Twisted years and darkenned fears

I looked around at the hall of memories built for my friends, long since lost. I look at their bodies crystalized upon their deaths. I looked to the love of my life. I remembered the pain my friends and I felt when we were told we couldn't have children. The pain of his death crushed me and I cursed my immortal form. His form so different than ours, but his heart so similar. "I would give everything to have them back," I said quietly.

I finally just made a wish. 'Please just use all of the power available to allow me to meet them all again and be able to keep them. I want my true family with them again.'

A grating voice filled my head, "powerful wish coinciding with another's fusing wishes... Granted. Restarting now. So long Twilight and see you again." Power burst throughout the world as it collapsed to a moment of true infinity.

I woke up breathing heavy as confusion spread through my mind I felt the power flow for less than a second. All I could remember from that dream was Kyle and that grating voice saying, 'so long Twilight and see you again.'

I quickly got dressed and ran to the hospital Kyle was at, too flustered to even think of teleporting. I slammed open the door o his room and saw him awake he looked at me and I felt a pulse within me.

Twilight rushed in the room and I looked at her, her beautiful lavender eyes met mine and I felt a pulse within me. I stood up and walked to her. "Why do I feel like I do? Why do I want to keep you? Why do I know you, but I don't? Why do I wish.... Why did I wish?"

Twilight put her arms around me, while I held her close to me and felt more alive than I ever had, and answered with questions of her own, "why do I feel like I've lived a thousand lives with you? Why do I feel like I've lost you so many times? Why do I want to find a forever with you? Why do I know you, but I don't? Why do I wish.... Why did I wish?"

Then, we said simultaneously, "who are we?" This is when we noticed princess Celestia and princess Luna were in the room hearing our interactions.

They looked to us and Celestia asked, "what do you mean by all of this?" Then, she looked to Luna and said one thing, "is this what I think it is?"

Twilight and I felt a pulse of energy between us and I could feel her heartbeat. "I believe so sister. Destined pair. Though I'm not certain. Tis something we'll have to pay attention to," Luna said.

We finally let go of each other and stared at them. Twilight was the first to react, and asked, "princesses what do you mean by destined pair."

Celestia took a slow breath and she wore a thoughtful expression. "Although more evidence is required it could be something wonderful or something devastating. However, the basics of it is that those involved share a intriquit and interweaving destiny. It is never something small, but as was said by my sister we are uncertain," she answered. Her face showed some small amounts of negativity and I felt like there was more, but, I didn't push it.

Luna walked up to me and fidgeted around a bit. Finally, she looked at me and said, "we are both thankful and sorry for what occurred in the past night. You have proven to be strong of heart, but, please try to protect the life you have as well. If the magic last night hadn't healed you, you would have been either injured beyond belief or.. or just dead. So please stay alive." She put a hand on my shoulder and looked me in the eyes for a moment before turning around. The princesses teleported out of the room leaving us alone.

We looked at each other thinking of what had just happened and what was said. The room was soon filled up by all of our friends and I got tackled hugged by Pinkie as sh shouted, " YAY!!" This knocked me over and hurt a bit. However, I could feel the tears against my black shirt and knew how scared she was of what could have been.

Rarity quickly responded to the situation, "Pinkie, darling you really need to be careful."

I picked Pinkie up, moved over to the hospital bed, sat her down on lap and hugged her tight. "It's perfectly fine Rarity," I said as pinky gripped me tighter an buried her face into my chest.

As I looked at them girls around me I realized just how gorgeous they were. Twilight was the perfect expectation of a cute school girl with her light blue, short sleeved, button up shirt with a little, cute, dark lavender bow tie, a simple indigo skirt, knee socks, and a pair of buckle shoes. Rarity oozed upper class grace and determination with a short sleeved silver button up shirt, diamond shaped indigo earrings, a pair of red glasses, a short indigo skirt with silver accents, and ampair of indigo heels. Fluttershy showed a natural and serene beauty and wore a long sleeved, green, wool sweater with a red heart on her chest, and a short, pink skirt. Rainbow was wearing a pair of goggles on her head, a very tight one piece outfit that was dark blue with yellow lightning bolt accents and left very little to the imagination. Applejack wore a long sleeved, plaid, button up, shirt with the sleeves rolled up, covering up a white tank top, a cowboy hat, a pair of torn jeans, and a pair of cowboy boots showing the beauty of a working country girl. Pinkie was like a cute eighties party girl and wore a blue shirt that hung off of one shoulder and had a print of multi colored balloons on it, a pink, frilled short skirt with black leggings under it and a pair of black beat up sneakers with pink accents.

I looked around and saw the same expression amongst them and knew we were thinking the same thing. "So, why do I feel like I know all of you and why do you feel a comforting sensation seeing all of you? Also, where am I?" I asked.

Twilight took a breath and answered, "I don't know the answer I the first questions, but I can say that you are an element of harmony, the element of forgiveness. I'm the element of magic, Pinkie is the element of laughter, Applejack is the element of honesty, Rainbow is the element of loyalty, Rarity is the element of generosity, and Fluttershy is the element of kindness. This is Ponyville, in the monarchy of Equestria."

"You all seriously are the embodiment of those," I said with a chuckle. "I still don't know what the hell an element of harmony is, but I do know one thing. We sure as hell ain't in Kansas anymore?" I continued.

The girls around me just stared at me with blank expressions, save for Pinkie, who laughed and said, "you don't even have Toto here." I laughed, confused at how she even got the joke. This is when Pinkie seemed to remember something and jumped off of me and rushed out. I looked around and they just giggled.

"I'm not gonna ask," was all I said.

"It's better not tah ask round Pinkie, just what she does," Applejack stated. "Shoot I gotta go, them apples ain't gonna harvest themselves." She finished as she left as well. Fluttershy kinda blushed and just left silently.

"As much as I would like to stay, I have some orders to fill," Rarity said as she bid me adieu.

"Dude you were awesome last night when you jumped in front of Twilight, but we'll have to talk later. I've gotta prepare a late shower for today. See ya man," Rainbow said as she gave me a fist bump, then flew off.

I stood up, stretched out and put on my hoodie. Twilight took me to the lobby where I was discharged and given my stuff back. We walked to her house, which was also a tree and a library, 'heh, treebary,' I thought. I got a lot of looks walking through the little town. Most were just curiosity and some were confusion, but some were looks of disgust.

We went in and I saw a small reptile cleaning up, "are you a... Dragon?" I asked him.

He looked to me and smiled, "yup, my name's Spike. You must be Kyle, thank you for saving Twilight," he answered.

"Yeah, no problem, still wondering what happened," I stated.

"Spike, I think Rarity may need your help, she is a bit behind," Twilight said. Spike got a loopy smile and nodded as he left the building. Twilight sat down on a chair and took a breath. "There's something in need to speak to you about... Last night I had a dream... You were in it... I know that... But, the only thing I really remember is that and... And a grating voice saying... So long and see you again... I feel like this is less of a dream and... More of... More of a memory," she said slowly.

This brought back what happened yesterday to the front of my mind and a grating voice filled the room, "primary conditions met. Welcome Kyle, welcome Twilight. First physical change unlocked, Kyle now has the strength and durability of an earth pony. Twilight is now compatible with Kyle." A jolt of energy shot through me, causing a huge amount of pain. However, I withstood it and stood back up and some of the memories of the voice came back to me. Not what it said just how it sounded.

Twilight and I stared at each other for a moment before I stated, "I've heard that voice as well." We walked out and I lit up a cigarette. I explained my day before I met up with them to her and we both said, "I dreamt of you."
