NightShadow is a Novel about the adventures of a small colt, "NightShadow" as the story progresses NightShadow grows up and gets into the Crime Business, involving illegal gun trades, bank robberies, and plain old thievery.
The Story takes place in the equivalent of 1890-1940s Canterlot, which at the time was notorious for large industry.
The trades of iron, steel and gold makes it a hub for blacksmiths and markets.
But the city also has a dark side; because of the trades robbery of markets and wealthy houses are common.
The crime group, dubbed "Maricates" are the largest crime group in the area at the time.
At an early age NightShadow shows interest in the group, though his parents warn him
that getting into the group isn't a good idea, he doesn't care. The more they try
to get him to lose interest, the more interest he gains in the Maricates ilegal activities.
