The Simple Beginning

Some are malicious and bring balance in ways that end life
while others bring balance in ways that involve the preservation of life.
"Blaze! Help! Please! Help!"
"GAH!"
Blaze sat up, his mind reeling and his heart pounding.
"It...It was just a dream," Blaze muttered to himself, his eyes closing in relief. He then realized he was somewhere different, at least he didn't think he would fall asleep in a field. He looked around, noting how large the field was, and got up. He figured he could get a better view from the sky and stretched out his red, dragon-like wings. He then fired concentrated flames out of his fists to propel himself up at speeds he couldn't achieve by taking off normally. He stopped when he reached a good height and hovered, only to gasp.
"I don't ever remember seeing this place. Where the hell am I?"
The first thing that caught his attention was the large castle that was seemingly fastened to the side of a mountain. He then noticed the large forest, and then...
"A town! Maybe they can point me in the direction of home," Blaze said as he flew towards the town, but then he stopped and hovered again. "But then again, they may hate my guts and shun me...like everyone."
Blaze landed and pondered his options, when it hit him, "Duh! How in the hell did I forget? Call Talon."
His vision in his left eye suddenly showed a phone icon. Then suddenly showed an error, with details on how he was out of signal range. Blaze's eyes widened, Talon's ear module could pick up Blaze's signal from anywhere in the world, why not now. Blaze sighed, his plan b was a bust and he needed to find Talon and figure out why he couldn't contact him. He prepared himself for the hatred and disgust he knew. He headed to the town, his best smile on his face, and his reflexes suppressed.
Blaze had made three trips around the colorful town, knocking on doors and yelling out if anyone was there, before hitting his knees and screaming in anger.
"The one place in miles and everyone skipped town on the same fucking day! Just my luck! Just my fucking luck! Dammit."
Blaze got up again and turned towards the mountainside castle, "If that castle is empty, I swear I'm gonna..."
Just before he got one house away from where he had his outburst, he heard a female voice behind him yell out, "You swear you're gonna what?"
Blaze closed his eyes in frustration and turned, "You know, all I want are directions. I prefer the throwing of rocks to everyone hiding. I'm in a hurry."
That's when Blaze opened his eyes to the sight of a cyan flying pony being held by it's tail by a orange pony wearing a cowboy's hat.
Blaze let out a chuckle, before his vision blurred. Having faced creatures of all types and fighting off super-humans, he never once encountered a talking animal, and in fact would never admit that he would probably faint at the sight of a real one. The notion was so far fetched, so outrageous, his brain wouldn't be able to comprehend it.
The last thing he saw before blacking out was the sight of a lavender unicorn levitating a pillow in front of itself.
Author's Note: Mysteries abound.
Why does Blaze have dragon-like wings?
How is he able to shoot fire out of his hands?
Why is his eye acting like a sci-fi movie cliche?
It will all be explained in the next chapter. I am taking a different approach with this one. Happy reading.
