The glow faded from her horn, as the spell took effect.
Then Cadence leaned close to Rainbow. "Now, for the good of you, for the good of Fluttershy, and for the good of Equestria, tell me the truth."
If Rainbow had hit the lake, she would have been flattened. If she'd hit the rocks, she'd be torn to pieces. Instead, she hit the tree. There was pain, too much pain to possibly remain conscious through, as her wings snagged on the branches, ripping tendons and snapping bones, but slowing her down enough that her impact would not be lethal.
