Chapter 2 Deimos

Discord opened a portal allowing Fluttershy to join sitting next to Twilight. Twilight asked Discord “What were those giant creatures?”

Discord frowned, “Hell Barons. Some of the strongest Demons.”

Luna raised an eyebrow “Surely you had more reason to pick such a dangerous world than just amusement.”

Discord grimaced “Well, these beings have invaded parallel universes before including having wiped out several versions of myself in the process. I thought that making sure that no version of these beings threatened this world.”

Cadence raised an eyebrow “This seems awfully premeditated of you.”

Discord grimaced “Well for chaos to perpetuate it must be in balance. Life is very chaotic and having all die would be bad for me in the long run. Besides, the universe will be ruled by demons to be the same unchanged hellscape as their home is. Anyway, time to show you more.

Sunset

Sunset awoke. She frowned at the green armoured guy, he was strange “What’s your name?”

The green armoured guy shrugged nonchalantly “Call me Soldier. What’s your name?”

Sunset responded with annoyance as she staggered to her feet “My name is Sunset”

Soldier nodded “Sunset, follow my lead if you can move.” Soldier ran down an alley then darted into a room to his right Sunset following behind him. Soldier frowned, “Don’t touch the cross, it will hurt you.”

Sunset nodded before focusing on the enemy in front of her. She felt her blood boiling, as punched through the corrupted human’s skull. The sound of gunfire filled her ears as she tore a second enemy clean in half. She cared little for the being in front of her, their pain and suffering meant little to her as she ripped them apart.

Sunset then turned away from the remains of the enemy “Why am I following your lead, we could split up and cover more ground?”

Soldier frowned “There is more to combat than power. You have a lot of it but your strategic awareness is lacking. I will guide you through this.”

Sunset sighed “Fine, we’ll do it the slow way and boring way.”

Soldier frowned, “Killing is not meant to be fun.”

Sunset grimaced “I’m not saying it is but it doesn’t mean I can't enjoy the thrill of the fight.”

Sunset turned to the enemies in front of her, they were her enemies and she would destroy them. She could feel their flesh give way to her strength, she stared at their bloody corpses with indifference. Soldier shook his head as he grabbed a blue keycard.

Equestrians

Celestia frowned “Sunset enjoyed fighting before, the thrill of the fight.”

Luina grinned “We would like to join this battle”

Discord groaned “This has already happened, you can’t join this adventure.” Luna pouted at him.

Twilight looked to her mentor “What do you mean, Sunset liked fighting?”

Celestia frowned “Sunset was not afraid to wander the seedier parts of Canterlot. While not skilled in traditional combat, she was apt at brawling. She could keep track of large crowds, she often came back from bar brawls.”

Fluttershy raised an eyebrow “Why didn’t you bar her from doing so?”

Celestia sighed “It would have been difficult for me while running the nation and anyone I sent to observe simply lost her until the fighting had already started. I was worse at her age in all honesty, Starswirl spent years trying to get me to fall in line and even then my ego was still a problem.” She then cast a painful glance at her sister “It cost me my sister for one thousand years and it cost my sister far more.”

Discord clicked his talons “Well let’s get back to it.”

Sunset

Sunset and Soldier make their way back stepping on a red floor tile that teleports them to a different location. Sunset sighed “Great! Teleporters, as if this place isn’t enough of a maze.”

Soldier frowned, “We’ll just have to do our best to find our way around.” Sunset walked forward barely even noticing the sound of her human bodies hitting the floor, Soldier grabbing a shotgun they had left behind.

Sunset stared at the enemies in front of her, the larger one in the middle being only of minor interest. Sunset’s eyes focused forward on it as she walked forward. She heard the sound of their heads exploding as she approached the enemy in front of her. She felt it’s soft gooey flesh part as it fell to the ground dead.

Sunset and Soldier crossed a pool of blood. They braced as the floor dropped, they then went through another portal nearby into a room full of a dozen Imps and two Pinky Demons. Sunset turned to the creatures in front of her, she gazed at them only to find her hands covered in blood, their bodies laying at her hooves in chunks.

Sunset and Soldier headed through another portal. Sunset focused on the path ahead, as she felt the flesh of something around rip and tear. Soldier frowned at her, “You should pay more attention to your enemies.”

Sunset shrugged “They aren’t worth my time or attention.” They entered a narrow hallway finding a giant floating crimson head with a single giant green eye known as a Cacodemon. Sunset felt a fire course through her fingers as she formed a fireball that hurtled towards the Cacodemon, she heard the explosion as bits of it’s flesh scattered around the hallway.

Sunset and Soldier left through a portal finding themselves near a maze. Sunset cleared the maze out in record time and returned. They make their way into a large room, Sunset simply walking through leaving blood splatters behind her.

Sunset and Soldier pass an inaccessible door, they dash past five crushers. Sunset and Soldier see a group of imps and demons. Sunset charged forward, the smell of brimstone filled her muzzle as she exploded the demon in front of her. Sunset’s heart pounded steadily as she crushed the demons around with ease.

Soldier meanwhile returned, having collected a red key card. Sunset and Soldier used that keycard to leave this area.

Equestrians

Discord frowned “I think we should take a break.”

Celestia frowned “Yes, still I’m worried about how Sunset seems to not care about killing these creatures.”

Twilight frowned. “Well, she has been told all of them are enemies and out to kill so I guess there is no reason to care for them.”

Cadence shook her head “I think we should have some lunch before we continue.” Everyone in the room nodded, ready to take a break.

Author's Note

I hope this chapter is better received than the last one. Writing these fighting scenes is tricky.
