On Top of a Rainbow
A thunderous whack rang out from the hills of Sweet Apple Acres. A tree shook from the force of the blow, yielding its luscious fruit and letting it drop into the waiting wooden buckets below. Applejack trotted over to the cart already filled with red delicious apples and carefully dumped the contents of her buckets on top. She took a moment of reprieve, removing her Stetson hat and wiping the sweat from her mane. Despite how much she loved working the farm she called home, the abundant heat did get to her every now and then. Closing her eyes and waving a hoof to fan herself, she began to feel the heat lessen bit by bit. She opened her eyes and looked up, noticing a cloud hanging over her and providing her some much needed shade.
“Now where on Earth did that cloud come from?” Applejack asked herself. Since she had started working early in the morning, the sky had been virtually clear, without a single cloud in it. And the one that had just appeared was the only one in sight. She puzzled over its appearance, until she noticed the head of a blue pegasus poking her head over the cloud and looking right down at her.
“What’s up, AJ?” Rainbow Dash called down from above, enthusiasm apparent in her voice.
Applejack smiled up at her friend. “Hey there, Rainbow Dash! What brings y’all over to the farm?”
“I’ve just been keeping Ponyville’s skies clear of clouds for most of the day.” The cyan pony replied, swooping down from her cloud and landing in front of Applejack. “But I figured since it’s so hot, I might save one for the most awesome farmer in town.”
“Y’all saved that cloud for me?” Applejack smiled, and averted her eyes from the pony in front of her. “Thanks, Dash. Ya shouldn’t have.”
“No problem.” Rainbow Dash cantered up to Applejack and nuzzled her gently. Her touch sent calm, soothing feeling throughout Applejack’s being. “So… what do you say we take a break?” Rainbow asked in a soft seductive voice, lifting her hoof up and rubbing Applejack’s barrel and slowly making her way towards the farmer’s cutie mark.
Applejack shivered in response to Rainbow’s hooves. That appreciative sense Applejack felt quickly wore off as her face turned to a look of disapproval. She swatted the advancing hoof away with her blonde tail.
“Ow!” Rainbow Dash quickly pulled her hoof away from Applejack. “What’s your problem?”
“My problem is that I got apples to buck.” Applejack replied in a huff. “And I don’t need anypony distracting me when I got a busy day’s work ahead of me.”
“But-!” Rainbow Dash tried to protest, before Applejack cut her off.
“But nothing. I got a job to do, and I can’t just take breaks whenever I want to.” Applejack strutted towards another tree brimming with delicious red fruit. “If y’all just came by ‘cause you wanted to do… that, then you might as well go on home.”
Rainbow Dash rolled her eyes, but instead of taking to the air, she merely followed Applejack, who had turned herself around and readied herself to buck another tree.
“I said I ain’t got time, Dash.” Applejack said once again, a sense of frustration apparent in her voice. “And I ain’t gonna change my mind on it neither!”
“I know.” Rainbow Dash responded flatly.
Applejack delivered a swift kick to the trunk behind her, and then looked back at Rainbow with confusion in her face. A single apple fell on her head, while the rest filled her apple collectors promptly. “Come again?” she asked, shaking her head in rapid fashion.
“I don’t care if you’re not in the mood for some fun right now. I still wanna hang out with you.”
“Really?”
“Hay, yeah!” the pegasus replied earnestly. “Maybe I could help you out with your work?”
“But I’ve only got one set of apple catchers. The other ones are all the way back at the farm.”
“Well then why don’t I kick, and you catch? That way you can get a break from bucking?” Applejack lowered her eyes in thought, while Rainbow flashed a bold smile. “Come on; I’ll bet even farmer ponies get tired in this heat every now and then.”
Applejack smiled as she looked at the pony across from her. Some ponies gave Rainbow Dash a lot of grief for being overly competitive. To be fair, she did have those moments. But Applejack knew just as much as her other friends did, perhaps even more so herself, that she was very considerate of those around her. It was moments like these when Rainbow showed her loyalty that brought joy to her.
“Okay, you win.” She said, moving towards the cart and dumping her collection in with the supply she’d already gathered. She led the pegasus towards another tree as she took position under its leaves. Rearing her legs back, Rainbow Dash let out a fierce yell as she delivered a fierce kick to the tree, knocking all of its fruit into the farmer’s baskets.
“Good job, Rainbow!”
The cyan pony lifted a hoof and rubbed her own chest in self-admiration. “Who do you think I am?” she asked with a voice full of confidence. “Apple-bucking’s nothing to me after being the best flier in all of Equestria!”
“Alright, don’t get too cocky.” Applejack dissuaded her as she dumped what she’d gathered into her cart. “We still got a few more trees to take care of.”
Making their way to another tree, each pony took their position. Rainbow Dash delivered another kick to the trunk, but in this time only a few apples fell from above.
“What the hay?” Rainbow irritably called out. Applejack snickered to herself.
“See? It ain’t always easy. Some trees have stronger bark than others do. Ya gotta put more legwork into it.”
Furrowing her brow, the rainbow haired pony steeled herself again. She lifted her hindlegs back and drove them fiercely into the tree behind her with a loud crack. A multitude of red orbs rained down and filled Applejack’s buckets up well past the top.
“There you go!” Applejack commended Rainbow Dash’s efforts. “Ya feel the burn yet?”
“Hah, no way!” Rainbow Dash replied, slightly out of breath. “Well, kind of.”
Applejack chortled. “Probably ‘cause you been working the weather all day, and now you’re pushing yourself in the heat. Don’t worry, with this one, the cart’s full.” Applejack reassured her, dumping what she had into the cart and topping it off. “We might as well drop ‘em off at the farm. Come on, let’s go.” Applejack fixed her head behind the pulleys and tugged it off towards the farm in the distance, with Rainbow Dash following her closely. The two carried on in comfortable silence for a while until Rainbow Dash piped up.
“Hey, so, can I ask you a question?” the pegasus asked warily, trotting up beside Applejack.
“Well sure, Dash. What’s up?”
“About earlier, when I first showed up. I’m not trying to push you into anything, but I’m just a little confused. Were you really that busy, or were you upset about something?”
Applejack stayed silent a moment as she mulled her response over in her thoughts. “Well, I was kind of nervous about what I wanted to say, so I passed it off like I had a lot of work to do. I’m sorry Dash. That weren’t fair to you.”
“It’s okay.” The pegasus responded. “But talk to me: what’s the matter?”
“Well… Dash, you know I love the time we’ve been spending together, but think about it: Every time we’ve had these ‘moments’, which one of us makes the first move?”
“… Me.” Rainbow Dash admitted after a little deliberation.
“Right. And which of us is the pony that ends up taking the reigns on things?”
“Me.” Rainbow admitted again.
“See? I feel like you’re not letting me have any control over things.”
“Then how come you’ve never made the first move on me before?”
“Because I never got a chance to. You’re always flying around most of the day, so I never know how to find you. You’re always the one swooping down on me and before I know it, you’re on top of me right behind the bushes or something.”
“But what’s wrong with it being that way? You seem to enjoy yourself when I’m the one on top.”
Applejack’s thoughts returned to the first time they had embraced each other. It was definitely the most awkward experience she’d felt in her life, they way she’d been so desperate to hide her attraction to Rainbow Dash. While the pegasus had been nervous too, she seemed to have a much easier time confessing than she had. Hearing that bit of honesty broke Applejack, and made her open up to let Rainbow Dash have her all to herself.
“I do enjoy it, Dash, I really do.” Applejack replied, wearing a sultry smile. “But I’m a born farmer; I like to get my hooves dirty…” she moved herself a bit closer to the pegasus, so that their sides were almost touching. “In more ways than one.” With Rainbow Dash right next to her, she swished her tail across the cyan pony’s flank, causing her to jump a bit.
“I…!” Rainbow took a breath as her cheeks flushed a bit. “I-I’m not sure…”
“Come on Rainbow. All I’m asking is to switch places with me next time. Is that really so much to ask?”
Rainbow Dash stayed silent for a moment before letting out a frustrated sigh. “I guess not. Fine. You can be on top next time.”
“Well, alright! Thanks, sugar cube.” Applejack leaned in close and gave her a tender kiss on the cheek. Rainbow Dash smiled nervously in response, as the two approached the barn. Applejack stopped her cart and removed her head from the pulleys. “So after collection, now’s about the time when we put everything we gathered here in storage.”
“Alright, easy enough.” Rainbow Dash said, leaning her head down to open the wooden doors on the ground.
“But, before we do that... ” Applejack trailed off, approaching Rainbow Dash from behind. She buried her snout deep within the pony’s blue haunches, taking a powerful sniff as she ran her nose up the crease of her marehood.
“Hnng!” Rainbow Dash’s head jerked up quickly and clenched her hindquarters tightly. She quickly turned around to look at Applejack behind her. “What the hay are you doing!?” she asked, her face blushing deeply.
“What’s the matter? I thought y’all wanted to take a break?”
“Y-y-you mean… right now?”
“Now’s a good a time as any. I mean, the barn’s right there. I want to see if I can make you moan like you always make me.”
“I-I don’t know…”
“Oh, come on. I thought you wanted to have some fun when you first got here. You telling me you’re not in the mood anymore?” Applejack closed her eyes and pulled her head back a moment, gently puffing a breath of air onto Rainbow’s lower lips.
“Mm…” Rainbow Dash clenched her teeth as her rump began to tremble. Her folds began to pulse open in a winking motion, as a strand of moisture dripped onto the ground below her. “O-okay!”
“Yeehaw!” Applejack exclaimed. “Then let’s get to it!” Applejack replaced her snout back into Rainbow Dash’s crotch and pushed against her, forcing her to move towards the open barn doors. Once inside, Applejack flicked her nose upwards, prompting the pegasus to lose her balance and fall onto her chest. Applejack turned about to close and lock the large doors tight. She turned her head to look at her partner, lying on the ground with her rump in the air, still dripping a bit. She felt a heat spread through her body as her own blond tail rose to indicate her arousal. The farmer quickly tossed her Stetson aside, made her way back to Rainbow, lifting herself onto her hindlegs and pushing her waist into Dash’s rump. Rainbow Dash whimpered in response.
“Golly, y’all sure are begging for it.” Applejack heckled her as she thrust into her. The motion provided no real gratification for her, but it was a clear way for her to show that she was finally in control. As she thrust into her, she pulled a hoof up towards her rump and softly caressed her cheek. “Don’t worry yer pretty little head. I’m gonna give it to ya real good.” She quickly pulled back and smacked her hoof across Dash’s backside, causing her to cry out.
“Don’t!” she screamed, pulling her forelegs over her head in fear. “Please don’t hit me, master!”
“Wait, what’s that?” Applejack asked in confusion.
“I’m sorry, master! I’ll be a good girl from now on, just please don’t hit me!” Rainbow Dash sobbed as her body began to shudder violently.
“Whoa, hang on, time out.” Applejack immediately took herself off of Rainbow Dash’s rear and made her way towards her face. She offered a hoof, but the scared pony jerked her head away. “Dash, it’s me.” She gently moved her head towards Rainbow’s and brushed along her brightly colored mane. “It’s me.” Rainbow’s body began to cease it’s trembling as she poked her eyes through her forelegs, looking up at Applejack. She uncovered her head as she looked about at the ground she lay on.
“What did I just say...?” she asked, bewildered.
“Ya called me master.” Applejack explained. “And ya begged me not to hit you.” Rainbow Dash shook her head in frustration and slammed a hoof against the ground.
“What was that all about?”
“N-n-nothing. Just... forget it happened.” Rainbow Dash clenched her teeth and shook her head violently. “I-I-I need to go.”
“Dash, please don’t-!” before she could finish, the pegasus was on her hooves with her wings spread out, and rising towards the opening on the upper level. In an instant, Applejack quickly jumped up and caught Rainbow’s tail in her teeth, yanking her back down to the Earth with a thud.
“Ow!” Rainbow cried out as she hit the floor.
“Sorry.” Applejack apologized. “But I care way too much to let ya go flying off when something’s obviously bothering ya.” She quickly pulled herself up over Rainbow Dash, placing her forelegs on either side to keep her from escaping.
“I said I don’t wanna talk about it!”
“I know y’all don’t wanna talk about it. But I think y’all need to talk about it.” Rainbow Dash looked away from the pony above her, wearing a scowl. “Hey, look at me.” Applejack demanded. Rainbow tilted her eyes towards the farmer. “When we were in Whitetail Woods, I didn’t wanna be honest with you neither. I didn’t even wanna be honest with myself. But you kept pushing me until I couldn’t hide it no more. It was tough and a really embarrassing…” she moved a hoof to Rainbow Dash’s cheek and brushed against her. “But it was the best thing I ever coulda done. I’m so grateful that you were persistent with me. I trusted you because I cared so much for you. Now I need you to trust me.”
Rainbow Dash’s face softened as she leaned into Applejack’s touch. Her eyes began to shimmer. She closed them and took a deep breath before she spoke.
“Gilda…” she said in a soft voice.
“Gilda?”
“Yeah. We used to be together. And we were really happy together at the start. We were always racing, and seeing Wonderbolts shows together, all sorts of things. But it started to get kind of ugly the longer we stayed an item. Whenever we weren’t in public, she’d get really rough with me.”
“What did she do to you?” Applejack asked her voice full of worry. As she listened, she ran her hoof down Rainbow’s face and stroked her foreleg in a comforting manner.
“She used to spank me really hard, which I didn’t really mind at first. Then she just started hitting me. I’d ask her to stop when we were done, and she said she would. But she never did. And then there was that one night…” her mouth trembled as she searched for the words, but failed to find them. She instead turned her head away, and pulled a part of her mane away for Applejack to see.
As Applejack looked closely at Rainbow Dash, she noticed a peculiar mark on her neck. Onto her blue coat looked like a disfigured mark in the shape of two tiny triangles meeting together at the tips. “Is that…?” Applejack asked at a loss for words.
“She said it was to remind her that I was hers, and that she called the shots. And if I kept mouthing off to her, that she’d leave one on my face.” Applejack gasped. “I pushed her off of me and told her to get lost. She tried to put up a fight, but I head butted her hard enough to knock her through the clouds, and she left after that.”
“But if y’all fell out, why were the two of y’all hanging out after applebuck season?”
“I got a letter from her saying that she heard about me saving Ponyville from Nightmare Moon with you guys. She apologized for what she did to me, and told me how wrong she was to treat a pony as awesome as me so badly. I just wanted to give her another chance.” Rainbow Dash sighed deeply. “But seeing her act like such a hot-head at Pinkie Pie’s party, and the way she tried to drag me out with her made me realize that she’s never going to change. She even sent me another letter before you and I played horseshoes, but I just threw it away without opening it.”
Applejack pulled Rainbow Dash in close to her body and stroked her colorful mane. “I’m so sorry, Rainbow.”
“I-it’s okay” Dash replied, burying her face into Applejack’s chest. She sobbed quietly for a moment as Applejack continued to stroke her. After a few minutes, Rainbow pulled her head away and looked up at Applejack with eyes slightly red and puffy, but with a smile on her face. “Thank you.”
“Of course, sugar cube.” Applejack leaned in and kissed her friend gently on her lips. Rainbow returned her embrace in kind, letting her sweet lips welcome the farmer’s embrace. The orange pony severed their kiss a moment and leaned her forehead against her partner’s.
“Ya know I would never hurt you, right?”
“I know. I just got really nervous from the way you were being aggressive with me. It reminded me of how she was when we’d be alone together.”
“If I’d have known what you’d gone through, I wouldn’t have been so rough on ya.” She softly stroked the side of Rainbows face as she spoke. “I’d never hurt ya, sugar cube.”
Rainbow Dash closed her eyes and nuzzled against Applejack’s hoof. “Gentle sounds really nice right now.”
Applejack beamed back at her. “I promise I’ll be as gentle as a lamb. You let me know if you’re even a little bit scared, and I promise I’ll stop. Okay?”
“…Okay.”
Applejack began to brush against her rainbow mane with her hoof. “Y’all got such a pretty mane, Dash.”
“You really think so?” Rainbow asked timidly.
Applejack nodded. “Especially when you’re flying about, and it’s flowing against the sunlight. I sure wish I had hair as pretty as yours.”
“Th-thanks.” She replied. “But I think yours is way prettier.”
“What, this old thing?” Applejack asked, flicking her ponytail with a hoof. She reached down to her hair band and pulled it off, tossing it aside. She shook her head and let her golden locks sway out, coming unfurled and draping across her shoulders.
“Yeah… especially when you wear it like that.”
“Thanks. I ‘appreciate that.”
“...I love you, Applejack.”
Applejack stayed silent a moment. Hearing Rainbow say that melted her heart. Even during their first time in Whitetail Woods when they had admitted how attracted they were to one another, neither of them had admitted anything that deep. The farmer’s eyes began to sting as she smiled in joy. “I love ya too, Rainbow Dash.” The farmer moved her head down and kissed Rainbow Dash again. The blue pony moaned softly as her rainbow tail swished back and forth. Applejack began to move her hoof down her partner’s side, gently caressing her barrel as she moved, until she reached her hindleg. She began to softly drag it towards her inner thigh. “I ain’t making you uncomfortable, am I?”
“No. No, you’re okay.” Rainbow answered, moving to open her hindlegs to allow Applejack more access. The orange pony moved her hoof across Rainbow’s coat until she made contact with something warm and wet. Rainbow Dash gasped suddenly.
“You okay?”
“I’m alright!” she squirmed and moved her hips into Applejack’s hoof. “Ooh, I’m more than alright...” She reached up to touch Applejack’s soft lips once more, while her hindlegs wrapped around her foreleg to pull Applejack's hoof in even closer. Applejack slowly began to push her tongue into Rainbow’s mouth, until she felt her lover’s tongue accept and hold it within her own. Rainbow’s mouth tasted so sweet within her own, sweeter than any of the fruit that grew on her own farm. Just as she was thinking that she never wanted to let it go, the pegasus pulled her head to the side and moaned loudly.
Applejack giggled lightly. “Golly Rainbow, I didn’t realize how sensitive ya were.” She lightly dragged the tip of her hoof across the crevasse of her partner’s opening.
“
S-s-sorry” Rainbow Dash muttered in shame.
“Don’t be. I think it’s cute.” The cyan pegasus smiled bashfully, as her cheeks turned red. She pulled her forelegs over her face to hide her expression. “Heh, what’s wrong?”
“You’re embarrassing me!”
“Aww. But it’s true.” Applejack leaned her head in close to Rainbow’s ear and whispered. “You’re the cutest pony I’ve ever laid eyes on.”
“Ohhh!” Rainbow’s hindlegs wrapped even tighter around Applejack as her teeth clenched together. “I’m so close, Applejack. So close…”
Applejack beamed as she heard Rainbow’s cry, and began to rapidly pump her hoof into Rainbow’s nethers. “Just like I said, you’re the cutest pony ever.” She kissed her ear tenderly, and continued to whisper to her. “Cute mane, cute body, and the cutest little voice too.”
“Ahh! Applejack! I love you, Applejack!” Rainbow Dash rocked her hips into Applejack’s foreleg as she felt her hoof become soaked in the blue pony’s fluids. She pulled Rainbow Dash in close to her chest and rubbed her hair again. Every few moments, she’d lean her mouth down and kiss the top of her bright and colorful mane.
“Thank you so much, Applejack. That was… so… awesome. Just like you are.” She felt Rainbow Dash’s legs open up and release Applejack’s foreleg from its confinement. The farmer felt a sting rush up as circulation returned to her hoof. “Wow, I’m so wet down there...”
“Ya sure are.” Applejack responded, lifting her hoof up to her mouth. She began to lick the essence off of her own hoof, savoring its sweet and sticky taste. “Ya want me to get ya all clean?”
Rainbow Dash grinned sheepishly. “Uh… yeah. That sounds awesome.”
Applejack smiled as she moved her head lightly down past Rainbow’s stomach. The pegasus rolled herself onto her back and reared her hindlegs up, letting Applejack have full access to her crease. The orange pony extended her tongue and began to lap up Dash’s soaking inner thigh. Her coat tasted of sweat and cloud precipitation, and made Applejack smile as she rolled the taste in her mouth. Once her legs were clean, Applejack ran her tongue up to catch what was left on her slit, rubbing up against her clitoris slightly.
“Ooh...” Rainbow moaned out loud again.
“Like I said, sugar cube, just tell me when you want me to stop.”
Rainbow Dash averted her eyes a moment, and then looked back at the farmer between her legs. She reached her forelegs down and held Applejacks ears in a warming embrace. “Don’t worry; I will.”
Applejack resumed licking her soft flesh as she felt Rainbow secrete more fluids into her mouth. She began to push her tongue deep inside of her, feeling Rainbow’s inner walls convulse and tighten around her tongue.
“Oh, Applejack...” Rainbow Dash moaned, wrapping her hindlegs around the farmer’s head. She fondled Applejack’s ears tenderly as her body continued to take in her lavish tongue. “You’re so good...”
Applejack moaned softly as she pushed her nose into Rainbow’s clitoris. The touch of Rainbow’s hooves against her ears, and hearing her own named called out so passionately drove her wild. The tension in her loins began to increase rapidly. It reached a point where her rump instinctively pushed outwards, desperately seeking some sort of relief. She forced herself down to rest on her hindleg, but the mild pressure did little to sate her needs.
“Hey, AJ? You alright?”
“Ehh?” Applejack groaned in a daze, picking her head up a moment and letting a strand of saliva drop between her tongue and Rainbow’s lower lips. She licked her lips as she looked into her lover’s eyes. “Y’all are turning me on... so so much. I’m going crazy down there.”
“It doesn’t have to be all about me, you know. We can help each other out.”
Applejack smiled and offered a final kiss on Rainbow’s soaking folds. She lifted her shaking hindlegs up underneath her and repositioned them up towards the pegasus. Sliding one leg underneath hers, and another on top of her blue stomach, she quickly pushed her own lips against Rainbow’s. The two opened their mouths and gasped simultaneously.
“You’re, so warm, Applejack” Rainbow Dash called out.
“You’re so wet, Rainbow” she replied in kind, feeling her face heat up. She slowly thrust her hips into her partner’s body, letting her lips slide across Rainbow’s with ease. She wanted so terribly to let go and buck into Rainbow Dash with all her strength; but she promised herself that she would be nothing but gentle with her. She concentrated on holding herself back, gently pushing her body into Rainbow’s while their clits rubbed and tickled one another. Lying on her lower back, she lifted her head to watch the pegasus throw her head back in bliss as she bucked into her. “Stay with me, Rainbow. I’m just building up now.”
“Hurry up! I don’t know how much more I can hold on.”
“Just gimme a minute, sugar. I ain’t as fast as you.”
“Hey, what’s that mean!?” Rainbow replied in an excited huff.
Applejack chuckled with her teeth clenched. “Nothin’. You’re doing fine.” She reached over to one of Rainbow’s hindlegs and began to caress it as she continued to press into her body. While Applejack may not have had her fill of rigorous thrusts from the pegasus, she relished in hearing her delighted squeals. It was more than enough to give her the gratification she desired.
“Ooh... ohh... oh!” Rainbow Dash moaned out as her body began to jitter. Hearing her excited moans pushed Applejack’s arousal up gradually. Her thrusting speed increased until her energy reached its limit, and her body locked in place. With a final shudder, Applejack released all the tension she’d been holding back for so long in a cascade of fluid against Rainbow’s body, just as she felt another rush push against her from Rainbow’s side.
“Ahh...” Applejack closed her eyes and sighed as a content smile spread across her face. She opened her eyes and looked across at Rainbow Dash, striving to catch her breath as she looked back into the farmer’s eyes. Applejack picked herself up and dove at Rainbow, pushing her lips up against hers in a firm kiss, wrapping her forelegs around her neck in a loving embrace.
Breaking the kiss, Rainbow Dash pushed her head into Applejack’s chest again and smiled. Applejack brushed her hooves against the back of the blue pony’s neck, until she felt something rough and out of place. She remembered the scar that she had been shown a few moments ago.
“Hey, Rainbow...” Applejack whispered. “You ever thought about getting that thing removed? Even if doctors can’t do anything about it, I’ll betcha Twilight could come up with a spell that could help.”
Rainbow Dash frowned as she mulled in her thoughts. “I don’t know. I kind of wanted to keep it as a reminder for myself. Something to remind me not to let anyone take advantage of me ever again.”
“I understand. That’s a good idea.” Applejack replied, brushing her mane. “But let me offer you something else.” She dipped her head underneath Rainbow’s chin and pressed her lips against her soft blue neck. She remained there for several seconds, until she broke the kiss and looked back up at Rainbow. “I just gave you my own mark. It didn’t hurt, and it ain’t visible to anypony else. But it’s still there, and it’ll always be there as long as you want.”
Rainbow Dash smiled again and nuzzled her face against Applejack’s neck. “Thank you so much. I love you, AJ.”
“I love ya too, RD.” Rainbow Dash closed her eyes and let out a tired breath against Applejack’s chest. The farmer continued to hold her in her forelegs, gently stroking her back as their bodies began to relax and share their warmth emanating against each other.
