe that they are very interesting, Lester," Rarity said nervously, trying not to hurt his feelings. "Well, thank you," Lester replied, letting out a chuckle. "I've been tryin' to show people the danger out there, but no one is believing me." Rarity eventually flips to a paining that depicts a spaceship shaped like a deerstalker hat with multiple lights coming from the windows above what appeared to be satellite dishes. Rarity gasped upon seeing the ship and picked up the painting for the others to see. "This looks like the ship we saw earlier," Velma pointed out. "You saw it too, darling?" Rarity asked. Velma nodded her head as Scooby-Doo agreed with her. "We don't even know we saw a ship," Fred said, trying to be logical. "Well, all of us definitely saw something that resembled this spaceship in the painting, Freddy," Rarity said. Twilight adjusted her glasses as she looked at the dishes intently. "Lester, what are these supposed to be?" Twilight asked as Rarity turned the painting around to face him. "SALF dishes," Lester said looking outside his window. "The government up 'em about a year ago." "What are they for?" Daphne asked. "SALF means Search for Alien Life-Forms." "They send and monitor messages to and from space, hoping to find intelligent life," Velma explained. "Ever since they built them dishes, aliens started to show up. And I know why." Hearing this, Shaggy accidentally broke the model cruiser he was holding in half. Seeing this, Fluttershy put her hands on her hips and glared at him annoyingly. Curious, Fred asked why aliens would start showing up after the SALF dishes were built by the government. "TO TAKE OVER THE WORLD!" Lester suspiciously walked over to Shaggy and Scooby, who were trying to put the model back together. Noticing Lester, the two friends hid the pieces behind their backs as Lester walked away. Fluttershy face-palmed in disbelief at what she had just witnessed. "Are you two always this jittery?" Fluttershy asked. "Ruh-huh," Scooby said, nodding his head. "I think Lester's been painting out in the sun too long," Fred said. "Maybe, Freddy, but there could be a connection between those dishes and the aliens," Velma informed. "I think we should investigate." "I agree with Velma on this one. Something suspicious is definitely going on here," Twilight said in agreement as she walked towards the window. "And I'd like to get to the bottom of this and find out if aliens really do exist!" "I got more of them pictures in the back room, you young'uns want to see 'em?" Lester asked as Scooby and Shaggy kept tossing the model cruiser like a hot potato back and forth until it landed safely on the top shelf. "No thanks, is there a hotel in this town?" Fred asked. "There ain't no hotel," Lester chuckled. "But you're welcome to stay here for the night." "That would be absolutely lovely, but we didn't bring our sleeping bags," Rarity admitted nervously. "You mean these things?" Pinkie asked, pulling seven sleeping bags out of her hair. "How did she?" Shaggy asked, in confusion. "It's best not to question how and what with Pinkie Pie. It's just the way she is," Twilight explained, nervously adjusting her glasses. "Well, now that that's settled, you two young ladies can sleep in the back room," Lester said to Daphne and Velma, opening the door to a bedroom with bunk beds and more of his paintings. "It used to be the kids' 'til they moved out." He then picked up the daily newspaper off of his couch, showing Fred where he'd be sleeping. "Like, what about us?" Shaggy asked. "Don't worry. I've got a place for you, too," Lester informed. "BUT QUIT TOUCHING MY STUFF!" Shaggy and Scooby nervously agreed to stop touching his stuff in exchange for a place to sleep for the night. ***** Lester opened a door to the roof of his house and showed Shaggy and Scooby where they'd be sleeping. "Oh, my goodness, Lester! This is beautiful. Um... If you don't mind, I'd like to sleep up here tonight," Fluttershy said, holding her sleeping bag. "Well, don't see why not, young lady. It's real nice up here, ain't it?" Lester admitted, as Shaggy, Scooby and Fluttershy admired the desert landscape. "Now you kids get a good night's rest." He tossed a white sheet towards Shaggy, which landed on top of him, making him look like a ghost. The sight of which ended up terrifying both Scooby-Doo and Fluttershy. "Thanks, Les!" Shaggy called as Lester went back into his house. "Oh, sorry you two." Scooby breathed a heavy sigh of relief when he realized that it was just Shaggy. Later on, after everyone had settled down for the night, two of the aliens that Shaggy described at the diner exchanged glances as they stopped in front of Lester's house. Fred was on the couch with his shoes off, bundled up with a blanket. Rarity slept soundly in her sleeping bag while wearing her purple sleep mask with hair curlers in her hair. Pinkie was in her sleeping bag, as well, muttering in her sleep. Applejack had her Stetson hat covering her face while she slept in her sleeping bag. Rainbow and Sunset were peacefully asleep in their sleeping bags as they had settled in for the night. In the back room, Velma and Daphne were asleep on the bunk beds. Velma had her glasses on the nightstand and the girls' shoes were on the floor next to the beds. In the same room, Twilight also had her glasses off. She had also removed her star hair accessory and her star-shaped scrunchie, letting her hair down for the night as she slept in her sleeping bag. On the roof, Scooby and Shaggy were asleep in the two chairs while Fluttershy was tucked in her sleeping bag in between them. Unbeknownst to Shaggy, Scooby and Fluttershy, an alien spaceship that was hovering above the house slowly approached them while a bright green light illuminated from the bottom of the ship. The light shone brightly on the three friends, which slightly disturbed their sleep. “Like, turn out the night light, Scoob,” Shaggy said in his sleep. From the underbelly of the ship emerged three pairs of metallic claws that lifted Shaggy, Scooby and Fluttershy inside. Once they were inside, the hatch on the underside of the ship closed and the ship flew away from the house. ***** Inside the ship, several bright lights from a ceiling lamp lit up the laboratory-like room. Shaggy, Scooby and Fluttershy were all still fast asleep until Fluttershy began struggling. She slowly opened her eyes and immediately noticed that she was strapped to a metallic table just as Lester had described back at the diner. "Scooby! Scooby-Doo! Wake up!" Fluttershy whispered, shaking. Scooby was still sleeping until two of the aliens that both he and Shaggy encountered out by Scorpion Ridge started making noise and looked down upon him. "What time is it?" Scooby asked groggily. The aliens slowly came into his view and that's when he realized where the three of them were. "Ruttershy? Rhere are re?" "I hate it say it, Scooby! But, we're on these aliens' spaceship!" Fluttershy squeaked fearfully. "Raggy?" Scooby asked fearfully, trying to get his friend awake. "Not now, Scoob," Shaggy said sleepily. "I'd gladly accept the position of food critic for your magazine." "Shaggy, now is not the time to be dreaming of food!" Fluttershy shivered. Shaggy eventually woke up and saw the aliens that he and Scooby encountered earlier. His hair stood on end upon realizing where they were. "ALIENS! Hey, let us go! Like, we taste terrible!" Shaggy said while shaking in fear as one of the aliens extended its green tube-like finger to touch his forehead. "We're all stringy!" "Reah! Ringy!" Scooby agreed as another aliens touched his face as he shook in fear. The last alien proceeded to touch Fluttershy's forehead as she struggled to get loose from the straps. "No. Nononononononono! Don't touch me! Don't touch me! I'll scream! I'll scream!" Fluttershy said panicking. As the alien touched her forehead, true to her word, Fluttershy let out a short scream. "Do not fear us, Earth creatures," The alien looking at Shaggy instructed. "Like, it's too late for that, man," Shaggy said as the three of them shook with fear. The alien next to Scooby's table stuck two electrode wires on him. One on top of his head and one on his nose. Fluttershy shook uncontrollably as the alien over her table stuck one electrode wire to her forehead. The alien over Shaggy's table stuck one to the bottom of his neck near his chest. This caused him to laugh, as it ended up tickling his skin. One last wire was stuck to Scooby's left side, which tickled his fur. All of the laughing caused the aliens to glance at each other in complete confusion. "Cooperate and you will not be harmed," The alien looking at Shaggy warned. Scooby and Shaggy stopped laughing, fearing what the aliens might do to them if they didn't listen. One of the aliens nodded to another over by a console. The alien pushed a button, activating a machine, scaring the three friends. Scooby realized that his tail was free and tried to get it to push a button on his table. Fluttershy noticed what Scooby was doing and tried to get her left hand over to a similar button next to her as she struggled through the straps. "You will released after questioning and physical examination," The alien told Shaggy, looking up from his flashing console. "Like, sorry, but our health plans don't cover physicals," Shaggy said, trying to make an excuse. Scooby's tail eventually hit the button down by his back legs, releasing him of the wires and straps. Fluttershy, strained as hard she could until she eventually pressed the button down by her legs, also releasing herself from the straps and wires. "I did it!" She gasped. The aliens realized what had happened, causing Scooby to push Shaggy's table as he ran away, with Fluttershy following close behind. The aliens chased them around the circular room until Scooby ran in the back of one with Shaggy's table. The two of them soon engaged in a round of tug-of-war, trying to claim possession of Shaggy, who was still strapped to the table. Eventually, they both let go and Shaggy's table went spinning around the room, knocking over the other two aliens. Shaggy noticed what he was looking at and ran away in fear. "A little help, here, you two!" Shaggy screamed. Scooby and Fluttershy ran away from the other alien, but eventually crashed into Shaggy, stopping the three of them in their tracks. The aliens closed in on them and one of them was holding what appeared to be a futuristic-looking taser. The three of them were so scared that they ended up fainting as the alien with the taser prepared to do some experimenting on them. Crystal and AmberIt was early the next morning in the desert of New Mexico. Two figures, one of a young woman and the other of a golden retriever loomed over Shaggy, Scooby-Doo and Fluttershy. "Hey, man. Are you, like, alright?" The girl asked as the three of them slowly got up. Fluttershy rubbed her head as if she had just overslept. "Oh, my head. I feel like I've been run over by the gerbils at the animal shelter," Fluttershy said groggily. "Like, where are we?" Shaggy asked, unsure why the three of them were in the middle of the desert. "You're out in the middle of nowhere, man," The girl responded. Shaggy and Scooby looked at the girl and the golden retriever with their mouths on the floor. Fluttershy shook her head in order to regain full awareness of her surroundings. She noticed that Shaggy and Scooby were staring at the girl and dog in front of them. "Like, what are you guys going out here?" The girl asked. The girl had long, shoulder-length black hair, tied up with an orange headband. She wore an orange shirt that had a belt tied to her waist over it. She also had blue bellbottom pants and had a portable black camera strapped around her neck. Her dog wore a red bandana, that functioned like her collar. Shaggy and Scooby were entranced by the two females that hearts formed in their eyes. "Like, hi," Shaggy said dreamily. "Reah, rello," Scooby said dreamily. Fluttershy waved a hand in front of their faces, but neither of them responded. They were immobilized with love. Seeing this caused Fluttershy to press her forefingers together nervously. "Oh dear, Sunset's not going to be happy about this," She said nervously. The golden retriever just scoffed and turned her head at Scooby, clearly showing that she wasn't interested. "Are you okay?" The girl asked. "Yeah, thanks. Hey, you didn't see any...?" Shaggy started, realizing that he couldn't remember what had happened the night before. "Any what?" "Oh, never mind. Must've been a nightmare or something. Right, Scoob?" Scooby nodded his head in agreement, then smiled lovingly at the golden retriever, who gave him the cold shoulder again. She turned around and slapped his face with her tail, causing Scooby to love her even more. He then followed her as he tried to get her to reciprocate his feelings. "Hey, you want some water?" The girl asked, handing Shaggy her water bottle. "Sure, thanks," Shaggy said taking the water bottle and unscrewing the plastic cap. "Like, what are you doing out here?" "I'm like, a freelance photographer," She replied. "Amber and I are shooting some desert wildlife for a magazine." Amber, the golden retriever, smiled as her friend petted her head as Shaggy finished drinking some of the water before handing it off to Fluttershy. "Hey, we saw a jackalope last night," Shaggy pointed out. Hearing what Shaggy had just said, Fluttershy spat out some of the water that she was drinking and coughed in disbelief. She eventually cleared her throat after getting her swallow down. "A jackalope? But I thought those things were fake," Fluttershy said. "So did we. It's like a rabbit with antlers," Shaggy said, using his hands in place of the antlers. "You are funny," The girl laughed. "Raliens, too," Scooby said, frowning. "Aliens?" The girl asked, not believing her ears. "You understand him?" Shaggy asked, knowing that there are some people that can't understand what Scoobert says. "Clear as crystal. Ha! And that's my name, too. I'm Crystal," Crystal said, introducing herself. "Like, what's your name?" "Norville," Shaggy said dreamily, shaking her hand. "Norville?" Crystal and Fluttershy asked simultaneously. "But, like, everybody calls me Shaggy," He responded. "And that's Scooby-Doo." Scooby stood on his right front paw and hopped on it, trying to get Amber to like him, but to no avail. "Woah. Groovy names," Crystal said. "Groovy? Crystal, you're talking my lingo," Shaggy said. Fluttershy rolled her eyes, annoyed that Shaggy was still holding Crystal's hand. Seeing this, he quickly pulled it away and apologized. "And what's your name?" Crystal asked, looking at Fluttershy. "Um, my name's Fluttershy," Fluttershy said in a near whisper. "I'm sorry, what?" Crystal asked, not being able to hear her. "It's Fluttershy!" Fluttershy said in a whimper. Crystal laughed at her uncontrollable shyness, explaining that she had a nice name. "Um... Thanks. I guess." "So, can you show us where you saw the jackalopes and the... aliens?" Crystal asked with a chuckle. "I think so," Shaggy said nervously. "But we gotta find our friends, first." Fluttershy darted her eyes back and forth as she started sweating and biting her lower lip. She was unsure how Sunset would react upon finding out that Shaggy had fallen in love with Crystal. Eventually, Crystal broke her awkward silence. "Like, you guys want a lift?" She asked, pointing to her jeep. "Sure," Shaggy said dreamily as Crystal and Amber walked towards the jeep. "Scooby, old buddy, I don't know about you, but I just think I found my dream girl." "Me too," Scooby said dreamily. Fluttershy angrily jabbed Shaggy with her left elbow. She glared at him with an annoyed glance. "Like, what was that for?" Shaggy asked. Fluttershy didn't respond. Instead, she just walked towards Crystal's jeep, beckoning Shaggy and Scooby to follow. The three of them climbed inside the jeep. Shaggy sat in the front passenger seat while both Scooby and Fluttershy sat in the back next to Amber. "You've got a groovy set of wheels, Crystal," Shaggy said. "Thanks," Crystal replied as she was driving across the desert. Shaggy then noticed a lot of stuff that was wrapped in a clear plastic bag just barely in front of Scooby. "You sure have a lot of stuff," He said, amazed at how much stuff she actually had. "Like, tell me about it," Crystal replied. "It's all my photography gear." As the five of them traveled along the desert of New Mexico, Scooby attempted to put his arm around Amber. Amber responded by twisting his arm instead, causing Scooby to laugh nervously at his attempt to woo her. Fluttershy, finding the situation cute, let out a small giggle in response at Scooby's failed attempt. Shaggy then noticed something by his feet. Picking it up, he saw that it resembled a box of dog treats. "Mind if I take one?" Shaggy asked, as he was a big fan of the Scooby Snacks that Scooby often ate in order to feel brave during the gang's many mysteries. "Sure, Scooby will love..." Crystal began before seeing Shaggy take a bite out of one of the dog biscuits. Fluttershy raised an eyebrow in confusion at the sight of Shaggy eating a dog treat. Nevertheless, she just smiled and tried not to question why he ate the dog treat in the first place. Seeing what Shaggy had just done, Crystal burst into laughter, as she found his behavior to be downright hilarious as they continued down the desert road. ***** Back in the town of Roswell, the rest of the gang and the Rainbooms headed towards the diner with Lester. "So, you think your friends are here, already?" Lester asked as they entered the diner. "They could've at least waited for us," Fred admitted. "You know how those two get when they're hungry," Daphne chuckled. Sunset blushed upon hearing what Daphne had said. She then twirled her hair in embarrassment, only to see that Pinkie had a smug look on her face. "What are you staring at?" Sunset snapped. "Nothin'," Pinkie said, turning her head the other way with a huge grin on her face. Rarity jabbed Pinkie's arm with her elbow, ultimately getting her stop embarrassing Sunset in front of the gang and Lester. Fred looked at the booths they sat at the night before and noticed that neither Shaggy or Scooby, or even Fluttershy, for that matter, were at the booths. "Good morning, y'all!" Dottie greeted. Everyone, including Lester, greeted Dottie with pleasantry that could only be described as pure politeness. "How'd you sleep last night, dumpling?" Dottie asked Fred flirtatiously. "Did you dream about me?" Fred chuckled nervously at her actions, as they made him quite nervous around Daphne. "If you were in that dream, it'd be a nightmare," Serge scoffed. "No one's talking to you, Serge!" Dottie berated. The two groups sat down at their booths wondering where their friends could be. "Where do you think they are? It's not like Fluttershy to go out in the middle of the night," Rainbow said, knowing that Fluttershy was one that would much rather stay indoors instead of venture out into the darkness. Just then, Velma noticed Crystal pull up outside of the restaurant with their friends in her jeep. "I think I know," She said in a sing-song voice as Shaggy, Scooby and Fluttershy got out. Hearing Velma's tone made Sunset realize that something was going on with Shaggy. She looked out the window and saw him dreamily waving at Crystal as she drove while Lester explained that she's been hanging around for about a week. Twilight pressed her fingers together nervously, knowing very well what Sunset was feeling. Sunset scowled at the sight of Shaggy being with another girl. "Darling, please. Let's not jump to conclusions. For all we know, this person could've just offered out dear Mr. Rogers a ride here, due to possibly having overslept," Rarity said with a nervous chuckle trying to calm Sunset's apparent rage. Shaggy and Scooby dreamily entered the diner and sat down at the gang's table, while Fluttershy sat down with the other girls next to Pinkie. "Hey, where have you guys been?" Fred asked out of concern. "And who was that girl?" Daphne asked out of curiousity. "Her name's Crystal. She's wonderful," Shaggy said dreamily, putting his head in his hands. "And is her golden retriever wonderful, too, Scooby?" Velma asked. "Reah, ronderful," Scooby said dreamily. The conversation was making Sunset very angry. She laid her head in her left hand as she picked up a fork with her right, twirling it as if she needed to do something to quell an oncoming fit of jealous rage. Applejack was the first one to speak upon noticing her odd behavior. "Y'all right, Sugarcube?" She asked concerningly. "What does it look like, Applejack?" Sunset snapped. "Aw, is somebody jealous?" Pinkie asked, moving her eyebrows. Sunset growled at Pinkie's response. "I am NOT JEALOUS!" She shouted, causing some of the other customers to stare at her. Sunset blushed in embarrassment, seeing that she had made a fool of herself for shouting those words in a public diner. Her little outburst caused both Velma and Daphne to laugh, as they knew very well that Sunset was jealous of Crystal. Eventually, Dottie came over the gang's table to take their orders. "Okay, what's it gonna be?" Dottie asked, clicking the end of her pen to take their order. "How about you, hon?" "Nothing for me," Shaggy said dreamily. "Re reither," Scooby said dreamily. The other teens gasped in shock upon hearing their two normally-hungry friends actually admit that they weren't hungry. "Are you guys serious?" Fred questioned. "Yeah.Reah," Shaggy and Scooby said simultaneously, still thinking about Crystal and Amber. "I think they're seriouly in L-O-V-E," Velma teased, causing Dottie to let out a small chuckle. "Just bring us four ranch breakfasts, Dottie," Lester said. "You got it," Dottie replied, jotting the order down on her notepad before walking over to the Rainbooms' table. "How about you young ladies?" "I'd say whatever they're having's fine with us," Appleajck said, causing Dottie to jot down their orders as seven ranch breakfasts. As she walked away, Sunset continued to twirl her fork to try and hide her jealousy, but Pinkie was making it difficult for her. "Oooooooohhhhh... Sounds like someone's found his soul mate," Pinkie said, moving her eyebrows. "Um, Pinkie, I wouldn't bring that up if I were you," Fluttershy said quietly. "Awwww, why not?" Pinkie asked. Fluttershy pointed over to Sunset, who had just bent her fork and dropped on the table out of jealousy. "Ohhhh. Right." Pinkie chuckled nervously upon realizing that her actions were only making Sunset more and more angrier. Twilight facepalmed out of frustration and began chastising Pinkie Pie. "Honestly, Pinkie, you think maybe you could've been a little bit more sensitive?!" Twilight asked, folding her arms at her cheery friend. As they waited on their food, Sunset heard Velma and Daphne laughing at Shaggy and Scooby, who had locked lips, due to them daydreaming about Crystal and Amber. "I said, where did you meet them?" Daphne asked, since she had already asked the question before while Shaggy and Scooby were daydreaming. "Well, they found us out in the middle of the desert. Fluttershy was there, too," Shaggy replied. "Whatthewhat?" Rainbow asked in shock. "What they hay were y'all doing in the desert, anyhow?" Applejack asked. Hearing this jogged Shaggy, Scooby and Fluttershy's memory of what had happened to them the night before. "I think Scooby, Fluttershy and I were abducted by aliens last night," Shaggy said softly. "Reah. Raliens," Scooby said, chattering through his teeth. "And you're certain of this, Shaggy?" Twilight asked, turning around. "Well, yeah. Unless all three of us had the same dream," Shaggy said. "More like a nightmare, Shaggy," Fluttershy whimpered. "I can still remember how freaky those aliens were. It was horrible!" Dottie soon came back with the ranch breakfasts and placed them in front Lester, the gang and the Rainbooms. "Tastes better than it looks, hon," Dottie said before walking away. "We all woke up to three aliens on a freaky spaceship," Fluttershy shivered, chattering through her teeth. "Did they experiment on you?" Lester asked, referring to his own experience with the aliens as he started eating his pancakes. "We don't remember," Shaggy admitted as Scooby started crying from the traumatic experience. Fluttershy began crying, as well. Rainbow Dash, being a good friend to her, placed a hand on her right shoulder to try and comfort her. Sunset began to feel a little guilty for her jealous outburst earlier after seeing Fluttershy break down into tears. "Hey, sorry about my outburst, earlier. I guess I'm just not used to having mutual feelings towards someone," She admitted. "I've gone through the same thing, Sunset," Daphne said. "It's no big." Sunset cracked a smile upon hearing Daphne say this to her. This made her feel a lot better, knowing that she's not the only one to get jealous over someone that she has a crush on. "I wonder why those kids are sticking around town," Serge said as the teens carried on their conversations. "Relax, Serge. They're just passing through. You are so suspicious," Dottie said, taking the plates of pancakes, bacon, sausages, and eggs to another table. "Anyways, about this spaceship, are you sure you just didn't see something like a desert mirage, Fluttershy?" Rainbow asked, sprinkling salt on her eggs. "Dashie, darling, we all saw the spaceship last night," Rarity pointed out. "Rarity, we don't even know what that was," Rainbow said. "Rainbow's right. It could've been a new kind of jet or something," Fred added. "Well, we didn't just imagine what happened to us," Shaggy said. "They didn't hurt you guys, did they?" Velma asked. "I don't think so, then later we met Crystal and Amber," Shaggy said as he and Scooby sighed from their encounter with the girls of their dreams. Having already finished her breakfast, Sunset pushed her plate away in frustration. She then folded her arms as she felt a little bit hurt that Shaggy didn't act that they towards her. Still, something about Crystal and Amber felt off to her and she wanted to help Shaggy in any way that she could.
Stranded in the DesertIt was late one night outside of Scorpion Ridge near Roswell, New Mexico.
