Episode Twenty-One: Lions, Part Three

Previous ChapterNext Chapter

Unable to lift herself from the grasp of the lion, Fluttershy lays there, grunting and moaning as he slams his hips into hers. The lionesses keep circling the duo, and they look to be rather irked. Some even exchange glances. Whatever's going on between them, they're all feeling it.

"Perhaps you could... slow down a little?" whimpers Fluttershy, glancing up at the lion. "Or maybe one of your other lionesses would like a turn?"

His teeth clamp down on her shoulder and she lets out a groan, arching her back a bit more so that her hips raise higher. The lion responds by continuing to hump her.

Then he stops, and his balls clench again. Fluttershy yelps as his body compresses around her once more. This time, however, a bit of viscous, white fluid drips from between them as she overflows with the second load.

She tries once again to pick herself up, but is pressed down for the final time. As the lion prepares to start a third round, four roars call out all at once as six lionesses all pounce on him, knocking him off to the side. Fluttershy scrambles away as the lionesses all turn on their male, a flurry of swiping claws and teeth.

As they fight, Applejack returns, pulling Fluttershy out of frame and grabbing the camera and stuff to a further distance. This does result in the image being upside down and slightly tilted, but Fluttershy is still in frame.

"What the hay is goin' on here?!" demands Applejack. "Ah leave ya fer five minutes, an' the whole cave goes inta complete bedlam!"

Fluttershy takes a deep breath. "I tried to stop the fight. Really, I did. But there was this big argument about which females would have mating rights, and when it came out that the male didn't hold to his word... Well, this is what happens to dishonest lions..."

Applejack snorts. "Ah had no idea that honesty was that important to a lioness. Ah s'pose we share that with 'em." There's a pause. "So, what happens, now?"

Fluttershy shakes her head. "I don't want to talk about it. It's very gruesome."

"Yeah, well, Ah think if ye'r gonna make a nature show to inform yer viewers about the lives of critters, y'all need ta come ta grips with the fact that they all end up hurt sometimes, or worse, they can die out here."

Fluttershy lowers her head, takes a deep breath, and nods. "Set the camera back up."

Applejack moves the camera so that it depicts the pile of lionesses as they now have the male pinned down. Fluttershy clears her throat and steps into the edge of the frame. "Are we rolling?"

"Lemme check... Yep."

Fluttershy nods. "Civil unrest can happen in the lion's den, just as it can in our own lives. As we've just found out, the male that had collected all of these females was unfaithful to his pride, and as such, is being removed from his position. I know that it's not my place to involve myself in the affairs of the wildlife around me, that I need to let a lot of these situations play out naturally, but I couldn't stop myself. In trying to calm tempers, I was unfortunately bitten and scratched while trying to preserve some peace."

"They bit ya?!"

Fluttershy nods. She'd pulled her shirt up to cover the bite marks, but now she lowers her shoulder, showing the marks left by the lion's teeth.

"Three separate bite marks. But Ah don't see no scratches..."

Fluttershy turns around and lifts up the back of her shirt to show the claw marks. These actually did puncture the skin, just above the bra strap.

"Oh, Ah've half a mind ta whip these mongrels inta shape for that..."

"Applejack, no," insists Fluttershy, turning around. Her shirt's not down for a few seconds, and one of her tits has slipped free of its cup. "Let's not invite more turmoil than is already here."

She turns back to the lionesses to find that all of the fighting has stopped. The lion is down on the ground, held firmly in place, but still breathing. "This is what happens when a male lion is removed from his place in the pride. He will soon be removed from the group, and another male will then take his place."

Applejack scoffs. "That fast, huh?"

"When male lions reach adolescence, they leave the pride, often joining other males that roam around looking for a pride to claim. If there is no male in that pride, as there won't be here, the lionesses have their pick of what male they want. Unless they want multiple males, in which case, they fight to decide who stays. If the lion in charge of this pride is still here, the new one does have to fight him, but the lionesses are capable of changing the odds as they see fit. It's a way to steer the results in the direction they prefer.

"Now, I'm going to take three of these lion cubs with me." She walks over to where the cubs are and picks one up. "Normally, I don't recommend this, but there's something else that often happens when a male lion is replaced. The replacement is often tasked with removing the prior male from the gene pool. And I mean almost entirely. That is to say, the three youngest, here, won't survive. The older ones are probably going to be okay, and the longer the lionesses wait to find a new mate, the better it will be for them."

Fluttershy picks up two more cubs and holds them in her arms. The lionesses caring for them just let it happen, confirming Fluttershy's assertion that they won't last if they stay. "These three are all going to a local preserve, where the rangers will take good care of them. It's a better fate than what awaits them, here, and will give them the best chance for survival."

"Anything else?" asks Applejack. "Do we have what we need?"

Fluttershy nods. "I don't think there's anything else I need to add. If we stick around, it's going to be too scary to show to kids, and we can't have that."

"A' course not," agrees Applejack. "This is good learnin' fer the kids..."
