With the Russian civil war utterly destroying the infrastructure and the economy of the nation, it also left much of the country in ruins. It caused a massive famine and about 5 million people starved to death. Massive inflation and the Ruble is worthless. Hundreds and hundreds of kilometers of railway tracks have been destroyed. Disease and epidemics have killed about 3 million. The populations in Moscow and Petrograd has collapsed. Life expectancy has plummeted. People are freezing to death in their own apartments, and life has been reduced to a constant search for food and shelter.

Now the new ruler Sunset went to work on fixing her broken kingdom. She had her Klabautermanns work on creating roads and railroads to connect her vast empire together. Due to how vast and inhospitable the country is, there are hundreds or even thousands of isolated settlements and people who are from various indigenous groups who largely live the way their ancestors did for centuries. Some of them may even be considered uncontacted. There are also the nomadic tribes that follow the herds and never stay in one place for long.

Sunset understands that Russia has vast wealth and resources, but because of how vast the nation is and how spread out the resources are and how the economy of most of Russia is by barter. Her country lacks an economy to become a world power, it has everything but an economy that doesn’t just make the upper class wealthy. So she’s been working on fixing that issue and others that her father wasn’t able to do.

With all the Roman Klabautermann’s Roman coins made from copper, silver, and gold, gave Sunset the wealth she needed to make changes. Melting the coins down and making new coins and ingots for exchange with other markets and countries. Buying resources that her country needs from the countries that had stayed out of the war, and hiring skilled workers for the many projects she needs to bring her country out of the old ways.

Her Klabautermanns have replaced the army and unlike the human ones, will not cause a mess of things. One of the things that caused the revolution to happen was the soldiers sent to break up a peaceful protest, went and shot the people and it becoming Bloody Sunday, helping the factions against her family to gain support. She disbanded the army and replace them with Klabautermann who are doing a much better job. The only ones left are the ones who had remain loyal to her family, but they still work with the Klabautermann who can overrule them.

The Roman style forts are being built near every settlement, and cities where the people could be protected and kept an eye on. Trade convoys are being setup so that supplies and trade goods could flow, with the Roman Klabautermanns making roads and railroads. All under their control so that the railroads mismanaged wouldn’t cause the supplies to be left to rot in the train yards. Due to the war and civil war, the railroads are a complete mess, with trains taking weeks to return from stations. The Klabautermanns replaced the rail workers and soon the railroads are working on clockworks.

The food stations open up in the cities and large towns and villages, to feed the starving population. The menu being flour, corn grits, condense and powdered milk, rice, coco, and sugar. Other provisions soon joined the menu as the Klabautermanns manning the stations added their own ration supplies to help feed the people. As they are able to eat anything to restore their supplies and repair their bodies, they only ate food for the taste. Canned meats, fruits, and vegetables, along with other army rations were given out to the starving population.

The Klabautermanns also worked as doctors, treating the sick with their medical supplies and know how. Becoming a workforce that repair and built new infrastructure, that many places had lacked before. And gave people protection and security that they didn’t had before. Winning over many Russian people to their new empress’s side. For she's giving them what Vladimir Leni and his party had promised and didn't give, peace and bread.

Sunset frowns as she reads the newspaper, the Russian people are being won over as she gives them food, medicine, shelter, security, and whatever else they need to survive. The brutal executions of her family’s murderers and their families has caused her to be painted as a tyrant with the other countries. Her extended family are fine with ordering the brutal killings of people as long as it’s out of sight and out of mind, but showing it where everyone can see it, is just too much for them.

“My extended family have ordered worst and yet they think they have the morel high ground,” Sunset said to herself. (1)

Her eyes darted to the article of the American Klabautermanns who have all gone on strike, over the mistreatment of women and non whites. Many of the ships are sea when she casted the spell to summon their Klabautermann forms, had gone and made the crewmen even the officers to walk the plank as they refused to allow them to be on board their ship bodies. Or just literally rip them apart when they used their crew bodies to just overrun their ship forms.

Which resulted in the newspapers focusing on the entire navy force of the United States being on strike as they have no ships left to use. Even the tugboats and smaller boats have their own Klabautermanns who joined their sisters. Who more than half of the American Klabautermanns are non whites, they are not willing to serve a country that treats people who aren't white and male as second class citizens. Resulting in much unrest in the country, and the civil rights movements on the raise with the Klabautermanns joining the marches, in disguise. Resulting in the police crack downs being flip as the American Klabautermanns fighting back and leaving the white police force broken, literally as many police had their backs broken, hands crushed and kneecaps shattered. The Southern states has been hit hard by the Klabautermann who in disguised caused the remaining police in the states to be fearful of attacking a female negros and ended up attacking a super strong Klabautermann instead, who will break them literally and make them cripples for life. They also attack anyone who interferes with the protests, mainly white men who are also crippled. The Klans members have been cut down by the Klabautermanns.

No matter what the Americans are offering she won’t help them as it’s their problem in how they treat the non whites and women, they have to solve their own social problems. She had upended her end of the deal, it’s not her fault that the poor treatment of non whites in American caused the Klabautermanns of their nation to go on strike and protest. The United States government is now scrambling to fix the problems and get the navy ships back to work. And that she didn't wait for the American's to be ready for the spell and just casted the Klabautermann spell without any of the singing and show like she did before, is just them not listening to what she told the American diplomats to tell their government. She said she would cast the spell the next day and they had expected her to make it into a big show like before, instead of just doing it in private.

Now the other countries seeing what’s happening in the United States who have their own ambitions in gaining their own Klabautermanns are changing laws so that they wouldn’t have to deal with the mess that the Americans are facing. Both her uncle and the sultan of the Ottomans are making sweeping changes to keep their Klabautermanns happy with them. They have proven too useful and important to mistreat, the Allies are being force to take the terms that the Central Powers want to end the war. The two nations are now two of the most powerful thanks to their Klabautermanns, while the United States has theirs on strike till they get want they want. Which pales to Russia and their magical empress.

Putting the newspaper down, Sunset looks at the paperwork that needs her signature after reviewing them. She had to rebuild the entire bureaucrat system up from scratch but it did allow her to get rid of people who didn’t do any real work and only got their jobs as kickbacks and knowing the right people. As she’s now obligated to handle all the paperwork and all the decision-making that comes with the role of a ruler, she’s making sure that the system works on all levels, unlike her father. And as the one with the absolute power and authority of Russia as the autocracy leader, she’s making sure things run well.

Her grandmother Maria is amazed at how well she has taken in being a ruler. Who has also been pressing her about marriage, with her being the sole heir to her branch of her family, she’s expected to have a family and have heirs. The people needed to know that the royal line would continue.

Sunset agrees but seeing what happen with her brother Alexei thanks to grandmother Victoria marrying her cousin Albert, passing down hemophilia to most of the other royal families. Leading to her parents turning to Rusputin and which lost them support among key members of the aristocracy who would later turn their backs. Which Sunset remembers to do the same for them as well in turn. So she’s looking into anyone who isn’t related to her in some way besides marriage.

She looks at the letter from the Japanese diplomat, she gave the diplomat her demand regarding the lost lands that was lost during the Russo-Japanese War. She wants it all back and if not, her attention will be on the Japanese home islands. She has already sent a fleet of both Russian and Roman Klabautermanns to the Pacific Ocean to safeguard the Eastern coast of Russia. And unlike what happen last time where the Russia navy personnel had let themselves go soft and weren’t ready to fight, the Klabautermann are always ready to fight. She is giving the Japanese time to leave the land they took from Russia but after that her Klabautermann are free to evict anyone that’s left.

The countries that were in the war are rebuilding and the other countries that weren’t are getting use to the new world they found themselves in. A world where magic is real, warships can become human women, and a magical unicorn pony has merged with the late Russian princess. Now everyone is looking for magic items and doing research on magic. All trying to catch up to Russia who not only has a ruler who can use magic, but also has a legendary witch Baba Yaga serving as the court mage.

Sunset looks at the report from Nikola Tesla who in his newly build laboratory, has been working on cracking the secrets from the Wisdom Cube. She has already summon all the Russian and Roman Klabautermanns, giving her a vast army that just better in every field that an army needs to be. And are all completely loyal to her and will never betray her or follow others, all she has to do is treat them nicely and they will follow her no matter what.
