Author's Note

I've been working on this fanfic for over a year. Also it's my first fic on here so please be gentle :,)

Chapter 1: The Attack on Canterlot

The story starts in canterlot castle’s throne room; we see Twilight, Celestia, Luna and Discord surrounding The Unity Crystals.

“-I’m with you…” Twilight just got done recording a message for The Unity Crystals. “There. Now whoever has The Unity Crystals in the future will know about Opaline and the growing magic. Now we must separate and hide them before Opa-” She didn’t get a chance to finish her sentence cause the door flew open and in came Opaline Arcana, The fire Alicorn.

“Well... well… well… If it isn’t Twilight Sparkle and my old fillyhood “friends”, Celestia and Luna.”
Opaline spots Discord, who is just standing there awkwardly. “And who are you?” Opaline asks.
Discord dramatically gasps in disgust

“I’m Discord, The lord of Chaos! What? Have you been living under a rock or something?” Discord then snaps his fingers making a giant bolder appear over Opaline’s head. It lands on her, crushing her.

“Huh… That was easy-” Luna starts to say before Opaline bursts the bolder into a million pieces with her magic.

Opaline laughs and says “You really think it’d be THAT easy!?”.

They all look at each other, Discord breaks the silence by saying: “To be honest… Yes.”

Opaline growls and charges up her magic “I am NOT to be UNDERESTIMATED!” She screamed.
Blasting a beam of magic at Discord, who snaps his fingers turning the beam of magic into ice cream.

“Oh please” he chuckles “You’ll need to try harder than that!”

Opaline is about to charge at Discord but notices Twilight holding the crystals. Discord notices that she’s spotted the crystals and swipes them out of Twilight hooves, puts them in his bag, and flies out the window.

“I’ll keep the crystals safe! You take care of Opaline!” He shouts as he flies away.
Opaline, filled with rage, tries to go after Discord but Twilight stops her.

“I won’t let you have Equestria’s magic, Opaline!” Twilight yelled.

“Neither will we!” Celestia and Luna chime in.

As Discord is flying away with the crystals, an army of dragons start to chase him. Meanwhile: Celestia, Luna, and Twilight are fighting Opaline in the throne room.

“I will obtain the power from the crystals! AND YOU CAN’T STOP ME!” Opaline screams as she blasts Celestia in the chest with magic. “CELESTIA!!” Both Luna and Twilight exclaim.

Opaline laughs “This is what you get for never looking my way! For never realizing how powerful I am!”

Luna holds Celestia in her arms, Celestia scoffs “What are you talking about?”
Opaline tries to blast Celestia while she’s down but Twilight steps in, blocking her magic beam with her own. Twilight’s beam gets shorter and shorter as Opaline’s beam gets closer to destroying Twilight's horn.

“TWILIGHT!” Celestia & Luna screams.

Opaline laughs “Ha! You thought that could defeat me?!”

“No… I was just stalling for time. Discord has probably already made it outside of Canterlot by now. I will ensure you don’t get your hooves on the crystals AND SO WILL HE!” Twilight exclaimed.

Opaline grinds her teeth in anger. How could she have let that stupid draconequus escape with the crystals
“DRAGONS, FIND THAT STUPID DRACONEQUUS AND BRING HIM TO ME NOW!”

All of Opaline’s dragon army starts searching for Discord.
Meanwhile: Discord is still being chased by a group of dragons despite having left Canterlot. Suddenly he notices the group of dragons getting bigger, he starts to panic as it seems the whole army is now after him.

Discord snaps his fingers summoning a large swarm of bees to see if that’ll distract them. It only leaves some of them caught trying to fight off the swarm but most of them are still following him

“I guess bees weren’t strong enough.”
suddenly a lightbulb lights up over Discord’s head (literally).

He snaps his fingers once again and a large butterfly net appears, he turns around and scoops up the dragons in the net.

“Taakee… THIS!” he then swings the net and throws them back to Canterlot.

Discord flies away but as he’s flying he hears something coming closer to him, specifically a voice, screaming in anger. He turns around to see Opaline charging right towards him.

Opaline bucks Discord into the side of a mountain, revealing a secret cave, he loses grip of his bag. The crystals fall out of his bag and onto the floor of the cave. Discord crashes into the cave and lands under an archway, that looks like it could’ve been a portal of some sort.

“Finally… The Unity Crystals, and the Prisbeam power… Is MIN-” Suddenly, Opaline gets cut off as Twilight, Luna and Celestia have finally caught up to her.

“This stops now, Opaline!” Celestia yells as she charges forward to try and keep the crystals away from Opaline.

The three princesses and the evil queen are fighting over the crystals, as Discord gets up, he looks up to see 4 squares aligned to make one diamond. The squares start to glow a green color, and Discord tries to get away from the mysteriously glowing archway. Suddenly a portal opens, and everypony notices.
Discord is trying to get away from the portal but it starts to suck him in.

“DISCORD!” Twilight yells. “Don’t worry! I’ve got you!” She runs to Discord and grabs his paw, trying her best to keep her grip on him strong.

“Twilight, don’t worry about me! The fate of Equestria is way more important!” he yells, shifting his eyes to The Unity Crystals.

“But-” Twilight starts to speak but suddenly “DISCORD! NO!” Twilight yells as Discord gets sucked through this portal.

Suddenly… everything is… quiet. Too quiet. Discord wakes up to find himself resting on a bed, with his head wrapped in bandages.

“What… in Celestia’s name is…” he starts to question why he’s here but starts to look around the room.

He then looks down at his body and realizes: “I’m not a draconequus anymore?!”

He snaps his fingers to try and change back. Nothing happens.

"Huh? That's odd." He snaps his fingers again... and nothing happens.

Discord starts to panic a little, but suddenly, a girl with long light pink hair walks in.

"Fluttershy...?" he whispers.
