[Disclaimer: This takes place in a drastically different version of the MLP Universe. Both EqG and FiM history and events have happened in a different order that better explains itself as the story progresses.]

Chance Marsten. He's someone with a less than average opinion of himself. Lost his father, his mother gave up, he was blamed for his father's death, and he's been in a rough spot ever since.

When he was forced to move to Canterlot City, nothing was really the same as he remembered. It was just the new normal he had to embrace. Magic apparently existed, seven crazy powerful chicks go to Canterlot High, and despite all that, he still felt miserable. He felt it more-so, knowing that he'd never get powers like that, to help people out.

That is, until the Summer of 2016 rolls around.

When Summer vacation is around the corner, mainly a week from now, and the students of Canterlot High decide to return to Camp Everfree, due to majority vote from the student body, it's from here that Chance, along with Sunset Shimmer and Vice Principal Luna, would soon realize that things would change for the three of them forever.

Once Chance finds a certain alien device when he returns to the Everfree, he finds that his life will never be the same, and he couldn't be happier.

Will he be able to master the Omnitrix's power, and find a way to save himself from becoming a worse person, or will he die trying when the universe throws deadly opponents, each stronger than the last in his general direction?
