Author's Note
Inspiration comes from the stories of the late Dark Link 22, a now deleted story called That's It? and the Unintentionally Unsympathetic entry for Starlight on TV Tropes. I don't hate Starlight in all of her appearances but I will never be able to like her. So many problems with her that it's too many to list. I respect her fans but for any reading then please keep an open mind if you decide to read this.
Chapter 1
Princess Twilight Sparkle couldn't believe her eyes and what was being told of Starlight Glimmer's past as she witnessed it with her mare. "So..... Sunburst moved away.... Did you have no one else...." Twilight asked hesitatingly hoping that she could salvage this in her mind; that this story was actually more tragic than it was.
"No one apart from my dad... Sunburst was my friend and I was left with no one... Sunburst was stolen form me by his Cutie Mark!" Starlight replied and that pretty much clinched the conclusion that Twilight had in her mind. "So now do you see Princess.... How much I had lost thanks to those awful Cutie Marks.... Why I do what I do and why I had to bring forth my town so that I could share the evils of Cutie Mark where everyone could be happy and equal..." Starlight asked with a smirk but Twilight had an odd calm face on her face.
"Oh I understand alright.... I understand that you truly are nothing more than a spiteful sanctimonious selfish self-righteous control freak....." Twilight then said glaring full force at Starlight and it caused her opponent to react with a visibly offended and furious face. "Your friend found his calling and moved away... That's it? That's your justification? For lying to all of those ponies who you fed your propaganda, talked a big game about everyone being equal while you didn't both practicing what you preached since you not only kept your Cutie Mark but you were clearly the leader so I guess some ponies were more equal than others? I bet you just loved lording over your power over them so that you could brainwash them and steal the Cutie Marks of those who wouldn't follow...." Twilight told her shaking her head as Starlight was speechless.
"Plus your excuse... Your friend found his calling and was sent to hone his skills... Did you even attempt to keep in contact and maybe if you were an orphan with no one else I could get how that would affect you but no.... I have seen foals mocked for not getting their Cutie Marks yet and maybe if you were a late boomer and the bullying had an effect on you but from where I stand... I just see a petty mare who I now have to beat for all of Equestria..." Twilight then said charging up her spell as Starlight then laughed mockingly.
Starlight then protected herself with a magical barrier as she gloatingly said "how exactly do you expect to do that as you could never beat me before... Face it Princess; you can't stop me as I will never stop until....."
Starlight was cut off as Twilight's blast broke through her barrier and shot her with such force that she was sent back. Starlight was grunting with extreme pain as she got up and witnessed Twilight telekinetically picking up the scroll. "Did you really think that if I was actually fighting for real that you actually had any chance of beating me? I have been trying to talk you down this entire time and I have been holding back throughout this all; I am the Princess of Friendship with Magic itself as my special talent... You're just a unicorn who may have made a fancy spell and have a way with words but apart from that and an over inflated ego..." Twilight said as Starlight angrily went for the scroll as Twilight then used the magic.
They were now back in the empty void dead future; Starlight went for the map but a strong spell from Twilight sent her hard into a boulder. Starlight grunted in pain as she then noticed her own horn on the ground; broken off from the impact to the boulder. "What are you doing..." Starlight demanded as Twilight went towards her with her horn glowing.
"Let's see how you like having your Cutie Mark removed yourself..." Twilight said shaking her head as Starlight felt her life left her as her Cutie Mark was forced away from her. She could only weakly groan as she tried to get up on her knees.
"I will leave you here Starlight and remember.... All this is your doing....." Twilight said as she then used the scroll to go back, find Spike and make sure that the Sonic Rainboom goes off as it was supposed to. Starlight was too weak to even make a token effort to stop her.
Twilight was soft spoken when she explained to her friends what had happened and comforted her due to her knowing that she was trying to reach someone who couldn't be taked down. Though Rainbow Dash had to admit that Starlight had her fate coming to her though the others were unsure but maybe it would teach her a lesson.
Twilight had tracked down Starlight's father and Sunburst to tell them the story; that they deserved to know. They were shaken especially with Starlight's father but they were there for them. Twilight got to know Sunburst and befriended him; he was there to be able to help fix the Crystal Heart when Twilight's newborn niece Flurry Heart accidentally destroyed it with her unpredictable alicorn baby magic. The experience had also made Twilight more alert and it helped stop an attempted infiltration of Ponyville by the Changelings in its tracks.
"What do you think Starlight is up to in the timeline if she even still exists... You think that she has realised the error of her ways?" Sunburst ended up asking Twilight as they were studying in her castle and as much as Twilight wished that it was the case; it probably wasn't...
Starlight didn't know how long it had been since she was sent to this dead planet Equestria; only she kept going on stubbornly thinking that there had to be life somewhere. She would restart from there and then search for magic that will allow her to find the Princess again so that she would enact her vengeance.
However her journey would find her nothing as it would be hundreds of years before life started back up again on this dead world. Starlight herself would end up in Tartarus once her weakened form in this dead world with no resources for her to use would catch up to her. She would be there to find the erased souls of the timelines that her actions created there to give their judgement upon her...
