The Beauty of the Rock

“Darling, are you ready?” Called Rarity from the other room as she brushed her purple mane, preparing herself for tonight’s Grand Galloping Gala with her newest lover.

“Mhmm, almost.” Replied Maud as she brushed the split ends from her own straight mane. “I’m looking forward to this.” The monotone but smiling earth pony added as she replied to her girlfriend.

Rarity was ecstatic to spend the evening with Maud at the Gala. This may be the second time they’ve went together but this is the first time they would be going as an official date. “I’m glad, darling! This will be a momentous occasion for the two of us, I can feel it!”

The enjoyment, the happiness and positivity that Rarity radiated sent a fuzzy feeling through Maud, her eyes glistening and full of the love and affection she felt for the white unicorn. “I look forward to seeing our friends. I hear Pinkie is bringing Cheese with her this time.”

The sole mention of the two party ponies under the same roof in the most prestigious and influential party in Canterlot would definitely spice up the night. The Gala was known to be chock packed full of snobby and rude guests, all heads stuck in the air higher than the giraffe in Fluttershy’s animal sanctuary and that said a whole bunch of things to Rarity. She would admit that when Discord attended the party with the smooze, the party was much more interesting than her first time.. despite the mess and the loss of her gala dress.

“Oh yes! Pinkie was telling me about her and Cheese would be attending. Will Limestone and Marble come as well?”

Maud shook her head. “Most likely not. It would probably do the two of them the world of good, especially Marble. Limestone is probably going to be working tonight. Speaking of Limestone; she will be attending the Ponyville Pride Parade.”

The Pride Parade was always a treat and pleasure for Rarity and the other ponies who were also in the community! All of those flags and acceptable was a safe haven. Lofty always made the best cookies for the parade and Holiday would sometimes help the decor.

“Ohhh, that’s great! I hope to meet her properly. The last time I saw her, she laughed at Spike..”

Maud nodded, smiling over at the white unicorn who had her heart beating like a drum. “It’ll be a wonderful experience for her and the both of us. This’ll be our first Pride event together.”

Rarity chuckles, slipping on the silky purple dress for tonight. “I look forward to it, my dearest. Are you ready to go?”

Maud nodded, wearing a black dress with a feathery collar with a long trail behind. “Mhmm. Let’s go.”

The gray earth pony pushed open the boutique door, allowing her girlfriend to exit first. “After you, Rarity.”

Rarity smiles before nuzzling the gray pony’s forehead, watching Maud’s cheeks turn to a gentle shade of pink. “Oh thank you, darling.”

Maud could hardly look away from her girlfriend, the warm and fuzzy feeling took a hold of her heart as she watched her. Rarity could do the most smallest thing and Maud’s heart could twist.

“I love you.” Maud said as she followed Rarity out of the boutique’s open door and closing it behind theme

“I love you too, Maud.”

Whatever this night would bring the pair of them, they would experience it together. Who knew it took an unfortunate break up, a jealous baby dragon and some help from Pinkie Pie would result a love that both Rarity and Maud would share with each other for years to come?
