The Adventure Begins

The sun shone brightly over the skies of Equestria, especially over the hostile domain known as the Everfree Forest. While normally left alone by the greater population of the neighboring town of Ponyville, sitting within this dangerous place was a long abandoned palace, the Castle of the Two Sisters. Once the seat of power during Princess Celestia and Luna’s rule before the thrones were moved to the mountain capital of Canterlot, the ruins have undergone several changes. Renovations and reconstructions have repaired much of the structure, but it was still years before this place could house grand events once again.

But, it was still being used by members of the Royalty for secret meetings. It was the one place in Equestria where the alicorn princesses felt comfortable that they could go without anyone following them. Arriving at the ruins, Celestia and Luna met with Cadance and Flurry Heart, the alicorns smiled and giggled as they made their way inside. Arriving in the inner sanctum, there was a massive table, and Twilight Sparkle and Chrysalis were waiting for the others to arrive. At first, there was an awkwardness with the former changeling queen, but they managed to find a way to redeem her.

Games. While Chrysalis was still resistant to the idea of sharing love and joining her kind as a changedling, she found a way to feed on the joy others felt while playing games. It wasn’t love, and so when he fed, it didn’t leave the others drained. This feeling of enjoyment and merriment was also somewhat more filling than love, and so Chrysalis had become more and more eager to try this friendship thing, though she remained in denial that she was becoming friends with them. Because of this, her freedom and redemption program was kept a secret.

“Looks like we’re all here.” Twilight commented, smiling as she was playfully tapping at a large box on the massive table. “Any problems getting here?”

Twilight was the second youngest of the royal alicorns, and still held a body similar to her former unicorn shape. Just barely a head taller than the average unicorn, her frame was developing, with a pair of supple breasts that were still growing, and her flank was getting rounder at a somewhat faster pace. But aside from that, she chose to still dress in the same clothes she wore before ascending, a button up shirt tucked into a knee long skirt, all with a cardigan jacket over it.

“Nope, we left Raven Inkwell in charge of the day to day for today.” Celestia nodded, smiling as she joined the table. “At this point, she doesn’t even ask where we go, just tells us to enjoy ourselves.”

Standing nearly twice the height of the average pony, her frame was the unachievable envy of every mare in Equestria. Her tits were big, easily the size of a pony’s head, and seemed to just defy gravity and physics with how firm and supple they were. A slender waist, despite her ravenous appetite for sweets, though with how much smaller her ass was by comparison, many whispers in the castle spoke that all she ate went to her breasts. And while she was often seen in her royal regalia, she chose to dress in a simple pair of loose pants and very baggy shirt, but even then it only covered her breasts, but left part of her midriff exposed.

“No doubt she believes we leave the castle to have some reprieve from our royal duties.” Luna chimed in, joining her sister at the table. “She can be quite lenient for such a hardworking mare.” Like her sister, she was taller than the average pony, but still shorter than Celestia.

Aside from that, the rest of the lunar alicorn’s body was practically opposite to the solar one. Her breasts were sizable, at least bigger compared to Twilight’s and even Chrysalis’, but she was smaller than Cadance’s and even Flurry’s. But it was her ass that seemed to be the alicorn’s best asset. Large, round, and juicy looking, she had been thought to have worn a bustle under her gowns, when it was just her flank that bounced hypnotically between steps. But like Celestia, her choice of casual clothes was a loose fitting shirt that covered her, but there was no pair of pants loose enough to not look like they were hugging this sexy ass.

“Flurry and I had no issues as well.” Cadance smiled, almost giggling a little. “Shining said it was hoofball weekend anyways, so he’ll be busy.”

Cadance was somewhere in the middle when it came to the alicorns’ standard of shapely beauty. A little bit taller than Twilight, but shorter than her aunts, her boobs and butt were a healthy balance. Still bigger than even the most gifted mare, but were proportioned to the rest of her body. She was the alicorn of love, and so it seemed her body reflected this. Not too much, but not too little, the perfect and ideal shape of fertility in a mare. Her clothes were also a little more liberating, reflecting her former pegasus roots. A short tank top that hugged at her tits, with a pair of short shorts that squeezed her supple ass, and showed off her smooth thighs.

“Yeah, when daddy gets in his game, there’s no moving him.” Flurry added with a giggle. “If we didn’t leave a note for him, I’m sure he wouldn’t even notice we left already.” She was the youngest, but nature seemed to be exceptionally kind with her.

Flurry was shorter than Twilight, which made sense, given how much younger she was compared to the others. Only just coming of age a few years ago, her body developed rapidly. Where she was one petite and rather flat in all aspects, the alicorns’ tits and ass swelled. Just barely qualifying as proportional like her mother, her breasts and ass were quite big. Adding in her shorter height, just a head shorter than the average only, small jokes whispered in the Crystal Empire was that the young princess’ tits and ass grew faster than the rest of her. Her clothes also reflected this. A tube top that just barely covered her areolas, but kept a heavy looking jacket over it, and her skirt was just shy of being considered too mini.

“Well, according to what Twilight has told me, tonight’s game will be quite entertaining.” Chrysalis commented, leaning against her arm, a little bored. “What are we playing anyways?” While not an alicorn, the changeling had an ideal body.

Chrysalis stood between Celestia and Luna in height, and her body was almost never consistent. Being capable of magically altering her form, she would sometimes sport a pair of tits that would cause her head to turn, or an ass that would make smacking, clapping sounds whenever she walked. But today, she chose to be rather petite, often saying this wasn’t her true form, just easier to maintain and save magical energy; but Cadance would still sometimes playfully tease her former rival. Unlike the others, Chrysalis didn’t exactly care for clothes. After losing her Hive, her subjects, and being imprisoned, she had long abandoned the concept of dressing in some regal gown of near transparent, green webbing. So now, she either wore whatever Twilight gave her, or nothing at all. Today was the former, but it was just some shirt nearly four sizes too big and almost doubled as a short dress.

“Well, last time, we did several card games, and nearly blew off the ceiling playing that real estate game.” Twilight giggled, quickly continuing so Cadance and Chrysalis don’t start arguing about that game again. “So today, I’m thinking we will play some Ogres and Oubliettes.” Tapping on the box, she showed it off.

It was a large box, easily the size of a briefcase. On its cover was an engraving of a number of monsters such as dragons, mimics, slimes, devils, ogres, minotaurs, giants, all with a mix of dungeon and city backgrounds. It was a well crafted looking box, easily something created by a dedicated fan of the roleplaying games, with the insignia of an arrow with a butterfly shaped head on the bottom right of the box. Sliding it to the center of the table, Twilight placed her hand on the box.

“This is a special campaign Discord created.” Twilight explained, her voice sounding more than a little too informative and dry. “See, it used his chaotic magic to bring us into the game, so rather than pretend, we become part of the game.”

“And you’re sure this is safe?” Chrysalis asked, raising a curious eyebrow to the box. “While I’m sure he’s aware of my current freedom, you don’t think he would hold a grudge over what I did to his marefriend?”

No, no, I spoke with Discord, and he assured me, this game is just one he designed and played with his party of players.” Twilight replied, thinking back to how he explained it. “He said we can be whatever class and build we’d like, but since we’ve never played, I asked him to just come up with them himself.”

The rest of the mares stood there, ready for whatever was going to happen. Igniting her horn, Twilight activated the container. Arcane glyphs and sigils illuminated around the container, the lid opened, and the room started filling with a strong breeze. This gust of air increased, until it was like a vortex. But rather than sucking in the mares, it suddenly let out a burst of dense, heavy mist. The strange cloud spilled out, pouring over the table and then slowly filled the room. As it touched the floor, some of the mares lifted their legs, as if it were a liquid flooding them.

“Well, he’s always been one for theatrics.” Celestia sighed, rubbing her temple a little. “I guess we just stand here and wait for it to happen?”

“He did say to just open the box with magic. That’s basically it.” Twilight replied, only to shake her head a little. “I’m gonna guess this is just one of his surprises.”

“Well, he is a being of chaos, so really this should be expected.” Chrysalis commented, rolling her eyes a little. “So just let whatever happens, happens.”

The mist continued to spill out of the box, letting out more and more until the air of the room was dense with this fog. As soon as the mares lost all visibility of each other, they lost visibility of themselves. Even with their superior, magical vision, the alicorns couldn’t see anything around them. And then, just as fast as the mist filled the room, it dissipated. But they were no longer in the Castle of the Two Sisters, they were somewhere else. Though they couldn’t see each other, only themselves.

Twilight wasn’t an alicorn anymore. Now, she was a unicorn again, but dressed in flowing purple robes with a feather lining, a pointed hat with a crown-like rim covering her head, and a tall, crystal topped staff. Her surroundings were that of a barren landscape of dust and ash. The clouds were dark, and the only thing visible to her were a number of small mountains, scorched land, and burnt trees. Looking at herself over, she nodded.

“Okay, I think I’m…a wizard…is that what it’s called?” Twilight asked herself aloud. She then realized she was alone. “Celestia? Luna? Cadance? Flurry? Chrysalis? Where are you?” Calling out, she heard no response but her own echo.

Celestia appeared as an earth mare, wearing a set of beautifully crafted plate armor, a metal helmet adorned her head that sported a singular horn, and in her hands was a fine, gleaming, silver sword with a golden hilt, and a large shield that looked like a pair of crossed, golden feathered wings. But aside from that, she was standing on a dirt road in some dense forest. Looking up, it was still morning, or at least close to midday, but she was also alone.

“Looks like Discord had a few more tricks than I thought.” Celestia sighed, looking herself over. “The armor’s not bad, and I’m sure the others are fine. Discord can be a trickster, but he’s not malicious anymore.”

Luna stretched a little, feeling the weight of her wings on her back, but quickly noticed the lack of horn. She had been turned into a pegasus. But what really caught her attention was her attire. She was dressed in some form fitting, rather light leathers that were dyed in black and dark blues. Over her head, a hood was pulled up, with a horn motif in the middle. At her hips, were a number of daggers, and what appeared to be lockpicks. Aside from that, she found herself at the entrance of a massive ruin that seemed to go deeper along a set of stairs.

“I guess I’m some treasure seeker?” Luna contemplated aloud. “Oh well, I’m sure the others will show up. And if this is a…dungeon, I think they’re called that, yeah, a dungeon. There’s got to be plenty of treasure inside.”

Cadance sighed a little, glancing about her surroundings. A palace of some kind, with the smell of incense, and adoring treasures. She was a pegasus, a form she had not taken in decades, so it didn’t cause any discomfort for her. But her attire was something she didn’t expect. She wasn’t wearing any armor, nor bore any weapons. She was wearing exotic, feather themed gold jewelry that ran along her curvy body with silver chains, all with dark pink silks that covered her more sensitive and alluring places, all with a pink gem in the shape of a small horn worn as a chain circlet around her head.

“Hmm, looks like I’m a dancer, which makes sense.” Cadance commented, having some previous knowledge of the game when she started dating Shining. As she looked around, she sighed a little bit. “And it looks like we’ve been seperate and so I have to clear this dungeon.” She shook her head a little. “Probably some devil’s lair. Well, this should be easy.”

Flurry had been shouting for several minutes as she looked around her surroundings. A deep, dark cave that just seemed to be barely illuminated by some dimly glowing crystals that lined the stone walls. But it was pitch black in both directions after a few dozen feet. She was an earth mare, dressed in simple cloth and leather furs. Her mane had been braided back in a long ponytail, with a horn tattoo on her forehead. A pair of feathered wings were tattooed on her back, and a large, wooden club slung at her side.

“Where is everypony?” Flurry shouted, calling out more and more, but all she heard was an echo of her voice back. Groaning an exasperated sigh, she clutched her greatclub. “Well, looks like I’m alone, which means I get to smash all the monsters I want.” A playful smirk ran across her face. “Monsters beware, cause here comes Flurry the barbarian!”

Chrysalis sighed a little, currently sitting on a nearby large stone on the edge of a forest that neighbored a large, flattened road. She was a unicorn, but it’s not like she hadn’t been one before, though she hadn’t been without her insectoid wings in a long time. Her attire wasn’t something she considered Discord would’ve given her. She wasn’t exactly in fabric clothes, more like a partial dress that hugged her body, but seemed to be made of some silk webbing. Anyone looking at her too long could almost see through the partially transparent material.

“And of course, we’re separated.” Chrysalis sighed, shaking her head a little. Her voice oozed sarcasm. “Why am I not surprised? Oh well, I think this is a main road, so maybe I can run into them eventually.”

“Welcome, adventurers!” Called out the voice of Discord, but seemingly coming from all directions. “Welcome to my very special campaign; The Tale of the Adventurcorns!” Though the mares were separated, they could almost hear each other letting out a small sigh at the name. “I, Discord, will serve as your Dungeon Master in this adventure. But first, I’m sure you’ve noticed, you are all alone. Well, that’s the adventure. You have all been separated by a strange mist, arriving at different locations across the map.”

Now things were making a little more sense to them. Discord must’ve designed this adventure for them to get through whatever area they were in. So the goal was to finish what they were doing, and to regroup with the others? Knowing Discord, who knows what he was planning. But he had assured Twilight he put every possible idea he could think of when he was told who was playing. So for now, the mares would be playing whatever adventures he had planned. The voice was also strange, it echoed in all directions, and yet felt as though he was right there talking to them.

“Now, here’s our players!” Discord’s voice continued his explanation. “Twilight Sparkle, a unicorn wizard, must make her way through the scorched Dragon Barrens. Celestia, an earth paladin, has to cross the dense Forest of Shadows. Luna, a pegasus thief, explores the ruins of the Dungeon of Ooze. Cadance, a pegasus dancer, reaches the end of the Palace of Bargains. Flurry Heart, an earth barbarian, has to navigate through the tunnels of Understone Burrows. Chrysalis, a unicorn druid, reaches the capital of the City of Wonders.”

The mares all nodded, accepting their mission. Each was set to complete whatever quest had them in these locations. No doubt completing these would mean reuniting with each other. Their eyes glanced about their surroundings, seeking the best possible paths for them to take, and their minds only gleamed with what they could possibly expect in the domains in which they were sent to. It would seem Discord put a lot of thought into this adventure, and a small feeling of excitement and curiosity ran through them, eager to play this game.

“And now that introductions are out of the way, I shall be speaking to each of you individually throughout your adventure.” Discord’s voice further explained. “This is to ensure, each player focuses only on their adventure, and of course you are free to share your experiences after the campaign is over.” The voice grew louder and louder, booming as it was crackling like a massive firework. “Let the Adventure…Begin!”
