Break in the Portal
chapter 1; I arrived.
Load Full StoryNext ChapterIt was the story of Equestria Girls as we've ever seen it. Sunset Shimmer, after stealing Twiligth Sparkle's crown, was running through the halls of the crystal palace. The beat of its hooves echoed through the rooms, Twiligth was chasing, which only gave more adrenaline to the young unicorn with a vibrant red mane. Before the princess of friendship could act in any way, Sunset entered the portal and came out, a strange aura covered the air of the dusty room where the mirror was, it was a type of heavy air or negative energy.
"No... I... I didn't want..." – Twiligth sits in front of the mirror, sniffing out any trace of the crown thief. – "I lost... the heavens, the elements, they-"
"Twiligth Sparkle." – A calm but worried voice surrounded the room, it was Princess Celestia.
"I'm very sorry!" – Twilight bent down in a form of submission – "I didn't mean to, it was so quick and..."
Celestia took a deep breath before answering her former student. "Twiligth, not only is Equestria in danger, Sunset is as well."
"As?" – At that time the main six and Spike appeared in the room wondering what happened.
"A while ago, when Sunset was my apprentice, I introduced the portal to her with all my confidence." – Celestia sighed again. – "No one expected her to be so stubborn in leaving and entering the portal so many times, I had warned her that this could change reality and cause a temporal hole that would take her to a kind of ghost world, as if everything in that world was broken. .. you know."
"Woahh! A zombie universe!? Ahhh!!!" – Pinkie flailed until Rainbow Dash held her in the wind while she did somersaults outside the laws of physics.
"Not exactly." – Luna explained better – "Have you ever heard of purgatory?"
"Ah yes!" – Said AJ – "My grandmother has been telling me stories about this place for a long time. Don't tell me that..."
"Yes. That reverse world is a purgatory of the universe that Luna and I know. The human universe."
"Their souls don't go up or down from there..." – AJ said again, thinking.
"I felt the negative energy here, wherever she went, she's not well..." – Twiligth said, still trembling.
"Oh, we better act and quickly!" – Rarity said. - "But how?"
"Luna and I are going to try a spell to take them to safety and rescue Twiligth's crown. As for the elements of harmony, we have an extra temporary amulet in case the other one gets lost... I said I would use it in emergency cases, in fact. "
"Calm down, Sunset! The protectors of Equestria and the powerful, wonderful, incredible, incredibly beautiful, Rainbow Dash, are coming to save you!" – Said the rainbow pony, causing silence in the room. – "Wherever you are...?"
Sunset's Pov
Sunset's only vision was a series of events from her life as she fell through the portal's rip. She found it strange, as it used to be quick to enter the human world. Until he finally fell onto the solid ground, next to the statue. Soon she again saw what her body looked like. The feeling of being a human had already been forgotten by the pony who was now a human teenager. His skin was a light shade of brown, and she could see features and freckles on his elbows. The girl was also naked, nothing covered her. This was only worse because the climate there was cold, similar to what was created in the past due to the lack of harmony.
She heard a familiar voice, this was Principal Celestia, at least the voice. When Sunset turned, she saw that woman with long hair, with its shades of green, blue, and pink, swaying in the wind. His skin was dark and his eyes shone like the sun. It could be seen that this woman, whose Celestia was from the human world, was holding a towel and helping Sunset cover herself. "Hello girl!" – She said, still covering Sunset – "Where did you come from, little one?"
"I, ah..." – Sunset extended her hand, a little confused as she was no longer used to the movement of humans.
"Come on, go into the school. I'll dress you and give you something to drink." – Celestia checked Sunset's pulse – "It's a pleasure to have you here"
Sunset stood up leaning on the statue, with her shaky legs she adjusted herself again. She was confused, she didn't know why she had been received so well... The last time she came, as far as she remembered, no one cared that much. Except for the fact that he appeared from the portal with just one piece of clothing in the middle of the street (that attracted a lot of attention). Then, she stood up, took a step forward, and a second step. Everything was going according to his wishes and commands to his body. It was so good to return to this portal; remembers the time when she was just a curious filly crossing the mirror for pure fun.
But now there was something wrong, there was a heaviness in the air and a ringing in the ear. Maybe the streets were too quiet at the time, right?
"You have something very special, tell me your name." – Celestia said, turning to Sunset after getting dressed.
"I'm not in the confidence for that." – Said the girl, scratching her head in confusion. Who watched the air and tried to smell something that wasn't there.
"It's okay, why don't you introduce yourself to your classmates?" – Celestia asked – "If you like our school, I want you to sign. Right. Here." – She said, pointing to a paper, I couldn't read much, but everything was fine for a moment.
Awkwardly, Sunset walked into the living room so she could pretend to be normal. What she saw was a bit confusing, she didn't remember that humans could be so... pale?
"Hey you!" – A girl with curly pink hair arrived, with dark but pale skin. She looked like the happiest person in her life, but she was missing an arm and had stitch scars on her shoulder and face.
"My name is Pinkie Pie! You're new here, aren't you?" – Said the girl, jumping towards him while asking many questions. Sunset didn't even know how to react.
"Heh... so..." – Sunset sweated – "Yes I am!"
"What is your name?" – Human Pinkie asked, still happy.
"I'm too nervous to comment on this right now, I guess."
"You do not have to be afraid!" – Pinkie patted Sunset on the head.
"My name is Sunset Shimmer." - She thought; It was just Twilight's stupid friend, nothing could go wrong.
"Cool name! Im Pinkie Pie!"
"...Yeah, you already told me that." – Sunset frowned and tried to move the pencil on the sheet. It was only later that she noticed that in addition to the students appearing to have no blood, they were cold. There were bruises and scars, no one really knew what happened in that world. That's when Sunset realized: "this is not that world." At that point she froze and tried to maintain her calm and sanity. She already knew what she had done and it was already too late. A temporal tear into the dead land, that was it. Maybe the inhabitants of this universe weren't hostile, but it was better to be careful and have some kind of access to magic and right the wrong. The problem was that humans don't know how to use magic! All that was left now was to survive in that place, gather as much information as possible and find a way to return to Equestria. Thinking about it, it would be a humiliation to go back after everything you did, right?? Thinking you can settle all the accounts like that all of a sudden. On the other side of the room, the 6 girls were talking to each other. They looked so happy... it wasn't a dead smile or anything apparent, they really seemed to bring happiness to the somewhat gray place; as if they were already used to it. At recess, Sunset took the opportunity to go to the table where they were, and wanted to ask some questions. Obviously, without leaving any traces or suspicions, Sunset didn't know what would happen to her if she knew she would be an intruder.
"Hmm... this food is delicious." – Said the girl, distracting and acting like them.
"Actually, I don't think it's that cool" – Rainbow Dash said, stirring the plate – "All this because AppleJack's old grandma cooked it! Haha!"
"If you think you're going to annoy me in front of the new student today, you think it's wrong." – She continued eating.
I could recognize it by the voices. Arhg, those ponies that always fight. Until their human version was amazing! Rainbow Dash had dark skin and dyed rainbow hair, the roots of her hair were black, you could tell. She didn't appear to have any scars or bruises. Unlike the human AppleJack, who had bite scars and scratches everywhere. Her skin was kind of pink and she had vitiligo with freckles, her hair was a soft yellow, like hay.
Another thing Sunset noticed was the girls' clothes. She was never a fan of fashion, but she knew well that the clothes they wore had completely fallen out of fashion. Seriously, there was a mix in the entire room. Clothes from the 90s, 70s, and even the 10s. Sunset had learned about human fashion when she first traveled to the normal human world, and not this place.
Putting the pieces together, Sunset only needed one more clue to complete her conclusion. "Girls, how old are you?" – Sunset asked.
"Hmm..." – Pinkie Pie thought – "You know? I don't remember, I've been here for a long time."
"I died at 18." – A calm voice spoke, it was a girl called Fluttershy, she was redheaded and had pink skin, her face was full of freckles and there were some purple areas on her shoulders and legs, and on part of her neck. In addition to scars that resemble belt marks.
"You what?" – Sunset looked with a shiver
"I died at 18. I'm still 18 since then. I prefer to think like that... " – She smiled, it didn't faze her. It seems as if time had healed or as if LITERALLY DYING was the happiest thing in the world. She caressed a skeletal little bunny and gave him some more food from her plate.
Sunset saw all her new classmates go home, she had nowhere to spend the night. First of all, a hairless cat came to him, skinny like all the animals there. He was getting closer. Sunset thought it was kind of disgusting that he was so strange. The cat then handed over a paper with some things written on it. Sunset wasn't late and read it quickly;
"Hello! I see you're new to this world! Don't worry, I'm the guiding spirit of every soul here. Don't you have anywhere to spend the night? Sleep at the school, there's a warm room there, for a warm and cool person like you! Follow the following rules..."
Sunset continued reading.
"Rule number 1. Sleep without a blanket; the last time we saw a student use a blanket he was sneezing frantically, he's been like that for hundreds of years."
"Rule number 2. An alarm will automatically wake you up at seven o'clock in the morning. Any kind of delay will not be tolerated, since you are now inside the school."
"Rule number 3. expose your fresh blood, wear clothes that allow air to circulate around you."
"Rule number 4. Don't mind the buzzing and distorted sound in your ear. After all, your meat is still very soft and fragrant."
"Rule number 5. Only use your cell phone after 7 o'clock, cover the mirrors. Reflective glass is a type of portal for spirits on their way to hell."
"Rule number 6. Don't turn on lights while walking. Use an unscented purple candle, Director Celestia loves a peaceful night."
Sunset Shimmer had just read all of this. Without a doubt, she was determined to follow the rules. Before leaving, she looked around to see if the cat was still there. He disappeared, maybe he ran away. Then Sunset climbed those stairs again using an unscented purple candle she found at the school entrance. Every step was counted, at least the distorted ringing disappeared from his ears. Now what was left in the room were the sounds of footsteps and heavy breathing from the girl herself. Upon entering the room, she noticed that the mirrors and even the window were covered. Throwing the cell phone in the drawer, the girl lay down and, almost slipping, used the blanket. But he soon threw it away.
Sunset slept for a while, until she heard someone knocking on the door. Well, she pretended to continue sleeping, after all she was very tired. The door still insisted, and that tireless desire to open that door left the girl feeling a little behind. And it was the same thing all the time. Sunset got tired and finally asked, in a weak voice, it barely came out.
"Who is he?"
"13734"
All I knew was behind the door was trying to do something just saying numbers.
"Damn, how boring!" – Sunset murmured as she settled herself on the bed in the fetal position.
"Are you well?" – The voice asked.
"Who are you?"
"..." – the creature started crying and you could hear it murmuring.
Sunset fell asleep after a long time. The alarm went off and the redhead got up and ran to class. As a way of wanting answers, Sunset went to Celestia.
