Night Light and Twilight Velvet have been married nearly 25 years and they are coming up on their 25th wedding anniversary. However, Twilight Velvet has also been involved in a 'situationship' for the last 15 years with her editor, Harvey Horsestein.

If you wanted to publish a book in Canterlot, you had to pay the Harvey Tax. Velvet was honest about it when it started and honest about why it had to happen, and Night Light accepted it... at first.

In the beginning, Velvet did all she could to balance the scales and keep it fair, making promise after promise to make sure it was worth it for her family in the end, however the situationship continued to grow increasingly unfair towards her husband. Whether this was something Velvet had simply ignored or failed to realize how terrible things had gotten for Night Light until it was too late, no pony could say, but it did hurt long term friendships and their public reputation.

And now, at the crossroads of a life-altering change, and the biggest decision that Night Light has ever had to make since he got married, his lovely daughter, Princess Twilight Sparkle has to complicate the issue further by admitting that she's always had a crush on her dad, and as an adult, would like to explore it more. Coming to terms with his daughter's feelings for him makes the long-term betrayal of his wife feel worse.

But now, Night Light has had enough. With his daughter's dubious help, Night Light will force Velvet to choose: Keep their marriage or keep her career.

Either way... Princess Twilight will win.
