Chapter 16 - Genesis: RESPECT

The time: One month after the completion of the tunnel between Equestria and Transforma.

Prince Shiftshape flies into the Canterlot courtyard as Nightmare Moon is flying around, trying to see if she can be as fast as when she battled Queen Chrysalis.

P.Shiftshape: Hello, Nightmare Moon!

N.Moon: *POINK!*  *looks down*  *laugh*  Heya, Prince!  *lands by him*  What brings you here?

P.Shiftshape: I wanna invite the Wonderbolts to perform at a special ceremony at my castle.

N.Moon: *smile*  You guys are so nice once Queen Chrysalis was overthrown.

P.Shiftshape: We were ALWAYS nice, Mother just wanted to rule with an iron hoof.  Changelings are more mischevious than malicious.

N.Moon: You play pranks instead of break up celebrations, eh?

P.Shiftshape: *nod*  We can actually survive on what YOU eat, Mother just had it in our heads that love was a sort of super-fuel.

N.Moon: Well, your mother's not gonna be a problem anymore.

P.Shiftshape: *nod*  And we couldn't be more grateful.

The two nuzzle up, then.....

P.Celestia: AW!

N.Moon and P.Shiftshape: CELESTIA!

Princess Celestia laughs as Nightmare Moon and Prince Shiftshape chase her around a bit.

*INTRO SEQUENCE*

The sky above Shiftopolis resonates with cheering as changelings and ponies await the appearance of Equestria's top flying team, the Wonderbolts.  The patrons pack a stadium similar to Canterlot's stadium.  Rainbow Dash and Pitstop put on their uniforms in the dressing room as Soarin and Spitfire walk in.

Soarin: Heya, girls.

R.Dash: Heya, Soarin, Spitfire.

Pitstop: What's up, luv?

Spitfire: This is going to be a bit wild, seeing as Transforma has their own version of the Wonderbolts.

R.Dash: MORE Wonderbolts?!

Soarin: *chuckle* Such enthusiasm..... They're called the ChangeWings.  They'll be performing by themselves and alongside us.

Pitstop: Should we meet them, luv?

The veteran Wonderbolts step aside and three changelings their size trot in, soon accompanied by a fourth the size of Big Macintosh.

R.Dash: Wow!

Spitfire: This is JetStream, he's said to be the fastest flier in Transforma.

JetStream - Big-Macintosh-sized Changeling M: Pleasure to meet you.

R.Dash: Likewise, sir.

JetStream: You must be Rainbow Dash.  I have heard about you.

R.Dash: Oh?

JetStream: Yes, how you're the Element of Loyalty, about your bravery and about your speed and confidence in flight.  If your skill is half as good as the tales of your abilities, this should be a great show.

Spitfire: *chuckle* This WILL be a great show, I've seen first-hoof how amazing Rainbow is as a flier.

JetStream: *nod* I'm looking forward to it.

As JetStream leaves, Pitstop and Rainbow Dash and the other three ChangeWings exchange bows.  Then, the ChangeWings follow their leader out of the room, heading to their dressing room to change.  Meanwhile, their friends sit down in a box next to the royal box.

P.Shiftshape: This oughta be exciting!

Corinne: In-n-ndeed, Your Highness.  Shiftopolis is am-m-mazing!

P.Morphina: That's why our city has a reputation for never being the same place twice.

Applejack: Nice slogan.

Princess Morphina and Applejack laugh.  Then, the sound of a loud whoosh caused everyone in the stadium to look up as the Wonderbolts performed the first set of stunts.  The changelings were amazed at the display of loops, flips and spirals performed by Princess Celestia's elite air-stunt team.

P.Shiftshape: Wow.....

The changeling prince gasps as he spots Rainbow Dash flying around with her heroes.  Rainbow Dash seemed to wink right at Prince Shiftshape as she climbs way up in the sky with Pitstop.  The two pegasi wink at each other, then do opposing loops before going into a spiral together, hurtling down towards the ground!

P.Morphina: What the.....?

P.Celestia: Oh, my.....

The two pegasi flew down, building up speed.  A wall began forming in front of them, eventually bending around them as they flew faster, faster, faster.....  BOOM!!!  Gasps and cheers break out as Rainbow Dash and Pitstop perform a Double Sonic Rainboom, their Sonic Rainbooms making an X-shape in mid-air!  Even the Wonderbolts were impressed and JetStream was rendered speechless!  The two pegasi fly out of their corkscrew dive and upwards, crossing over the stadium with their respective "rainbow" trails behind them.  The two exchange a high-hoof over the stadium, a spark and a small blast echoing from the connection.  The royals and Nightmare Moon were speechless as Rainbow Dash and Pitstop landed.

JetStream: OK, where.....  I mean, HOW..... That was incredible!

P.Celestia: When I saw you two at the Wonderbolts tryout, I wondered what would've happened if you performed together, but THAT superseded ALL my expectations!

R.Dash: We were working on that stunt just for this occasion.

P.Shiftshape: Time well spent, you two are absolutely amazing together.

Pitstop: Thanks, Your Highness.

The two mares bow at the royals, the royals bowing back as the crowd cheers their display.  A short while later, the ChangeWings take to the air.  JetStream and his crew amaze the ponies with a thrilling aerobatics display, his team's finale being an attempt at a Sonic Rainboom.  He does manage to pull one off, but it wasn't as spectacular as Rainbow Dash's.  Nevertheless, it still impressed everypony in attendance, the royals applauding the ChangeWings' effort.

JetStream: *blush* Well, what can I do?  Rainbow Dash and Pitstop had the entire stadium going bananas.

The royals chuckle a bit.

R.Dash: I can give you a few pointers on that if ya'd like, JetStream.

JetStream: *smile* Sounds good, Rainbow.

Corinne: Still, i-i-it was a great t-t-try.  A-A-Actually, this place is a nice k-k-kingdom.

P.Shiftshape: We're working on cleaning up our mother's damages.

Corinne: So f-f-far, you're doing am am-m-mazing job.

P.Morphina: Aw, thanks.

Nightmare Moon smiles at the giraffe as Rainbow Dash works a bit with JetStream.

R.Dash: Now, watch carefully.

Rainbow Dash takes off, JetStream following.  The ChangeWing watches how the Wonderbolt flies, taking notes and trying a few of her tricks.  Before long, the two were flying just under fast enough to make a Sonic Rainboom.

R.Dash: Got it?

JetStream: *nod* Indeed, thanks a lot, Rainbow Dash.

R.Dash: Aw, you're welcome, JetStream.

The two hug up and return to the stadium.  JetStream rejoins the ChangeWings as Rainbow Dash lands next to the Wonderbolts.

Spitfire: *smile* You are truly incredible, Rainbow.

R.Dash: Aw, thanks.

The two pegasi hug up and take to the air over the crowd with the ChangeWings.

JetStream: Ponies and changelings, we've been honored and priviledged to entertain you all today.  Our friends, the Wonderbolts, have also been amazing so far today.  We have a special surprise for you all today.  Coming out of retirement for one day only, please welcome, from the Wonderbolts, Meteor Strike and from the ChangeWings, Illusion!

The crowd goes nuts as the two legends take to the air.  Illusion rises next to JetStream, the Nightmare-Moon-sized changeling bowing at the Wonderbolts.  Likewise, Meteor Strike bowed at the ChangeWings.

Corinne: W-W-WOW!  Now we'll see something R-R-REALLY special!

T.Sparkle: That we will, Corinne.

The two teams did not disappoint, flying with grace and speed all around, amazing all in attendance.  Illusion and Meteor Strike were especially outstanding, showing why they're legendary figures in their respective teams.  But the grand finale was especially amazing: JetStream and Rainbow Dash giving a team Sonic Rainboom a go.

R.Dash: Ya remember everything?

JetStream: *nod* Indeed.

The two smile at each other, then they fly up and pull opposing loops before diving in a team corkscrew.  Pitstop smirks as she see where this is going, then she smiles at one of the ChangeWings, flying up with him.  Soon after, five pairs fly up and start their own Tandem Rainbooms.  As the walls bend over the five tandems, they seem to be flying right at each other.  They flew in a star-shape pattern towards each other..... BOOM!  The crowd goes nuts as they see a massive Sonic Rainboom fly out from the center of the star.  Ponies and changelings flew around in wide arcs, trails of light following them.

P.Shiftshape: WOW!

Corinne: Unbelievable!

The aerialists land and bow to the heavily-admiring crowd.  The two legends step forward and take a bow.  Corinne seems to be most impressed.

Corinne: Th-th-that was incre-e-edible, Meteor S-S-Strike.  Pitstop w-w-was talking a l-l-lot about you during the Ga-a-ala, and now I see wh-wh-why!

M.Strike: *smile* Thanks, Corinne.

Corinne: And y-y-you, Illusion!  I s-s-see where you got your n-n-name!  I c-c-can't believe how l-l-like us you all are.  Thanks s-s-so much for allowing me here.

Illusion: Aw, shucks.  We're all just lucky to know someone as respectful *Nightmare Moon perks up* as you are.

Before even Nightmare Moon could say anything, a bright flash shone out from Canterlot and crystals flew on the breeze towards Corinne!

P.Shiftshape: Is-this?

P.Celestia: Oh, my.....

Corinne murrs as she receives a necklace with the larger crystal from her cutie mark as the charm.  Illusion chuckles as he sees the giraffe bowing at Princess Celestia.

P.Celestia: Nice gesture, but this is all you.  Your incredible respect for others of stature has been recognized by the Elements of Harmony.  You, Corinne, represent the spirit of Respect.

Corinne: Aw. *nuzzles Princess Celestia* I'm h-h-honored, Princess.

Princess Celestia chuckles as Corinne nuzzles her, the crowd cheering the completion of the new Elements of Harmony.  Back in Canterlot, watching this, Discord sighed.

Discord: And so the circle is complete.....  I hope they are strong enough to deal with the threat to come.....

Discord had reason to worry, for out in the Everfree Forest, trees, animals and even bugs seemed to mysteriously get sickened by a mysterious toxin.  The sickeneing spread like wildfire until a large section of the forest was affected.  And in the middle of the contaminated area was a shadow of an earth pony with glowing red eyes.....
