~Rainbow POV ~

Okay, first performance ever as a Wonderbolt wasn't that awful. If I'm being honest, I'm a bit shocked I'm still a Wonderbolt due to the amount of damages I caused in the showcase, at least no pony got hurt. To be honest, it was nice to know I wasn't the only pony here with a terrible nickname like my one, 'Rainbow Crash', that one name I got in flight school when I was a filly. Honestly, that name traumatised me because I didn't want other ponies to view me as a bad flyer because my ego was way up to the moon, at least my strong flying skills helped with keeping my ego and reputation. I'm relieved that I wasn't called 'Rainbow Trash' since I did fall into the trashcan, I'm never gonna live if some pony brings that up again.

Anyways, I learnt my lesson and I'm ok with cleaning up the showcase and HQ for a month. Not that I like punishment, mainly feel responsible for my recklessness and taking accountability for it. Wow Dash, 'accountability', Twilight is gonna be on your ass about using big words. At least I can get some shut eye when I head back up to HQ since we're practicing for another show in Canterlot next week and Spitfire hasn't got a solid routine down yet. I'm sure she'll choreograph smoothly like she always does, although I do remember her mentioning that she wanted every pony to contribute a move to the performance. I'm debating about doing my Sonic Rainboom but at this point, everypony has seen it, including Celestia herself. If she suggests for me to do it I'll do it, if not I'm fine with coming up with an original move for the show.

One thing I did notice was the way Soarin was acting towards me. Don't get me wrong he is an amazing friend I have nothing bad to say about him! However, I wasn't a fan of his behaviour towards me when I got my nickname. Dash remember, it's just a Wonderbolt initiation thing they have for new Bolts don't take it so personally. He was probably just laughing alongside with every pony. But afterwards when the show was over when he bumped me with his wing, the touch between us for a split second shocked me a bit. Yea I know he is friendly I've danced with him at the royal wedding and we hugged afterwards as a friendly gesture which felt platonic but this felt different. I liked the feeling and I want more of it. Sweet Celestia when did you become sappy. Being alone out here cleaning with your thoughts is not healthy for a long period of time before it drives you crazy.

"There she is." Speak of the devil himself. His voice is very distinctive and attractive if I'm going to be honest, it's not like any pony can read my thoughts but I really like it a lot. I'm surprised he didn't call me 'Crash'.

"Hey Clipper," I look at him with a innocent smile.

"Woah, easy Crash I just came to check up on you." Fuck he is so dramatic but funny at the same time. I could see a grin slowly showing up on his face. I just rolled my eyes and went back to sweating. "How's cleaning going?"

"It's going alright. I'm nearly done with all of this and then gonna fly back up to HQ. How come you're back down here in Ponyville? I would've assumed you just went to get some shut eye for practice tomorrow." Why was he here? So many questions was running through my mind trying to find the most reasonable answer I could've thought of.

"Oh, I just came back down to check on you. I got a bit worried since you've been down here a while and thought something might've happened to you." I could see that smug disappearing off his face and had a more concerned expression. I noticed that his ears twitched when he answered me.

"Nice to know you care Soar, besides me and my friends saved Equestria a lot of times. Speaking of my friends, they were keeping me company here for a while I was cleaning everything up and got lost into conversation. Apparently Pinkie Pie told me that she's Surprises cousin. I didn't believe it at first but then the pieces just came together and was left a bit shocked why she didn't tell me in the first place." At least I reassured him that I'm doing okay.

"Really?" Wait he didn't know either? I just assumed he would've since the Bolt's spend a lot of time together

"Wonder why they didn't tell any pony then." I began to ponder why they didn't tell us. Then again this is 'pinkie pie' and it's just classic Pinkie nature.

"Too bad she didn't tell you, you're quite cute when you fangirl over things Crashy"

"Wait what-" Hold up, first did he just call me cute, secondly he called me cute when I was fangirling which he has seen twice to my knowledge, thirdly Crashy? My face felt hotter than usual which was odd since it is cold. "Hmm?" I could hear him moaning and waiting for a response. This gives me a feeling I should play hard to get and just playfully ignore him for a bit. I just smiled and rolled my eyes to him before he could distract me more.

"Aww no response? Did you not like the amazing new nickname I came up for you." Cute he's needy for my attention. I remember talking with Rarity and she was rambling about flirting tips, for example this scenario and make them beg for your attention. She also mentioned giving pet names was cute and twirling my tail to a stallion's muzzle to tease. I do love being a tease.

"Couldn't hear you Clippy, trying to get a job done so we can get some shut eye." To be honest, I could've said a better nickname but I wanted to slowly tease him and build up some tension between us.

"You need me to come closer then for you to hear me then?" His tone become softer but was trying to assert his dominance over me. I'm happy that he is respecting my personal space of not getting intimate way too fast. I like fast but not that kinda fast. At least he is asking for my consent to come closer. I nodded my head slyly and he moved closer to me. "Well since you didn't hear me before, I said you're cute Crashie." Fucking Celestia that was cringe but was kinda working.

"Crash? Seriously you can do way better than that!" I pivoted the tip of my wing to his chest and softly nudged his chest. I keep forgetting how fluffy pegasus chest fluff can be, why was it so soft. It's so squishy and fluffy. Fuck Rainbow what is wrong with you right now. I could see a smirk running across his face so I did the same in response.

"Well what do you want to be called then?" The tone shift from soft to becoming slowly assertive is kinda turning me on a bit.

"Whatever you decide Soarin, I'm not going to stop you." Shit did I just give him the option to choose? What's his game plan here, I can't read him.

"Well since you kindly gave me the option Dashie, I'll have to think about it." Soarin purposely moved closer to the spot he was in before I nudged him with my wing. I didn't back up, I was feeling comfortable with this playful flirting going on between us. His stupid smug on his face grew bigger, I think I have a feeling what he's going to do but I'll make him wait for it.

"Sweet Celestia you're taking forever to think, I could probably clean up this place twice and still race you back to HQ before you come up with something interesting." I let my body move closer towards him giving ourselves a bit of distance between us but barely anything. I'm certain he's using the same game plan as me, playing hard to get. I guess you have to see who's better at building tension and can resist better.

"Did you consider the reason why I'm taking forever to decide Dashie is because of how Dashing you look tonight under the moonlight?" Dashing, really? I couldn't help but chuckle to his pun and my face was slowly becoming hotter by the second, when was he a romantic "Is Dashie blushing?" Shit his voice got deeper. I dropped the broomstick from a delayed reaction.

"N-no, the temperature just got hotter that's all" Dash, I think you need to get Discord to counter AJ's element purposely to learn how to lie because you did not attempt to hide the fact you are flustered. I could really start to feel the tension between us becoming harder and harder to resist. My voice started to crack and went high pitch and escaped my mouth. Fuck he heard that.

"I think you like being called Dashie don't you?" His tone was trying to convince me that he's completely innocent while his voice become deeper and more seductive when he kept talking to me.

"M-maybe" I became more nervous than I was before, his voice is so manipulative.

"Good girl," the pacing of his voice when he said that to me made me feel a sensation in my body. His tone shifted more softly yet still assertive when I admitted that I liked it when he called me 'Dashie'. My face was just becoming hotter and hotter my breathes started to speed up as I felt my heart throb out of my chest. "You ok Dashie? If it's too much just tell me."

"Yea I'm ok, I'm feeling you, I mean I'm hot, I mean-" Curse my love of sweet burning tension, it always leaves me stuttering. I could hear him giggle to himself. I pushed him away to give myself space to catch my breath and calm down a bit.

"Adorable, I think this place looks pretty clean. Want me to escort you back up to HQ princess?" Okay now he's just getting cocky in a playful way, couldn't help but laugh to the pet names.

"Since when were you the type of guy to give pet names to mares?" I sarcastically responded to his question.

"Since when were you the type of gal to become so red easily? I'm not complaining I'm just noting my observations." The formality and playfulness in his voice still engages my curiosity to where this flirting is going too.

"Very funny Soar, I just didn't know how much of a gentlecolt you are~" I could feel my voice become more calmer yet subtly flirty then my usual enthusiastic tone. To be fair, it is night time and I had a big day today. I opened my wings to start making my way back up to HQ before it gets any later. "You coming?"

"Yea, I was just waiting for you Dashie." he says slyly. Typical Soarin. When he opened his wings to fly this time, I never noticed how toned and muscular his wings were. Rainbow Dash, he's an athlete of course he has nice wings!

"So what was your true intention of coming to see me privately while I was finishing up work here?" I asked him.

"Well if you want to know so badly Dashie, I genuinely wanted to make sure you were ok when the Bolt's left you here and if you had anything to eat afterwards. Plus it gives me the chance to spend more time with you that's not a brief moment. Even when things got heated between us earlier it did feel right." It's kinda cute he admitted he liked the heat, maybe I need to step it up on that but I'll just take it slow because I don't want to rush things.

"I can assure you I'm okay. My friends got some food for me while I was cleaning things up down there which was sweet. Plus spending time with you and me alone is quite nice, I really liked that a lot." I admitted to him.

"Did you now Dashie?" His ears perk up whenever he gets curious, really adorable. I just nodded my head. "Hey, before we go back up to HQ I wanna show you one of my favourite spots on the compound. It has an amazing view at any time of day or night. Would you wanna go?"

"Sure, only because you were so polite." I teased a lil. We sped up slightly when HQ become more visible. Soarin started to speed up slowly to direct me to the spot and so I could also see him since it was dark. It was this patch of clouds that had an amazing view of HQ and you could see Ponyville and Canterlot from up there, where Celestia and Luna raise the sun and moon. I've seen pretty good views of Equestria but this might be my new favourite spot.

"I usually come up here when I just want some time with myself or just think and watch what's happening around me. Has a great view of everything even at night," he says. I couldn't help but smile at him. We both are sitting on the same cloud and it is a bit colder since it's higher than cloud level. My body shivers a bit and he noticed. I could feel his wing sweep my body close to him for me to keep warm and that's not the only thing heating up. "You ok? I saw you cold and didn't want you to freeze up here. Sorry I forgot to mention how cold it gets."

"It's alright Soarin, and yes I'm comfortable like this with you." I reply to him. His expression was slightly worried that he might've overstepped my boundaries but smiled looking into my eyes once I reassured him. I couldn't help but smile back and stare into his eyes, basically reciprocating his actions. My eyes drift to his lips to get a quick peak at them. I quickly turned my head down to his chest and buried myself in there from embarrassment.

"You ok Dashie?" Soarin asked me. I felt his hoof on my head running down my chin where he tilts my head back to staring in his eyes again. He lowers his hoof once he see's my face fully.

"I'm ok Soar, I was just thinking of something.." I couldn't stop gazing into his eyes.

"What is it Dashie?"

I was so nervous to say anything to him with him paying full attention to me, I just had to build my courage up quickly and suck it up despite being on edge. "C-can you kiss me?"
