Chapter 10: The Second Day Begins
The morning dawned on the second day of the former humans' tenure in Equestria. Luna's moon was replaced with Celestia's sun, and the nocturnal creatures went back to their habitats. Some ponies and animals got up at the crack of dawn to go about their business. As the time passed, others got up relatively early compared to their friends and family members.
"...even now that I'm a dragon, I still get up early..." he noted, realizing he'd rolled over on his side--no, scratch that, that somehow, during the night, he'd curled up on himself like a regular dragon would. Grumbling incoherently to himself, the former human got out of the fetal position he was in. After finally managing to get back to his feet, the dragon closed his eyes and let out a long yawn, stretching as he did so.
A geyser of fire, bright as day, issued from his mouth, easily visible to most of the town. As soon as his brain finished waking up, he realized there was only one way his mouth and throat could have felt that sort of warmth as he yawned.
"...Hope no one saw that..." he mumbled.
At the Carousel Boutique, Rarity was up and about, having just finished her very extensive mane and tail work. It was somewhat regular during mornings, and this morning she woke to discover the curls were out of place. Once this was done, she was getting ready for something she'd had planned. It was a short outing with Spike so that they could harvest more jewels. The fashionista's supply was running a little low, she'd noticed, so, to keep up with supply, she'd needed to gather more jewels.
She was somewhat aware the reason Twilight's assistant was willing to work his scales to their limit was because he had a crush on her. The whole incident during his birthday left her aware of how deep his feelings reached. Rarity herself wasn't entirely sure if she could ever fully reciprocate his feelings, not necessarily because of the species difference, but because of the age difference. However, he was still happy to help her, and it wasn't like she wasn't rewarding him for his efforts.
As she finished her preparations and prepared to make a stop by the Ponyville Library to pick up Spike for the jewel run, she heard somewhat of a commotion outside the door.
"I saw it! At the library!" a panicked mare's voice sounded from just outside the front doors. "I swear it was roaring! Fire was coming out of its mouth and everything!"
The snowy unicorn turned to the front of the store. Her eyebrow lowered in thought, then raised in realization. She had a good idea of what the ponies were probably talking about. The pre-adult dragon, John, who was with Corey earlier. Rarity thought things over, as the ponies outside continued to dispute over the "roar" that she'd heard about.
It's possible that John was only waking up...if he were out to do something awful, surely he might have last night... thought the white unicorn as she gazed upon herself in the mirror. What to do, what to do...?
The answer came to her when she considered the durability the smaller dragon had demonstrated, and to a certain extent, the strength. It was a little selfish of her to consider inviting John along, but she couldn't see many other ways for the larger dragon to gain the trust of the ponies in town. Perhaps if they saw him helping her out with something, they'd be able to see his model qualities.
That was the unicorn's plan, though inside she wasn't fully convinced John was precisely good yet. However, she pushed aside any thoughts that the black and blue dragon was a bad egg, and with a generous resolve in her, she would have to add a second dragon to the list of those in their travelling party.
"Alright, John, let's see exactly how much of a model citizen you really are!"
With this particularly dramatic line, Rarity strode off, heading in the direction of the library. Any time doubt surfaced in her mind, she thought about how patient he was with being fitted despite the fact he looked like he was ready to bolt at any moment. Eventually, she had been able to convince herself the pudgy green colt was telling the truth about his much larger dragon friend, and had nothing to stop her.
As her senses returned to her body, Twilight became aware that she didn't quite make it to her bed. The memory of the previous day returned to her, and it was with this she chanced to take a good look where her head rested. Something pudgy, furry, and green...
For a moment, she was absolutely astounded to find herself nuzzling him. The slightest bit of heat tugged at her cheeks as the purple pony tried her hardest to move away from him while not waking him.
...Was he really that soft? She asked herself, trying to push the incident out of her mind for the moment. However, she couldn't deny that the preceding night had gotten interesting, if only for the fact that the green unicorn colt/former human before her had found it in him to talk about his homeworld, and himself to a degree. Now, standing firmly on her four feet, she gazed down upon him, a mixture of concern and anxiousness most of her emotional makeup right now. Concern for him, anxiousness for the meeting to come later.
Right, now I remember why I was... Corey shifted in his sleep, but didn't seem the least bit disturbed by her movement, continuing to sleep soundly. She nodded to herself once, the blush fading from her cheeks. Deciding to leave Corey sleeping for now, she walked over to her mirror, and began brushing her mane as she usually would.
Another memory returned, and she looked over to see Spike still snoozing away. Of course, he would still be asleep. Then again, once she reminded him what today was, all that drowsiness would be, invariably, replaced with urgency. Even before she officially made her friends, she could plainly see Spike's feelings for Rarity since the very first day they met her. The blank stare, hearts in his eyes...even though she wasn't well-versed socially at the time, she could at least discern Spike's behavior was indicative of a crush, having read a few books similar to that in her studies.
"Spike, wake up!" she said, turning to him with her head, finishing up her morning routine. The dragon rolled over, curling up into a tighter ball, pulling the blankets covering him tighter like a foal that wanted to sleep in. Given his age, that wasn't too surprising to Twilight. The purple pony also observed Spike was less likely to want to get up ever since he'd received the bed.
"C'mon...just five more minutes..." said the small dragon groggily.
"Wasn't today the day you were supposed to go gem-hunting with Rarity?" Twilight questioned, looking directly at her assistant's sleeping form. Spike's body immediately stiffened as he sat straight up. He turned to Twilight, his green eyes flaring in concern.
"Was it?" He appeared to be counting the days on his claws, and as he arrived to what today was, Wednesday, he immediately launched straight up into the air, his blankets inelegantly launching off the bed as he did so, a surprised exclamation issuing from his mouth as he did. "Oh man! I'd better get ready!"
Twilight sighed with a smile.
"Some things just won't change, will they?" she asked herself, replacing the blanket on the bed with the basic spell she'd learned so long ago - moving things with her magic definitely was easier, and for a moment she wondered what it was like having to move things by hand in the human world. Realizing she was wasting time, the unicorn decided to plan out what she'd do today other than have the humans introduced to her mentor.
She then recalled Corey's wanting to try and learn magic, even though he seemed to be aware there was a chance he wouldn't be able to use it whatsoever, since he technically wasn't a unicorn, but a human inside. Leo's flight and John's dragon breath sort of came with the package, but with Corey's expected ability as a unicorn, that came from inside, rather than outside or by virtue of being the creature in question.
Spike ran about, trying to get his morning routine done, just as predictably as his crush allowed. The baby dragon, however, wasn't paying any attention to where he was shuffling in his rush to get other things worked out.
Twilight was busy making a list of things she needed to get done before the meeting, not paying any attention to where Spike was running...
"Eeeeyouch!!"
Corey really wished he hadn't fallen asleep on the floor last night. Not only was he slightly sore from the act of sleeping on the floor in the first place, but something rudely awakened him by stepping down on his tail, which, aside from the action hurting like hell, also made him jump very high in the air headfirst. He hit his head on the ceiling, then found himself not falling from the ceiling as expected. Confused, he looked to where he hit, and realized with irritation that not only was he rudely awakened, but this time he had gotten his horn caught in the ceiling of Twilight's room.
"Son of a---" he grumbled, not audible to Spike or Twilight, and also unable to finish his swear. He exhaled roughly, and called down. "Uh, a little help?"
Both of the others in the room looked up to find him, and it was then he realized how tall Twilight's room was. Vertigo rapidly set in, and to alleviate it, Corey stared up into the ceiling, trying his hardest to ignore Spike's snickers. Though he couldn't see what was going on, observing the ceiling of the room, he could hear voices.
"Spike!" This was Twilight, scolding her baby dragon assistant. "You have to be a little more careful!"
Corey's brow furrowed, though no one below could see it. What had Spike so worried that he wouldn't pay any attention to where he was stepping?
His answer came soon enough, with a knock at the door. Spike immediately gasped, and spoke up.
"I'll get it!" He sounded incredibly eager to answer the door. Corey continued to dangle off the ceiling by his horn. Below him, he heard Twilight sigh. The next thing he knew, he heard a sound, sort of like a low-pitched flute note. Then, he felt as though two large hands were closed around him: one of the hands was up on the top of his head, the fingers splayed over the horn and pushing down, the other supporting him by his rear end. Looking down to where he knew Twilight was, he saw that he was enveloped in a magenta glow, as was her horn. She was gently lowering him down to the ground using what he assumed to be a telekinetic spell.
"Sorry about that, Corey," said Twilight on Spike's behalf, seeing as how he wasn't in the room. "It's just that..." She trailed off. Corey looked to her, trying to pour as much intrigue into his expression as he could without seeming too desperate to find out why she was being so hesitant. He wasn't a total idiot. He knew full well why Spike could have been in such a hurry.
"Hmm..." Corey responded, back on his four feet now. He really didn't want to ask flat-out, since as far as Twilight knew, Corey didn't know about Spike's crush...yet. The two stood wordlessly for a few more moments.
"It's just that he's..." He could still hear her hesitating, as though she didn't quite know how to word it. "He gets really excited when he gets to help Rarity out with gem hunting." He looked up to her, trying his hardest to appear puzzled now. "D-don't look at me, I don't know why!"
Corey softened his gaze, a feat he suddenly felt was a little too easy all of a sudden recalling last night.
"I think I understand..." he nodded. Just then, Corey's ear stiffened, as he heard the conversation downstairs, Twilight's words no longer distracting him from eavesdropping.
"...though I do appreciate the help you lend me on these searches, Spike," Rarity's voice entered his ears. "I believe that we must allow someone else to join us..." The snowy unicorn trailed off, but for what reason, Corey was unable to discern. The fact he'd gotten a rude awakening was finally starting to get to him. "Ah, John, there you are..."
There was a palpable silence, and Corey didn't want to break it. In fact, he was sure that if anyone made a sudden movement, it might have caused the library to cave in on itself just from the sheer tension.
"Eh, yeah, what?" John asked, sounding slightly uncomfortable. "If this is about the tux--"
"Oh, no, not that, darling," Though Corey couldn't see the three currently, his mind's eye was painting a picture for him: Rarity at the door, looking to John with a smile on her face, nice and normal, John looking somewhat discomforted and not knowing what the hell he just walked into, and Spike giving the much bigger dragon the evil eye. "You see, I use precious gems in my fashion work, but I've been running low, so I decided to take this day to go jewel hunting. It's usually only Spike and myself, but I believe today can be an exception, so would you like to accompany us?"
Corey took an instant to look towards Twilight.
"...Am I the only one visualizing...?" he asked. "...Spike looking at John with an evil look in his--"
"No!" Twilight said back quickly, her ears wilted, as though she'd failed at doing something important. "But how'd you...?"
"If this whole 'crush' thing's supposed to be a big secret, he sure doesn't know how to hide it." Corey responded. "I mean, he stepped on my tail as he rushed around..."
With that, Corey made his way for the doorway, wanting to find out how the rest of this conversation played out.
The former human known as John was at an impass. Like Corey, he was pre-aware of Spike's crush on Rarity, and even if he weren't, the glare the smaller dragon was shooting him whenever he got the chance would have tipped him off in the first five seconds. However, he also didn't want to appear mean either. He didn't want to hurt her feelings by saying "no", so he didn't. Abiding by his nicer nature, the larger dragon spoke up.
"Okay, sure," he said, trying his hardest to act like Spike's glare didn't heat up more, "I'll go. Don't have a lot to do..."
Rarity gave a small nod of approval: "Very well then, if you'll join us?"
It was then, that from the corner of his eye, he saw Corey, still very much a unicorn. However, he noticed that he was no longer wearing the Solid Snake's cosplayer's uniform. Remembering that he was technically sleeping in the same room as Twilight, and the behavior Corey displayed around her earlier, he shivered somewhat. He had to know.
"Hold on a sec," said John, raising a hand. "I've gotta talk to Corey for a moment, first..." He looked back to Corey again, and noticed the boy flinch somewhat as soon as they were looking at each other again.
"Please don't take too long," Rarity said, only a hint of impatience in her tone.
"Actually," said Twilight, walking out of her room and making her way over to Rarity, "I want to talk to you Rarity, before you go..."
As John caught sight of Twilight, he couldn't help but notice she looked a little on-edge about something, like she had yesterday when she was awaiting Princess Celestia's reply. Deciding not to pry for the moment, and figuring it had to do with the former humans in Equestria anyway, John made his way over to Corey. Corey followed him, and John walked past him, shutting the door so that they wouldn't be overheard.
"...So," John said after some silence between them, "I see you got the costume off..."
Corey flinched, and looked away. Almost immediately, his cheeks lit up like a Christmas tree...if said tree were decorated exclusively in crimson lights.
"...I wouldn't say I got the costume off, but...yeah, it's off..." John's eye twitched as he realized what that could have meant. Judging from the color of Corey's face, and fully capable of deductive reasoning (while at the same time believing his friend to be as well), there was only one character that could have possibly taken off his clothing. "It wasn't the fact that she saw me naked--oh God...why...?"
John sighed. Corey's way with words wasn't helping him. He could tell, though, by the look in his eye that he was relieved he was telling this to him and not to Leo or Ivan.
"...It wasn't that she saw me...naked, it's the fact she had to unclothe me..." Corey said, finally finishing. "And then after that, I couldn't sleep."
The dragon's eye twitched, and he stared at Corey in utter disbelief. "So then, what'd you do after that?"
"Well, I decided to talk to Twilight, to see what I could do."
"...How'd it go?" John was trying his hardest to be casual, not even bothering to point out that such a thing could be dangerous.
"Better than you think...but towards the end of the conversation...things started getting...strange..."
"'Strange'?" John winced, really not liking the way Corey worded that.
"Not that way, you--"
"I know, I know..."
"...You know..." The green unicorn continued, as though he were relaying a story. "...You know what...I think that's all you really need to know,"
"...Hey, I'm not gonna judge you for it," John said, and this was true. Technically, they weren't humans. The only thing that set them apart from the natives of Equestria was the fact their lives weren't all sunshine and rainbows, and that typically they were on the Internet most of the day, at least now, anyway. "It's...just a little..."
"I-I don't...like her in that way," John chose not to ignore the fact Corey hesitated a little in saying that; a hint of uncertainty in his tone may have been present as well. Thankfully, to cut this awkward scene short, Rarity's voice could be heard squealing downstairs.
"You mean to tell me their group is going to meet Princess Celestia today?!"
"...She told her about the meeting...?" Corey asked. "...Well, I guess that makes sense, at least. Anyway, John," He continued, as though not worried about that first part, "Please, don't tell Ivan and Leo what I just told you. Ivan's a wildcard; I honestly don't know what he'll do...but Leo...if he hangs out with Rainbow Dash half as much as I think he does...that mare's gonna find out, and I'll never hear the end of it..."
John nodded with a small smile.
"Your secret's safe with me," he assured. "Now...I've gotta go gem hunting."
Twilight was unsure if what she told Rarity was right. She didn't tell her the whole truth about why Princess Celestia was coming to meet the four new guys in town; that they were human males, not colts and a dragon, swapped into their universe thanks to an accident. Yet, Twilight wanted to be sure that the Princess could discern if they were telling the truth or not about their situation. She had trusted her instincts, and most of the time, they worked. Unless she allowed herself to become completely paranoid...like when she thought she needed a weekly friendship report...or the time she met her future self...
"Thanks again, Rarity," she said, forcing herself to smile. "You should already have Corey's measurements with that...costume, you gave him."
"After how he vanished from me that time, I felt inspired to give it to him. It just fit together so wonderfully...other than his...frame, of course," Rarity said, trying to be nice about Corey's body weight.
"Alright, I'm all done here," John said, stepping out of the house. Twilight turned to see Spike still giving him the evil eye, and frowned.
C'mon, Spike, you heard the reason why she's bringing him along, don't be so sour about it... she thought to herself. She thought it was nice of Rarity to do that favor for John. After all, the ponies in town were probably still a little frightened at the pre-adult dragon in their midst.
Rarity looked up to John, and put a pleasant smile on her face, nodding.
"So, shall we depart?" she asked. When John and Spike nodded, the latter still trying to shoot a dirty look to the former, while the former put on a neutral look on his face. Twilight could tell he was probably caught between a rock and a hard place. The trio left, probably heading back to Rarity's first, then to wherever the gem search would take them. With this in mind, Twilight turned around, and headed back into the library, to find Corey moving about in the main part of the library. He seemed a little anxious about something, but Twilight didn't feel like prying.
"Anything wrong?" she asked, looking to him. He briefly looked to her, and shook his head "no".
"I'm just...thinking things over." he responded. His brows furrowed for a moment, and he turned back to her. "So, other than the upcoming meeting with royalty, what else do you have planned for the day?"
Twilight flinched. Like she needed to be reminded of that fact. She was already trying to make sure the meeting at least went smoothly, and so far, she'd already gotten one of the items checked off the list: "tell Rarity to get suits ready". While she knew her mentor didn't enjoy formalities, as evidenced by the Gala so long ago, Twilight did, however, want them to look their best - meeting the princess this early on in Equestria was an honor in itself.
"Well," she started, thinking it over. "I guess I can try to tutor you how to use magic..." Smiling to him, she began to think about reference guides on the subject. It would have to be something basic, so that Corey could use basic spells. Of course, there was none more basic than the levitation spell, the one that allowed unicorns to move objects with their magic as opposed to their bodies. A unicorn could still function without it, but it'd be a little tougher for them.
Besides, from the look on Corey's face when he realized he was caught in the ceiling, she had a hunch in her mind that he was really getting tired of being used as a dart. Briefly, she wondered how many other times he'd gotten his horn caught in things.
"Guess it can't hurt..." As he made his response, she once again noticed that the faintest of smiles briefly graced his face. "We can try."
She smiled to him again, and nodded.
"I'm going to find a couple of reference guides on magic use. They should be here somewhere..."
Awareness returned to his body, and the feeling of softness underneath his body momentarily confused him. Leo swore he fell asleep on the cloud floor, which surprisingly felt firm against his body. The dream sequence he'd gone through was also surprisingly pleasant, and at the same time, incredibly weird. It involved himself, Rainbow Dash, and interesting, non-sexual behavior. That said, Dash acting that way was alien, and there was no way she'd act like that in the space of a few days.
Just as the former human finished telling himself this, he awoke to realize he wasn't on the floor, like he'd slept. His eyes shot open completely in realization, and he sat bolt upright. The blankets with Rainbow Dash's cutie mark on it...the sheets...it all looked familiar. Since Dash couldn't directly harness magic, not being a unicorn, the silver pegasus knew there was only one way that he could have woken up in a bed.
"...Did she...?" A million things went through his mind at once. Of that value, about half were dirty thoughts that might have surfaced back on Earth, while the other half couldn't quite fathom how he'd ended up in Rainbow Dash's bed straight away. His mind went straight back to the dream. Dash seemed...slightly off, in the dream. Not like her usual self.
His introspection was cut short, however, when the sound of a door being opened rang out. He turned back to the door, opening his eyes. Rainbow Dash stood in the doorway, looking somewhat tired. When she saw that he was up, she grinned somewhat.
"Mornin'," she said, coming into the room, still wearing that smile on her face. Her gaze was...softer, than Leo usually saw in her. He didn't know what was going on in her head, but she seemed to be trying to find a way to say what she wanted to say. "I let you have the bed, this time." Her gaze hardened, but Leo could somewhat tell there was a small trace of softness around her emotional state, "Don't count on it happening every time you wanna crash here!"
"Don't plan on it..." Leo couldn't fight back the memory of the dream. As he made his way out of the bed, he recalled precisely what Rainbow's mannerisms were in it. She was her cocky, arrogant self on the surface, in just about every way Fluttershy's opposite...and yet, when she turned to him, while said sentiments were still there...
...She's being...really nice, to me... He observed. I don't know if she actually uses her bed regularly, though... Leo remembered that she seemed to nap wherever she pleased. As he stopped to fix the bed, he realized his wings still ached dully, like he just performed a full workout with them, which for all intents, using them would have done so.
Between the two pegasi, there was awkwardness. Rainbow Dash wasn't entirely sure if what she did was the right thing to do, given she barely knew Leo, and Leo himself wasn't sure if Rainbow was feeling like herself. Once Leo finished making her bed, he tried to leave, but to his surprise, he was stopped by the cyan mare. She seemed surprised and frustrated with herself, as well, that she wanted him to remain where he was.
"Actually," Rainbow continued, smiling to herself. "I did see something interesting while flyin' about getting a head start on the weather..."
"Really?" asked Leo, wanting to know about this. For some reason, his imagination went straight to Corey and Twilight, as he thought about the former's floundering about and rambling in her company. It would be Corey's luck to be spotted in an awkward moment with Twilight, Leo realized as he considered all the crap that happened to his friend since coming here. "And that would be...?"
Rainbow mischievously smiled, a good indication that whatever she saw had to have been particularly juicy in nature for her to have mischief on her mind.
"C'mon, I'll show you myself!" she said, and her wings spread. She tore off at top speed for a half second, then she stopped and giggled to herself. The cyan mare floated back to the silvery colt and said, "Right, I want you to actually see what I'm about to show you..."
Leo took off, a little bit of soreness in his wings returning. However, from personal experience, he'd hoped that the principle that working muscles to the limit produces better stamina than normal would work with his wings as well. He returned Rainbow's smile, though the fact she was being nicer than normal to him was starting to really get to him.
"Well, lead the way," responded Leo, and so the two pegasi were off again. Dash began to lead the two straight into town, and Leo wondered exactly what she was up to...
"Wake up, Ivan!!"
Ivan, startled, immediately launched off the bed, mentally saying a steady stream of curses as he landed hard on his side with a thud. The still sleepy former human looked over to see Applejack, fixing him with a stern expression, yet underneath the sternness he could see the faintest glimmer of laughter in the green eyes of the pony.
"I'm not a heavy sleeper, Applejack, you know that," Ivan grumbled, pissed at the rude awakening, as he struggled back to four feet.
"There's work to be done today, an' we need some extra hooves!" Applejack explained, "Though it ain't gonna be harvestin' more apples. We done overharvested yesterday, so there won't be much more harvestin' to be done for a while."
Ivan's eye twitched somewhat. So if it wasn't gonna be an apple harvest, what the hell else could a pony farm have? He didn't see any episodes specifically dealing with what else the farm could have, so any work done today would be a complete surprise to him. If it involved doing work that required him to have hands, however, he wasn't quite sure how to deal with that.
Though he did remember Corey holding a fork on his hoof...
"Well, I guess if I'm gonna be sleeping here, I don't have a choice," Ivan responded, looking up, his face fading back into its usual listless, emotionless bit. He was never really one to show much in the way of emotion, unless he was happy or angry, and sometimes if surprised, but the third option happened rarely. Well, in the human world anyway. "So what do you want me to do?"
"Nice to see your rarin' to go so quick," Applejack said. "Well, before that, how 'bout some breakfast first?"
Ivan was just about to respond "no", when he felt his entire stomach tremble. Now that he thought about it, he really didn't eat a whole lot yesterday, and boy was his body alerting him of its displeasure. The brown pony didn't eat the apples he was harvesting, since he knew he'd probably get caught doing it and didn't much feel like getting chastised on the first day. The same went for the second day.
"...I...didn't eat all day yesterday," remarked the former human as though he'd forgotten this fact.
"Glad to see you're bein' honest with yourself, now let's go, partner!"
And with that exchange done, Ivan followed Applejack, completely unsure where this day would go. After all, he did have a meeting to get to at some point today, and he wasn't entirely sure how that would play out.
Equestria wasn't precisely known for having humans in it, after all, let alone ones trapped in alien bodies to said species.
At the Sugarcube Corner, a certain pink earth pony was once again up and bouncing off the walls. Pinkie Pie was still planning the party, which surprised even her when she thought about it. Usually she'd have the welcome parties for the newcomers in town ready before the night arrived. They'd arrived pretty early in the day, so she'd had all day to plan things.
In fact, she did have some of the plans ready to go even after their dragon friend had fallen out of the sky. But there was something about these newcomers that necesitated Pinkie to give it more than her best. She wasn't going for an A-plus. Or an A-double plus. She was going to give this party just a little more pizazz than normal to compensate for the notable differences of the newcomers. From what she'd seen of the dragon, there wasn't a whole lot wrong with him, except for falling out of the sky.
The silver pegasus colt seemed honestly frightened of her, but for what reason Pinkie couldn't tell. She wasn't a harmful pony by any stretch of the imagination, discounting the fact she could only predict when bad things were going to happen to somepony. But she wasn't the direct cause of the harm!
The green unicorn colt seemed to have trouble smiling. His mouth was almost always twisted into a scowl, at least, when he wasn't expressing shock in his features. She was going to put a smile on that pudgy green colt's face with this party.
Finally, there was the sleepy reddish-brown earth pony. If this welcome party was going to be enjoyable, she'd have to make sure to keep him awake with the party events. If Applejack could keep the earth pony away from town for a bit, Rainbow Dash could keep the silver pegasus in her sight, and Twilight could keep the pudgy colt's attention, and somepony could keep the dragon occupied, at least until the evening, this party would remain as secret as possible from them.
Pinkie stretched her limbs, getting onto her hind legs to stretch the whole of her body.
"Let's make this the best party! Turn that frown up-side down, wake the sleepy, cure the frights and...make sure a dragon has more friends!" Pinkie halted abruptly on the last one, and added "If he wants them..."
And with this, the party planner of Ponyville went back to work...
