She sighed as she took one last glance at the six ponies embedded in the image and found she couldn't bring herself to do it.  'This must be done' she reminded herself. 'You cannot refuse this because of an attachment. Do not be so selfish as to deny Equestria what it needs most.' Celestia took a moment to collect herself and finally touched her horn against one of the ponies, a lavender colored one. She drew a small wisp of purple from it that sucked the pony out of the picture. The small wisp circled around her horn as she continued to do this with the other ponies, gaining yellow, pink, white, blue, and orange wisps around her horn. The six wisps continued this circling motion until Celestia released a golden stream from her horn that intertwined with the other colors. Celestia stared as the gold snaked its way around the wisps, hypnotizing her with its beauty and precision but she quickly snapped out of her slight trance. This process needed her full attention. Celestia then put her horn through the lock of the safe containing the Elements of Harmony. The wisps twirled inside the lock, producing a burst of multicolored light as the doors began to open. The wisps returned to Celestia's horn, who smiled in return; the wisps had been accepted. The now opened safe, revealed a purple velvet, jeweled case containing the most powerful objects known to ponydom. Celestia carefully took the Elements out and placed the purple wisp on the tiara with the star shaped jewel. As the wisp floated on top, Celestia began to worry. 'Please be accepted' she pleaded in her thoughts. Fate was kind as the star jewel absorbed the wisp and began to release a lavender glow. Celestia's expression was one of relief. She proceeded to place the next five wisps in their corresponding necklaces, each necklace "accepting" its wisp and radiating its color. Celestia then took the golden stream and formed a ring above the Elements. The Elements began to levitate and merged into the ring. The ring then flashed once and dissipated into golden dust. Celestia smiled as she magicked the dust into the case and placed it into the safe, making sure to lock it. "I will see you all soon" the princess murmured softly. "Goodbye." Celestia began to exit the hall and alert Luna of her deed when a flash of light alerted her attention. She turned around just in time to witness the safe doors mysteriously opening. The princess was too shocked to react. The velvet case began to exit its safe and levitate and it began to unlock and open. This was enough to snap Celestia out of her stupor. "NO!" she cried, running to the case. The box opened and began to pour out its contents. The dust began to reform into the golden ring that swirled in circles as Celestia watched, utterly horrified. The ring then vanished, leaving the Elements in its place as they clattered to the floor. Celestia hurried toward the Elements and promptly inspected them for any signs of damage. She was confused when she saw that the jewels on each necklace and the tiara were different, as well as differently colored. Celestia tried to form another golden ring and touched it to the Elements but it was promptly rejected as it was zapped away. The regal princess for once looked as though she might cry. What could have gone wrong? Did it not work? What would she do if it hadn't? Celestia looked at the Elements once more. If this was how the Elements were reacting, she wasn't sure she wanted to find out.
