Revengeance
Chapter 3
Previous Chapter"Do you really want to do this, Twi?" asked Spike as he jumped out of the train next to the unicorn mare and looked up at her.
"Yes and no" the mare began to walk towards the exit of Canterlot train station. Her eyes carefully watching her surroundings to see if anyone is following them. "I wish there was another way, but there isn't right now and he has answers for us!" She watched as Celestial guards changed shifts with a group of Lunar guards, as the sun slowly set.
"Unfortunately you're right" the dragon sighed. "How are we actually going to find him? Canterlot is huge!" the dragon raised an eyebrow in question. "Or do we knock on every door until we stumble upon him?".
"No. Shiny once told me that there are only a few branches of the Royal Guard that are not required to live in the barracks at the castle. Including the military police, to which Captian Night Wing belongs and as captain he was given a house near the castle". The mare stopped outside the train station and looked around briefly and walked towards the castle of the Royal Sisters.
"And if we find his house, what do we do?" Spike tried to stay on the same level as the energetic mare. "Wait until he comes home?".
"I'll pick his door lock and we'll let ourselves in and look for information's, preferably we'll be out again before he gets home," the mare quickened her steps. "He's a Bat-Pony and is part of the Lunar Guard, so his shift ends when the sun comes up".
"This can only go wrong..." Spike sighed to himself.
It had taken them a while to find the right house and make sure that no one was inside and no one was watching them as they entered the house.
"I didn’t sense any magical alarm systems, we should be safe" Twilight looked around the large living area with an open kitchen. "You go to the upper floor and I'll look around here, we'll be out of here in a maximum of three hours, understand?" She looked down at the dragon, who saluted her and moved towards the stairs.
It was only an hour before Twilight stood in the kitchen, sighing. "I can't find anything, I'd better go upstairs and help Spike" just as she was about to run to the stairs she heard someone unlock the front door "Shit!" she cursed to herself as she leaned against the wall to the short Entrance hallway and pulled out her pistol with her magic.
She could hear the newcomer carefully closing the door and slowly walking into the living room. At first she only saw a revolver, held in a whitish magic that definitely came from a magic stone. Next she saw the muzzle of a Bat-pony.
When the stallion's head was at the same height as the mares, she pressed the barrel of her pistol against the stallion's head, which made him stop. "Drop it and the magic stone too!" she said calmly and the stallion, knowing better, followed her instructions and put the revolver on the ground and pulled the band with the stone off his hoof and threw it to the weapon.
Twilight slowly backed away from the wall and kicked the weapon and stone deeper into the living room, eyeing the stallion. He wore a dark blue formal uniform, which all high-ranking Lunar guards wore when they were not forced to wear their armor. She could see the Military Police badge and his rank on his collar.
"Captain Night Wing, I assume?" She asked the stallion and let her pistol hover closer to her. What is he doing here so early! She thought briefly in a panic.
"Since you know who I am, could I please know who you are and why you broke into my house?!" he snorted annoyed and looked Twilight directly in the eyes.
A little intimidated by the stallion, who didn't seem to be impressed that someone was pointing a gun at him, Twilight had to swallow. "I... I am a concerned citizen of the kingdom and would like to find out why you falsified the report about the death of the Sparkle family!" she said, stuttering a bit.
The stallion was a little unnerved by the purpose of her presence, but he quickly recovered himself. "Ah, that's why you're here? Quite simply, it was good business!" he said arrogantly and confidently.
"B... Business?..." Twilight snorted, shocked. Something's wrong here! "What kind of business!?" she got a little louder but didn't yell at him.
“A messenger offered me and my team lots of bits to change the report and we gratefully accepted,” he laughed.
Something is really wrong here! The thought flew through her head in panic. "Why... why are you telling me this? And don’t lie?!" the mare became more paranoid and started to sweat slightly.
"Quite simply, you won't shoot at me, I can see that you don't have the nerve to do it!" his face twisted into a malicious smile and he took a step towards the mare. "And no matter where you run, we will find you. "Attacking a Captain of the Royal Guard in his own home?, no one will believe you what I'm telling you and when we get you, you'll either be banished from Equestria or executed!" he laughed as he saw the mare started to tremble. "Is the pistol even real?" he made fun of the mare.
"Twilight?" Spike called down the stairs, drawing attention from the mare to the dragon.
His chance in front of him, the stallion jumped towards the mare, his aim was to knock the pistol away and knock the mare out, but he had underestimated the mare's reaction time.
Noticing the stallion's sudden movement, Twilight turned back to him, everything seemed to be in slow motion, a thousand thoughts racing through her head but they all came to the same solution.
Her ears ringed and her vision blurred as the gunpowder in the cartridge ignited as she subconsciously pulled the trigger.
"Twi...Twili...TWILIGHT!" She noticed someone shaking her, her vision slowly became clearer again and the ringing in her ears became quieter. She looked down at the little dragon, who was shaking her and looking at her in worry and panic. Her gaze went to the pistol that she was still holding in her magic, the barrel of the pistol still gave off a light trail of smoke, the next target of her gaze was the stallion's body. Who was now lying on the floor in a growing puddle of his own blood, coming from a hole in his head.
"Twilight!" the dragon drew her attention from the dead captain. “We have to get out of here, NOW!” he pulled the mare to the back door of the kitchen.
Once she regained her senses, she put the pistol in her holster and used her magic to lift the dragon onto her back and ran out the back door into the night.
