Chapter 1-The Secret of Friendship Pillar

Load Full StoryNext Chapter

Deep in the Fallout Forest, just outside Canterlot City...

Pinkie Pie, a vibrant reporter for Crown Feed, tiptoed through the dense woods with her trusty Spook Grabber in hand—a gadget designed to detect and capture ghosts. She spoke into her vlog camera with her usual bubbly enthusiasm. "Okie dokie, folks! I'm being as quiet as I can as I approach the Friendship Pillar with my Spook Grabber, which detects and captures ghosts, preventing them from escaping," she whispered. "That's right, Crownfeeders, I, Pinkie Pie, am going to prove that ghosts are real."

Suddenly, her Spook Grabber began to beep wildly. Pinkie gasped, eyes wide with excitement. "Sweet cupcakes! A ghost!" she exclaimed, grinning ear to ear. "Time to nab that sucker!"

Pinkie carefully followed the beeping until it became almost deafening. With a triumphant yell, she fired the net from her device. "And... NOW!"

A startled cry echoed through the forest, but when Pinkie rushed over to see her capture, she found a young girl tangled in the net, not a ghost.

"Sorry! I thought you were someone else," Pinkie said sheepishly as she helped untangle the girl.

The girl stood up, brushing herself off. "What are you doing here?"

"I'm doing a report for Crown Feed. You?" Pinkie asked, her curiosity piqued.

"I was heading to the Friendship Pillar, but my aunt wanted to split up, and now I'm lost," the girl replied.

"Friendship Pillar? I was heading there too! I brought a map," Pinkie said, pulling out a well-worn parchment. "It's that way!"

"Thanks. I'm Starlight, by the way. My family just moved to Canterlot City, and my aunt, Sapphire Twirl, is an archaeologist. She's here to unearth some history."

"Pinkie Pie. And this place is loaded with history! Your aunt might even find some rare jewels."

Moments later, both girls arrived at the Friendship Pillar...

"Here we are! See for yourself," Pinkie said, gesturing dramatically.

Starlight's eyes widened in awe as she took in the sight of six ancient stone totems arranged in a circle, surrounded by various scientific equipment. "No way... Where'd they come from?"

"Nobody knows, not even me!" Pinkie shrugged, her smile never fading.

"Amazing, aren't they?" a voice called out, and a woman with a kind yet determined look approached. "These totems could be millions of years old."

"Who could possibly have been around to make them?" Starlight asked, still in awe.

"Sapphire Twirl," the woman introduced herself, shaking Pinkie's hand.

"Pinkie Pie. I'm doing a story for Crown Feed."

"Nice to meet you both," Sapphire Twirl said warmly. "Our first day here, and already you've made a friend, Starlight. I like her."

"So, what exactly are you working on here?" Pinkie asked, her curiosity getting the better of her.

"We're trying to solve the mystery of the Friendship Pillar with the help of my scanning system," Dr. Twirl explained. "The scanner is placed on top of a drone. With its sensors, it can detect anything, even buried structures."

"So cool! Maybe there’s some treasure underneath?" Pinkie suggested, eyes twinkling.

"That's what I'm hoping for. Here we go." Dr. Twirl started up the drone.

The drone buzzed into the air, and as it hovered over each of the seven totems, a series of lights—red, blue, pink, black, green, and gold—flashed in sequence.

"Did you see that?" Pinkie asked, her voice hushed.

"Yeah..." Starlight replied, equally mesmerized.

"How intriguing," Dr. Twirl mused.

Suddenly, a deep rumbling shook the ground beneath them, causing the group to gasp.

"Was that an earthquake?" Starlight asked, her voice trembling slightly.

"Not sure. We don't get many earthquakes around here," Pinkie said, her eyes darting around nervously.

"But it felt like one," Starlight insisted as the drone landed back in its case.

"Very unusual..." Dr. Twirl muttered, her brow furrowing.

"What do you mean?" Pinkie asked.

"Look at this." Dr. Twirl pointed at her computer screen, which displayed a hidden chamber beneath the totems.

"Underground? Right here? No way!" Pinkie exclaimed, her excitement bubbling over.

Just then, a stern voice cut through the air.

"What's going on here, folks?" a ranger asked as he approached the group.

"Oh great, it's Warden Strickler," Pinkie whispered to Starlight.

"Good afternoon. I'm Dr. Sapphire Twirl from the Association of Archaeology," Dr. Twirl said, stepping forward.

"Warden Strickler. And you don't have permission to be out here," the warden replied curtly.

"But I was doing a story—" Pinkie began, only to be cut off.

"Save it, Miss Pie, with your ghost theories. All of you are trespassing. So, pack it up," Warden Strickler ordered. "Oh, and I'll need you to come back to the park HQ and file a report."

"I'm happy to comply," Dr. Twirl said calmly.

"It's this way," the warden pointed, clearly not interested in further discussion.

"Load everything into the car and meet me in town," Dr. Twirl instructed Starlight. "We've got all the data we need for now. And don't mention this to your dad."

"Sure," Starlight agreed as Dr. Twirl left with the warden. Both she and Pinkie began packing up the gear.

"So, you've ticked off the warden before, huh?" Starlight asked as they worked.

"Tried 24 times. And some of those were totally harmless ghost traps. He's not a fan of supernatural stuff," Pinkie said with a shrug.

"I can tell," Starlight said dryly.

Suddenly, a clap of thunder echoed through the forest, and a figure in scarlet armor appeared out of thin air.

The two girls quickly hid behind a totem as the figure, wielding what looked like a hand-held metal detector, scanned the area.

"Energy source detected," the device beeped.

"Under those old statues? Interesting," the armored knight murmured. He aimed his sword at the ground, sending a shockwave through the soil.

"Energy source locked on."

"Excellent." The knight descended into the hole he had created. Without hesitation, Pinkie followed him.

"Where are you going?" Starlight whispered, panicked.

"I'm going to check it out. You're not scared, are you?" Pinkie whispered back with a grin.

"Of course not. I've been in plenty of tombs, chambers, all sorts," Starlight replied, though she didn’t sound too sure.

Both girls carefully climbed down into the hole, dirt falling around them until they reached a hidden chamber.

"Wow," Starlight whispered, her voice full of wonder.

"Look at this place. My aunt will flip her lid!" Starlight said, eyes wide.

"And my story is going to knock everyone's socks off!" Pinkie added, equally amazed.

Just then, a door opened, causing the girls to gasp and quickly hide.

"Where's that energy source?" the knight muttered, searching the chamber. "It must be mine."

As he walked past another door, it slid open, revealing a small dragon with wings.

"What's this?" the knight asked, narrowing his eyes at the creature.

"Oh, crap!" the dragon exclaimed, realizing he had been discovered. "Come on, Twilight, I need you!"

Without hesitation, the knight shot an electric blast from his sword at the dragon.

"Tell me, old lizard, where is the energy source?" the knight demanded, his voice cold.

"First off, I'm a dragon, and second, I'm not that old!" the dragon retorted.

Unknown to the knight, Pinkie and Starlight crept closer.

"Don't play games with me. I am Scarlet Knight. And you're no match for my power."

"I'm not, but she is!" the dragon shot back, rushing to a panel and pressing a button. A pod opened, revealing a figure in red armor—a Power Ranger.

"A Power Ranger? Nice try," the Scarlet Knight scoffed.

"Oh no," the dragon gulped.

"Now tell me... Where's the energy source?" Scarlet Knight demanded, his patience wearing thin.

"You have to be more specific," the dragon said, stalling for time.

Starlight noticed a set of five swords mounted on the wall and grabbed one.

"Leave the dragon alone!" she shouted, blocking Scarlet Knight's sword with her own.

"What?!" the Scarlet Knight exclaimed, caught off guard.

"Yeah, no one likes a bully!" Pinkie added, firing her Spook Grabber. The net ensnared the Scarlet Knight, sending a surge of electricity through it.

"You'll pay for this!" the Scarlet Knight cried out, collapsing to the ground.

"That won't hold him for long," the dragon said, pulling a key from his pocket. "Put this key in the saber, and the Horsemen will fight for you."

As he tossed the key to Starlight, Scarlet Knight broke free and caught it midair.

"Wrong—they're going to fight for me!" Scarlet Knight snarled, inserting the key into his saber. "A new toy. I'm going to enjoy this."

He activated the key, and the Horsemen, ancient warriors made of stone, emerged from the shadows.

"This isn't good," Starlight gulped.

"Horsemen, show me what you've got!" Scarlet Knight commanded.

"So, any ideas?" Starlight asked as the Horsemen surrounded them.

"Well, I have three years of karate," Pinkie offered.

"So do I, and eight years of swordplay," Starlight replied.

"Great, want to take the lead on this?"

"Uh...." Starlight hesitated.

"Deal with them!" Scarlet Knight ordered, and the Horsemen charged.

The girls fought back, using their skills to fend off the Horsemen.

"Back off, creeps!" Pinkie shouted, knocking over a shelf that sent two Horsemen crashing to the ground.

Meanwhile, Scarlet Knight continued his search, growing more frustrated. "Where is it?" he muttered.

"Sorry, Twilight, this thing might be too damaged to wake you up," the dragon muttered, fiddling with the panel.

"Think fast!" Starlight shouted, tossing a sword to Pinkie, who used it to fend off more Horsemen.

"Thanks!" Pinkie grinned, slashing through another group of Horsemen. They stood back-to-back, surrounded on all sides.

"We're going to need a miracle to get out of this," Starlight said, just as both their sabers began to glow—Starlight's blue and Pinkie's pink. "Uh, you're seeing this, right?"

"Yeah, it's pretty," Pinkie replied, her voice filled with awe.

Power surged through their bodies, and morphers appeared on their wrists.

"Uh, okay," Starlight said, still processing what was happening.

"They have morphers!" the dragon cheered, running out of the room. "I haven't seen that in... well, ages!"

He reached into his pocket and pulled out two saber keys that matched the girls' colors. "Here, take these!"

"Thanks!" the girls caught the keys and looked at each other before inserting them into their sabers.

"What's happening?" Starlight asked, her voice trembling with excitement and fear.

Suddenly, a surge of energy zapped them, transforming them into Power Rangers.

"Yes!" the dragon cheered.

"What the...?" Scarlet Knight couldn't believe his eyes.

"All right... We're Power Rangers! Now you're in big trouble!" Pinkie declared, her voice filled with confidence.

"Tear them apart!" Scarlet Knight ordered, his voice filled with rage.

The girls fought with newfound strength and skill, easily taking down the Horsemen. Starlight bent one Horseman's weapon against the wall, while Pinkie slashed through a set of them, laughing as she did.

"Cool powers, awesome costumes, and amazing weapons! What else do we get?" Pinkie asked, clearly enjoying herself.

"We also get Zords," the dragon called out.

Starlight did a backflip, kicking down a Horseman before slashing through four more.

Meanwhile, Scarlet Knight continued his search until his detector beeped wildly.

"Energy source detected."

"This has to be it," Scarlet Knight said, opening a hidden compartment to reveal a container filled with strange, glowing objects. "Negacore? Of course—that's the energy I need. You two, take the chest!"

Two Horsemen grunted and grabbed the chest from the wall.

"No! Don't touch that!" the dragon shouted, but they ignored him. "Why won't you work?" he muttered, punching the panel in frustration.

Suddenly, the panel lit up. "Oh, thank Celestia."

Twilight, the red Power Ranger, grabbed her saber and jumped out of her pod.

"Huh?" Twilight said, seeing the Horsemen coming at her. She quickly slashed them down. "Uh, Spike? What's going on here? Why are the Horsemen activated? And who are they?" she asked, gesturing to Pinkie and Starlight.

"It's a long story, which I'll happily explain, but the Negacores are being taken!" Spike exclaimed.

"Right," Twilight said, rushing over to stop Scarlet Knight and the Horsemen from escaping with the container of Negacore. "Where did you steal that armor from?"

"Doesn't matter. It's mine now, just like the Negacore."

"I don't want to sound stupid, but whatever Negacores are, they're bad, right?" Starlight asked, her voice laced with concern.

"Very bad," Twilight confirmed.

"Bad for you. Good for me!" Scarlet Knight sneered.

Twilight and the newest Rangers fought against him and the Horsemen, destroying them one by one.

"Too slow," Scarlet Knight taunted, dodging a high kick from Twilight.

"I've got a lot of tricks. Like this—Magi Saber, Dagger Mode!" Twilight pressed a button, shrinking her sword into a smaller, dagger-like weapon. She threw it at Scarlet Knight, who flung it back midair, forcing Twilight to dodge as the dagger plunged into the container holding the Negacores.

"No!" Twilight screamed.

Every single Negacore squelched out of the container, feeling free.

"No, they're free!" Spike exclaimed, his voice filled with dread.

"Oh, this can't be happening!" Twilight muttered, eyes wide with panic.

"This isn't over," Scarlet Knight growled as he fled the chamber, causing a cave-in to prevent the Rangers from following him.

Once outside, Scarlet Knight saw the Negacores unleashed into the world.

"No!" he screamed until one dropped right next to him and began to bubble. "Well, hello there. And you're already hatching."

The Negacore exploded, and in its place stood a monstrous creature resembling a horse.

"Yee-haw!" the creature hollered, its voice thick with a southern accent.

"You're going to help me get those Negacores back," Scarlet Knight ordered.

"Yes, boss," the monster replied, and both of them teleported away.

Back in the chamber, Twilight groaned, brushing off the dust from the cave-in.

"Well, that was wild," Starlight exclaimed as they powered down from their Ranger forms.

"I'll say! But I still can't believe that we're Power Rangers!" Pinkie cheered, her face lighting up with excitement. "This checks off 'becoming a superhero' from my bucket list!"

Their morphers transformed into sleek commlinks on their wrists.

"Cool," Starlight whispered, examining hers.

"I'm Twilight, and this is my good friend, Spike," Twilight introduced, smiling warmly at the two new Rangers.

"Nice to meet you," Starlight said, nodding.

"I'm Starlight Glimmer."

"And I'm Pinkie Pie," Pinkie added with a grin.

"Pleasure to meet both of you," Twilight said, her smile growing. "Spike, how long was I in the pod?"

"A very long time... Like over 300 years," Spike replied.

"300 years?" Twilight echoed in disbelief.

"You look great for 300 years old," Pinkie said cheerfully. "So, what's the deal with the Negacores, anyway?"

"It begins 300 years ago on the distant planet, Magia," Twilight began, her voice filled with the weight of history. "The Negacores were unleashed, hatching into vicious beasts. I led a group called the Knights of Harmony into battle, fighting to defend our home. But we weren't strong enough. The Negacores ravaged my planet, leaving few survivors. They left Magia, hungry for their next target—Earth. But we followed them, determined to eradicate the Negacores. Each battle made them stronger until they grew giant, forcing us to retreat. It seemed Earth, too, would be lost. But just as we began to lose hope, the Harmony Masters arrived—beings with godlike power here to help. They joined us with mythical beasts—an alicorn, a mermaid, a sprite, a wolf, a minotaur, and a griffin—to become the Power Rangers Friendship Fury. With that, they gave us a mission: to defend Earth against the Negacore beasts. They also provided us with Zords for when the beasts grew giant."

"So, with the Zords' help, you beat the Negacore Beasts?" Starlight asked.

"Yes, but at a cost. We captured them and locked them in the chest, but my friends—the other Knights—they were lost," Twilight said, her voice tinged with sorrow.

"Twilight and I tried everything to destroy them, but nothing worked. All we could do was keep them hidden and guarded," Spike added.

"So, you've been here ever since?" Starlight asked, her eyes wide with understanding.

"Yes, making sure that the Negacores never see the light of day... until today," Twilight confirmed.

"It's not your fault, Twilight. Blame this mess on that Scarlet Knight," Spike interjected. "Why would he want them?"

"Your guess is as good as mine," Twilight said, her voice firm with resolve. "But bottom line is, we need to find them and get them back. They'll hide and hibernate until, one by one, they hatch into Negacore Beasts. There are dozens of them, and all they know is destruction. They must be stopped," Twilight said, her voice filled with determination. "Your planet is in grave danger, and we're the only ones who can save it. But you'll need some training. Are you ready?"

"Are you kidding? I'm in!" Pinkie declared, her eyes shining with excitement.

"Just tell us what to do," Starlight agreed, her voice steady with resolve.

With their newfound powers and a sense of destiny, the three Rangers prepared to face the challenges ahead, knowing that the fate of Earth rested in their hands.
