My first Christmas (NEW SPECIAL)
Getting ready for the party
Sunset Shimmer left the cafeteria with six cups of coffee and a hot chocolate. The big siren was waiting for her outside.
"Need help?" Adagio smiled.
"Yes, thank you" Sunset said. "Let's go with the others"
They walked towards the main square, the spirit of Christmas had spread throughout the city. There were festive lights around the buildings and trees, and without fail, the large Christmas tree was the main star. The air was quite cold, perfect for a hot drink. They arrived at their destination, a more remote area. There were Blues and Lemon making a snowman, coexisting very well; unlike Adagio's sisters. They were having a snowball fight.
"Those idiots" Adagio said annoyed.
"Don't worry, you know that when there's food they leave everything" Sunset smiled. "We back!" call Sunset.
And the pony girl was right, everyone obeyed, Aria and Sonata stopped fighting.
"Let's see, a cappuccino for Blues, an espresso for Lemon, an Americano for Aria, a hot chocolate for Sonata, and a late for Adagio" she handed over each drink.
"Don't forget yours, Sunset, a mochaccino," Adagio smiled. "If you're done, can we go?"
"Yes!! Christmas shopping!" Sonata ran, followed by Lemon.
Adagio walked next to Sunset talking about random things, and Blues and Aria behind, the boy tried to make conversation with the cold girl.
Since the Halloween party, they already knew each other before. It was during the battle of the bands. Lemon and Sonata met when the siren bought some tacos, but her order was stolen by an idiot, Lemon defended her and gave her order, but she was in a hurry so she never told her the name, that happened when she and Sunset were taking care of the baby. And for Aria, she met Blues when she returned from his trip, met Aria leaving a tattoo shop, she noticed that her red pendant fell off, she tried to reach for it, but Aria kicked him away, but Blues showed the necklace and Aria snatched it from him, walked away, without first whispering "I'm sorry, and thank you." Blues was amazed by the tough girl, wishing to see her again.
It's been almost two months since the night at the Asylum and things were pretty good. The dazzlings had adapted to Sunset's small apartment. However, Sunset had noticed the sirens, every night looking at they ablum of photos, remembering her life in that mansion they had. Her home since they came to this world centuries ago. But they never told Sunset, so she didn't feel bad about it. But she already knew, so was going to do something about it.
"Sunset" call Adagio.
"Hmm?" Sunset said.
"Are you excited for the Christmas party?" Adagio asked.
"Well, I'm not as excited as Sonata is, but yes, I am" said Sunset. "I thought you guys would like these holidays" she said.
"Well, Aria and I aren't that big into the Christmas spirit, and Sonata, however, gets more excited about the gift-giving part" Adagio said.
"Speaking of gifts, what would you like for Christmas?" Lemon asked.
"You don't have to give us anything" Adagio said.
"Oh Come on Adagio, I'm sure there's something you want" said Blues.
Adagio thought about it for a moment, then looked at Sunset for a few minutes and smiled.
"Any gift you get me is fine" Adagio said, drinking the rest of hers coffee.
"If you say so, I guess it's fine" Sunset said finishing her drink. "Well, we should go home, we're supposed to decorate the Christmas tree" said Sunset.
As they headed to her house, Sunset was thinking about Adagio's words. Furthermore, she also had to look for gifts for Aria and Sonata.
"I think I know what the perfect gift for them is" Sunset thought.
Once they got home, they started decorating. Adagio and Sonata started with the tree, and Sunset and Aria went to put the lights on the house. Lemon and Blues finished decorating the kitchen.
"Are you guys staying for Christmas?" Sonata asked.
"Nah, we have to have dinner with our family" said Blues.
"But we'll be back on the morning of the 25" Lemon smiled.
They talked about their plans and then had dinner. When the brothers left, the rest went to sleep.
The next day, The four girls had breakfast while talking about their plans.
"And what will gonna do today?" Adagio asked.
"I'll go buy the dinner!" Sonata said happily.
"Alone?" Sunset asked.
"Nope. Aria will go with me" said Sonata.
"And what will you do?" asked Aria, her older sister.
"I have to buy some things" Adagio said taking the coffee .
"Are you coming with us Sunny?" Sonata asked.
"I'd love to, but I have to go somewhere else" Sunset said. "But we'll see each other tonight, right?" asked.
"Sure" Adagio said, smiling.
"Okay, see you tonight" Sunset said getting up. "And don't get into trouble" she said.
"You heard Sonata" Aria said.
"Hey!"
Once they finished, they went different ways.
Like the rest of the city, the mall was decorated with Christmas decorations. The lights and garlands all around, a large Christmas tree in the center of the shopping center and the shops are offering discounts to their customers. Sonata and Aria were at the mall, looking for all the ingredients for Christmas dinner.
After her experience at Mount Massieve, Aria had changed her ways, at least with Sonata. They stopped fighting all the time. Sometimes they argued, but not that much. And Sonata had changed too, now she was braver and more determined in what she did.
"Ready!" Sonata said crossing off her list. "The only thing missing thing, is the dessert" she said.
"Are you sure that's all?" Aria asked, with a pile of bags.
"Yep! Let's see: Stuffed turkey, Mashed potatoes, Spaghetti, Yep! that's all" Sonata said happily.
"That's what we'll have for dinner? And what about Sunset? She doesn't eat meat" Aria said.
"She had already planned it" said Sonata. "For Sunny I will cook: Mushroom lasagna, she can eat that with the mashed potatoes and spaghetti" she said proudly.
"Whatever" Aria said. "You said desserts were missing, right?" asked.
"Oh yes, we will prepare: Apple strudel and fruit salad" said Sonata. "Run! The store is nearby!" said pulling Aria's arm.
"Wait! Slow down!" Aria said.
Elsewhere in the mall, Adagio was looking for gifts for her friends. As she walked, she thought about what she could buy. He had already bought Aria and Sonata's gifts, only Sunset's was missing.
"I wonder what Sunset would like? Maybe, something she can always use? What does she want?" thought Adagio.
She looked around her wondering which store she would have the gift in. An hour passed and she had searched through many stores, but with no luck. Next, she arrived at her destination, her last stop, the jewelry store. When she entered, she was greeted by a kind woman.
"Good afternoon miss, is there anything I can help you with?" asked.
"I'm trying to find a gift for someone special" Adagio smile.
"Ah, I know what you means. Well, we have a wide selection of necklaces, rings, and bracelets for that special someone. Please look around, let me know if you finds anything"
Adagio nodded and looked around her to see if anything was of interest to her. There were many promising necklaces and bracelets for sale, but they don't seem to be perfect for Sunset. Until she saw something that caught her attention and called the owner.
"Excuse me, miss?" Adagio said.
She approached her, "Have you found anything you like?" asked.
"Yes, what is this?" pointed to a box of interest in the display case.
"Ah, good decision. 'The Heart of Fire' is one of our best gems, a perfect gift for that special person in her life. We engraved the names of you and the lover" she said, smiling.
"M-My lover? N-No, it's just for a friend" Adagio said blushing. "Could you show me?" she said trying to change the subject
"Of course" she said.
The woman took the box out of the display case and opened it. Adagio took a look at the jewel. "This could be what I'm looking for" she thought smiling, Adagio look to the woman. "I'll take it" she said.
Sunset had arrive the mall, looking for her roommates, while talking on the phone.
"No, I haven't found them yet" said Sunset. "Is everything ready for tomorrow? Yeah? That's great, I just hope they love it" she smiled. "See you tomorrow, goodbye, and merry Christmas"
She hung up the call, and was about to leave the mall, but then she heard the voice of one of her friends calling her.
"Sunset!"
The pony girl turned towards the fountain, and saw Sonata coming.
"Did you come here too?" Sonata asked happily.
"Too?" Sunset asked confused.
"Dagi and Aria are shopping" said Sonata. "Do you want to eat something? We were going to eat"
"Yeah, a little bit" Sunset said walking up.
"Yay! Let's go!" Sonata said smiling.
Sunset smiled following the blue siren.
Reunited, the four girls left the car and went to their van. But Sunset's phone rang again.
"Wait, I have to answer" Sunset said as she answered the call, walking away a little.
"Who will it be?" Sonata asked.
"Maybe her girlfriend," Aria said smiling, seeing Adagio's hidden anger.
"Huh? Really?" Sonata said impressed.
"Maybe it's Lemon or Blues" Adagio answered, playing with his phone.
"Maybe, or maybe it's a girl from her school, who wants to spend Christmas with her" Aria said smiling.
"Aria, stop," Sonata whispered, seeing Adagio's anger.
"What?" she said innocently.
Before a fight could happen, Sunset returned.
"Sorry, it was about a job application, they'll call me later to see if my resume goes through" said Sunset.
"I hope so Sunset" Adagio said.
"Anyway, can we go now?" Aria asked.
"Why are you so Grinch today?" Sonata asked.
"Who do you call Grich, toothpaste?!" Aria said angrily.
"My hair doesn't look like toothpaste!!" Sonata shouted annoyed, pouting.
Sunset and Adagio pushed the fighting sisters to the back, Adagio took the wheel and they went home.
Once in the apartment, everything was ready, the only thing missing was the food. Later, the four girls were together at the table enjoying the delicious dishes, while talking about different topics.
"I'm satisfied!" Sonata said. "Now can we open the presents?" he asked with puppy dog eyes.
"Well..." Sunset looked at her watch. "It's already midnight, I guess that's okay" she said.
Sonata hugged Sunset until she ran out of air, she went to the tree followed by the others.
"This gift is for you Dagi!" Sonata said, handing him a small gold box, with a purple ribbon next to it.
"Thank you Sonata" she said opening the gift.
It was a beautiful handmade scarf, purple in color, decorated with small gold diamonds.
"I made it myself! Do you like it?" Sonata said.
"It's very pretty, thank you" Adagio said smiling. "Take your gift"
"Wow! A new t-shirt! I love it! Thanks Dagi!" Sonata said hugging her friend. A sexy pink skirt, with the heart symbol next to it.
"You're welcome, Sonata" Adagio said, freeing herself from the hug. "This one is for you Ari~" she said.
"Don't call me that" Aria said, reluctantly accepting the gift. It was a sleeveless jean vest. "Wow, thank you" she said bitterly. "This one is for you" groan handed over a small yellow box.
"New boots~? and of my favorite color~?" Adagio said surprised and mockingly.
"yeah! whatever! Just accept it" Aria said blush.
"And this one is for you Aria!" Sonata said handing over a large purple box. "Open it," she said. They were a pair of new purple leather bracelets.
"Do you like it?" Sonata said, smiling.
"Y-Yes" Aria said a little blushing. In response, Sonata hugged Aria tightly.
"We'd better go to sleep" said Sunset.
"Why? It's too early" Aria responded.
"My gift is still missing, and is for you thre, if you don't mind I want to give it to you tomorrow" Sunset asked.
"Aww! Why?" Sonata complained.
"It's okay Sunset, we'll wait" Adagio said.
"It better be good" Aria said.
"I hope so" Sunset said.
So they do, went to sleep.
The next day, it was already December 25, Sunset raised the sirens very early, it was 5 in the morning. But he managed to get them into the van, they fell asleep again, while Sunset was driving.
A few hours later... 7am, he arrived at the destination.
"Girls, get up, we're here" said Sunset.
The dazzlings complained, but got up.
"Sunset, couldn't you wait a moment?" Adagio asked.
"You didn't even wait for us to change clothes" Aria said.
"I know, but I didn't know how long they were going to wait for us," she said, getting out of the vehicle.
"Who?" Sonata asked.
The door of the van opened, and the sunlight bothered the mermaids, as their eyes became accustomed to the light. And they couldn't believe it. They were on the beach, the one on the outskirts of the city. More importantly, they were in front of her old house. They got out of the van, feeling the sand on their feet, and the sea breeze. Adagio saw his sisters, Aria was wide-eyed, so surprised that she didn't believe it; Sonata was teary-eyed, she was very emotional.
"H-how...?"
"It wasn't easy, but I had some help" Sunset said, looking at the house. Lemon and Blues came out of it. "I know you don't want to hurt me because of my small apartment, and I'm not offended. This is more than a house for you guys, it was your first achievement since you were banished. Not even with all the money Waylon gave me I was going to be able to buy it"
"And that's where we come in" Lemon said, smiling.
"Our grandfather helped us with the paperwork for the land. Every Christmas he gives us a large sum of money for our future" Blues continued.
"But, we used it to help Sunset to buy the house. Legally, it's Sunset's house, but she added you guys as the new owners" Lemon said.
Sunset showed the document. "You just need a signature" she smiled.
The dazzlings could not contain themselves any longer, and they rushed to hug each one of them. Sonata began to cry on Lemon's shoulder, Aria put her fists on Blues' chest, containing her emotion, which was typical of her. And Adagio hugged Sunset, when she recovered she smiled gratefully.
"Thank you Sunset Shimmer, this is... the most... anyone ever do... thank you" Adagio smiled.
"You're welcome Adagio, you three have become special to me, this is my way of thanking you" Sunset smiled.
"Let's continue the party!" Lemon shouted. "Let's get the house ready for Christmas" pull Sonata inside.
Aria left Blues and followed them, Blues smiled at her attitude and went after her.
Adagio took Sunset's hand. And I take her inside the great mansion.
