Feathery Wish

Piece of my mind before story:

Writing without knowing what's wrong is bad and I have no idea where my errors are. Also It's boring when there is nothing to gain.

Eight years before present in land far away from Equestria

Two adult ponies were lying in bed. It's cold night. Outside even colder.

"I wish we could have a child."

"Me too, my love, and you know we tried. A lot."

"What name you would give to that little one?"

"I don't know. I havent thought about it. But now, I think Wish is nice name."

"Yeah, Wish is definitely cute name."

"I want Wish. Good night, love."

"G'night, honey."

Nine months later.

"It's filly. Very nice and healthy pegasus filly. Do you have a name?" Doctor said when child stopped crying.

"She is Wish. Can I take her?" Mother asked.

"Of coarse. There." Doctor give a new-born child to her mother.

"She is cute. I wish Snowbite could see you." Mother weakly said looking at her child. She had azure coat, simple dark blue mane and gold-colored eyes.

Six years before present.

"Look mom! I've go my cutie mark!" Wish ran into small house.

"Really? It's a big day for you then." Her mother weakly said.

"Mom! You look even worse then you looked yesterday." Wish said sounded sad.

"I'm fine, sweethearth. I'm only tired. So, what is your talent?" She asked.

"When I pluck my feather and broke it while I wish something, it happened!" Little filly with little yellow comet on her flank happily bounced around her mothers bed.

"That is great talent, but I want you to keep it as a secret. There are ponies, who would want to use you. Use your talent against your will." Her mother said.

"But I want to help others with my talent." Wish said.

"Of coarse, you want. It's great intension, but some ponies would want to use you." Her mother said.

"But I don't want." Wish said, stomped and ran away.

Present

"I wish I wouldn't said that." Young pegasus mare said. She was hiding inside of cloud. Under her was crowd of ponies, who wanted her. Especially her feathers. Her wings ached from plucking. She wanted to see her mother, to say her that she was right. She was now hunted because everypony knew about the power of her feathers. She found that her feathers have limits. They were not able to made her immortal, revive dead ponies or change past. Still the were able to give horn or wings for a few days, conjure food, cure for some illnesess or little gifts.

Pain was something she was used to, but still she cried. This was one of her worst days. She was able to remember only one day worse then this. Day when her mother died. She plucked every last feather from her wings, but it still hadn't worked.

"Just show yourself, Wish! You know that you are delaying unavoidable!" Somepony yelled from the ground.

I don't want. She thought. Her mouth reached one of her feathers. Quick sharp pain surged through her as she plucked it. I want to see place, where I can live without anypony behind me, trying to pluck every last feather from me. She thought as she clench her teeths. World around her blackened and then she saw it. Beautiful land ruled by two sisters, where ponies are smiling, wind is warm and food is cheap. Where green grass is everywhere.

"There you are, Wish. I'll make my wish!" Black pegasus colt yelled and plucked one feather from her. She snapped out of her vision as pain surged through her again. She unfold her wings and started to flap quickly. She soared through the skies followed by a small group of pegasus mad about their wish.

I have to do it again. I'm sorry my wings. She thought and auickly reached another of her feathers. Her wish was to be invisible.

"Oh no. She have done it again!" Someone from group of pegasus yelled. She didn't care about them. They only wanted to use her as her mother predicted. She have to find that country. She have to leave. She don't want to live here any time longer.

If I just leave, they will go and find me. I must do something about it. She thought as she walked through her small house.

They don't stop hunting me until I will be dead. She stopped. Dead. That's it. She smiled and started to pack her things.

After an hour she was prepared. It was not long after dusk when she heard knocking on the doors.

"Come out! You haven't given us one wish per day!" Somepony yelled from outside. Wish was waiting behind doors. Two more feathers and poisoned copy of her body and poison was lying on the floor. She was still invisible.

I hope that they will not notice that I took that picture of my family. She thought, but it was late to fix that. Doors swung open as few ponies bucked at them. She quickly used few seconds of shock caused by seeing dead body and she slipped out of her house. Saddlebags, which were invisible too, slowed her a bit, but not enough to anypony to notice anything odd.

I'm free. She thought and giggled a little when she was out of sight of that village. She flew with steady pace not so fast. She'd never travelled. Now she knew where to go with price of another feather. She got used to plucking her feathers, but only few per day. She even knew which ones were easy and nearly painless to pluck because she felt that they were going to left her anyway. On the other side was that crowd. They plucked mercilessly her feathers, often choosing one of her best, which were also more painful to pluck.

Her invisibility wish were also worn out and she was freerly dashing through the skies and clouds. She flew over mountines and valleys full of snow. She didn't know how long she flew. Her wings ached from flapping. It was so different kind of pain, that she nearly enjoyed this new experience. She looked for some cloud to rest for few hours. There was few of them several hundred meters down.

For a few days she saw nothing else then ice, rocks or snow. She nearly started to ask if that feather was right. One beautiful dawn she saw a few patches of green flora not far away from her cloud. It erased all her doubts. With smile she flew through valley down. Green color was becoming more common down on the ground, wind was also a bit warmer. Something very shiny or at least purely white was stick to the mount at her right side. When she flew closer, she recognized palace. It was still far away and she was too exhaused to fly so she landed on cloud and under warm sun, she quickly fell asleep.

Ten hours later.

Wish felt something wet on her snout. It voke her. She looked up and she froze in sheer astonishment. Above her was Large city built from clouds. She hadn't noticed, because it looked like large cloud from behind, but now her cloud carried her under this city. She was so close from rainbow waterfalls that she dip her snout in that stream of rainbow. She licked rainbow colored liquid from her snout and seven different tastes made her shiver. She wiped the rest of liquid from her snout and watched ponies in this cloud town. It wasn't that town from her vision. In her vision was little village. She especially remembered large red barn, house made from tree, pink house with bakery and few another. After all it was village started by earth ponies. There was no stone building typical for unicorns.

As large city in clouds become more distant she turned her attention on large shining palace. It was most magnificent place she have ever seen. Tall white towers with golden roofs, large balconies and colorful windows amaze her. As she flew closer, she noticed more and more details.

"Hello, my little pony." Calming and happy voice greeted her. She looked around for source and she found the most beautiful creature she had ever saw. White coat and wings, long horn. Mane and tail in colors of dawn and sun as cutie mark.

"Who...who are you?" Wish asked.

"You must be from very distant lands if you don't know me. I am Princess Celestia. Ruler of this land. I came to greet you, because we have the same way and I'm often bored when I travel alone." Celestia answered.

"It's honor to meet you. I'm Wish. I flew for a five days to find some place, where I can live in peace." Wish said.

"What a cute name. I think I know where are you from and I can say that you are safe here no matter why you came here. Your cutie mark is a bit tricky. May I ask what your talent is?" Celestia asked.

"I prefer to not to tell anypony. It caused many problems in my past." Wish said quietly.

"I see. But you are not going to cause problems in my country, do you?" Priness asked.

"No. Not at all. It caused problems to me if they knew my talent." Wish answered and her voice started to sound sadly.

"Well then. I can see that. Do you have any problem with your wings?" Celestia asked.

"Oh. You mean my missing feathers? They fell off. If you don't mind, highness, I would like to ask if there is any earth pony village with tree house, large red barn, apple trees and pink bakery." Wish asked. Celestia's facial expression was a bit dumbfounded. She surely knew someting about that village.

"It's called Ponyville. Do you want any help with starting over? I have friends here which can surely help you. At least allow me to give you ticket to the train so you can rest after your long journey. It's my pleasure to welcome you in Equestria." Celestia said. Wish was looking at her suspiciously. "I want nothing from you. Friendship is enough." Celestia added.

"Thanks, Princess. You know this is how all my problems started back then. So forgive me that I don't trust anypony." Wish said.

One hour later

Princess told truth. She gave Wish ticket to train so Wish can make the rest of her travel by train.

Someday, maybe, I will trust her. She was nice to me. Wish thought while she was looking through window. She didn't know what train is, but she started to like this traveling by train. It was confortable. Only think she have to do is looking for right stop.

She recognized the right stop from far. Large barn and then she saw some other buildings she recognized. When train stopped, she get out of train. First think she saw made her jaw drop in surprise. She was staring at large banner with "Welcome to Ponyville, Wish" on it and six ponies smiling and standing uder that banner.
