Blue Brilliance was an earth pony born in Ponyville, she was a teen and still didn't have her Cutie Mark. But that didn't bother her much. She knew most ponies living in the town, most probably because of her parents. Most ponies didn't know her other than how she looked, since Blue Brilliance has depression and for years she has not talked to many of the ponies she knew. Ponies thought her as distant, but this has lately changed.

"Today is the day, I'm gonna make a real friend, whatever it took, I'm gonna do it!" Blue Brilliance said to herself in her room, soon running out of her house. She wasn't sure where to start. She walked towards the town square, waving at everypone she saw. Most were a lot older than her, she was looking for possibly someone her age. Ponies waved back and either smiled or looked confused. She never did anything like that before, but ponies were happy she was getting out there, and socializing.

Couple of hours go by, and Blue Brilliance is annoyed she hasn't found anyone to befriend. She decides to go to a market place to get something to eat, and then she'd continue her hunt for new friends.
She was walking in the market place to look something tasty, but not just a sugary treat. She was smelling all the baked goods and was wandering around, in her own world.

*THUD*

Someone has run into Blue Brilliance and both fell on the ground.

"Ow.." Blue Brilliance wailed for a second, before the other pony started to talk.

"I'm sorry, I'm kinda in a hurry. Or... Not really a hurry, but... Eh, anyway, I'm really sorry." The other pony said and looked a little shocked.

"How are you in a hurry and... not in a hurry?" Blue Brilliance asked very confused. The mare sighed.

"Well, I'm a potato farmer and want to get my chores done as soon as possible everyday, anyway I have to go." She answered was about to run but Blue Brilliance stopped her.

"I can help you!" She said excitedly.

"Are you also a farmer?" The pony asked.

"Well... No." Blue Brilliance's smile was soon gone.

"Yeah, I usually work alone anyway." The pony told and was again, trying to start running, she was visibly a little annoyed.

"Wait! I can go watch, and maybe later I can be some help?" Blue Brilliance smiled again.

"Well... Fine. Just follow me." The mare said and started to run and Blue Brilliance started to follow her. She wasn't much of a runner and it was not a long time until she became winded. The pony stopped to look at shovels, and Blue Brilliance was happy to stop for a second.

"Hmmm..." The mare was in thought. Blue Brilliance didn't notice that, since she didn't think there were much to shovels.
"So anyway, what is your name?" She asks, but the mare shushed her.

"Hey!" She said but the mare shushed her again.

"Give me a minute, please!" Pony said a little bid agitated. Soon she picked a shovel.

"That's it, my new number one!" She said and Blue Brilliance was happy she came back to this world from the... shovel world.

"So what is your name?" She asked.

"Oh yeah, my name is Poison Ivy." Mare answered. "What is yours?"

"My name is Blue Brilliance!" Blue Brilliance said and her face was sparkling.

Soon they were running towards Poison Ivy's farm. She realized she was getting ahead, since Blue Brilliance was getting winded again. She slowed down and started to chat, to make Blue Brilliance more comfortable.
"Sooo... What you do for work?" She asked
"Well, nothing at the moment." Blue Brilliance answered and smiled a little uncomfortably, but Poison Ivy didn't pick up on it.

"What you do for hobbies then?" She asked again.

"Nothing much, really. I'm bored often haha..." Blue Brilliance started sweating, she thought she was making a bad first impression. But Poison Ivy didn't really care.

"So... What do you do at all then?" She asked third time.

"Uhh... Sometimes I read about magic, like unicorn magic... I kinda wished I was an unicorn sometimes." Blue Brilliance answered honestly, trying to change the conversation.

"Oh, I love being an Earth Pony. I don't have to fly high, or use magic. I just use my hooves and everything is simple. Magic could help me farm, maybe, but I'm happy as myself." Poison Ivy said and smiled.

"Wow." Blue Brilliance didn't think of anything to say, but she was impressed. This was the last word anyone said before getting into the farm.

Poison Ivy started to dig up her potatoes, while Blue Brilliance watched.

"So, potatoes huh?" Blue Brilliance said and laughed a little.

"What is funny about my potatoes?" Poison Ivy asked, being very confused.

"Nothing, nothing." Blue Brilliance answered and continued watching. It wasn't much fun for her, and it took hours and hours. Until the sun started to set.

"All done, did you learn anything!" Poison Ivy yelled. Blue Brilliance jumped a little, spooked. She had dozed off.

"Sorry, I wasn't paying that much attention..." Blue Brilliance felt really bad.

"It's okay, I know it's not everyones thing. I just love it." Poison Ivy answered. They looked at each other and then away, both didn't really know what to do now.

"Well, uhh..." Poison Ivy tried to break the silence. "Do you... want to come here tomorrow? We don't have to do potato-stuff, I kinda did most today." Blue Brilliance's face lit up. She thought she had made herself look dumb.

"Sure!" She said excitedly.

"Yeah, I don't have that many friends. Some think I'm weird, and I'm not really a big chatter." Poison Ivy said, she was surprised anyone would want to hang out with her. Blue Brilliance wasn't ready to tell Poison Ivy about her past, or that she didn't either, but she smiled.

"See you tomorrow!" She yelled and happily trotted towards her home.
