It was a peaceful night in the town of Ponyville and Nightmare Night is coming again, The decorations have been set up and Pinkie has invited everypony in town to a special Nightmare Night party, but for now the whole town was asleep after another long day of preparing, except for the faint noises coming from a tree house in the middle of Sweet Apple Acres.
"So what do y'all want to do now?" the yellow filly asked
They were having a sleepover and they had done everything they could think of, like playing truth or dare, having a nice conversation, and etc,but it was just barely 1:00, and they weren't tired yet.
"I don't know, we already played some games, talked for awhile, and stuffed ourselves with food after Scootaloo made the dare." Sweetie said
"Don't remind me." Apple Bloom said
"It was still pretty easy to laugh at how much you fit in there." Scootaloo said
"I nearly chocked myself to death." Apple Bloom said
"We still helped you get them out."
"Either way, you wouldn't have chocked if you hadn't put so many apples in your mouth."
"The dare was to see how many apples we could fit in our mouths
"Girls, now is not the time to be fighting, we need to think of something to do." Sweetie interpreted
"I have an idea." Scootaloo said
"What is it." the other two fillies said
"We should tell ghost stories."
"Are you sure y'all want to do that." Apple Bloom said
"Why?" Scootaloo said
"You're to much of a chicken to even listen to ours." Apple Bloom chuckled
"Am not!"
"Am to."
"Am not!"
"Am to."
There was a faint rustling coming from outside the tree house. They thought it might be Applejack again, but she said she would go to bed around 8:00 and she hadn't come back after that.
Suddenly a letter got chucked through the window and Sweetie proceeded to pick it up
Hello it said
Shivers ran down Sweetie's spine when she read the note. It wasn't particularly frightening to find a letter that was chucked in from the window in the middle of the night, and why was somepony throwing letters at them.
"What does it say?" Scootaloo asked.
"It just says hello." Sweetie said.
"Creepy." the other two fillies said.
"I think it wants us to answer." Sweetie said
"I don't think that-"
Apple Bloom was cut off when Sweetie screamed hello. Just as that happened another letter came soaring in. Sweetie gave a sly grin to Apple Bloom and opened the letter the soared in.
What are three fillies doing up this late at night?
"We're having a sleepover." Scootaloo answered
As fast as she said it another letter came flying in.
Oh, that sounds nice, do you mind if I join you on this wonderful night?
"That is going a bit to far." Apple Bloom said
"No." Sweetie said out the window
The letter flew in faster than the expected and it landed farther than the others as if the pony they were talking to threw it with more force.
But why, we're all friends aren't we.
"Still no." Scootaloo said
Another flew in
Let me in
"NO." Apple Bloom screamed out the window "Now what do you want?!"
The letter flew in
I want to see what your insides look like. another note said after they opened it up
"W-what." the three fillies said in union.
Let me in
"No." Sweetie said shaking. "Where are you?"
I'm outside of the door
After that last letter came in, there was a pounding at the door. The CMC by now were frozen in place. The pounding at the door was getting louder and louder until it abruptly stopped
"Do you think it's gone." Scootaloo asked in a low whisper
"I think so." Apple Bloom said
All of a sudden a knife was plunged into the door. The knife was continuously plunged into the door until a hole large enough to fit a hoof in was made. It was then the CMC saw the face of the monster trying to get in. It looked like a white mask the had a long cylindrical mouth and eyes and the rest of it's body seemed to be covered in a black cloak. It stuck it hoof in and reached for the doorknob. With that the CMC all jumped out of the window. The got up as fast as they could and the cloaked figure started going down the stairs. The three fillies started galloping towards the house where the rest of the Apple Family was sleeping, then they could get help from Applejack and Big Mac. The cloaked figure was slowly catching up to, the knife in it's hoof. The cloaked figure was now catching up to Apple Bloom. All of a sudden, the knife was thrown at the yellow filly. It flew right into Apple Bloom's flank. She cried out in pain, blood was no pouring from where the knife hit her, and every move she made, there was more pain, but she kept running in a full gallop.
They were nearly at the house when Apple Bloom was starting to slow down. The cloaked figure was still keeping up with them, but it slowed down when Apple Bloom stopped and fell to the ground. The cloaked figure pulled the knife out of Apple Bloom's flank, picked her up, and slit her throat. Apple Bloom tried to scream, but all the blood in her mouth made it a muted gurgle. The cloaked figure set her down to the ground. Apple Blooms slowly looked up at the figure with her eyes half open. The figure was staring back at her, Apple Bloom gave another gurgle and the figure placed its hoof to her mouth, which was now pouring with blood.
"Shh." the cloaked figure said in an all to familiar voice. "It'll be fine."
Apple Bloom gave one final gurgle as life finally escaped her body. She didn't have to suffer anymore. The cloaked figure closed her eyes and started following the other two fillies. By now they had made it to the house and were now pounding on the door. Sweetie could see the cloaked figure in the distance coming up fast.
"It's coming closer, pound harder Scootaloo!"
"I'm pounding as hard as I can."
The figure was now a couple feet away from them and now they were backed up into the door. With the knife raised, the figure got closer as it was about to murder them.

The Next Morning
The door to the house opened up and out came a tired looking Applejack.
"Big Mac, I'm going to town to get some stuff. Y'all need anything?"
"Nope." He said from the main room of the house
Applejack turned he head and started to walk to town when she ran into something.
"W-what the ha-" she didn't finish when she noticed that Apple Blooms head was stuck on a wooden stick.
She was silent. All Applejack did was fall to the ground and started to cry.
Big Mac proceeded outside to see what was going on, and he soon started to do what Applejack was doing. All they could do was cry on the ground.

Rarity was in her bed, her sleep mask on she lay there without a care in the world. Then a revolting stench filled he nose and she got up out of bed.
"What is that revolting sme-" She was cut of to find he sister's headless body in the center of the room
She started screaming as loud as she could as tears filled her eyes. She picked up Sweetie's lifeless body and hugged the body as hard as she could. She fell to the ground as she held her sister's body in her arms.

Scootaloo however wasn't dead, she lay in a white padded room in a fetal position, while stroking her tail
Three stallions watched her from behind a window.
"What's her status?" The first stallion asked
"She's mentally unstable." The second stallion said
"Poor kid, I wonder what happened to her." The third stallion said
Scootaloo could hear everything they were saying. After the third stallion finished talking images flashed before her eyes of what happened that night.
She and Sweetie were up against the door, and the cloaked figure. It grabbed Sweetie and put one off it's hooves on one Scootaloo's wings to hold her into place. It held Sweetie against the door it started to saw away at her neck. Blood was pouring out of her neck and it sprayed right on Scootaloo's face, and it didn't take long before it saw completely through her head. It fell to the ground and Scootaloo watched in horror. It then looked straight at Scootaloo, it's stare piercing her soul. Somehow Scootaloo manged to bite down on the leg that was holding her wing, before it grabbed her. She was now again in a full gallop and the cloaked figure had lost her while it was recovering. She then made her way to town and three stallions picked her up and put her in a padded room.

Later that day
The sky was dark and gloomy, it was raining hard on Applejack an Rarity, they were at the Ponyville cemetery mourning the lose of their sisters. They didn't say anything to each other, all they did was stand there and cry.

2 days later
Ponyville was in horror. The town hadn't had a murderer in years. Now a new killer pops up around Nightmare Night, when all the little fillies and colts will be out going door to door for candy. The police was already investigating the crime scene, and there was no progress. It seemed like the killer left no trace. The rest of the officers were going door to door to interrogate ponies that happened to be up at that hour.
The door of Twilight's library home was knocked upon. She stopped sorting books to answer the door. Outside of the door was a grey stallion with a black mane. He was dressed in a blue outfit with a badge on the front. Twilight knew it was a police officer before she even opened the door. They had been talking to everypony for the past two days.
"Hello." the stallion said "May I come in for a moment?"
"Come in." Twilight said
The two took seats at a nearby table.
"What were you doing on the night of the murder."
"I was here sorting books as you can see here."
The stallion looked around and noticed book pile scattered across the floor.
"How long were you up sorting books." the stallion asked.
"I was up until about 1:00, and then I went to bed."
"Interesting." the stallion said "Thank you for your time Miss Sparkle."
The stallion exited the library home and moved to the next house. Twilight thought back to what she said about being up at 1:00 and when the stallions face changed from showing no emotion to a look of serious curiosity, like he thought she was the killer. It was now 3:00 and she was supposed to meet her friends at Sugarcube Corner. Twilight was making her way to Sugercube Corner when she saw all the officers on patrol. There must have been thirteen or fourteen at a house talking to frightened ponies. Some of them were scaring ponies more than the fact that there was a murder at all. She was passing the Ponyville Mental Asylum. It was a cruel place where mentally unstable ponies go to get "fixed up" as they put it. She thought of Scootaloo. No kid should have to go through tortures like that, and have to go there and be put through cruel practices, but that was the only option they had now. Twilight had finally made it to Sugercube Corner. She entered the building and saw all of her friends at a table. They all looked completely miserable, even Pinkie Pie, has seen better days. Applejack and Rarity were the worst out of them all. They both looked like they were about to have a breakdown.
"Hi Girls." Twilight said taking a seat
"Howdy." Applejack said
"Hello darling."
"Hi Twilight." the other three said.
"A officer came by the library." Twilight said "I pretty he thought I was a suspect."
"Same here." The other five said
"Really."
"Eeyup, they were accusing me of killing my own sister."
"Same here." Rarity said
"They also thought I did it." Pinkie said "I was busy filling out orders here, then I went to bed."
"I was up feeding my animals." Fluttershy said
"Well I couldn't sleep." Rainbow Dash said
"Is that what you told them?!" Twilight asked
"Yes."
"Rainbow, that's not really a valid reason of being up at 1:00." Twilight said "If they find out your lying, you'll be sent to jail."
"First off I'm not lying, second I'd rather be sent to jail for lying to an officer of the law than being a murderer." Rainbow said
Derpy all of a sudden walked in to the shop with a letter in her muzzle.
"Hi Derpy." Twilight said
"Letter for you Twilight."
"Thanks for the letter." Twilight said as Derpy walked out of the shop.
Twilight opened the letter and found it was from the Ponyvillie Police Department, telling her to get her friends to come by the station.
"What does it say?" Pinkie asked
"It say we need to go to the police department." Twilight said
"This can't be good." Rainbow Dash said
The six friends got up from the table and left for the police station. They passed the mental asylum again and it was especially hard on Rainbow Dash. She wondered what the poor kid was being put through in there.

Scootaloo was strapped in a chair. There were leather straps holding her hooves in place and a stallion was putting a metal helmet on her.
"What are you doing." Scootaloo asked
"You're going to be put through a series of electrical shocks. it is suppose to make the scary stuff go away."
"Why are you doing this to me."
"We're trying to help you." the stallion said as he left the room.
Scootaloo tried to get loose from the chair but the leather straps held her in place. The stallion watched from behind a window while another one stood next to a lever and a dial.
"Ten volts." the first stallion said
The second one turned the dial and pulled the lever. Ten volts of electricity were sent right through Scootaloo's body via the helmet.
"Please stop." Scootaloo begged.
"Twenty volts." the first stallion said
The second stallion did so and twenty volts were sent into the filly's body.
"Again."
He pulled the lever again, and by now Scootaloo was crying each time the second stallion pulled the lever. The parts of her mane that were not covered by the helmet were sticking strait up and the tips of her hair were black.
"Forty volts."
"No please, stop." Scootaloo screamed
The stallion turned the dial to forty volts and pulled the lever one final time. Forty volts of electricity were sent through her body. Scootaloo let out one final cry of pain before going unconscious. The first stallion went into the room and unhooked Scootaloo from the chair and carried her to the white padded room.

Twilight and her friends finally made it to the station. They walked into the main room and a mare ushered them into the chief office. In the office there were six seats set out in front of a desk. Behind the desk the cheif sat.
"Hello there." the cheif said "Take a seat."
"Hi." the six ponies said taking their seats
"I called you six here because according to some of the officers, they told me you were the only six ponies up on the night of the murder."
"So are y'all saying one of us did it" Applejack
"In a way, yes." the chief said "And I want you six to help me catch this murderer."
"Wait, if you think one of us did it, then why are you asking us help catch the killer." Twilight asked
"You six aren't going to help my troops, you six are going to find out which one of you is the killer."
"So what you're saying is that we each have to find this killer within this group we have going."
"Precisely" The chief said "You're free to go, and I don't want to see you six back until you got the murderer in handcuffs."
The six friends left the police station. They were now putting a plan together on how they're going to do things. Finally after a couple minutes, Twilight had the idea to have a slumber party. That way they're all together in one place. Twilight went back to her library home and got everything ready, while her friends went home to think up ways they're going to find the killer.

The sun was setting upon the town. Everypony was heading home and only five ponies made their way to the library for a get together. Scootaloo was still unconscious, as the three stallions left for their homes.
"How did the procedure go to day." the third stallion asked
"It was going fine until the kid decided to pass out in the middle of it." the first stallion said
"Do you think she forgot about this whole thing." the second one asked
"No, tomorrow we will have to take drastic measures."
"You aren't going to do, what I think you're going to do."
"Yes, it's the only way to help her."
"Well I'll see you at work tomorrow." the third stallion said heading towards his house
"Me too." the second stallion said.
"Bye you two." the first stallion said as he went into his house
The town was quiet, the streets were empty now and everypony had locked their doors. The killer was still out there, waiting and watching. Nopony was safe from the murderer. All they could do was try to protect themselves from the the sick murderer.
