Paper Weight

Previous Chapter

Blue Brilliance was walking into a bookstore, to find herself more books about unicorn magic and about past tales of Princesses defeating evil. She walked inside and a she heard someone.

"Hello!" Somepony said excitedly. Blue Brilliance looked and the pony was waving. They had a booth with cards. She wanted to be nice and walked to the booth.

"Hello. What is this booth about?" Blue Brilliance said.

"I sell poems for Hearts and Hooves day!" They said in a loud voice excitedly. Blue Brilliance started to look at the pony.

"I don't want to be rude or anything but... What are your pronouns?" Blue Brilliance tried asking nicely. The pony looked at her surprised. Tears started coming to their eyes.

"I'm-I'm sorry!" Blue Brilliance said and was starting to panic.

"N-No it's not that. Nopony ever a-asks me that. They just assume I'm a weirdly dressed stallion. I-I'm actually a trans mare." The pony cried and had a huge smile on her. "What is your name?"

"I'm Blue Brilliance. You have a lovely smile, what is your name?" Blue Brilliance answered.

"T-thank you so much!! My name is Paper Weight." Paper Weight answered and cleaned tears of her eyes. Blue Brilliance smiled and took one of the Hearts and Hooves cards Paper Weight had written. Then she looked another. And another.

"These are amazing!! How do you come up with these? These are so romantic!" She was in shock.

"Thank you! I just write what I feel in my heart. I don't have a partner but these are things I'd say to them if I ever had one haha!" Paper Weight answered. "Not many people come to see my writings, and don't like me saying hello to them. They want peace at looking at books I guess..."

"Oh that's sad. You should write a book if you haven't yet!" Blue Brilliance shouted excitedly.

"Well, I've been writing romance story about two mares." Paper Weight said and blushed.

"I'd love reading it!" Blue Brilliance started to hop on her hooves a little bit.

"It's not finished yet, but I'd show it to you if you'd like. I really need some critique! What kinds of books do you read? Paper Weight said.

"Well I read mostly about history, and about unicorn magic. I don't really know what to do, since I'm soon an adult and still don't have my Cutie Mark. I really don't know my destiny." Blue Brilliance looked to the floor.

"Oh you don't have your Cutie Mark. That's interesting, but I'm not judging. I found my passion as a filly, but it took me a long time to realize who I actually am as a pony." Paper Weight told and looked down to the floor too. Both were silent for a moment.

"Can I-... Can I hug you?" Paper Weight asked and looked at Blue Brilliance.

"I'd like that." Blue Brilliance answered and hugged Paper Weight, who hugged back.

"Would you want to be friends?" Blue Brilliance asked a little awkwardly after the hug.

"I'd love that!" Paper Weight clapped.
