The First Six

Equestria was young, chaotic and cruel. The world that we know and love, so full of peace and vibrant colors had not been born yet there was still chaos. Not many remember the early days of the now expansive empire the strife and hardship. Only six are old enough to recall those days before a benevolent loving ruler. Only one thing has stayed constant through out the years, and that is that the Elements of Harmony need the combined efforts of Laughter, Generosity, Loyalty, Kindness, Honesty, and Magic. The stories always depict a picture of Princesses Celestia and Luna using the Elements of Harmony to defeat Discord two alicorns the only of their kind. Are they the last of an ancient and powerful race? Or are alicorns made not born? Even so how could two not six wield the elements of harmony? This is a story from long ago one that only six can properly recall. Who are these six? They are the original six the first Elements of Harmony.

The Three Sisters

The Sisters.

Deep within a forest just outside of modern day Equestria lays a small cabin in the woods, it is simple made of logs and has a small garden out front as well as a fence to keep small animals out. From within the sounds of soft sobbing could be heard coming from three young fillies clutched in each others saddened embrace, next to a bed with a white sheet over a still figure. The eldest of the fillies hushed the other two as she stroked their manes. Though she did have tears dropping from her face her sobs were stifled, she had to be strong for the other two. The smallest shuddered with sorrow, as she looked up at her elder.

“T-Tia what are we going to do?” asked the small dark blue filly. Celestia stared at the floor for a moment thinking of the right response.

“We are going to live, move on with our lives she would have wanted that. She also would have wanted the two of you girls in bed by now.”

She looked down softly at both here adopted sisters then bent her head down and kissed there heads gently. She walked the girls to the other bedroom were they all shared a bed. Though they both still had tears in their eyes the sobbing had stopped. The young girls bodies were too tired to sob anymore. Celestia tucked in her sisters taking her time as she went just like the girls were used to. After she finished she quietly spoke to both of them.

“She was the kindest pony ever to live we were lucky to have had her. She took each of us in, gave us food, shelter, love. She taught us all so much and that’s all any of us could ever ask for and now that she’s gone we owe it to her to keep her kindness alive.” By now all six pairs of eyes had fresh tears. “When she took me in I had been hurt from running away from timber wolves she used her magic to save me and drive them off.”

Celestia looked at the second youngest sister and dark coated earth filly with wide tear filled eyes and bright green mane. “Chrysalis she found you in the flower fields scrounging for food. She took you in and you were so excited when she invited you to stay with us, you began hopping around her in circles. I don’t think I’ve ever seen her laugh so hard.”

Celestia and Chrysalis giggled a little bit at the memory she then turned and looked at the small dark blue pegasus with bright blue eyes and short blue hair.

“When she found you Luna she was so worried because of your wing that she insisted that you stay with us until you were better. Then you were flying around her head begging to stay because you loved it here so much.” Celestia smiled at her two sisters,

“She loved all of us so much and the best thing she gave us all was a family. I love you girls and I wont let anything happen to either of you because you are all the family I have left.”

She kissed both of them on their head and hugged them then she turn and made for the door shutting it lightly as the young ones got comfortable.

Celestia went into the other room and looked at her reflection in the mirror drying her eyes and taking note at how puffy they were. She glanced up at her horn happy that she was a unicorn it would make digging the grave easier. She tied her pink colored mane into a ponytail to get it out of her eyes, she then enveloped the figure in her white colored magic and gently lifted her off the bed then began wrapping the bed sheet tightly around the figure. She caught a glimpse of a dark red mane and she averted her eyes away from it, taking a thread and needle she began sealing the unmoving figure with in the bed sheet. She hated this, wrapping her former mentor for her burial it was almost more then she could bear. But bear she did, not with dry eyes though.

Once her task was done she went outside and used her magic to dig a six-foot deep hole away from the house. She turned enveloping the figure in magic and slowly lowered it into the dark hole, she replaced the dirt leaving a round mound of earth. She had brought two wooden planks nailed together forming a cross, she placed the cross behind the mound and etched in the word “Mother” and as she did she broke down. The walls holding back the flood burst and tears sprang fourth from her eyes. She sat on the cold ground crying when she felt two warm bodies touch either side of her. She found two small fillies pressed against her nuzzling her lovingly crying with her. She then laid on her stomach in front of the mound with her two small sisters and they all cried into the night until they fell asleep.
