After the Elements of Harmony cleansed Luna of the Nightmare, Celestia decided that the six mares who stopped the eternal night would need some protection from both enemies and the public.

Crescent just wanted a way to earn bits for his struggling family, so when offered the chance to protect the new Bearers of Harmony how could he say no? It wasn’t as if he had his own not-so-sinister plans, or that the other guards have their own agenda. Right?

One thing was for certain. With six new ponies sent to Ponyville to protect Twilight and her friends, even something as sacred as a promise can be broken. That is, if they can protect each other before it’s too late. Too bad some have their own plans regarding the elements and the ponies who now wield them.
